Read the clipnotes while building. Probably read the whole thing after class. Here's Clairence Blackthorn, Dragon Ace, Herald of Pride, and a bit of a Duelist.

For your perusal: Owen Vander! His parents wanted a Psychic but they got a rebellious Badass Normal instead. His team might get tweaked a little, and I still need to sort out the rest of his inventory, but fluff and Trainer crunch are pretty much final.

A few quick questions as I finally get to work on building my character:
In the rules-tweak doc, Oracle solely relies on Perception. In the core rule book, Oracle relies on Perception AND Intuition. I'm going to be focusing pretty heavily on Intuition as I build my character as a Channeler; would it be okay to use Intuition to qualify for the Oracle features listed in the tweak doc?
In the setting doc, you mention that the legends Red and Blue were able to change the minimum journey age. Would it be plausible for a character to go into the League challenge with the intention of winning and changing the laws around Pokemon cruelty?
Lastly, in my quest to make a largely-supporting character not entirely combat-incompetent, I'm considering picking up Hunter (because I forgot Telepath requires EC Psychic, which can't be taken with Mystic Senses). Hunters tend to be kinda reliant on items, and also on having a fair few Pokemon out at once. I know full-contact League battles allow most Features and can be fairly lax, but am I allowed to bring out multiple Pokemon and shoot my foes with a net gun? Also, if I was allowed to have a solid number out at once and Channeled them all, would the sharing of intentions make them less likely to go off and do their own thing even if I didn't have an overly high Command rank?

- Red and Blue did not change anything to do with the laws. The reason they were so amazing and are now called "legendary" trainers, is due to the fact that they actually cleared the entire pokemon league at just 10-11 years old. The "default" age for Pokemon Trainers has always been 10. At least until Champion Lilith came to power. If you become the Champion, you are now in charge of the majority of laws within the country of Kanto. You still have to go through official channels, but you can change anything you like if you manage to get that far.
- I'll allow you to use Intuition for tweaked Oracle in place of Perception, so long as you have at least Novice perception to qualify.
- The net gun is a perfectly acceptable weapon in full-contact matches, but you'll still only have 1 pokemon out at a time outside of Double Battles or special encounters.
- Sorry, but no to Channeling making obedience checks easier (or removing them entirely). That'd be somewhat unfair to other players to begin with, and it's easier for you to just keep your Pokemon below the level cap until you earn a new badge.

In order:
Sorry, misunderstood - I thought Red and Blue were the ones who changed the laws once they became Champions. Still, makes sense.
I can definitely get down at least Novice perception (and was planning to do so anyway), thanks!
Limiting to only two Pokemon will seriously sting as Hunter, but I get it. Oh well, I guess I'll have to pray for some of those "special encounters" so I can really go in (that or pick another class). Special encounters include wild battles sometimes, right?
I think I didn't communicate properly - I'm not trying to skip obedience checks for overleveled Pokemon, that'd definitely be broken. What I was referring to was the limitation of only commanding one Pokemon at a time without features like Focused Command. It's going back to the Hunter multi-battle thing - ordinarily, I'd expect to have to make a Command check when getting a full team of six to charge a foe without accidentally hitting each other or prioritizing a different target, but I was kind of hoping that Channeler would allow me to avoid that...?

There are unlikely to be times when you can field a full team of six. Remember that in these "special encounters" you'll often be fighting alongside of allies and their Pokemon. The field would get crowded fast doing that. Also, Focused Command is not allowed in the first place, just to be clear.

Yeah, the more I think about this the less Hunter feels like a good class choice - it benefits from having multiple allies working together closely, and most battles in this campaign seem to limit me to exactly two people on my side at any given time. I guess I should figure out something else.

I play a Hunter in a campaign, and it works just fine with one mon out. Two is even better. Sure, you don't get as many pack hunt procs, but it has other tools as well.

Yes, that's the one. Run by a friend of mine, despite how slow he is at posting stuff on occasion. Work's a hassle for him.

Pokédex has finally been sorted.
Caterpie/Metapod/Butterfree removed and replaced with Froakie/Frogadier/Greninja Pikachu/Sandslash/Nidoran(F) removed and replaced with Nincada/Ninjask/Shedinja Nidorina/Clefairy/Wigglytuff removed and replaced with Piplup/Prinplup/Empoleon Gastly removed and replaced with Tropius Dugtrio removed and replaced with Meowth Oddish/Gloom removed and replaced with Horsea/Seadra
I stopped at Seadra because I assumed starting with a Kingdra wouldn't be allowed, since he needs to be holding an evolutionary item to reach that stage.
Pokédex count is still at 58.
Edit 3/28: Also added his Gym Badges to his Inventory. He has the Badges from Pewter, Cerulean, and Vermilion.

Alrighty. I think I am finally in near finished state with James Joy, the Forest Healer! There's most likely something I have missed, but for the most part, I think i'm happy with how it turned out. (Edit: Try that one. You know, the one I can actually share since I forgot to click that box like a doof.)
