Truth of hubris, Keno thought, 'Gypsy was too strong for the last one.'
He looked at the time, and all that he'd wasted thus far. Was a small rabbit worth the effort? it was better than a disqualification.
'Fast approach,' Keno lobbed a pokeball at the unsuspecting creature, this would let him know if he was assulting a pet or not. Additionaly, he wasnt looking to start a fight on someone elses lawn. The ball would likely trigger the fight or flight instinct, if it didn't simply capture outright.

Tori grinned as she stashed the newly filled Pokeball, her mind already brimming with devious possibilities for the Klefki's talents. Her expression soured as she approached the source of the barking, though. Pink was definitely not her color. "Eww... well, Getty, we gonna let this ugly mug give us that kinda attitude?" The Smink seemed finally roused by the aggressive dog, leaping to the slushy ground to pace in front of Tori. Remembering to scan it with her phone first this time, she pointed at the canine. "Get 'em, Getty!" With an unspecific command from its new trainer, the Smink acted on its own initiative. It seemed to be trying to work up some fire, but all the inexperienced Pokemon managed with its mouth full was to belch out a blast of foul-smelling smoke at the dog. Getaway used Smog! 9 vs AC 7, 14 Special Poison Damage

Barry, the bug stares at you for a few minutes before a gust of wind blew more dust on its body. It curled up a little and realized that it can't stay too long out here. Though it could simply descend back into its hole, it squirms toward the ball.
John, the dog slowly approached your offer of jerky, obviously deciding that it needed to eat now. Its tongue reached out to lap it off your fingertips. A shock of static could be felt on contact.
Tazukie, the ball took the buneary by surprise and consumed it in a flash of light. After shaking once, the ball broke open and the pokemon looked at you angrily. It uncurled its ears and started stomping around in the snow.
Tori, the dex says to you, "Snubbull, a fairy pokemon. Snubbull have strong jaws and sharp fangs that make them seem very intimidating. Studies have shown that, when it bites something, it has a habit of never letting go without a fight. Despite this, this pokemon is very friendly to humans, approaching them to either play or ask for food. Domesticated individuals are very popular with women for this nature. It is also treated as a weakling by other canines, and is bullied by them due to its cowardly nature."
The snubbull got hit by the cloud of smog from the smaller pokemon, causing it to cough and snort through its short nose. Tears welled up in its eyes as it whimpered in pain.

In response, it started to turn tail and run.

"There is plenty more food where that comes from, if you want to come with me." John said as soothingly as he could. Then placed the pokeball in front of him, unwrapped the candy bar and offered it to the dog once again.

Tori was almost too distracted by her 'dex to notice the dog running away. "Huh. I guess maybe you're not that uncool. Almost kinda feel sorry for... hey! Get back here!" she shouted as it tried to flee. She was betting her lizard was faster, though. "Getty, don't lose it!" The lizard comically plowed a divot in the snow as it tried to accelerate before surging forward, body slamming into the Snubbul and clinging to it desperately. With the Smink trying to hold it down, Tori managed to dig out another Pokeball and lobbed it. Getty's Athletics (20) vs Snubbul's Athletics or Combat. If it fails, it's Grappled!

Barry sits back and, kinda holds his breath. He mumbled to himself, “Please get in the ball. Please get in the ball. You can do it little fella.” Barry doesn’t want to fight it if he doesn’t have to. The dex made it sound pretty dangerous. He didn’t want to risk Sitri being injured on the first day. He glanced back towards Oliver and crossed his fingers. He was trying to let him know that he hoped it would get in.

John, the dog bit the candy bar as quickly as it did with the jerky. However, after a few seconds of swallowing a piece, he started to look worse than before and collapsed onto the ground.
Tori, the snubbull was tackled by Getty, who tried its hardest to keep the pokemon still. The snubbull responded by fighting just as hard to get him off. Eventually, the snubbull won, and started barking ferociously at him. This made enough of a distraction for your pokeball to hit it, and it vanished in a flash. The ball's light began to blink and it shook a few times before it stopped moving.
Barry, the larva pressed the button with its face before it went inside, escaping the cold wind and getting into your party.

John pressed the pokeball onto the dog.

"All right!" Barry said as he hopped into the air excitedly. His first catch as a trainer. Sure it didn't look too strong now, but Barry knew bugs. They grow fast. He had no idea what this one would grow into, but he knew it would be there soon.
He looked back at Oliver and said, "Let's head back. Reckon that won't be good if we stay out too much longer." He said pointing at Oliver's pant legs where the water was starting to freeze over a bit. "Appreciate ya having my back though. I didn't know what was gonna come outta that thing."

John, the pokeball grabs the dog without a problem. The ball doesn't shake before it locks, confirming a capture. However, the light is still blinnking. A purple skull flashes on the button.

John, Dr. Joy looks at the pokeball and placed it on the machine. She turned it on and an image of the pokemon appeared on screen. She tried to activate the usual healing program, but a hazard symbol appeared and the screen turned orange. A panel opened on the wall below and she typed several keys. She said, "It seems that your pokemon is poisoned by something it just ate. The machine is indicating traces of beef jerky and... chocolate?!" She looks to one of the audino. "Quick, get the operating room ready! We need to pump his stomach now!"

Tori whooped at her second successful capture. "Oh yeah! I think we're gettin' the hang a' this, Getty. That's prolly enough... let's go show off to the guys!" No way they'd found anything better than her! Valentine was soo awesome, and... well, the dog really wasn't her type, but it looked tough at least. Maybe she could swindle one of the other interns out of something cooler, or swap with a local if that didn't pan out. Once her Smink returned to his pocket hideout, Tori hurried back the way she came, whistling tunelessly as she kept an eye out for the others.

John, as they entered the emergency room, the Dex had this to say. "Electrike, a lightning pokemon. Electrike has thick fur that builds up energy in the form of static electricity. This is released into the nervous and muscular systems to increase the Pokemon's speed and reaction time. It was once bred for police to pursue criminals, but was then changed to a type of race dog. They are not very popular pets due to their habit of chasing card and their sensitive diets. They are allergic to chocolate, avocados, and certain berries based on nature."
Keno, a small pokemon started yipping at the rabbit and chased it off the lawn. It stopped, when it noticed you looking at it. Its shivering body was covered in long, silky, matted brown fur and its eyes were huge. It seems to sniff the air, unsure of what to make of you.

The wasn't time for this, his nervers were tensing, this contest was going... Poorly. He flipped open his Dex and gave a scan of the newcomer. He didn't want to fight an owned Pokemon on its own lawn. At least there was an argument to a street of alley.
Keno readied Corphish and tried to follow the rabbit.

Keno, the dex said, "Lillipup, a puppy pokemon. This canine is very intelligent, able to reasonably sense if an opponent is too powerful for it before it attacks. If it senses it can't win, it will turn tail and flee. As a pet, this dog is popular for people in apartments, because it doesn't yelp when it's scared and it only barks when it sees something it wants to fight, which is very rare. It was bred to help new trainers be more cautious when picking their fights."
You easily track the trail of the buneary by following its tracks in the snow while leaving the dog behind you. You can hear it turning tail and running away to one of the other lawns. The tracks of your quarry, lead behind one of the houses, past the backyard, and into a small plain with tall grass and a single tree. Several meters behind it, you can see more houses at another street.
Barry, you notice something out of the corner of your eye. It almost looked like something yellow and black standing there, but as you moved in front of it, it made a flash of light.

Barry, still seeing spots right now, gasps as the flash goes off. He uses his arm to cover his eyes and takes a step back. "Ollie, did ya see what did that? I can't see anything at the moment. Don't let it get away!" Barry says rubbing his eyes with his forearm. That wasn't what he was expecting to happen.
