Leon finds that the aura only intensifies as he draws closer to the cave, which he still cannot quite see the back of. However, he steels his nerves and remains steadfast rather than joining Yue in her swift departure. He may not be an expert on Aura, but even Leon can tell that this one is different. It's... perhaps part of the location? Either that, or an extremely powerful individual (or group of individuals) are trying to discourage people from entering this place.

"What the sarn hell is tha-" Brooke begins, before seeing Yue bolt. "Yue!" She gives chase, vividly recalling the last time someone ran off alone in this swamp. In some ways Yue is more capable of taking care of herself than Alex, but in others... well, she's still very much a kid.

Brooke quickly catches up to Yue and makes her promise to, at the very least, return to town at a more reasonable pace than 'breakneck speed'. She agrees and sets off with Hearth lighting the way for her.

After some hesitation, Brooke heads back towards Alex and Leon. It shouldn't take Yue too long to make her way out of the swamp, and she figures the girl can take care of herself on the open roads. Probably. Alex and Leon, on the other hand... that cave didn't have a good feeling about it.

So if the child assassin runs in terror at the cave, and the witch slayer is visibly disturbed be being there, you can imagine that the home raised Alchemist in training is terrified out of his mind when he approaches the cave. The only thing keeping him standing where he was, was the fact that Leon hadn’t taken off as well. It’s one thing to be scared in the moment, as Alex usually is when handling medical emergencies and such, but another completely to take off at a run and leave a patient in pain or unassisted. Alex’s father had tried to teach him to steel his nerves and focus on just the task at hand. That teaching was only just barely working right now.
Alex follows Leon, a bit too closely, into the carve when he asks if it is D’mara. If this was anything like her abilities, he’s thinking more and more that it may be for the best that they still hadn’t really met yet. Her presence wasn’t anything like this in that one moment the two had been in the same room, but Leon was a member of her branch now. She could have been hiding her real abilities from the rest of the guild. Maybe she was just as creepy as that one girl that appeared from seemingly nowhere. “Always trying to find different ways to scare me to death too!” Alex mutters the last under his breath. He turns to Leon and says, “I don’t like it in here one bit man. Let’s search here quickly and get out. Brooke isn’t here, Yue ran off, we’re not in the best of positions here. This place just doesn’t...feel right. I know you mentioned that your past was a little different, but I can’t recall that you went into detail. Does this have to do with it? Are you comfortable here?” Alex stops himself there as he notices he’s starting to ramble. He finishes with, “Let’s just finish this up so we can get back. It’s getting late.”

Leon had taken a few steps forward trying to get a better look into the cave when Alex finally spoke up as he looked back for the first time realizing that both Yue and Brooke were out of sight at the moment. "Is it just the two of us out here? I guess Brooke must have gone after Yue...As for your question, not exactly comfortable, however when I'm in the branch at the same time as Lady D'Mara you have this low laying feeling of oppression around her, maybe I've just gotten used to it? But...I'm not sure if this is Lady D'Mara it feels angrier or at least more aggressive. There's something or someone in here who wants us to leave." he said holding the lantern out a bit trying to catch sight of anything, even just the movement of a shadow.

Alex freezes at the sound of the voice. Something in here really didn’t want them to go farther. He pulls out Allure’s ball and releases her, holds up his lantern in front of him and stops right where he is. He definitely didn’t want to progress any further without being able to see what was in front of him. Alex manages to speak up after a moment, “I don’t like this one bit Leon. Maybe we should leave. That doesn’t sound like anyone I know.” Alex thinks for a moment and yells, “E-e-excuse me. S-sorry to bother you. We-we were just exploring. I am an alchemist from the guild. Do you require help?” Alex waited on pointed toes for a response. He was ready at any moment to turn tail and leave the cave.

Brooke heads back at a steady jog, conscious of the fact that - as she'd just reminded Yue - running through a swamp at breakneck pace was a bad idea. She picks up her pace as she hears an unfamiliar voice shout, her bow in hand. Probably not a horde of wild Pokemon, if it's talking, but people can be plenty nasty enough on their own... and don't stories say some Pokemon can talk?
"Y'all all right?" she calls out in a low voice, as Alex and Leon come into view.

Leon felt his hair stand on end but he managed to keep it together as he stepped forward a bit "Could you please just step out for a moment and let us know you're alright? This swamp is a dangerous place to wander alone in. I promise we don't mean you any harm." he said taking a couple steps forward.

Well, that was all the push Alex needed. “Guess they don’t want or need help. We did our best. Time to go back to the guild!” Alex said hurriedly. The fear was clear in his tone now and he was already backpedaling away from the cave mouth. He bumped into Brooke on his way and just said, “Who...whatever that was, it clearly wants to be left alone. I am not going down there without a really good reason. This is one of those times where we can just pride ourselves on doing most of a job. Maybe more seasoned guild members can help...whatever that is.”

As Leon takes a few more steps forward, he can now begin to make out the back of the cave.... it's rather shallow, but there doesn't appear to be anything in there. Suddenly he is swept off his feet and sent flying backwards several meters, crashing into Alex.
"THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING, HUMANS! LEAVE! NOW! NEVER RETURN!"

Leon groaned as he was barreled into Alex, he carefully stood up helping Alex up while he did "Sorry Alex, I needed to make sure there was nobody hurt in here. But it doesn't look like there is...it's weird the back of the cave was empty." he said brushing himself off as he heard the voices final warning 'It called us Humans? Could that mean?' he thought taking his Poketome out of his shirt package as he flipped it open trying to see if it had any information about this invisible force.

The Tome seems to attempt to scan the area, but all it comes up with is scrolling through various ghost pokemon. It never settles on one, just keeps going around and around, like it can't decide.

"According to the PokeTome, this cave is filled with ghosts maybe, and from the sound of it these ghosts can talk," Leon said placing the Poketome back into his shirt package tying it up "Maybe the ghosts from the swamp come from this cave? I don't know why they'd all be gathered up here." Leon said scratching his head.

Alex was through with the cave now. The cave was creepy when he first came across it. It was scary when it started yelling at him. Now it was panic inducing when it started throwing people at him. After getting to his feet, Alex turned once again to leave. He started walking quickly while saying back to...no one, "I'm leaving now. Sorry to bother you. Good luck!" He then said to Leon, "The ghost in this cave could be guarding all the gold in the nearby region and I STILL wouldn't go in there. If you wanna look, I'll go back to the guild and send help. This is way above me." He then took off away from the mouth of the cave.

Yue runs back to the cave holding her container full of cinnamon buns over her head. "Everyone can stop panicking! I remembered where I left the cinnamon buns!" She smiles with relief, her fear that she would lose the tasty treats forever vanquished.

Brooke moves forward to help Leon up, bracing herself against a repeat onslaught (and incidentally getting ahold of his arm in case he tries to move into the cave again.) "Leon, c'mon. Whatever's in there, it sure as hell doesn't want us around. An' I know you're curious, but I don't think we got any call to go disturbing it."

Alex almost barrels into Yue as he’s trying to get away from the cave. He stops and tells her, “Don’t go into that cave. There’s a voice coming from inside and it just threw Leon at me. Brooke is trying to get Leon. I’m getting away from that cave!” He continues then to make his way away from the cave.
