Jane was already trying to take inventory of her diminishing medical supplies and looked up after Lavenders outburst. She barely catches a glimpse of the strange "Sableye" before it disappears. With a frown she agrees on her friends assessment. But her hype is steadily building as she tries to make sense of what they saw. "Yeah no that was odd! Looked almost like a Sableye evolution - but they don't have any do they? *Uh* Hmm. I wonder if we could catch it. On film at the very least! Imagine; an unknown pokémon! How cool isn't that?"
"Anyhow! I'm going to patch my pokémon a bit - that thing could probably make a mess worse then these Sableyes and we'll need to be ready!" she announces after a brief pause to daydream.

After a quick patch-up Jane looks up to find that both Raven and Lavender seems ready to go. No need to dally further then. Onwards to glory!

With only one direction the Sableye-creature could have gone, the trio quickly give chase down the tunnel. When they arrive in the next room, it (naturally) turns out to be a dead-end. It wasn't for naught though, as several more of those creatures emerge from the gloom. They hiss and bare their teeth at the group. Raven quickly sends out Karen the Gloom again and moves up beside her to try to aid her by manipulating/enhancing the Gloom's Aura. No sooner has everyone sent out their Pokemon to do battle with these "Sykata" (based on what they can be heard saying), then they fire off a volley of Confuse Rays.

Jane sends out Nie the whimsicott into the fray, commanding her to Focus. Then, since she was feeling a bit woozy Jane heads towards cover if possible and noms down a Lum Berry.
Nie dodges the confusing ray and leaps forward towards #5. She unleashes a Leech Seed and while the "Sykata" is momentarily distracted she uses her tiny (but surprisingly quick) to deliver a kick that can best be described as unsportsmanlike.

The group quickly retreats in the face of another wave of those Sykata things alongside of that other...monstrosity. Thankfully, the creatures do not pursue, though you swear you hear the large one laughing as you turn tail and run.

Salena stops and slinks down, out of breath. She had not sprinted so hard in... Well, since two or so days back. Nakelya was rather mean. "Ok... Ok. I ah... I think we can fight that thing but ah... We might want some supplies first."

Raven seems less worn down than the other two, but still slightly winded. "If we're going to fight that thing, we need a lot more than just 'supplies'. My Pokemon and I are strong, but there's only so much we can do by ourselves. Those 'Sykata' things alone took ages to bring down, even with all those status moves you guys were throwing around. We need a way to wear them down faster. If I could actually harm them it may help, but to do so we'll need more of these cleanse tags." She waves the remaining ones she got from Salena for emphasis. "A whole lot more."

"*Pew*" Jane sighs. She wasn't much for running either; she preferred to be quick witted rather then fleet of foot (or so she liked to think). Her heartbeat sounded like thunder! But it looked like they could relax now. "That was ... exhilarating! In both good and bad ways. Yeah let's head somewhere with a soft bed and plan a bit for those!"
On the way, once they are a bit further from the dark-ghosts, Jane brings out her Dowsing Rod to take advantage of the nice rocky surroundings.

Salena nods quietly in the dark, smile gleaming like marbles in the shadows. "Absolutely! I'll get making up some Cleanse Tags. They aren't too hard to make, but they can be a bit time consuming. Let's head up to surface, and then I can get down to business!"

The party makes their way back up to the surface. The following morning, Raven alerts the group to a strange message she got on her (non-pokedex) phone. She seems a little shaken up by this, which is unusual for the normally confident Raven. The message reads as follows:
"Dear Ms. Minori,
I do apologize for the abruptness with which I have contacted you, but I was very eager to get in touch with you about a certain creature that you and your small group of friends encountered in the depths of Rock Tunnel. I would like to see this creature in person, and study it for a time if I may. Please meet me in Saffron at your earliest convenience. I promise to answer any questions you have there.
Sincerely, D'Mara of the Elite Four"
"I'm going to meet her, if only to know how she got a hold of my private number. Only my Pokedex's number is registered to the League, and as a private citizen (and sibling of a Gym Leader), my non-Trainer information should be off-limits. You guys can come with or not, it's up to you."

Upon reaching the air and sky, Salena nearly fainted with pleasure. "Oh thank goodness, I am so, so very glad to be up here finally. May we never sleep in a cave again!"
However, she does spend the rest of the night huddled up in her room doing some light work. Cleanse tags for instance! She does a few today, and then another when she wakes up in the next morning after some normal training. This helps to keep her mind off the horrifying, unidentifiable menaces that had confronted them in the cave. When they meet up the next day, she's refreshed and perplexed anew.
"I wouldn't be too worried about it. Your sister said she was going to contact D'Mara about the stone, right? If she knew that, then she might have just asked about it." Salena purses her lips, then continues. "At any rate, I don't think I have an option to stay behind. She asked about us too, right? And that strange Pokémon that I caught; it still hasn't registered a blip in my Pokédex, so I'm pretty sure that must be the thing she's talking about."
Saying this, she plucks the Pokéball out of trainer belt and stares at it. "I ah... I thought about training it today just to get a feel for it but, I'm really, really not sure that's such a good idea. Usually, I can get a feel for Ghost-Types like this, but this thing is on a whole different level."

"Yes, Satori did say she was going to contact Elite Four D'Mara about the Odd Keystone, but at most she would have given out my pokedex phone number. Only family and emergency contacts should have my other one. As for that weird Pokemon you caught down there, I wouldn't recommend letting it out of its Poke Ball at all until we are sure we can contain it again if it decides to go on a rampage. D'Mara could probably handle it, or perhaps the three of us together, but those things are nasty."

Jane spent the rest of the day gathering supplies, both made and bought. And a quick trip to the Ranch of course! It felt good to check in with a bunch of friendly Pokemon after the caves. Plus she wanted to have Sam learn another move ...
---
"Oh? Well of course we'll come! Jane grins. "Maybe she knows something about the Sykata!" Then with a small frown she added. "But I admit that it's odd that she had your number. And knew about it ... Maybe the dex system has some sort of weird alert feature?"

Raven sighs in exasperation. "Put simply, short of invading my privacy by abusing her power as a member of the Elite Four, there is absolutely no way that D'Mara (or anyone else) could have acquired this number without a member of my family giving it to them. Regardless, I'm definitely going to give her a piece of my mind when we see her."

"Maybe she has connections in telemarketing... They seem to always find mine!" Jane makes a yawning attempt at a joke. With a shrug she then let that topic go, not like they'd get anywhere speculating when they could just ask a bit later. "Should we head out? I'd love to have some time to shop and brief my Pokemon before we take a shot at that big sableyey thing!"

Salena nods. "Same. I'm about ready to hit the road. I'll need to pick up a few battles here and there in Saffron City; but once I do, I should hopefully have enough funds to pay for everything I'm going to need before we challenge the cave again!"

"Sounds good! I'll just make sure to pick up the essentials here first, when I'm still sure to afford them. Sometimes I can't help but feel that the pokemarts lobbied pretty hard for the prize money rules..."

"No kidding right? I never like shopping at those places if I don't have to." Salena adds, folding her arms in defiance. Bah! All the recipes are on the internet these days, though she never did really figure out how to make a potion that didn't make her Pokémon sick instead. She sighs. "Though... This time around, I miiiight have to buy a few drinks and potions. I had no good ways of healing my Pokémon down there, which isn't good. So I need to be ready for action next time."
She shakes her head. "Anyways! Let's meet up again in about say... Two hours by the western gate? I think we should all be ready by then."
And then, saying this, she said the parting words and got down to business. First she needed to do some battling. Then she needed to get some trading done. Not all of her recent captures really suited her, but perhaps she could find someone who might like them?

Chance of Clefairy trade succeeding: 50%. 6SpyhXMQ1d2 1 is success. Success! Jellicent is level 35, Male, Quirky, with Water Absorb and Cursed Body.
For Bastiodon, a Swanna is offered instead of Golett.1d2
