"Ah!" Jane cries out as the Miltank, for the first time this fights, seriously hurts Sam. The Mawile herself doesn't look all too pleased either. But also determined to bite the enemy even more!

On the bright side - this means we have hurt it! Jane frowns and tries to see the upside. Even if it was a minor one. Still - Sam had some fight left in her. And maybe the Miltank was running out of tricks! (And she had another pokémon to pick up the pieces afterwards, but she hoped she wouldn't need it!)

Miltank quickly noms a berry it had been holding onto, healing slightly. (Sitrus Berry + Lunchbox Ability = 23 hp)
It then proceeds to stomp on Mawile some more.

"Mhrhmmemrm!" Jane gnashed her teeth as the Miltank simply healed off even more damage. Oh it was so annoying to face such an resilient pokémon! Oh the irony! With a small sigh she nodded at Sam, whom were now starting to look quite battered, to go for it again!

Unfazed by the Miltanks attempt at trying something new Sam flails about for a moment before also deciding to switch tactics, this time covering her jaws in ice before biting down hard!

Miltank finally goes down, much to the Rancher's further irritation. He storms off after shoving your prize money into your hands (digitally speaking), muttering something about "dang kids and their absurd Pokemon".
Jane earns 56 Poke XP, 1 Misc XP, and 1160 PYen.

Jane cheers for Sam and her stellar endurance - a bit louder even when she hears the Ranchers muttering. Also she mumbles something about third gen best gen behind his back. But that wasn't really important! She hurries to pick up her pokémon. "Great job!" she starts to fuzz a bit while the Mawile squirms a little.

Jane rather quickly makes her way to the Vermilion City pokémon center where she places her injured Mawile on the Nurses desk, asking them to patch her up. She then rather nervously looks around to see if she can spot either the police officer or Lavender while she is waiting.

It takes only a minute or two for the battered Mawile to be restored, and obviously the police officer wouldn't bring Lavender to the Pokemon Center. They'd be at the Precinct.

Glad that she was able to heal her poor pokémon without being thrown in chains, Jane quickly finds herself outside the pokécenter considering her options. She didn't want to be arrested. But she didn't want to be a fugitive either - oh decisions decisions! With a small sigh she settled for trying to work things out as quickly as possible (if possible!) and head for the local police station to find out what she can.

Jane stops at the steps of the police station and abruptly turns around when she sees the new message. With a big sigh she lets out the deep breath she had been holding. Right! Why didn't I think to message her sooner... She usually managed to think straight - maybe she was just a bit out of alignment. Oh well at least I'm not going to jail! she thought cheerfully as she worked on a reply and started considering what she should do with her prize money.
It was certainly tempting to save it all and see if she couldn't afford some shiny TM or maybe even a ranch contract eventually but looking at her supplies she probably had more pressing needs. A few more pokéballs would certainly come in handy. And maybe some medicine just in case! So Jane headed towards the pokémart and bought the following:
300p - Revive
750p - Pokéball x3
After that she went to loiter around the Pokécenter to give Aidan the chance to either catch up or reply. And maybe she could find another trainer for a quick match?

Jane briefly hovers her hand over Sam's pokéball. It would probably be a good match-up ... But she had just gone trough a gruelling battle just now - maybe she deserved a bit of rest. Instead she picked up the next ball on her belt - letting out Teus the Flareon. "Go! Fluffy! Fire Spin!"
In response to his summoning the Flareon quickly exhales a great tornado of fire rushing towards the Linoone to engulf it!
