Randall looks up, sauce coating his own face.
"I think they said 7 pm but I am not quite sure." He dabs his mouth with a napkin and lets his belly out a little from underneath his belt.
"Man that really hit the spot. The fight I hear is between our best student. I think I heard someone say his name was Zune, Zane, Zack, I don't really remember., but it's them vs a well known Pokemon Gym Leader so it'll be a good bout. Probably will have to get there around 6:30 We should probably go to a grocery mart around here and stock up on supplies. "
The store had many of the foods Rex could remember being back in Johto. The fish seemed fresher, the fruit seemed healthier too. When you take notice a clerk tells you that a lot of it is grown here on the island by the students. A lot of the botanist, and agriculture students contribute to help fund their studies and offer scholarships, while others just do it for fun. You are able to get back around 5 pm groceries packed away and just in time to relax before heading out the big event.

Rex probably bought more supplies than needed but he wanted to make sure he had everything he needed. Packed with a container of water and a small straw in case Shipwreck got thirsty, he wove his way through the mass of students eager for a show. He had his phone fully charged to take notes and Shipwreck at his shoulder. It would do good to take notes from professionals, and even if they weren’t they had to be something special to be the top student.
“Let’s make sure we learn all we can, okay?” Rex told his partner quietly, still unsure if he should be openly talking to him in public. “We don’t have to be number one, but we do have to proud of ourselves and try our best at everything we do. What do you say?”
The trail mix Rex packed crunched quietly in his back pocket when he squeezed by a closely clustered group of students, the sound startling a few. He barked out a helpless laugh and gave the snack a quick pat, “In case we get hungry. It’s good to keep the energy up you know? ” He turned to Randall and flashed a smile, “Do we want to get as close as we can or find some sweet vantage point?”

Shipwreck looks around the room and nods. "T he energy is crazy here, tons of thoughts. The battle is going to be good." From the shape Shipwreck's beak makes, you can assume he is smiling at the thought. The anticipated patrons of the stands shuffle to their seats as a band lights up the stage. The thrumming of hard guitar and double bass drum kits can be heard for miles. A man dressed in black and white walks towards the center of the stage, as a microphone dances down from the ceiling. “Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready for a clash of two titans? These two superstar’s names can be heard ringing from every mouth in the Pokémon world. Coming in first is our school’s challenger Vanessa Lynn owner and champion of the Dewford Gym.”
Spotlights strike an archway as a figure begins to ascend into the stage. Coming into light her vibrant red hair reflects off the incoming lights. Her tight black pants and jacket reveal a tight physique that appears hardened from years of dedication to the art of combat. Her expression resembles that of a tiger awaiting its prey. The woman breaks into a jog before hurdling into the air with a succession of front handsprings and somersaults directly into the stage. She makes a few laps around the stage throwing her arms up. With each swing, the crowd roars louder. The ref makes a calming motion and motions towards the other entrance. Vanessa “ Making his way to the ring now is the man who hardly needs an introduction here at Ragnarok. The man who has triumphed above all here at this establishment. The powerful, the indiscernible champion of us all…ZANE NOBLE.” Zane The music slows to a soft whimsical melody as a man clad in dark begins to stride into the spotlight. His jet-black hair barely reaching his ears, a crooked smile set upon his face as he looks up to the audience. Crossing his left leg over his right he takes a bow and opens his arms to the now jeering crowd. Making his final steps onto the stage he sheds his dark coat and his physique is clearer to make out. His proportionate physique is offset by his rather large bi and triceps. The ref comes forward once the two settle across from each other. The air is electric as the two reaches for their companions on their belts. “Alright ladies and gentlemen the stage is set but let’s not forget this isn’t just a singleton, but a three versus three bout. What? You thought I was done there, did I mention it was in a steel cage? This is Vanessa Lynn after all folks.”
Barely skipping a beat, a large rectangular cage drops around the fighters. A ding is heard as the two jump back and unleash the monsters inside. From Zane’s corner, a sword and shield appear floating next to him at the ready. While Vanessa sends out a large blue toad with protruding claws on each forehand. The two instantly clash, but as they lock in combat as do their fearless trainers. Vanessa rushes in quick and unleashes a flurry of blows. Zane is quicker than one would think being able to aptly dodge most the attacks while being able to counter them punch for punch it would seem. On the Pokémon end the blade glows bright and creates an illusory larger blade striking down on the toad, only to be caught in the clutches of the beast and quickly sucker punched into the blades hilt. The sword floats backwards awkwardly but is able to retaliate with an onslaught of slashes aimed at various parts of the body. Blood begins to spew from the opponent as the cuts appear deep. Falling to a knee the toad bows down, as the blade moves forward to deliver the coup de grace a smirk can be seen if only for a second. With a flying uppercut, the once downtrodden victim knocks out the blade. Turning to check on his fallen comrade Zane receives a direct kick to the ribs from Vanessa. Wheeling around he quickly returns and dispatches his next Pokémon. This time revealing what appears to a large flaming moth. The creature waste no time setting the stage ablaze. The amphibians skin dries quickly and passes out from the fiery intensity. Vanessa tumbles over and recovers her Pokémon and empties out her next gladiator. This time an aqua jackal takes the field, with a brilliant array of colors he summons an orb and fires it at the moth. This goes on for some time, the fire and the fox dancing in the heat of battle, as Vanessa and Zane trade blows. Low kicks, volleys of punches, and the like. The sound of bone hitting bone echoes through the crowd, barely audible over the massive cheering. With a final shot the fox summons a massive bone club from thin air and charges the wall of flame. Splitting himself into three with pure speed he rushes in, landing a successful final blow to the moth. Zane attempts a flip kick towards the jaw of Vanessa but is quickly met with a chop to his shin. Limping off from the force he calls back his moth and chucks his final ball at the heavy breathing fox. A fresh rival appears, this time in the shape of a dragon. With a mighty roar, the blue and red dragon grapples the fox. His final gambit clearly taking its toll, he collapses after a few minutes of combat. Spitting some blood to the side, Vanessa smiles once more and without skipping a beat sends out her ace. The four-armed titan comes out swinging. Zane for some unknown reason begins to laugh. Running his hand through his hair he reveals a wicked grin. Disengaging from the bout he jumps behind his dragon and with a final command a rush of draconian aura fills the stage. A rush of wind gusts through the crowd, however as the dust settles the image is clear. Vanessa is laying beneath an unconscious monster struggling to get free as Zane rides atop his dragon. “And there you have it folks, I barely have sound in my ear, and I think my leg is broke but the winner here has been decided. Let’s see if the champ has any words on this tremendous victory.” Zane lands his dragon on the center stage and hops off to take the microphone. “Thank you, ref, but the outcome was obvious the moment you made me enter this fight. I’m the best here, there, anywhere. I’m the next champion, I simply can’t lose to someone who runs a gym.” With his final word, he drops the mic and walks off, picking up his jacket the last thing you see is the gold flash from his cuffs as he throws his hand back nonchalantly. Make any checks you want.

Rex fell in love at the first sight of Vanessa. The announcer already had him enthralled and eager to witness the Gym Leader and seeing her strut forward, body in perfect physical condition, had Rex in awe. Her acrobatics were something to behold, her flips and spins he could tell she practiced form and flexibility for years. The crowds howled around him and he was immediately drawn to them, his voice catching in his throat he glanced to Randall to see if he would cheer but when he saw her from the corner of his eye, lips split in a toothy grin, eyes scanning the crowd, Rex screamed. He clapped and cheered and threw his hands up for her to join the majority eagerly wishing her luck. Then came Zane. Rex wasn’t sure how to read the man and as much as he hated assuming people based off of looks, his cocky swagger wasn’t like Vanessa’s confidence. The jeering crowd made him think his intuition was right but he would wait to make his final assessment after meeting him if he ever got the chance. Three on three. Rex cocked his head at the steel-cage mention because wasn’t that for humans – oh. Blood rushed into his ears as they began to fight, fists catching chins and snapping blows into guts and chests. The trainers were fighting alongside their pokemon. Rex had seen matches on television but the trainers never fought before. Rex’s opinion of Zane faltered when he saw him check on his first knocked out pokemon but he still cheered for Vanessa. They dropped after each other, first Zane’s pokemon, then Vanessa’s, then Zane’s again and Vanessa’s. He was trying to focus on the pokemon battling but he could only watch the two trainers fight. He would probably watch the match later because surely someone was recoding this masterpiece but no matter how the match swayed went his eyes immediately focused on the Machamp she summoned from the ball. His gut dropped to his feet and he saw the way Machamp came out swinging, fists striking against the looming dragon. His fathers machamp was built for work but this one was for battling, holding itself in a different way, its muscle structure and the way it watched the dragon were nothing like Rex has seen before. His hand came out to grab the floating Shipwreck above his head and tuck him closer to his chest for comfort. Just the sight of the fighting type made him want to protect his partner even though he knew there was no threat. And suddenly it was over. Rex winced with much of the crowd at the devastating wind attack and when he found his bearings he saw Vanessa and the Machamp on the ground. His heart was like a pounding drum in his chest, full of energy at the fight but thumping vibrantly as before as if the fight were still going. It made him want to fight. It sparked a surge of inspiration even if his preferred victor didn’t win. Zane’s prideful final words made his mood sour. How presumptuous to act as though he had a clean win, as if he didn’t take punches and kicks and his pokemon weren’t knocked out. With the mic drop he clenched his jaws and hoped that he wouldn’t become the next champion. Champions were supposed to be honorable people. If this was how he acted when he won he could only imagine what he’d say if he ever lost. Glancing down at Shipwreck and over at Randall, Rex blew out a long sigh. Despite it all he grinned and said, “ That was amazing.” Perception to see who Randall was hoping to win (also Shipwreck)

Throughout the match Randall appeared to be cheering for whoever looked to be winning at the time. However examining Shipwreck, he seemed enthralled with Zane's Sword and Shield, making slashing motions with his own hands when the sword would attack. Examining the fighting styles it would appear that Vanessa was something close to Kyusho Jitsu, A marital art mainly focused on disabling and manipulating pressure points. She seemed to a have a clean mix of Muy Thai and Kick Boxing thrown in as well. Zane's style was nothing remnant that Rex could pin down.
Randall nods at your statement and gets up to head out.
"I'm sure their will be killer battles happening tonight for all the adrenaline and hype surrounding this event! Lets go try and catch some."

Shipwreck acting like he was joining the brawl made Rex’s heart melt. He wanted to see more playful little actions. As for Randall, he couldn’t blame him for wanting to change sides to root for the winner but Rex couldn’t imagine doing such a thing. He made his decision and even if it was the wrong one he stuck with it.
Pushing his thoughts aside he followed after his roommate, “Are you hoping to get in a few battles or are you planning on watching?”
Rex saw the way Shipwreck’s little tendrils curled and flexed enthusiastically after seeing the finale. He wouldn’t mind seeing what he was capable of as long as Shipwreck was up for it. Then again, they had only just arrived and maybe watching and learning would be a better option.

Shipwreck pumps up his tentacles into a muscle shape and nods at the idea of battle. Randall gives a big thumbs up and begins running off. "Come on Rex, lets find some dudes to take down."

Rex grinned, “Let’s do it.”
He hoped it would be a traditional fight. Pokemon v pokemon and not like what he had seen where the trainers duked it out alongside them. While he could feel a sense of connection in the battle between them and their partners he felt like that was an advanced course or some sort.
He regretted not stocking up on actual supplies rather than cute adornments for Shipwreck but he could do that later. After their first fight perhaps?
Regardless, he’d finally get a glimpse of how strong Shipwreck was. “You’re gonna do great.” He praised his friend, sprinting after Randall aimlessly. He didn’t doubt they’d find a trainer to fight so quickly after the battle. Adrenaline was still running high.

You and Randall find a crowd quickly gathering about a mile outside the venue. A large circle is made of students ranging from various ranks. You make out mostly blue like yourself, but a few red and yellow are sprinkled in as well.
A man steps forward and motions for a circle to make.
"Alright people lets get some things started, lets see by a show of hands who wants to do this shit. Alright 1...2...3...4...." He keeps counting and his eyes fall on you.

Rex’s hand shoots into the air and he took a quick glance at Shipwreck for confirmation, glad to see how own little tendril in the air beside his.
“We can do it.”
