Keno pumps his arm in victory, going to pick up his new Squirtle's pokeball, but the spider beat him to it.
First to John, "we made quick work of that," then to Gypsy, "sorry if you didn't get the fight you were looking for, but there's plenty of time for that. I'm certain I know were Corphish is, so That's my next stop."
Keno goes to scoop up Gypsy and pauses, "Oh yeah."
He takes out his dex, boots it up, and gives Gypsy a scan. As he is looking through the dex, he sees the other starters entries, as well as Squirtle... and Tailow? That was a suprise, until he recalled the professor saying their dex were all linked. "Looks like Izzy caught a Tailow."
Keno makes his way to the Corphish, John is welcome to follow.

" I know you want that corphish, so use this" John stated to Keno as he slipped the lock case off one of his newly caught squirtles and placed it on an unused pokeball, "I want it back once you have him though" after a second, "If you like em Ican make a couple more in a bit, just need to find the suplies."

"Thanks Professor!" Jason beams taking the Smink food, relieved he'll be able to keep the little guy fed for a few days. "Do you know anyone who does sell these?"
Jason follows the professor out of the cave and says, "Do you know what other kinds of pokemon live out here? I saw your Rufflet and he was a nice looking fellow."

Keno was curious about the lock case, he froze ashe sized it up for a Mmoment. In his mind he imagined any Pokemon he caught with this, John could just ask for saying it was rightly his. Did John think that Keno needed his help to catch Pokemon because the first pokeballs didn't capture the Squirtle? Did he view him as helpless? Mother didn't raise him to be rude, and maybe John was just being friendly, Keno could borrow it and I didn't mean you have to use it... right?
Reaching out to get a better look at the device, "I'd feel a lot better if I paid you for it."

"Just replace the ball, and the lock case is removable, so I can remove it after you catch." John then removed the case and re attached it to show Keno how they worked. "The don't help much if you miss the pokemon all together, not saying that you would, but if you hit they make it much harder for the pokemon to break free." Pausing, "This one was on the ball of that second Squirtle I caught, though I doubt i needed it. I also have this case." John pulled out a second pokeball, "This one creates a Flash, kinda like the pokemon move I am told, as a pokemon is released."
"If you like the case I can whip one together for you when we get to back into town, shouldn't take me but an hour and ill sell it to you for ummmmmmm, say 400 to cover material costs? I only have two of the lock cases at the moment so i kinda want to keep them on hand, you know just in case." Pausing a Second to think, "Did you ever retrieve that broken ball? I may be able to fix it for you."

Jason, as the professor leads you back into the visitor center, he thought about your question. "Well, since it's winter, you're not going to find too much out here. If you go to the river, there's still some basculine swimming around the surface. Rufflet are rare around town, but you can find them, along with ducklett and swanna up north at Mound Creek Wildlife Refuge. In town, there's Pidove, Purrloin, Snubble, Houndour, and Rattata as a few examples. East of here, there's some farms with Tepig, Skiddo, Mudbray, Tauros, and Miltank. South of here, toward Mercury City, there's Pikipek, Deerling, and hibernating bugs in the Wasahgee Wood."
Keno and John, you move to the chamber with the copper sunstone. You made it in time to see the Corphish, slowly feeling around the water, as before.

Keno goes to the sun stone and attempts to remove it, upholding his promise to Corphish. He packed it in his bag to return to the professor later, in case he needs to set up for another round of trials. "OK, I'm going to try to talk to Corphish and see it it wants to come along; you want to look around, see what else is around?"
Cradling Gypsy in his arms, Keno slinks through the cavern, he made his way towards the Corphish. "Hi again," he cooed, "The water should be back to normal like i promised. I'm a pokemon trainer now, and I would like it if you joined me on my adventure. Or, if you wish, you can test our strength in combat."
Gypsy hops down from Keno's arms and strikes a majestic pose, trying to impress, but not to intimidate. Keno in response holds out an empty pokeball.

While Keno talks to the strange pokemon John looks around the cave to see if there are any other interesting pokemon around.

A few of the pokemon that the Professor lists produces images inside Jason's head, he's seen some of the rodent pokemon and bovine pokemon back on his farm and recalled the Pidove from the town square. But these other beasts the Professor named, he couldn't wait to meet! "I think heading East or out to that Mercury City would be first on my list."
Jason looks to the professor with a joyful grin, "Thanks for these trails and the opportunity to become a full-fledged trainer. I don't reckon I'd ever get out of Scornvale on my own."
Once above ground Jason would like to hang out in the visitor center while waiting for the others. Walking through the exhibits again with a better knowledge since being down in the caverns and seeing if he had missed anything that he hadn't caught before. Jason is also showing Smink, still unsure of what to name him, the exhibits.

Keno, you remove the stone easily as the platform raises, plugging the drain for the water. It looks like it will be a few hours before the pool will be back to what it was though. The corphish obviously notices your return and raises its pincers in the air as it slowly approaches you. It was also not impressed by Gypsy's display, because it can't see.
John, you look around and notice the young poliwag are still present by the cave formation and the quagsire left. You do, however, catch a glympse of what appears to be a small pokemon with a round, egg-shaped body with big ears. It seems to be making little whispering sounds.
Jason, you find some more exhibits on the petroglyphs you saw while down in the cave. The descriptions explain exactly what the symbols are and what some of them mean. Some of the ones you saw, turned out to be images of four warriors that served the "Great Mystery" by protecting the world from darkness. Some of the others were of the "Spirit World", where the people were very different and strange to the Wasahgee Tribe. You also hear the professor call out, "If you want more of that food, you can find it in the pet stores in cities. They sell them in bulk!"
The elevator door opens and Izzy walks up to the desk, where the professor is waiting. She places her things and looks down, sadly at the floor. "Is something the matter Isabella?" the professor asked. She bit her lip and nods, "Yes sir, I'm sorry, but after thinking about it for a while after my first capture, I can't do this."
"Why not?"
"I... I find this hard to explain... but I don't think I can work with the other trainers at all. I try to get them together, but they don't seem to pay much mind to me enough to listen. So, I'm giving Peyote and my license back to you. Also, I'm leaving the Taillow for Jason. I think he could use it more than me. I'm sorry, but I may need to find a different way to be a trainer!" She seemed to speed up the last bit and starts to walk away, but she is stopped by the professor.
"Hold it there! Look, I understand it's not easy to have the force of will or the voice to gather others together to make a proper team and I also am a little disappointed that it didn't work out exactly as I wanted. However, I am still proud that you have at least tried to bring them together to help get through the trial easier and I am also happy to see that... Peyote... liked you enough to follow your orders as a trainer. For that, I'm sad to see you quit like this, but I cannot leave you empty handed. You don't have to be part of the experiment, but please, keep your pokemon and your license. You do have a long journey ahead of you before the summer." Izzy just clenched her fists and grabbed her things off the counter and ran out the door. Only a pokeball, containing the Taillow was left behind. "Good luck."

Gypsy didn't like being ignored, and for such a slight, was ready to launch itself into an attack lunge. "I know you're antsy, but hold on. I don't think it can actually see you, it didn't mean anything."
It wasn't running that was a good sign, so the question became throw or negotiate. To Corphish, "there's a great big world out there, you wanna come explore it with us?"

Keno recalled the Corphish exploring by touch, so he bent down and extendddd his hand with the pokeball in the center of his palm. The ball was primed for capture.

The Corphish bumps into the pokeball and instantly disappears into it. It gives the sense that it didn't see that coming at all as the ball begins to shake violently in Keno's hand.
Back when he scanned Gypsy, he saw the same information from before, but some new pages were added. They were labeled "Diet", "Habitat", "Care", "History", and "Notes".

Jason notes the four heroes and goes to take a photo of their depictions and section of the exhibit, feeling that they might be closer than just old stories. He scoops up Smink and turns back toward the desk, "Thanks Professor! We'll stock up on them--" he stops himself seeing the interaction between the professor and Izzy. He hangs back in the next room listening to the young girl. His stomach twist hoping he wasn't the reason she was leaving them. Sure, they had separated in the caverns but that didn't mean they couldn't cooperated. He looked down at Smink who looked back up at him with his cold eyes. "Don't you think about leaving now," he whispered.

The professor sighed and put the sparkling stone he got from Izzy into his desk. "Well, I guess three interns are better than none. I might as well work with what I got. Good thing it wasn't Ralph."
Keno, the pokeball shakes a few times, getting weaker, until it stopped moving and blinking. The capture was a success, but not as easily as you hoped.

The Dex said, "Whismur, a whisper pokemon. It is very timid and prefers to hide away in caves from predators. It's cries are normally similar to murmurs as it doesn't want to draw attention to itself. If anyone wishes to approach this pokemon, it is wise to bring earplugs. When threatened, it will suck air into its ears and release a cry that can be as loud as a jet aircraft. It will keep crying until it's tired and goes to sleep."

Jason approaches Professor Sequoia in an awkward shuffle, suddenly very interested in the spots down Smink's back. "All you alright?" he asks finally looking up and offering him a kind smile.

Keno was elated, but perhaps their friendship needed some work to grow on.
Working his way to John, "got it! Time to fight, or you good? There is a dunsparce around here... should be easy to spot with the bandage around it's neck..."

"Shhhh" John hissed with a bit more anger than is normal for the soft spoken inventor as he pointed to his new target. The took the encased pokeball Keno previously refused and tossed it at the Whismur.

The ball hits it and it disappears into a flash of light. The ball shakes a couple times. 1.... 2.... Suddenly, it shatters and the pokemon reappears and rolls away from the spot. It looks at you while raising its large ears in the air and its body was shaking like a leaf. It looks like its about to cry.
The professor looks at Jason and smiles. "I think I'll be fine." he said.
