Jane wanders out of the city and finds a strange rock just sitting there, tucked away within the remains of what seems like a shrine. It's almost like someone wanted to hide or were protecting this rock and someone tried to bust it out.

"That's odd." Jane mumbled to herself as she cautiously approached the rock. It was also very very interesting! This rock was clearly important to someone. Or something. And she knew first hand that certain rocks could contain great power! It certainly merited a closer look.
But first she wanted someone to watch her back just in case. Ana was the most perceptive of her pokémon but she was still resting from her exposure to several Gusts. Instead she went for Fluffy the Flareon whom actually was quite attentive too as long as there were nothing edible around. Just to be sure she commanded "No you can't eat that rock Fluffy. Just keep an eye on thing all-right?"

With that taken care of Jane walked closer so she could examine the thing.

Closer examination reveals that it doesn't really look like any rock you've ever heard of/seen before. In fact, it's odd in that it has a handful of marks on its back. Twenty, to be exact. Almost like a tally someone was keeping. Searching the interwebs gets you plenty of information about Rock-Type Pokemon, but nothing on this weird not-a-rock.

Well- Jane thought to herself and put away her pokédex. -it's not a pikachu at least. Then, with a deep breath, she reached out to pick up the odd not-really-a-rock...

The not-a-rock feels icy cold to the touch, but nothing else happens from touching it.

"Hmh." Jane pondered what to do with the fancy rock. It was quite cool and all but she wasn't sure what was up with this shrine thing. A bit apprehensive she circled around to examine the structure, still holding the "rock". Maybe if she could figure out how old the thing was then she'd learn a bit more about it?

"Hmm." Jane hums to herself. She hadn't really learned anything. And she wasn't sure what she *should* be trying to learn either! So she headed back to Fluffy and snapped a few pictures of the shrine and the rock with her pokédex. Then, looking at Fluffy, she had another idea. It would be a long shot - but hey why not?
She held the rock near the Flareon so he could sniff it, careful not to hold it too close to his mouth (there was a decent chance he'd try to eat it. And she didn't think that would help the mystery in any way!). "All right! Let's see if you can pick up a scent! Do your best!"

Fluffy cannot smell anything except you and the berries in your bag. Strangely though, he backs away from the rock after sniffing it.
