The Hugh bristled with anger. "Inconceivable." The Hughshow mutters, placing a hand on his chin. It was the locals who struck first, surrounding the site. The lads on the shuttle quickly took up a defensive position and when they thought they lives were in danger, they acted righteously to defend it. Of this however, he said nothing. No. Saying anything on this matter would be a true mistake. Rather, he backs off a bit, and the Gunshow's happy nature takes over.
"Well. That is unfortunate! Gunshow will have to talk to Sky God and get permission then!" He quips. This made sense to the Gunshow, but the Hugh was already making second plans...

"I'll try," he says, rubbing back up against her, aware that this would be for perhaps the last time, "But, I don't know if I could be any of those things away from here. Thank you for all that you've done, Sheila. At least, as I travel, I'll always have a part of you with me." He inclines his head towards the pouch as he says that, before doing his best to put it on.
With that, and a heavy heart, Evan makes his way back outside, wondering if he'll ever see the burrow from this perspective again.

Their story more or less matched up with what Ulrich knew... Accounting for the understandable bias from a local source. On that note, though, one had to wonder just what sort of creature these Pokemon would revere as a god. He could ask at another time though, for now the researcher inquired, "Most unfortunate. It wasn't as though they could descend again in secret though, so why forbid entry entirely? Hmm, for that matter, does anyone enforce that decree, or is it up to the individual to not venture into the strange and unknown?"

Rosebud considered Three's expression as he again left the barrow, a pouch balanced between his wings now. His face scrunched up in thought for a moment, but he didn't speak for some time as they moved away from those tunnels and into a better spot to view the upward rise of their pillar. "I'm glad you found someone you can talk to." There was no framing for the statement, no segue, just a genuine statement of emotional fact. It was both like, and unlike Rosewood. He sat heavily on a rock and squinted up into the mid-afternoon sun. "It's so barren up here, and yet I see no sign of them."
"There may be someone in the community that can tell you more of that place, but I never returned to it after that day. As to the Sky God... it has been as long as anyone I've ever met remembers. We see it on rare occasion but it is a giant being of incredible strength, that controls the weather and protects us from the incursions of the Reverse World..." She explains as you reach the lip leading down into the boulder field. Below, a blotch of green and orange sits in the open.

"I've heard it said that it's better to have loved and lost than to never loved at all," Evan says, being a little less wary of sounding alien now that the two are alone. "Until now... I did not believe it. Because sometimes just the memory of something is enough to drive you onwards, even if you may never see it again." He thinks of Sheila, the little snakelings, even Mica. All experiences that he was glad to have had (well, except for the almost being eaten part). It gives him a warm and fuzzy feeling inside, helped by the feeling of the pouch between his useless little wings.
"So, uh," he asks, at last, as Rosebud looks around, "Is there anything I should be looking out for in particular? Do you have any idea where we're headed, or are we just hoping to stumble into them?"

The Hughshow nods along happily, not quite completely understanding this, but politely happy to be hearing about it. "Oh no fear. Gunshow will find way. Perhaps I will talk to Kiai. He big, smart, and strong. The Gunshow can respect such a powerful creature!"
The strong, muscular creature smiles. Then frowns. And then he stops, slapping his head. "Oh! Gunshow nearly forgot! Gunshow needs to go see friends. Will you be safe going down mountain on own?"

The Yamask gave its best approximation of a bewildered look (which ended up being identical to a regular look) at that announcement, and Ulrich reflexively coughed to hide his shock. Not that a Yamask had lungs...
Once he had recovered, Ulrich affirmed, "Yes. That was why we were in the Labyrinth in the first place..." Not quite willing to abandon their investment though, he waited for the saurian's answer before heading down the mountain once more.

"It may sound a little like playing god, but Three could have stayed and the task been left to another. Rosebud offered vaguely, as they were still unsure how much retention the Pokemon had from these experiences. "Hugh and Ulrich initially remained with the landing pod, I was eager to explore and parted ways with you here on the mountain. I was hoping they would still be up there somewhere."
(Perception from Evan please.)
"My arms being full makes fighting hard, and I am still pretty injured. If you were going to the valley, could I accompany you Mister TheGunShow?" Diana hefted the Hawlucha pointedly in her arms, giving the side of its face an affectionate pat.
(Perception from Hugh and Ulrich please.)

Evan remains silent at Rosebud's suggestion. He very well could have... but that felt wrong. He didn't even know the other Pokémon that he could pilot, except for Sheila. He didn't know their circumstances. And Sheila... he couldn't justify leaving her children alone, with just three for protection. They relied on her for food, for comfort, for protection. Instead, he simply casts his gave around, commenting dryly, "It's a rather big place. Even if they're still on the mountain, I don't know if we'd necessarily be able to just see them."Perception: 16

"Oh of course! Gunshow was being silly. We shall accompany you wherever you need to go!" Says the Fighting wonder and wall of muscle as he stares directly at the sun. "My goodness! Has sun always been this bright? Gunshow never noticed! Hello sun!" Perception!

It took a moment for the Yamask to process that jolly declaration. When it did, it launched into a rather alarmed, "You- stop that! Of course the sun looks brighter from the Surface." Ulrich gloomily began drifting down then, complaining, "How would I explain something so absurd to...? Fine, fine. Gunshow. This is important. Keep an eye on the mountain, that rock-snake could be nearby. You wouldn't want it sneaking up on your charge, would you?" Perception: 17

Three and Ulrich each notice the other's party despite the great distance. It is difficult -not- to notice something black and gold against the tan of the rocks, and while the Dunsparce's colors are lighter, Ulrich can pick out the light blue rings around the landsnake's eyes even with it's body blending into the rocks.

"Or they could be right over there..." he remarks, dryly, spotting the reflective gold surface of Ulrich's mask. Shiny. "Well, at least that was much less painful than it could have been." He begins the wriggling trek over towards the ghost.

"Rock-Snake?! Where!?" Replies the Hughshow. His eyes dance about wildly. They catch upon a nearby boulder and he punches his fists together with great pleasure.
"Ohohoho! You have returned at last Not-Rock-Snake! I can sense it! Our last battle ended to quickly simply to end it there, oh yes. We require yet more battle, more force! We shall shake the earth dear Not-Rock-Snake, shake it vigorously! Blow after blow, blow after blow! Thunderous crashing! Rocks smashing! Fists flying with heavenly grace as two souls entangle themselves in grace! Oh we shall battle dear Not-Rock-Snake, and I know that it is I, the Gunshow that will win! Oh yes, oh yes my dear Not-Rock-Snake, hohohohoho! HOHOHOHOHHOOOOO! MAaaaCHOOOOOOKE."

It wasn't possible... Was it? There was no trace of the creature nearby, and the odds of something that large hiding, even in this environment... Oh. They had fallen for a decoy. "How embarrassing..." Ulrich muttered quietly, sinking toward the ground.
From that vantage point, he noticed an unusual sight. Something was, slowly but surely, approaching him - a ghost? Something yellow, and with familiar blue bands... Before Hugh's battle-cries could echo too far, Ulrich cautioned, "Err. Good work, I do believe you scared the wretched serpent off again. He must not have been ready for a rematch. Oh, well." Pointing toward the blue and yellow splotch in the distance, he continued, "I would rather not have to chase Three back down, though, so save that fighting spirit for after our meeting."

"I scared them off ehh? Good! Good for the Gunshow! I flex in glory! Hoohah!" And lo! The Gunshow flexed and it was good. But what was the Ulrich up to, what with the gesturing and the- Oh. Oh!
"Ah! Gunshow sees the Three. Hello Three! The Gunshow sees you now!"

"Thankfully the mountain is bare, else it would've taken a small eternity to locate them." A short stint later, and the two scientists, the psychologist, and their well meaning muscle were again a 'functioning' unit. Diana considered the Bulbasaur and the Dunsparce, still hefting the strange, bright red-and-green humanoid bird in her arms.

Evan looks up at the other Pokémon regarding him. "Oh, uh, hello," he says, before looking at Ulrich and Gunshow, "I see that you found a friend. Or two."

"Oh yes! I helped beat them up in strange cave!" The Gunshow offers with a smile. "This is Diana. She is shopkeep on these mountains. She is no longer gone crazy, so she is friendly. Gunshow is doing good task of helping her back to safety."
The Gunshow of course, wishes to continue speaking on this line. However, Hugh considers this a moment and quickly quashes the idea. No. Revealing the hows and whys of their business right before this unfamiliar creature would probably be more than a little bit dangerous. But the Gunshow still wanted to talk about something so perhaps a more, conversational tone would be best? He looks at the small Bulbasaur and suddenly his eyes go wide. "Ah yes! Little Rosebud! The Professor! She says 'Hello!'"

Bobbing up and down slowly, Ulrich returned with, "Greetings Three, Rosebud. It's as Gunshow described. The saurian... Diana... and her friend investigated the network Architect recently opened, but a property inherent to it causes rage in its trespassers." Glossing over a few details for brevity, he explained, "They lack the means to return to their village safely, and we planned to travel there shortly, so an arrangement was made."
Running through the rest of the relevant details, Ulrich warned, "Said network is called 'The Labyrinth', and appears as an impossible to navigate maze, much like its namesake. Without a Golett to assist travel, we concluded there is minimal immediate risk to the other end. The Golett remained near the access point."
