Much as with the Drapion, the Miltank barely flinches at Rose's attack. "I see you're working together much better," Enya says, nodding, "And you've found something that works... so far. Just don't get complicit." She smiles. "Especially since you're not the only one who can trip things up. Don't let the Trapinch escape, Myron." The Drapion whips its tail again and launches a spike into Dusty's leg. It isn't as overly painful this time, but it's clear that it'll slow him down. Rose hits with Mega Drain. Enya uses Pain Resistance. Rose heals 1 HP. Dusty takes 3 damage from Poison Sting. Drapion triggers Cruelty. Dusty is Slowed. Map

"Dusty might have short legs, but that just means he can go really fast! Dusty, we're gonna flatten him before he can use those fangs on you again! Get in close and use Bulldoze!" Despite limping Dusty waddles surprisingly quickly, thanks to Mica's usual energetic play and instruction. The pool of sand spreading as he goes. With an elephantine slowness, the Trapinch raises one foreleg next to the Drapion and brings it down, sending a shockwave thundering through all the loose soil.

Dusty waddles forwards, before unleashing a burst of rock from the ground... when it settles, the Drapion lies motionless on the ground. "Hmm, well then," Enya says with some concern, looking to make sure that the Drapion is still breathing. Satisfied that it is, she recalls it. "That's certainly an improvement. But let's see how you deal with something you haven't seen before. Let's go, Sasha." With a flourish, she takes another ball off her belt, and releasing what almost seems to be a swirling vortex of energy connected to a floating rock. The Miltank actually moves back, away from the slippery sliding sandiness, still rolling into a tighter ball. Drapion takes 2 injuries and faints. Miltank uses Defense Curl.

" Rose, fall back and keep eating up that sunlight!" Donovan calls out The Budew listens, moving back a few meters and absorbing more light, his buds beginning to open a little, showing the inner blue and red, each a little more vibrant with passing minute. Rose moves back and uses Growth again

"Hanging back won't do you a lot of good, there. Soak them, Sasha." The floating vortex hovers in place, and begins spinning faster, before launching a spinning jet of water at Dusty. The trapinch is knocked about quite a bit, but keeps its balance, and certainly isn't down for the count yet. Dusty takes 46 damage and 2 injuries from Water Pulse. A critical hit!

"You're not the only one that can attack at a range, but that was a pretty neat attack! Alright Dusty, time to show Enya what we were holding onto with a Rock slide!"
Mica was furiously beginning a sketch even as Dusty summoned a pillar of rock from the depths of his sand pit, smashing his head into it fiercely. The pillar shone with white cracks and then exploded violently in the direction of the spiritomb.

Dusty, not so happy with being wet, decides to return the favour, with style. And, indeed, the Spiritomb does not seem very happy to be crushed by rocks. It weathers them, though, and then floats upwards to get back to floating in the air. The Miltank eyes Dusty's pit warily, and resigns itself to roll back around towards the Spiritomb. It seems like it probably doesn't have much in the way of distance attack options, much to its chagrin... Dusty hits with Rock Slide. Enya uses Pain Resistance. Miltank uses Defense Curl.

"Keep it up Rose. As long as they're keeping their distance just keep making it hard for them. Maybe make it rain a bit, just in case they have any more tricks up their sleeves" Rose seemed to nod in agreement, opening his buds even more and spraying out a bit of water, coating himself and the ground around him in a light dew, though his eyes kept darting between the two enemies Rose is staying put and using Water Sport

The Spiritomb fires off another blast of water at Dusty, this time managing to keep the antlion down, the ground once again solidifying. It begins to float towards Rose, cackling unnervingly. It gives off the impression that it's cunning... but might not be entirely sane. Dusty takes 34 damage, 2 injuries and faints from Water Pulse.

"Dusty can't screen for you anymore Donovan, Rose is going to have to work extra hard. If you can avoid getting hit, do your best..." Mica recalls Dusty, rubbing her face against his Pokeball. "You did really great, it'll be tongue-rubbings and facebumps later, even if you're all dirty." Tucking the ball away, she glanced from the swirling purple mass to the side of the field. Pink and purple go pretty good together, but she promised she wouldn't ask anything of it.
"Apex! The battle we studied for is here!" The sloth appeared in the shadow of the Spiritomb, towering over it. "Get'em! He got dusty all wet!" With a screech, the vigoroth came in from one side and feinted, before striking from a completely different direction, sweeping it's claws through the mist and into the stone beneath it.

Apex's attack manages to connect, claws shredding the vortex, causing it to collapse back into its rock, before being recalled. "All right," Enya says, "You're doing well. You've taken those lessons and learned. Let's see if that keeps up. Let's go, Tyler." Once more, Enya' blue and yellow eel appears floating above the battlefield. Spiritomb faints from Faint Attack.

"Alright Apex! We're going to keep on the pressure, but not on the cow-ball! Let's get the squiggle-wriggle with a fury swipes!" Apex lets out a triumphant bellow and moves with an incredible swiftness around the Eelektross to flank it, bringing it's long claws in with vigorous slashing, connecting four times in rapid succession.
(Mica uses Agility Orders, Apex moves around behind Eelektross and uses Fury Swipes for 66 Normal Physical Damage.)

Apex's claws make short work of the Eeleketross, it quickly falling to the ground even as it braces itself. Enya's face falls a little bit, but she puts a smile back on as she releases her next Pokémon, a large metal bell, which floats in the air. "Alright, Laurie. You can turn this around. And move in there, Felicia." The bell chimes, while the Miltank rolls towards Apex, curling up ever tighter. Apex hits with Fury Swipes. Enya uses Pain Resistance. Eeleketross takes 2 injuries and Faints. Miltank uses Defense Curl.

Donovan stood wide eyed as Apex tore through two of the foes before he could even react " Wow Mica, Apex is a lot stronger than before, isn't he" He steeled himself for a moment before calling out to Rose " Alright Rose, we can't have Mica and Apex do ALL the work. Move forward and drain that Miltank! Show them what we can do!" Instead of spending another turn growing stronger, Rose moved forward and sent out another barrage of glowing vines, each of them sticking into the Miltank and transferring the energy back to the Budew Rose Crit the Miltank with a 22 vs AC 2 for 49 Special Grass Damage
Donovan used Focused Training

Rose's vines wrap around the Miltank, the tendrils of energy not caring about all the time its spent curling up. Having not even been able to attempt a single hit, it falls to the ground, all its energy drained. The Bronzong works to make up for it, sounding a deep, resonant chime, which clangs all around Apex, battering and severely disorienting the Vigoroth. "Well, you've made much progress over the last day," Enya says, as she recalls her Miltank, "But, you haven't reached the finish line yet. There's still one more hurdle for you to jump over. Show me your strength, and all that you've learned. Leila, old faithful, it's time to shine." Pulling her last Pokéball off her belt, she releases the Mantine that she'd been with the very first time that the pair had seen her. The Gym Leader pauses for a moment, before reaching around her neck and pulling out a pendant with a shimmering rainbow gem at the end. She pulls a small blue crystal sphere from her pocket, and holds it aloft, where it and the Mantine begin to shine with a pink-purple light, which forms a shell around it. "Prove to me your burning desire to win!" she says, forcefully, as the light fades, and the Mantine is larger and bulkier, while the fish attached to it has detached and is flying on its own. Miltank takes 2 injuries and Faints from Mega Drain. Rose heals 21 HP. Apex takes 41 damage, 2 injuries and is confused by Confusion. A critical hit! Bronzong triggers Cruelty. Apex is Slowed and cannot regain HP. Enya triggers Mega Evolution on Mantine.

"Oh woooow... a majestic sea flap flap! I've read about those!" Mica bounced from foot to foot, squeeing with her fists balled underneath her chin. "And it's even got a deployable guntrout! CAN I PET IT?!" Mica's eyes sparkled until a discordant clanging brought her attention back to Apex.
"A big bell too? Is... that even actually a pokemon?" She squints at the Bronzong. "Apex we need to tune it out and back off a bit, give it a grasswhistle and head back for Rose!"

Apex's tune seems to lull the chiming of the bell somewhat. "Don't get distracted, Mica," Enya chides, "Keep your focus."As Leila flaps towards Rose, its little Remoraid buddy speeds towards the Bronzong, seemingly trying to wake it up. Unfortunately, despite the little fish poking away at the bell, it doesn't seem to stir. The Mantine, though, has set its sights on Rose, and launches a coruscating blast of energy at the Budew, disorienting it much as Bronzong did to Apex. Apex hits with Grasswhistle. Bronzong falls Asleep. Apex hits itself in its confusion for 2 ticks of damage. Mantine misses a Struggle against Bronzong as a Swift Action. Rose takes 33 Damage, 2 injuries, and is Confused from Psybeam. Mantine triggers Cruelty. Rose is Slowed and cannot regain HP.

" Rose, I thought she would do this if she got you. Stay put and throw it some pollen, I know it hurts right now but we're so close to victory!" Donovan winced as he saw Rose hurt himself to throw out the Stun Spore, but grit his teeth knowing they could do this. Rose meanwhile did exactly what he was told, sending a wave of yellow pollen out at the Mantine, hoping to slow it down, and followed up with a hurt look at the Mega Pokemon, hoping to catch it off guard. 19 vs AC 6 for Stun Spore on the Mega Mantine

Rose's powder settles on the Mantine, causing it to falter a little bit. But, it pointedly ignores Rose's look, instead returning with a deep stare. The bell fails to wake, merely sounding a dolorous chime. Rose hits with Stun Spore. Rose hurts itself in its confusion. Rose is cured of Confusion. Mantine resists the Flirt. Bronzong fails to Wake.

"Hmm... Alright Apex, we'll withdraw and give Taffy a chance for now, you've been doing great, and I know you're hanging in there! We've got this, we just have to keep pushing!"
Apex disappears in a stream of red light, the Frillish popping into existence downfield.
