11:05AM, Day 1, January 1090 After one crazy (or not, depending what each student does) New Year prom party last night, the graduation ceremony is finally here, the event every student has strived for over the past three years, and more for those who have been detained, but the most important thing is to make it and all of the "to-be" graduates do. Keldeo's party has the reputation of the craziest, with drug use being common and everyone expressing their artistic side on the stage. That part turns out to be true to an extent because those things do happen this year, although the students know how to cover each other over their "weed usage" and no one has been caught. Some students even spent the night in the hall, completely drunk out of their mind and slept on the ground like batch of corpses until the students volunteered for cleaning wake them up this morning. Thankfully the Keldeo rarely cares about their students and formality as they would be in trouble if they were in other school like Cobalion. The graduation ceremony takes place at the hall of Keldeo, with the most artistically beautiful inner wall and design among the halls of all four schools. The wall were hand-painted by a group of volunteering alumni ten years ago. With dress code being non-existent and students being overly crazy on prom night, some of them are wearing untidy shirts and hairs resembling someone in walk of shame found in movies. After a speech from the headmaster, the students are queue up in a line to go up the stage one by one to receive their "trainer package": trainer ID, Pokedex and starter's Pokeball. As this graduation is usually done on Monday, including this year's, and students are from all over the regions, not many families attend the ceremony. For the few who do, mostly the locals, it is extra special for the graduates themselves. It takes two hours for the ceremony to be done and it is really just a formality more than anything as "I don't care" is written on the faces of many students the whole time. Some of them might just be hangover on either alcohol or drug...or both. A small-scale tea party follows right after the ceremony in Room 110. With a quick glance, one can see that most the foods are re-heated leftovers(that, of course, won't work as Leftovers in game) from the party last night(one of them is what Yuan prepared for the party). There are a few new dishes available, made by volunteers this morning, and also a two big bowls of drinks. One is ginger tea, effective in preventing further nausea and the bowl is green tea, best for easing off the headache found at the bottom of every wine bottle. Taking a quick look around, one can see that some of the students had already left. Some of them have their own family celebration plan and the others simply cannot wait one second longer to start their journey. Majority of students do stay to hang around with their fellow alumni and to meet their Pokemon in a happy atmosphere. As for Sam and Yuan, the world is your Cloyster, the two of you are free to do whatever you want, whether it be looking for traveling companion, searching for more Pokemon in the wild, going to another city or town by train, walk the Earth, hang around in the city, look for money-earning opportunity and any other options on the near-infinite list of things-to-do. Despite the two of you have been living in Dinisfora City for years now, the surrounding remains largely unknown to both of you. There is no need to feel bad though as normal people have no reason to learn about the surrounding. Being mostly rural and tribal area, the surrounding does not even get featured much in history books of Varius, except for books focused on this part of the region. Both of you are well aware that there are four directions to go out of the city. Going south get you to the most rural environment of Varius and slowly moving away from civilization itself. The first town you will reach on south is the final hub before the many routes to different tribes and such. North, east and northwest all get you to somewhere else but as far as you all know, they the thick forest is the only biome you will be traveling in in any of the three ways you choose to go. Further information can be found in the train station, a common place to go for new trainers whether to ride the train or take up some information before their long jungle trekking trip.

Peck Peck Peck
A series of quick pokes against Yuan's head made him stir a bit, groaning loudly as he flopped over. His body ached all over, and he was experiencing a massive throbbing in his head. The poking stopped for a bit.
Peck Peck Peck
The poking was relocated to his much more tender rear, causing Yuan to swipe lightly in the general direction as he eyes slowly opened up to the blinding light of the morning sun. Variously blobs and shape slowly refined themselves. Within a split second another blob entered into his view, this time sporting brownish colors. The blob hopped forward for a bit before he felt the same pokes against his throbbing forehead.
Peck Peck Peck
The realizing that the poking was painful finally set in, as Yuan quickly sat upright. With one hand on his forehead, he used the other to rub all the gunk from his eyes before looking back down at the thing responsible for making his throbbing head even worse. The brownish blob soon developed into a creature with wings, and a beak, along with an angry-ish look to its face. Yuan, of course knew right away what this pokemon was. It was one of the wild Spearows who lived around the Campus. First year students often hated them because they had food swiped by them, but they general just go to the fields and feed there. The Pokemon simply looked up with is signature glare, before hopping over to nibble on one of his fingers. Once the Pokemon saw Yuan reel them away, it spread its wings and flew away.
"Urgh... what did I do last night?" He groaned as he rubbed his hair, only to feel a powdery substance in his hair, causing him to bring his hand down for inspection. On his fingers was a yellowish-brown powder, causing him to lick the powder and roll it around in his tongue. His eyes widened a bit once he realized what it was, Curry Powder.
"How did I get that in my... oh wait, I remember." Yuan muttered as he got up and tried to get the powder out of his hair. During the party he and another student got into an argument over something really stupid, likely involving the usage of wine in dishes where wine is not used. Thus, in their drunken stupor decided that a cooking duel was in order to settle the matter... which ended when a box of curry powder was tore apart, covering the both of them.
Yuan needed to at least look like he didn't walk out of an exploding pantry, so he went to one of the Keldeo fountains around the campus and quickly dunked his head into the water... which turned out to be a bad idea consider how friggen cold the water was in the morning. After shaking his head in the water, he pulled out as he gasped for air, flinging his head backwards.
As Yuan held onto the rim and panted, he felt the water dripping down the back of his neck and down his chest, his bangs getting in the way of his eyes. He soon began to noticed the state of his clothing... or what was left of it, to his horror.
His white linen shirt was cut clean down the middle, his sleeves covered in the same mixture that was in his hair, his jeans had so many holes in them, that it almost looked like he cut them for shits and giggles... which be probably did, all things considered. The worst part however was that on his chest was a red marker, with a phone number on it. Below that was a simple message, near his stomach.
"Don't be a stranger Yuan~” and just underneath that was the name of the supposed writer, "- Nicole” To the best of his knowledge, he couldn't quite remember who she was. She might have been a coordinator, which would explain why he couldn't remember her as well, and it would explain that outfit she wore...
"Oh by Arceus how drunk did I get last night to let that happen?" He said, groaning loudly just as he managed to catch the time from a nearby clock, it was almost 9am. His eyes widened as quickly realized that the graduation ceremony was taking place shortly. He booked it to the hall, trying to make sure he wasn't late. By the time he got there, the headmaster had just gotten up to the steps. As he straightened himself out, he tried his best to cover his chest. It was quite evident he was sporting a blush, a couple of giggles from some nearby girls didn't help much either.
For most of the ceremony, he dealt with his hangover the best he could, but the throbbing was present for most of it. By the time Yuan's name was called up, he quickly turned his shirt around and walked up to the stage. He grabbed his trainer package and went back down to his previous spot. Once everything was said and done, Yuan soon found himself hanging by the container of green tea, trying his best to get rid of his hangover. Most of the food nearby was just re-heated leftovers, one dish was his Curry. He wouldn't blame anyone for not having it, Hell he'd probably forgo it as of right now. Deciding that it might be a good time to see how his Pokemon fared with other food, Yuan pulled out his Pokeball and released Pansear.

What was supposed to be a great, happy day for Yuan started off as a colossal disaster. Sleeping in the middle of the road was one heck of an achievement if he were playing a game called "Drunk Challenge" and the faint laughter he heard over his sleep might not be a dream. They could be real people laughing at the "grass sleeper" as they passed him by. After poluting the fountain with his spicy-flavored hair and almost late to the graduation ceremony, Yuan would be glad to see that he was not alone in the hall. There were many - yes, many - students who had the same crappy look and clothing on them...and everyone was looking at him, much thanks to the door's loud creaking sound when he opened it.
Without any alternative option unless he was to miss the ceremony, Yuan resorted to a quick walk of shame to the closest free seat. Sitting in the last line, furthest from the podium, was him and many people who looked like him, as if they were the models of a hangover-themed fashion show. Samantha, the girl with the longest hair on the campus, was looking like a ghost from horor movie with her super messy hair covering all 360 degrees of her head. Alan, one of the prettiest boy of the campus, was wearing the "caesar's salad" of clothes. The coloring and style were all over the place. He did not look like he had a straighter mind than Yuan either. There were many others just like that, some reminded you of prisoners for some reason.
Thankfully to Arceus or whatever deity Yuan preferred, the ceremony went on just fine. The constant teasing you received from the "clean" students were getting repetitive by the end of it. Yuan should not be too sad about his curry though. From his brief count, every food had leftovers, some less, some more, but all of them were stil there. Not really surprising as your memory, what's left of it, told you that everyone went for the drinks like an hour into the party and the food was an afterthought by that time. The Pokemon sure loved the food though, many of them were consuming them on the table, a Tepig and a Croagunk was particularly eye-catching as they shoved anything they can grab down their throat immediately. You were not sure about their fighting capability but they could definitely make a career out of Pokemon competitive eating, if such thing existed.
It was indeed a good time to let the Pansear out, before all the food were gone, and the big-scaled Pansear come out right away, a meter away from you on the ground. Without any delay or hesitation, he rolled on the floor laughing with his finger pointing at you. Perhaps this Pansear knew fashion and found you to be ridiculous?

Yuan took small solace in the fact he wasn't alone with dealing with the aftermath of being drunk. Of course, the teasing from the 'clean' students got old really fast. On the plus side, he got all of the partying out of his system during that night. Although he learned to never trust anything Keith made in his closet. Yuan even cringed a little as he remembered the aftertaste of Keith's homebrew.
Once he let out Pansear, he was unprepared for what he did next... which was to just roll around and laugh at his expense. Yuan looked a little stunned for a bit, before he too began to laugh along with the Pokemon. "Heh, I bet I do look really stupid right now, don't I?" He asked with a snicker as he bent down to pick up Pansear. Unfortunately, the monkey's laughter did his throbbing no good, causing Yuan to grind his teeth a bit.
"Come on, go help yourself to some lunch, afterwards I'll change then we'll head out." Yuan explained as he lifted the Pansear to the table. They weren't kidding, he was a bit fatter than most Pansear. Luckily a more stable diet should fix that right up, and today was a celebration more than anything else. He would have tried to 'talk' to Pansear, but with his hangover he didn't think it would be such a good idea. Once he placed his Pokemon on the table, he tried to comb his hair the best he could, given he didn't have his brush right now. As he did so, he kept an ear open to see what everyone else was planning on doing.

The Pansear sure looked and felt, especially when Yuan lifted him to the table, bigger than the average one. People with knowledge might just call him fat and lazy but with all the nutrition knowledge you have gained in the past three years, you saw nothing but potential. Bulking up was not easy for most small-sized Pokemon, as they were genetically designed to be agile and lean so the Pansear was outside the norm for sure. Furthermore, his bulk was not all on his tummy but all around his body, a clear sign that his body was comfortable with the extra bulk and expendable upon training. All he needed to do was to mold the bulk of the Pansear into lean muscle through proper training and careful choice of daily diet, which would likely be the difficult part if the Pansear was as picky of an eater as his professor wrote. You could feel the contained heat inside the Pansear as you lifted him up and you knew he was friendly since then. Hostile Fire Pokemon were untouchable in generally as they could easily raise their body temperature to burn anyone who dare to lay an hand on them. On the table, the Pansear was standing there for a bit, shaking his head as he was trying to assess the Pokemon feast and how he could get onto the food without getting hit by all these crazy eaters. Upon seeing an opening as some Pokemon were moving to another food, the Pansear quickly dived in with a plate in his hand, frontflipped over a Budew and snatched some steaks with a display of great agility. He might be bigger than his kin but his agility has not been affected. Yuan would be happy to see(if he actually see it while being busy with his hair and eavesdropping) the Pansear went for his curry next, grabbing a few of the things inside and the a fair bit of the sauce before moving to the final part to take up some berries cakes for dessert. He had more foods to go but figured he could go for another round later on, not clever enough to consider the possibility of the food being completely devoured by all the other Pokemon. As he was down from the table, he immediately looked around to find you, hoping to share some of the food with you. In the mean time, Yuan spent his time trying to fix his hair while going around listening to what the others had in mind. The hall's washroom would be an easier place for him to fix his hair if he ever wanted to do so later on. As his fellow alumni, barring the few who were still slumping around the tea like he was few minutes ago, were all talking out loud, it was not hard to pick up what he wanted. The big group of enthusiastic coordinators were all looking to go north, logical choice since it was the direction to go if they wanted to keep their modern fashion and lifestyle going. Even though they knew they were going north, not many information about the city or town on the north was given to you. Few small groups were talking about either taking the east or west side and no people seemed to care about the road to the south. You heard something about scary forest to the southeast, with ghosts and such but you couldn't make up the full detail just by roaming around. Asking the alumnus might yield further result. Ehrmmmmmmmmm, EhrmmmmmmmBefore you could decide on your next move though, you felt vibration in your pocket. Smartphone, and it's yours, phew, it would be awkward if it was someone else. If you were to boot it up, you would find one new message from your sister, Alisa. Opening the message you would find this: 100% Messages Yuan Contact Gratz on becoming a trainer, little brother, and damn u party like a gangster rapper. (If you want to reply with the graphic, use here) You would see a link after the text, clicking it would bring you to your Cherbook page, and the first thing on the page was a picture of you sleeping on the grass. You would find many more pictures after that, one was a close take of your ugly drunk face, sleeping with your mouth open on the patch of grass that you found yourself waking up on this morning. Further down you would also find many pictures of the party, which would help you with your memory, including one of you and your friend having a face full of curry powder. Well, your(and many other students') embarrassment has hit the internet, all thanks to this particularly fellow known as Wilger Van de Beek, one of the coordinators in the big group.

The morning came what seemed too soon, Sam's head didn’t particularly hurt, but she felt a slight queasiness in her stomach and a throat that was parched. Once she was sitting up, she glanced around herself, trying to gather the memories of last night’s events. She remembered getting to the New Year’s party, and the music being a tad bit boring. But other than that, it was a little blurry. There were still plenty of passed out party-goers scattered about the floors and room. Not to mention other various places, including outside? Man, it was still hard to believe how hard Keldeo University could party. Approached by one of the classmates, she handed a bottle sports drink to Sam. “Hurry up, you said before the party that you wanted to be woke up early,” the classmate stated with a grin. “What happened?” Sam asked sweeping some of her hair back from her eyes as she opened the bottle and took a deep swig from it, thankful for something to drink. The other had already gone off to wake up other students who had wanted to be awake before the ceremony happened. Taking a few moments to gather her thoughts, she stood up and stretched. Moving to the bathroom she turned on the faucet before washing her face thoroughly looking in the mirror while shaking her head. It was a little blurry; she vaguely remembered drinking a little. That became more during the night. Until she had announced an impromptu performance with the others who were displaying their dancing and musical talents, quite drunkenly might she add. Shaking her head some at the memory, she probably looked like a fool. She did remember she brought a small backpack with a clean change of clothes. So that she wouldn’t stink like alcohol at the graduation. Stepping into a stall and swapping clothes quickly. She then stepped out to help clean up the empty cups and plates strewn about the hall. Once she finished with that duty, she made sure that anyone else that was left sleeping in the hall were woken up. “C’mon guys, you don’t want to miss getting your starter and beginning kit do you?” she asked pushing them awake. She made sure to leave with enough time to grab a decent seat. She sat calmly through the speech, lightly tapping her fingers along her leg in a light rhythm to keep herself from fidgeting. Sam was pretty excited to start planning her journey after getting her bag and ball containing her partner pokemon. Afterwards, back to the follow up post-ceremony party, she would make sure to eat enough for a full meal. Not wanting to run out without a plan. A careful look to see who had come back after getting their starting kits and what pokemon that they had chosen, curious to see the variety of mons that were made available. Once in a less crowded corner, Sam would take out the ball that was given to her. “Alright my new companion, why don’t you come out so that we can meet?” she said pushing the button and allowing the Gothita to come out into the room in front of her. Lowering herself to be less towering over the pokemon, she held out her hand politely to the pokemon “I’m your new trainer, I hope we can be friends.”
She'd need to take a look at the map before deciding which direction to leave in. Debating over whether or not she wanted to catch a pokemon before she really left the city. Perception Roll Result: 8

At the very least, it seemed that Yuan's hangover wasn't affecting his listening skills that badly. From what he could gather from the other students, the south was likely a no-go. From what little he remembered from Geography, the tribes liked to gather in the town to the south, and it saw some use as a trading hub and neutral zone. It was unlikely he would last very long in the wilds, even with the advantage of 'talking', and his cooking talents. Not much talk about the east or west as well, but the north was getting talked about a lot. Not surprising, considering it was being talked about by a large group of coordinators. He didn't have much of a problem with them, other than the fact they could easily get too tunnel-visioned about something. But there was one last thing that got his interest, the forest to the southeast might have some ghosts or something like that. From what he remembered, ghost types were pretty tricky to train. But getting one this early on would set him up well for his trip to the north. It was after mulling this over that Yuan noticed his Pansear waddling over with a plate in his hands. He didn't think his stomach could handle food right now, even though it was likely in his best interest to eat. Still, he was impressed that he at least had some idea of what his Pokemon was willing to eat. From the spread, it seemed he wasn't going to be as picky of a eater as Yuan previously thought. There were stakes, berry cakes and even a portion of his curry. "So meats and veggies are good with him. I could probably cook up something and top it off with berries, but how could I convince him to eat the stake..." Yuan thought before he crouched down to make eye-contact with Pansear. "Right, I'm going to wrap this up for you. We can eat in ten minutes after a change of clothing." He explained calmly, before reaching into his bag and pulled out a sheet of plastic wrap. Carefully he lifted up the plate and wrapped the sheet around it twice, making sure not to squish the cakes before lowing it back into Pansear's hands. The walk back to his dorm was uneventful, until he felt his phone vibrating in his pocket. He pulled it out and pressed the notification. It seemed his sister had sent him a message, well that was nice of her. Out of his whole family, his sister was top of the list. But his heart sank a bit when she mentioned that he 'partied like a gangster.' He quickly opened up the link to Cherbook, and his mouth opened wide in horror as he saw pictures from the previous night. The curry incident, him passing out on the grass and even a close up of his dumb, drunken face. Heck there was even a picture of him and some girl with neon-blue hair, making stupid faces to the camera. Yuan looked like some sort of delinquent with the face he made, while the girl wore Groucho Marx glasses. Where did she even get a pair of those anyway? The photo was tagged with his name and 'Nicole Summers', which he guessed was the same person who wrote on his chest. Judging from the picture, he looked a lot less drunk, meaning this happened early on the night. When he saw the name of the uploader, he tightly gripped his hand and let out a low snarl. "Wilger... of all the stupid crap you've done...." He said, his voice low and brimming with anger. Oh he knew of Wilger, hard not to when the the man did stuff like this. He prided himself on being a 'clean, proper and prim coordinator.' Yuan wouldn't put it pass him to be sober the whole night, only to take these pictures and upload them. He could only guess why Wilger would do this, probably to sabotage his opponent's reputation before they even started. Still, he didn't need his sister to worry too much. He quickly went back to the text message and typed a response back to his Alisa. 100% Messages Yuan Contact Gratz on becoming a trainer, little brother, and damn u party like a gangster rapper. Hey now, it took four years of studying to learn how to party like that. Can't get that at Cobalion~
It was than Yuan took a deep sigh, and began to calm himself down. He wasn't going to be a coordinator, so wouldn't have to put up with Wilger for the rest of his life... Hopefully. He even felt a bit bad for the other coordinators traveling with him. Still, he gave a reassuring smile to Pansear once he calmed down and quickly showered up enough to get rid of the marker and the rest of the gunk. Drying himself the best he could, he went over to his backpack. Luckily he was smart enough to pack his stuff the night before. Quickly he grabbed a pair of intact jeans and a cardigan, with a plain white t-shirt. Once he was changed up and mostly dry, he grabbed his bags and walked to the some of the green space around the campus. Within a few minutes he got his cooking set up and began to cook. He simply re-heated Pansear's stake and curry, today was a special day and he didn't feel like making any solid nutrition plans today. While his Pokemon was eating, he made two jars of nutritious baby food, along with a bitter bottle of ginger ale for himself later. All he ate was a half of a stake, and even then his stomach fought him just on that. Once Pansear was done, Yuan packed up and proceeded to head into town for some last minute supplies before heading to the 'scary forest'.

12:00PM, Day 1, January 1090 The Pansear waited a while for his trainer to pick anything on the plate but decided to reach in as Yuan quietly observed and thought about the Pansear's diet and such. The Pansear was inches away from grabbing his first piece of delicious steak...before the plate was mercilessly taken away from him by Yuan. That act surprised the Pansear and he did not seem to like your reason very much so. It was so cold. Fire type triumphed over cold but not in this situation. Why he has to wait ten minutes? Hey, he wanted more foods from the table, he could just ditch this dude and start eating by the table, and that's how he was treated? The Pansear sure shouted a lot with a pouting face. Without triggering your ability to talk to Pokemon, they were all just normal cries of a monkey-in-flame, in rapid fire as the Pansear sure talked fast. Yuan understood it was perfectly normal for Fire Pokemon to do so, they were not known for their patience. Despite all the protest, Yuan stuck to his words and left the hall for his dorm, which was pretty empty by this point. All the students had their stuffs moved back to their home a week ago, so they wouldn't have to be carrying all sort of bags like a tourist on the beginning of their journey. The college also provided the students with a free two-way ticket to and from their destination so, no reason to not do so. Still, the dorm was his for one last day. There was even rumor of a student who missed his dorm so much that he decided to sleep in his dorm for two more days after graduation. Weird, sure, but weirder things happened everyday. As Yuan was stuck scanning the set of "gangsta partying" pictures on his Cherbook page, anger burning inside you as much as the Pansear's fire, the curious Pansear took some effort to climb up to your shoulder to see what you are doing. Yes, as expected, the Pansear was laughing again, not as intense as previously. Not because the pictures were less funny than your real life look, but he was interested in this device you were using. He tried several times to touch the screens(which would succeed unless stopped). Five minutes later, Yuan found himself in the shower and the Pansear was merely killing some time exploring your room. It jumped up and down on the bed that would soon not to be yours, playing with the lighting in the room and did pretty much everything a young human child would do given enough time in a new room. The Pansear still looked a little pouty at you throughout the whole process until the moment you set up your cooking kit to re-heat the food, which wasn't too necessary because the food was still warm but hey, it's the thought that count, and this Pansear surely appreciated that action. He would check on you cooking the baby food and ginger ale if not for the food. Once Yuan passed the plate of food to the stocky Pansear, all the attention was on the plate. The Pansear looked the most happy at this time, a skilled photographer could arguably take a picture of the Pansear and titled it "Satiated" and sell it for a lot of money. His eyes were nothing more than a gentle slope the whole time and his mouth stuffed full like the Tepig and Croagunk you saw in the hall just now. Despite his gluttony, the Pansear was not a super fast eater, prefer to taste every millimeter of the food before swallowing them down, like a true food critic but without the ability to write angry one-star review. Yuan's phone vibrated once again while he was cooking: 100% Messages Yuan Contact Gratz on becoming a trainer, little brother, and damn u party like a gangster rapper. Hey now, it took four years of studying to learn how to party like that. Can't get that at Cobalion~ We save our best party for our professional career. It's difficult to not party hard when we are winning so much. Anyway, don't bother with the south road of your place. The ice mountains will kill you if you don't have the skill or the Pokemon for it. After the meal, Yuan went back to the hall to put the plate back to the spot. The Pansear was sort of expecting he could get another plate of food since he was not quite full yet but that dream was shattered as soon as he saw the empty table. Then, he started to pout at you again, even trying little headbutts on your leg with some heat on his head to make sure you know he was not happy. He was positive it was all your fault, your bath, your decision to leave the hall, ALL YOU! Now he could not have another plate of food, outrageous! By this time, the hall was almost empty, with only less than ten trainers inside. All of them were training their Pokemon, doing some dances and such. As for Yuan, he had an unhappy Pansear to deal with, who was still working on your leg like a little sandbag in harmless fashion.

11:07AM, Day 1, January 1090
Sam was among the cleaner students to show up in the ceremony, that's for sure. Despite helping waking many of his fellow alumni in the morning, many of them were just not in the right state of mind to clean themselves up before the ceremony started. Luckily, the school did not mind that so much. One could assume the same thing probably happened every year and the faculty wasn't one bit surprising about that. Sam was even making her own rhythm, tapping her little melody with no instrument but her fingers and leg, looking like a hyperactive among the sack of half-dead potatoes around her. Her best friend rested her head on Sam's shoulder the whole time, refusing to wake up completely before the end of the ceremony. No surprise only the parents of two students were attending the ceremony and they sure looked embarassed as their children were drunk as a Skuntank, Sam could even faintly heard a "lecture" going on behind her.
The mood surely changed after everyone of them received their graduation certificate and more importantly, the starter package. Pokedex and most importantly, the Pokeball. Not just any Pokeball, but the one with their starter inside it. That Pokeball might as well be coffee to this bunch of new trainers as they all seemed energized by it, many of them were doing a lot of hand movements around the Pokeball; some were taking a look at their Pokedex. All of them anxiously waited for the end of the ceremony, which came very soon. Red beam filled the room immediately at the beginning of the post-ceremony party, the room was loud again, but this time filled with Pokemon chirps and cries. As one would expect, most of your alumni picked the cute and adorable type of Pokemon like Budew(not very cute before evolution), Spritzee and anything along that line. There was one Chatot, but Sam knew Chatot was an intentional rare breed so half of Keldeo would not start with one. The most surprising one was likely a Tyrogue, who was currently running around so Sam wasn't sure about its owner.
Sam too released her little BAND-MAID worshipper, who came out right in front of her following the red beam. The Gothita was facing the other side when she came out but she did not show any sign of panic at all, just calmly inspecting the surrounding until the voice behind her swat her attention away. Turning back, she saw the crouched Sam, a little bit too close for comfort but she was not skittish, looking back at you with the powerful, hypnotizing stare of a Psychic Pokemon. The little Gothita even tried to imitate your words - a gut feeling, she could be talking about anything - although all that came out of her mouth were just gibberish. After you extended your hand, the little Pokemon took a few tiny steps to shake it. "Ira Tra Matta Ykjr."
A map could be easily found on the internet and Sam definitely has a smartphone with her but a map alone would do her no good without sufficient information. The train station would be an obvious place to get the information she needed. Despite her desire, Sam understood not many wild Pokemon would be found inside the city range, not even in this town with all the wild around them. Wild Pokemon were known to stay away from human territory in general. Sam also knew the government has strict penalty on vandalism and Pokemon combat on the street, unless for self defense, is strictly prohibited. While she does have some knowledge of the surrounding wild, she did not have absolute information about any side of them except for the south part. Perhaps asking her parent could be an option, if she was certain her parents would know more than her. Or maybe her best friend? Plenty of options for the starting trainer.

The choices that were made by the majority of the students who remained for the after party didn’t really surprise Sam. The Tyrogue did earn a raise of her eyebrow and her attention for a little bit, until it ran off. Not something she’d expect from the typical Keldeo student. Maybe she’d run into the trainer that chose it on her future ventures.
Noticing that her pokemon had been facing away from her, Sam ended up giving a small chuckle. Guess that would probably happen often, wouldn’t it? She waited patiently for the pokemon to come to her, good first impressions were important after all. A surprised expression coming to her eyes at something that wasn’t just the Gothita’s name. “Wow, you’re already trying to learn how to say words? That’s really amazing!” she complimented the other honestly. It was cute, and hopefully with the right teaching she could be able to talk and maybe even sing in human like was mentioned in the report.
After spending a little bit of time of getting a nice introduction through she motioned towards the table with the food “Do you want to help yourself to some of the food? I need to get some information,” she explained. After the Gothita made her choice Sam would think over who to ask about where she should head to, and if there was a clue of where she might catch another pokemon sometime.
Scanning the room she noticed her best friend from graduation "Hey Roselyn!" she called out quickly making her way over to them. Smiling some as she approached "So, can I ask who's your starter? And, what's your plan after the party?" Sam asked curiously.

It was unsure whether the Gothita liked your praise or not, as the Pokemon merely stared at you while trying to imitate your words once again. Then, the Gothita simply gave you a nod and friendly smile before heading toward the table, now already filled with several Pokemon eating like they had not for the past seven days. The Gothita, like many Psychic Pokemon, was clever enough to solve the problem on her own. Instead of trying to fight the impossible fight of squeezing herself into the pack of Mon, she used her telekinetic power instead to take the food. Her first few attempts were stopped by the Pokemon grabbing the food in mid-air - they thought the foods were running away from them - until an Oshawott realized it was the Gothita's doing and passed some food to her, mainly the berries she had tried so hard to get.
"Oh hey, Sam." Roselyn, who was still very much hungover, was standing around the tea area alongside Yuan. Despite the headache she was having at moment, she gave her best effort to greet Sam with a smile. "Oh, I have a Pachirisu. I did not let her out just yet because she is known to eat electrical lines. I think the wild is a safer place to greet her and thank Arceus I packed her lunch before this whole bunch of Pokemon come to the table." She said while showing Sam the bag on her right hand.
"My plan after the party, hmm...probably lay down for a bit and let this headache pass. But after that, I think I am heading west on foot. I am hoping I can befriend something cute in the forest, don't want my Pachirisu to feel boring by herself. Why are you asking me anyway? Shouldn't you be asking Hunter? Woo~ maybe you two can travel together, sharing a tent toge-- oh my God~~" Roselyn teased, poking you on the shoulder repeatedly with her finger.

Oh that wasn't good... that wasn't good at all.
It seemed that by the time Yuan came back into the hall, the place was mostly empty save for a few trainer. At the top of his head he only had to deal with maybe ten or so students if they wanted to chat with him. But for now his attention was focused on his Pokemon. He didn't need to be a genius to know why Pansear was trying to beat up his leg, ineffectually as well. Figuring he needed a place more quiet than the hall, he picked up Pansear and took him outside. He was ready to feel whatever sort of heat or fire that the monkey would use at him, but he couldn't do what he wanted to do with people nearby. Once he went outside, he ducked behind one of the trees for cover and sat down. He placed the Pokemon on his lap and gently grabbed one of his little paws.
What happened next was the reason why Yuan needed some privacy. He closed his eyes and didn't say a word. His breathing began to slow down, along with his movements and reaction to stimuli. Even the sounds of the world seemed to fade away in his mind. When he opened his eyes, his pupils were gone! Both of his eyes now had a solid grayish-silver color, making his eyes look rather hazy and cloudy. In the past, he could only really 'talk' to a single Pokemon for no more than a few minutes. But years of practice meant that he could keep a constant connection with up to four Pokemon, so long as they stayed close by. Even now that he knows better, he still prefers to it as 'Talking', as opposed to 'Channeling' or 'Aura Connecting'. No words were being spoken, nor were they being heard. For it was his own Aura that was doing the talking. As soon as his Aura began to connect with Pansear's, his intentions began to reach him.
"I know you're upset, and I should of have known you wanted seconds. But I need to stock up on supplies before we leave. I promise you that tonight I'll make you a big dinner, but I need you to promise that you'll behave for the next few hours." He explained, being as honest as he could. From what he gathered, unlike most lines of communication, you could not lie or deceive. This was the purest, more intimate form of communication that Yuan has ever experienced. Both parties could know the other's emotions, intentions or even motivations, just by 'Talking'. He could feel just how upset that his Pansear was, which began to make him tear up. In turn, the Pansear could feel Yuan's getting upset as well. It was a shame he couldn't constantly keep this connection, but solid silvery-ish eyes tend to stand out in the crowd. He closed his eyes once more, as his senses and breath returned to their previous levels. Once he opened his eyes, it was quite clear they were back to normal.
"Come on, we could probably snag some some early-bird deals at the food market~" Yuan said with a smile as he began to pack up. After about five or so minutes, he was rearing to go and snag himself some supplies at the food market. Thinking it would be easier to travel with, he held out his pokeball and offered Pansear a chance to rest his feet. Once the Pokemon made his choice, he began to walk away from his hiding spot. When he stepped off the campus, he checked his phone and saw another message from his sister. He'd probably reply just before he left the town.

The Pansear was not easy to pick up at first, trying to push Yuan's hands away multiple time before he was finally grabbed by the waist, and proceeded to swat at the air all the way from the hall to the schoolyard. Despite all the aggression, the Fire Pokemon did not try to breath fire at Yuan, just screeching at him the whole time. If the Pokemon was truly angry, it behaved surprisingly well. The duo eventually reached the spot Yuan wanted them to be in and put his blessed ability to use.
At first, Yuan could feel anger from the Pansear and also the initial shock and fear of establishing the connection for the first time. The Pansear never experienced this before, it was new and a little scary, but a very good way to talk to a human. As the young man started to tear up as he explained, the Pansear's anger succumbed, replaced by a lot of guilt. The Pokemon was clearly upset about...this whole thing. Alright, I am just playing with you, you are such a cry-baby. Even though Yuan initially thought differently, he knew it was impossible to deceive in this form of spiritual connection and the Pansear was just playing with him just now. Both parties also knew that the Pansear could have easily use his fire to burn you or even heat up his body so he would be impossible to hold. He did not go overboard with those ideas. But I want my big dinner, no backsies~ and that concluded the spiritual meeting.
The Pokeball was rejected by the Pansear who shooked his head over the offer. He seemed more happy to walk than staying inside a world of black space. Yuan knew from the classes that majority of Pokemon preferred to stay outside, especially the active kind and it took wild Pokemon a while to adjust to staying inside a Pokeball. As a ranch-breed, the Pansear was of course accustomed to a Pokeball but that did not mean he would want to stay inside unless recalled. The Pansear also preferred to walk over climbing up Yuan's shoulder or be held by him.
One good thing about Dinisfora City was the low population. The streets were spacious even when it was lunch time and people were out in the street looking for a place to get their lunch. The Pansear obviously loved the environment as he made a lot of noises while the two of you were walking down the street. It was hardly a surprise, Dinisfora City was very "green", Pokemon might feel they were back inside a forest than in a place built by human. Trees and flowers were all over the sides of the street and the building, majority of them had wood as the main material, did not look out of place alongside the various type of plants. For a newcomer to the city, one might feel he was back to two eras ago, away from the modern civilization. Not everyone like that and the location was a big factor to why Keldeo Academy remained the school with least student enrollment most of the years.
Arriving at the entrance of the food market, Yuan saw the food portion of the market having the highest density and the grocery portion was rather empty; about what one would expect from lunch time anyway. The Pansear sure looked more interested in the available food, he was staring at that loaded place the whole time, imagining what kind of food he would find there, scanning what the people are buying and holding in their hands or eating. However, that was not the place Yuan was planning to go. Yuan was to go to the grocery part on the left side, shopping for ingredients of the big dinner he promised the Pansear, and maybe chat up with the many mothers Yuan had befriended in the past as a frequent visitor to this place.

“Partied a little too hard it looks like?” Sam asked with a little chuckle of sympathy. “Oh! I know which one you’re talking about, I read about her. I gotta admit, I hope you are able to handle it and turn her into a contest champion,” she told her with a nod. Because she wanted to see the little Pachurisu go places, and Roselyn would definitely be able to do that she felt.
“Sounds like a smart plan if that headache is still hanging around that much. The forest hm?” she thought on for a moment. Before she heard the teasing voice and the prods against her shoulder blinking multiple times before shaking her head quickly “Roselyn, I’ve told you since you met him. I’m not interested in him that way!” she stated while laughing some at the other's words light-heartedly.
“But you have a point. Maybe he’ll be able to help me make a plan more since he isn’t as Party focused as you,” Sam took a turn in teasing back with a friendly wink and gently nudging her best friend with an elbow. Taking a sweep of the area to see if and where Hunter might be.

"Wait what? So, she is one of your choices? You all get so many good choices. My first three choices are just terrible. Nothing that I really liked except for an Oddish, but Oddish is so common and...not totally cute I don't think I want to start with one. Luckily I did just that, or else I would have missed out on the Pachirisu." Roselyn replied with a genuine smile, as if the hangover just solved itself for a moment. "Yeah, you say that now. I don't know what kind of drama and movie you have watched but among those I have watched, most of the time the couple who said 'oh, we are not like that' usually end up together."
Roselyn took the elbow as good as Sam. They were used to teasing each others after all the time they were together. "And you two belong to each other, just boring people who can't even enjoy a party. Come on girl, live up a little when you are young and still have some life inside you. We might not have the chance to do crazy things when we are older, especially since we are too good with Pokemon we end up being too busy with them. Or you with music. Don't forget our promise, we will meet back here once a year and share things with each other." Roselyn sure was more lively now that she has someone to talk to. Thankfully she had Sam or she would not have anyone to talk to, not even her starter that she wanted to keep in the ball for now.
Roselyn continued to talk after a sip of the ginger tea but Sam has since focused on the room and not her, looking for woo~~~ Hunter. It did not take long to spot the young man who has been one of her closest friends, sitting in one corner of the room with a smartphone in his hand. Sam also saw her Gothita, currently mingling with the Pokemon around the table and she was hitting it off with the Oshawott who passed her the food just now.

“An Oddish huh? That could have been a neat Bellossom,” she muses more to herself rubbing her chin thoughtfully. Blinking in surprise at the bounce back from her hangover “You certainly come back fast, still shocks me,” she commented with a light smile at her friend. Laughing at the mention of dramas “You know I really don’t watch that stuff unless you want me to watch with you,” Sam stated shaking her head slightly with a short chuckle.
“Besides, isn’t usually the best friend that happens to?” she added with another smirk to Roselyn. “Cause a ‘boring’ person needs a ‘life of the party’ to balance them out. Makes more sense if you ask me,” she pointed out before giving a playful smirk at the end of the sentence. Glad to see her best friend in a better mood. “You got it. I wouldn’t miss catching up with you. You’ll need to tell me how many fans you have and show me the newest performance you planned for your contests,” she agreed with a sincere smile.
Sam did listen to Roselyn as she looked around the room. “Hey can I get back with you in a minute? ” she asked politely pointing over her shoulder to Hunter. After all, she was the one who suggested that she asked Hunter about the plans. Sliding away from the other with a wave to show she'd be back afterwards.
Noticing that her Gothita had been kicking off a potential friendship with one of the other starters, it brought a smile to her face. “Good to see that she’s socializing with the others,” she added more to herself.
Getting to where Hunter was situated, Sam would come up to his side, peeking over his phone in curiosity "Hey Hunter, what'cha looking at?" she asked bringing her gaze back to his face with a friendly smile.

"Bellossom is great, I'd like to have one of those one day but Oddish is just...too common and the one in the profile isn't that interesting. I think he can do better in combat, which I don't think I will participate in, at least not the first year. Throwing spores all over the stage is just...not amazing to me." Roselyn said, sipping her cup of green tea in the pause. "And it will have to be a Gloom before becoming a Bellossom. Urgh, so ugly. You remember the one on our lab test the past September? It just looks so dumb with the blank look and its saliva dripping all over the place, no thank you." The girl even went as far as to imitate the oblivious look of the Gloom, sticking her tongue out to the side. "I can't win beauty or cute contest with that. Pachirisu is another story, I can win contest by the end of the month with her and she doesn't has an ugly stage." Roselyn had such a bright smile on her face at the thought of her Pachirisu that told Sam she had made the right choice.
"Oh come on, you have to watch more of those stuffs, they will help you if you ever want to pick up some guys, Hunter or not Hunter." Then, it all went back to the teasing. "And if you see more of those, you will know that BFFs party together. More fun that way, but since I am stuck with you, oh well. Wuu, looking for Hunter? Go for it." She ended the conversation with a slight push to her BFF's back after a gentle pat, sending Sam toward the young man in the corner.
"Oh hey there Sam, nothing much, I am just sharing the news with my brother and my trainer friend from Kanto." Hunter glanced on Sam for a second, smiled, before turning his attention back to his phone. He sighed a few seconds later, "My family intends to throw me a party and want me to go home immediately. I mean, it's just a few stations away with the train, but I really want to start my journey right now, just more efficient that way and I don't want to be at a disadvantage from the start." As a close friend to Hunter, Sam knew too much about Hunter's theory of efficiency. He put way too much emphasis into things like value and efficiency, kind of like a Cobalion student, and flat out refused the option that did not produce the best value.
"Sorry about that little rant," He soon realized he was venting too much on graduation day. "What's up?" He asked, looking back at the girl in front of him or besides him.

Hearing that he was talking to his brother she smiled some, Jonathan his brother, was a good sport. "Oh, that's pretty exciting!" she told him, though she did nod in understanding his want to get started on his journey as soon as possible.
Shaking her hand dismissing his apology "It's fine, I'm glad to hear that your folks are so ready to celebrate. You'll have to tell them hello for me," she added with a light-hearted laugh.
Leaning back against the wall beside him she shrugged some "Well, I was trying to figure out which way to head out for my own start. Unfortunately I didn't get a strong grasp on the area around here and don't want to fight my way to the station, ya know?" she asked with an embarrassed grin. "And since both Roselyn and you were still here I'd figured I would see what starters you picked and see what your plans were," she explained motioning towards her female best friend who was feeling better from her hangover.
"I ended up picking a Gothita, that one over there making friends with the Oshawott," she pointed at the two pokemon who were making conversation. "How about You?"

With his pokemon on his back, Yuan made his way to the town. It took a bit of time to get used to Dinisfora City, especially with how much plant life was within the city. Even the houses and shops made wood a primary choice. Soon enough he grew to like the enormous amounts of shade during the summer. Even though it was lunch time, the streets weren't crowed. At the most, he saw roughly a couple of dozen people at any given time. As he went to the Market, he saw a Tauros pulling an empty cart. The man riding it had all the appearances of a farmer. If this had been anywhere else, there would have been a few odd looks being given towards the farmer, yet Yuan learned that such sights were quite common.
The food market held little interest to Yuan, especially considering how dirt poor he was at the moment. Luckily he went hungry enough times to learn how stretch a dollar. What he was more interested in was the grocery market, and he wasn't going to be focusing on the best-looking food. No, he had a much more different plan in mind.
"Okay Pansear, you're about to see a master haggler in action, trained by housewives over the course of four years." Said Yuan as he brought his hands together and cracked his knuckles. Over the course of four years, he received a good amount of advise from them. How to show the flaws in a product, using pre-existing relationships to get a better deal or just outside charming the seller for a better deal. Granted, he didn't quite use the last one, since it was more men then anything else. Hell, there was even one housewives he remembers, Mrs. Croux who was just utterly vicious when it came to haggling. She was a bit of a sweetheart, but when it came to haggling... the difference was just night and day.
For the next half an hour or so, Yuan began to look for produce, chatted up with some of the other housewives that were there. The questions were more or less the same thing.
"Congrats on graduation! Is that your starter?" "Where are you planning on going next?" "Make sure you stay safe/eat well."
Yuan always smiled around them, for the most part they were very nice people. Still. he had a task to do. He soon found a radish that looks a little thin and smiled with a hint of excitement. He had three hundred left to his name, let the haggling begin.

11:15PM, Day 1, January 1090
In Keldeo Academy, Room 110,
"Yeah, I will...if I am going to see them." Hunter sighed, obviously not fond of the idea. "Maybe I can travel toward that direction but slowly, that sounds like a fair plan. What do you think? I am still moving toward my place but I have the time to catch Pokemon and maybe do some gym challenges along the way. But if I do that, I will have to tell my family and they are likely going to be disappointed for not seeing me so quickly, darn it." From what you know of Hunter, his family frequently visited him on holiday and they obviously would like to see their "little baby" as fast as possible after the graduation. After all, not many people get to become trainer, it's a prestigious profession like doctor and pilot but with unstable income and higher risk.
"Hmm, the area around. The only direction I know is to the west, which is where I am headed if I am going back home. If you plan to walk, you will be trekking over a lot of forest before eventually getting out to the clearer field. That means you have reach the agriculture quarter of Varius, which can be interesting if you are interested in that, and not so much if you are not. The towns there tend to be...boring. If we are somehow in Meadowton at the same time, you can come visit my family." Hunter looked at you as he mentioned the last sentence, he was genuinely inviting you. "I can't help you with the other directions though, don't know enough of them to say anything; but I think if you are heading north, don't go by train. A lot of our aspiring coordinator classmates are going there by train, which means you will be fighting for Pokemon in the wild with them and that is not efficient. You can walk there and find what you want in the forest. When you reach the city on the north, the coordinators are likely to be someplace else, if they are using train as the main mean of travel." Hunter mused, multitasking and chatting with someone else on his phone at the same time.
"Gothita is a good one, sort of underrated as many are on the Ralts camp, but I can see why you pick a Gothita. It can do well on both battle and coordination. Do you have plan on whether you want to be a trainer or a coordinator? Last I know you are still blurry on what you wanted to do, aside from inventing the glove. Oh right, my Pokemon, that Oshawott is mine." Oh wow, what a coincidence. Roselyn would definitely tease about this if she knew, Pokemon of the rumored couple hitting it off? That's news. "Nah, just kidding," He added.
"I am sorry, I don't even know what I am saying, chatting on two different platforms is harder than I thought. Mine is the Nidoran over there." Like his friend, he pointed at a Nidoran, which Sam could easily recognized as a male, who was playing chase with a few other Pokemon. "I was told Nidoran can learn a lot of moves and I figured I should start with one that can be useful in any situation. Not sure what I can do with him for business though, but I have plenty of time for that."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1:15PM, Day 1, January 1090
In the Dinsifora open market,
The Pansear was not happy with Yuan's decision and it took Yuan some time to convince him from the idea of going into the food department of the market. The Fire Pokemon also did just that not because he wanted to, nor was he ever interested in haggling, but he was afraid Yuan would cry again and he would not want to see that again today. In the end, he sighed and followed Yuan into the grocery section. The place was full of housewives but not much else, crowded but not so packed and stacked that the Pansear would get lost in the middle of the road. So, the Pansear stayed walking instead of climbing up his trainer like a tree.
The Pansear was expecting a boring hour or so but the time in the market was far from boring. He was surprisingly popular to the housewives. To be fair, the housewives would have done the same thing to anything cute and adorable but the Pansear really did not expect himself to be such a big hit nor he ever knew people would act like that. Growing up in a ranch, his perception was that human being did not treat any Pokemon differently and did not take a whole lot of interest in them for the most part. Well, aside from that one Slowpoke who always wandered into weird places in the ranch, that one needed a lot of extra attention.
And there he was, being the focus in the middle of somewhere that has a lot of uncooked food. The lots of stare and unnecessary touching were uncomfortable and he did not like it one bit when people he did not know try to pet him. One of the housewives even pinched his face and he slapped her hand right off. Manner was not a concern to him, not at the expense of comfort. It did mean that Yuan has to do plenty of apologies for him.
Yuan's haggling would go far in a different place but the market was the battlefield of many housewives and the vendors were well-trained to counter-barter. Most of the vendors knew him so they were not as harsh to him as the others. Also, Yuan was a fair haggler, unlike some housewives who were trying to extort every tiny bit of value mercilessly, so the vendors were more willing to give in.
The Pansear was a troublemaker throughout their whole stay in the market though. He was all over the place while Yuan was haggling and a fair share of the time Yuan was trying to keep the Pansear under control. The Pansear jumped from stall to stall, trying to put anything he did not find repellent into his mouth. Different vendors acted differently to that. Some let the Fire Pokemon have something to eat, some just casually took the thing away from him and on the receiving end of some angry cries and protest from the Pokemon, and some were harsher in getting the red Pokemon away from their stalls. So yeah, more apologies needed from Yuan but at least the Pansear was not bored by the activity. He might not have the food he wanted but he still got himself plenty of things. He ate some of it right away, including two berries with his go-to method, but passed the rest to Yuan, expecting his new owner to use them in the big dinner he promised.
Yuan came out of the market(assuming he has nothing else to do in there) with not only foods but some information as well. Granted, most of what the housewives were talking about - things like "My son Jesper just scored all As" and "can you believe Ashley is cheating on James?"(celebrity rumor) - were useless to him but Yuan did scoop up some worthy rumors. One, some of the missing people have been found in the infamous eerie forest with ghosts and spirits to the east. Many of them were reported missing a few weeks ago and they just showed up on the road one day. None of them seemed to have a clue on what had happened to them in the past few weeks. Two, another fire happened last night on the north side of Dinsifora City. On December, the occurrence of house fire in the city had a fivefold increase. Many housewives and vendors agreed that they were not accident but not even the fire department in the city knew what's up. Three, some unknown and probably new disease was spreading from the south and many were worried about the health of their children.
[Yuan scored $425 worth of food scrap from the market with his $300 budget. The Pansear was gifted $60 worth of food scrap and two berries but he ate $10 and the two berries. Yuan had a total of $475 food scrap in his bag after shopping.]
