Isabella nods her head twice, "Oh, yes. I would be very grateful if the Professor would allow us to approach the local population once we're fully Licensed."
She follows a step or two behind Keno as he makes his way towards Jason. She tries her best to keep her eyes and ears open for any approaching danger as her fellow Applicants talk to each other.

"It's goin' sound crazy," Jason explains to Keno and Izzy, he rushes his words together. "But down this here tunnel, there's this mighty deep pit, and there's all this chanting in the room, and the room is covered in paintings like how the Professor's visitors center was, and when I got into the room the chanting stopped, and a voice whispered warrior from inside the pit."
Jason takes a deep and stabling breath, "It's right down here, I'll show you."

Keno believes what Jason has to say, but figures the voice is a person; some part of the trial is all. When he offers to show them, Keno follows curiously. 'perhaps some riddle to solve?'
When he entered the room with the paintings, he saw the coiled sun serpant, surrounded by worshiper. 'Is that the totum the professor mentioned?'

Jason takes a few steps closer to the pit, having allies behind him gives him the courage to peer down and sway the beam of his flashlight across the depths. "Is is where I heard the voice."

Keno, you think it could be logical to think the depicted creature could be a totem pokemon, but the way the art shows it suggests that it could be something mythical or worshiped as a deity.
Isabella, you don't know what the creature is, but you remember a few stories from kindergarten that were told by the indigenous people of the region. Some say it's a guardian while others say it's a horrible monster that swallowed the sun. No one is sure which is the truth of the stories, other than it's a myth.
Jason, looking in the hole, you can see something reflecting the light below. They look like several stones that have geometric patterns and crystals carved into them.

Isabella's face falls slightly at a thought. "You know, Keno, the Professor said something about this area being protected, didn't he? So maybe we won't be allowed to see if those Squirtles will like to be recruited."
She sighs softly, but then shakes her head. "No reason to dwell on that, though, is there? If we become Trainers we should at least get one Pokémon, and then we can go befriend more."
She gives the image another look, "Either that's a myth...or it's a Pokémon that hasn't been seen so long that we think it's a myth."
She finally inches forward and tries to look down into the pit, very careful to not get close enough to the edge to risk falling in.

Isabella you can see the stones at the bottom of the pit, along with some metallic object. It looks like it's made of polished copper in the shape of the sun. The light reflects off of it very well. As for the stones themselves, they seem to sparkle like holofoil cards in a collectible card game that was popular with the kids.
Jason, you have heard of stones like these. They aren't alive, but they are said to have a power that brings good luck to those that hold them. However, the names of these stones escape you. The carvings seem to make a "Z" pattern on the surface.

Finding Izzy's rope John follows it to the others. hearing Keno ask for his rope back john stated, "Hold up, you can use mine" as he stopped nearby.
After handing the rop e over he briefly told the others what he saw.

Jason turns to see John joining the gang and nods a greeting. "An underground lake? That sound's interesting all right, maybe we can check that out after we clear this pit?"
"I can go down with you, Keno," Jason offers to Keno while he's accepting the rope. "Might be better with two of us in case something is down there."

When John offers the rope, Keno's mind flashes forward to an imagined future. Keno stands atop a stage next to a man at the podium, tickertate rains down, and a crowd cheers. Keno is being awarded accolades for his great work and astounding discovery, then the man at the podium shouts, "... And the man who lent him his rope, without which none of this would be possable!"
At that, a fifteen foot tall John takes the stage, shaking the world with each step. His shadow dwarfs Keno and he is lost in a dark abyss to cries of, "so noble," how generous," and "what a hero." Snap back to reality, Keno blinks, smiles politly at Jason, "I'd like to use my own if it's all the same," to Jason, "You wanna go down? Then let's get to it."Keno will gather his rope, unless there is any objection from Izzy, after all she is borrowing it. Survival check to tie it off to something sturdy PoMoXWf13d63d6 |

"That's not a problem, Keno," Izzy offers with a small smile. "I can make my way back to the entrance from here, and it won't take me that long to get to the lake and back."
With that, she's gone back the way they came, leaving Jason to muse about the nature of the underground lake.
She's back a few minutes later*, her attention on the robes in her hand as she carefully finishes untying the ends of the ropes. She hands the one that shows less signs of any use to Keno, carefully rolling the other up before storing it into her backpack. As the others get set to explore below, she finally pulls out a Pester Ball and looks at it carefully. "Do either of you know what's in these? A few of the Trainers I worked for used Pester Balls, but I was never told how to tell which type they are."

Keno, you see the same thing as everyone else, but you can't exactly think of what they are. Looking for something sturdy, you find a thick log that is holding up the ceiling and tied the rope to that. You test to see if it would hold and slowly make your way down. Once you make it to the bottom, Jason climbs down much faster than you did. He almost made it look easy. Inside the pit, you find the stones and the copper sun, sitting in a pile of black powder. It looked like ash and soot.
Meanwhile, for those who did not go down yet, something odd seemed to be happening to the petroglyphs. The lines carved into the rock began to glow slightly.

Keno, does't wait for Jason to start climbing down the rope, before he starts looking for further passages. He did notice that Jason's footfalls on the ground seemed to come rather quickly, as he began gathering up the rocks around the center one. He got an ominous vibe off of the center, larger rock and opted to give it a wide birth. Stowing a few of the stones in his pack he took a closer look at a pair of stones and their engravings. not sure what would apply best here.

Isabella's eyes widen as, shortly after two of her fellow Applications go down the hole, the walls begin to visibly change.
"Um... Excuse me?" she calls down into the pit after quickly moving to its edge, her voice for once loud enough to be considered at conversational levels. "Keno? Jason? ...The walls are starting to glow. Did you do something down that that would make the walls start glowing?"
She turned noticeably wide eyes John's way before turning her attention back to the walls, specifically to the spiral Pokémon of Myth in its sunbed.
