"Worse than that. We take out the High Lord alone, that leaves four rivals to temporarily ally against the outsider. We'd be crushed, and only further Yaksha's own internal struggles." This was a tentative situation. Having identified their final target early gave temptation for rushing to a throne. But this was unwise; three gods couldn't run several countries alone, nevermind keep it from internal struggle.
A patsy would have to be acquired.
"I vote for the original plan. Take over one fort, befriend another. THEN we take down the sanctum."

"Agreed. Taking on one of the lords will leave them all off balance. Less risk." It still left too many unknowns for his liking. But there was no way around it. They were still too small and weak. And an outside invasion was an excellent unifier. "There's nothing to fear about in our initial assault. Only the political quagmire after. Our Croagunk will be enough of a force to give them pause should they move against us but only for so long. We shall need to make 'friends' quickly."

I'm not going to say it was damage, but it was damage.

"Then we move." Yosei declares.
Jorōgumo is the nearest and newest of the settlements in Yaksha, discovered by the wear of it's structures and the age of the timbers used to build it. Like all of the towns in the region, it is surrounded by a low wall (about eight feet) with two entrances placed on opposite sides of the structure. The power base itself is mostly wood and paper, following traditional japanese architecture. Several buildings stand out as being large and important, though these have no clear labeling to identify them as anything more than residences for wealthy merchants or otherwise. The town possesses a market, several small farming paddies surrounding the walls, a mine, and businesses for both food and recreation. The local figurehead seems the lovelorn sort who eagerly falls for a pretty face, but there are rumors that many of these go missing. He isn't seen in public often.
How do you make your approach, and does Yosei join you?
