This ghost was, somehow, not quite within Ulrich's expectations, and a strikingly different sort than the Golett to boot... It was curious, but a topic for later. His own "mouth" not so suited for smiling (or any other expression, for that matter), the Yamask met the devilish grin impassively and affirmed, "Be respectful of the village's boundaries, respect the villagers and their possessions. Those seem easy enough, yes..." With this body's needs, it seemed easier than easy, really.
Ulrich asked, "If by chance I find an item that looks lost, is there some place where I should bring it? Some collection of lost items the unfortunate owner might go in hopes of finding their departed possessions?" It seemed like anything lost outside was forfeit, but he kept that thought to himself.

The Hughshow does encounter some manner of dispensery, though where it's labelled as 'Bug Juice' on the outside, he can't help but question a little. The sign is small, but hand-painted, depicting some sort of reddish fluid in a stone bowl. The shop itself is accessible through a burrow small enough that it would require the Machoke to crawl on his hands and knees! Could alcohol possibly be worth such an indignity?!
Taking in the town broad spectrum as Evan is, he finds more core services and staples then the other's might've. In addition to the hostel-like services Diana offers, the archeological style of the Magnemite he'd encountered earlier, and now a hospital, the Dunsparce finds...
Grocers, dealing in berries almost primarily. A currently unoccupied section made up of nine woven reed mats laid out in a square, a nearby tree marking it as a 'dojo'. There also appears to be a small yellow and green ball of some kind, with short scissor like antennae and white eyes stitching leaves together on a stump. No visible signs around it, but you've seen it pass goods to more than one individual that stopped by.
"There is a bounty board organized in the guild house for that, usually. If it's not posted there, odds are good no one's missing it too much and it's yours." He flashed Ulrich yet another toothy smile. "I like to deal in gold bars myself. Too hard to make into P, and so beautiful. I can offer you some things I've... found in exchange."

Evan's quite happy to note that there are foods suitable for consumption for him in the city... although, granted he doesn't actually have any way to pay for it right now. So, that's a different obstacle altogether.
He's intrigued by the unmarked Pokémon, though. After a few moments consideration, he slithers up to the Pokémon, asking, "Pardon to intrude, but... what is it that you're doing? I just arrived here... so I'm trying to figure out everything that's here. It seemed like you might be some sort of vendor, but I don't see any signs... so I figured the best thing to do was ask."

"Alc-o-hol?" The Gunshow says quietly, scratching his head in confusion. Now where had that thought come from? Hugh knew exactly where it came from however and made a tight lip. So that's how it was going to be, eehhh? Bah! Such a tiny little hole. And yet, such pay off! But maybe less so for the Gunshow. Erhrm. He had to admit to himself, the Gunshow wasn't much of a drinker. But it was still a curious thing, and curious things made the Gunshow curious. So, the Hughshow crouched lightly at the entrance of the burrow and rapped noisily. "Hellooooo? Anyone home?"

How common a treasure were gold bars? No, before that, by what arcane method did the creatures of Gol make gold bars in the first place? It was... slightly baffling. Klei had good taste in valuables, though.
"...aha. Thank you for your help, elder. I'll keep your offer in mind if I encounter any bullion." The Yamask promised, not altogether convinced it would ever find any (or get any they somehow found away from Evan), but intrigued all the same. "But for now, I would like to continue exploring The Living Pillars."

"Oh, I sew dearie. Protectives, satchels, accessories, I can even make perfumes with the right items if you've your eye on a special girl, hohoho..." The round insect spoke in an elderly voice despite her youthful appearance. "You must be new around here, everyone knows ol' Etna." She squints at Evan with her white eyes. "Ah, a digger, must not come topside too often, I understand, I do! It's bright up here, and I get awful sleepy sometimes."
"Yah we open, stop making such a racket and get in, yah blocking th'door!" Called a stern voice from inside. Further down the tunnel, phosphorescent fungi light a second entrance that seems to open into a bigger space. Several silhouettes move about in the light inside.
"Keep to yourself and you won't cause any trouble. For either of us." There were some heavy, potentially dark implications to the larger ghost's tone, but with a metallic clatter and snap Klei settled back into the position he'd been in when Ulrich found him, a motionless gold sarcophagus.

"Oh. Hello." Whispers the Gunshow, peering quietly into the magical burrow of al-co-hol. Hrmm. It was going to be a bit of tight squeeze, but he was much too curious to turn back now! The Gunshow plunges himself into the depths without too much of a thought. In a way, it was kind of comfy!

"Oh, tell me about it," Evan agrees, "The sun feels nice and all, but sometimes it just gets to be too much, and you just want to hole up underground."
"And yes, I am new around here. Just arrived today in fact," he reiterates. It's fascinating what all these Pokémon can do with nothing but their own innate abilities. "I already have a bag, but I'll keep you in mind if I need anything else." His curiosity gets the better of him. "What sort of things do you use to make perfumes?"

Oh, the joys of dealing with a solitary creature. In retrospect, maybe such a bold approach had been unwise? As Ulrich reflected on the meeting, he drifted away from the senior ghost. He was, of course, going to reject Klei's warning... Not that it was his goal was to cause trouble.
At any rate, since he was at the fringe of the village in the first place, now was an opportune time to map out the boundaries of the Living Pillars. Klei had mentioned trees that enclosed the village, so the first order was to find one of them.

"Berries, flowers, a little dream mist here and there. Some Pokemon have wonderfully alluring scents on their own. Honey is a new favorite, but I suppose that could attract the wrong sort of attention." She chuckled at her own joke. "Anything with a strong scent can be made into a perfume."
Hugh remembers this form of crawling. It was something they made you do in basic, but the vents were much cleaner and hotter then this place. A cool dampness permeated the air, with an earthy smell behind it. Squeezing into the space beyond the small tunnel, was a sizeable hollow. Not quite high enough a ceiling for him to stand. Behind a counter, little more than a chewed on root to make the surface flat, was a red rock with a series of holes in it, and yellow tubes poking out of the holes. It looked up at Gunshow with a flat expression. Nearby, a purple creature with black and red markings, looking like a humanoid frog was drinking something that smelled strongly sweet. A flat, brown disk with yellow markings and a smug expression was on the floor to the left of the entryway. "Yah what'll it be?" The noodle rock asked in a crass tone.
Taking in the details of the wood, Ulrich finds the boundary of the 'Town', a ring of trees that no longer seem to follow the random placement as the rest of the wood does. Twice as thick as a man, spaced equal distance apart. In his wanderings he observes Pokemon gathering food from bushes in the area, and some sort of hard nut-like item from similar trees. There is also a strange green glob that seems to lack any of the typical biology sleeping at the base of a tree all but stripped of it's resources. It's beady eyes shut, mouth open. It jiggles and vibrates with soft apparent-snores.

"Yes, I'd much like to avoid smelling more like dinner," he says, wryly. "Well, Etna, thank you for your time. It was quite enlightening. But I feel like I should see more of what this place has to offer. Do you have any suggestions?"

"What... Will it be? What is it in the face of the great universe?" Gunshow replies tiredly as he ponderously places his hand upon his chin. This place was too small. And ah! Gunshow was getting into the waxing philosophical moods. This was dangerous. His body collapses down into a rough cross-legged position. The Hugh took control of the body and replied more firmly. "Oh! But what do you have here? This is the Gunshow's first visit."
His eyes move about, adjusting to the dim. Yes. Much too small. And much too smelly! Nothing like Hugh's sterile home, and certainly nothing like the bars. It was unnerving, yes?

Observing as the local Pokemon toiled away, Ulrich pondered whether they cultivated any crops, too. It warranted a follow-up investigation later. In the meanwhile, were they using any tools to help their harvest?
But observing the locals from afar would only yield so much. Disturbing them while they worked would only cause trouble, and so the Yamask loomed over its unlucky prey. From a short distance away, he declared, "Oi. You there, how long are you going to sleep, hmm? It's time to move." Not that Ulrich knew how long it had been dozing for.

"We're a fairly insular community sweetie, if I'm honest, once you've seen the shops and met the movers and shakers of living pillars, not a lot here. I've heard there's bigger places outside of the mountains, but that's probably just the whimsy of children." She pulled her leaves a little tighter around herself and couldn't stifle a yawn (lacking arms made politeness difficult).
"Fermented Berry Juice mostly. Got a wider selection then that, but yer new in town, betting you ain't got the scratch for it." The noodle rock replied. "Burns a bit going down, but it's good for you, nice fruity aftertaste too." It explained in that crass tone.
"Long as I want ya rotter, piss orff!" One of the gel-creature's eyes slid open and it followed the rebuttal with a wet belch. "Didn't no one go and make you th'lord of berries or wot, nonya business." The eye slid closed again.

"Oh, really? I wonder what those would be like," he muses. "Well, thank you again for your time." He bows his head trying to get that across, before heading off to find what other things are in the town... and maybe see what the others have gotten up to.

The Gunshow shifted uncomfortably. No, not because he was uncomfortable, but instead because the noodly rock thing was freaking out the Hugh. Just... What was this thing? Was it just a pile of noodles in a rock? The top part was probably it's face, but it looked almost exactly like it's arms. Why did it look like that? What was this thing? What?! "I suppose, I will try little bit." Replies the Gunshow. Pulling one of the coins from the inside of his belt, he places it on the counter in front of the jiggly rock creature. "This pays for it, yes?"

What a vulgar creature. This was quite possibly the most unsightly specimen they had encountered to date... and certainly the rudest. Well, there was no helping it. "Hah. And here I thought I'd found the most sensible one in this forest. Such a pity." The Yamask lamented before offering, "I'm much more fair than any lord; just a few questions and you can get back to your business."

Rosebud descends on outstretched vine from the canopy, before dropping heavily to the ground and shaking out his feet. Bounding along after Three, he seems to be in high spirits. "I saw Gunshow crawl into that hole." He pointed with with a jerk of his head. "Ulrich wandered off somewhere. I'm so glad I came this time Ev....Three!" For once, the Professor's enthusiasm shined through in the Pokemon.
"That'll do er, yes." The noodle rock took the coin in it's mouth and tossed it behind its little body. Turning, it gives itself a little shake, and tilts up against a bowl of carved wood. A moment later, smelling strongly of mashed and fermented berries, Gunshow is awarded his prize! It is a deep purplish red, darker then blood.
"If yer not leavin till yer gums done flappin' get'et over with." The blob gave the closest equivalent to a stretch, deforming to a slightly oblong shape before settling into it's resting space once more.

Evan jumps at the thudding and suddenness of the descent, but relaxes a little bit when he realizes that it's just Rosebud. "Well, I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying yourself," he says, nodding. "This really is a strange and wonderful place." He looks back towards the hole that Rosebud had pointed to, before glancing back to the Bulbasaur, then upwards. "I should probably go check up on him. But, uh, what were you doing up there, if I might ask?"

"Oh... Gunshow think he understand society now. Money is traded for prizes!" The burly Fighting Type exclaims. When Gunshow did good thing, white cloaks gave him something to eat. Not always good something, but it was sometimes good. Now, when he does good things, others might give him this money, and then for money, he might be able to buy shiny things! How industrious!
Grabbing the little bowl in the nest of his hand, he quickly gives the drink a strong sniff. This was mostly futile, as Machokes are not known for the strength of their noses. But! It did look like it tastes good, so the Gunshow wastes no time in downing the liquid. If trying new things, it was best to try it in the most manliest of manners!
