Doesn't even look like anything is up there now. So weird!

Ok. Nice. Now that the obvious was out of the way, Salena decides to challenge her curiosity with a little experiment.
She closes her eyes tightly, folding her lids over themselves in an almost painful manner. One. Two. Three. Four. Five.
Her eyes open and she scans the room with a new set of eyes. For a short time, her contacts were a tool to seeing beyond sight into the unknown; a sort of psionic, second sight. If anyone used Psychic powers in this room recently, she would know. And if she followed their trail, then maybe she could find her way out!

It would seem that no Psychics have passed this way recently. Or possibly ever, though that'd be weird for a Poison Gym. You'd think someone would have tried to teleport out of the trick room or brought psychic pokemon with to challenge the gym. Either way, there is no visible Psychic Residue in the room.

Salena shrugs. Well, now wasn't the time to look at that too closely.
Putting it all together, there were four walls around her. The ceiling isn't an option. Could something be under the floor? She takes a peek under the mat she fell onto. Failing that then, the walls. Aha! The walls! Well, while she was checking out the mat, maybe she could have her Pokémon phase through the wall and search for hidden passages!
She reaches down for her Pokémon idly and calls Ms. Christie out on the scene to search the walls!

Ms. Christie finds herself unable to phase through any of the surfaces in the room. Someone planned ahead. Beneath the mat is a trapdoor, but it turns out to be locked. No getting out that way, as aside from the mat, there are no other loose objects in the room.

"Shoot... Well, thanks girl!" Salena says, returning Ms. Christie to her place of origin.
Ok. So. Four walls on each side, and one trapdoor. Locked. Now, they wouldn't have a lock door if they hadn't intended for her to follow it, so that meant that somewhere, there was probably a key! That and maybe a cleanse tag or two. That meant that the key was either in the walls or... In the mat? Well. The actual floor was a possibility too, but you know, options. She'd save that one for last.
So Salena gently puts her hands onto the wall, except... Well. It could take a while just searching by hand. But, if someone was making a hidden compartment or something like that, there would usually be a seam of some sort. So, it stood to reason that if she found that seam. "...I'd find where they are hiding that key!" She finishes with a smirk.
Well. No drastic methods first. She takes her fingernails and softly pulls them across the back of the wall. If they catch anywhere, that probably meant there was something behind that wall, hiding in some secret cubbyhole! And if it's not there, then it's got to be rolled up in the mat! And if it's not rolled up in the mat, then it's got to be in the floor! Let's get searching!

The walls seem to have no key in them, but only because it's literally sewn into the mat itself! Quickly cutting it out, you go to insert it into the...non-existent keyhole. It's a trick!

Tricky Gym. Tricky. Salena grinned just about from ear to ear. "Hah! So that's their game, huh? Well let's just try... This!"
Salena wraps her fingers about the trapdoor itself and pulls upwards! Perhaps under this fake trapdoor... There would be a REAL trapdoor!

Turns out, nope. It's literally just a painted-on Trapdoor with a real handle for added trickery. Seems the true exit is elsewhere. Not a bad strategy though, one would think.

Tricksy floor. Hah! Smart! just too smart! Salena taps the handle happily. "You win this time friend." She gives the fake handle a quick twist for good measure anyways. Could be a trick too.
Failing any results from that, she gets up off the floor and considers her options. Ok. So, the floor is a bust and the wall is a bust, and she can't really see that far up into the ceiling to assume anything about up there. So, one of those things is still hiding something. After all of the effort with the floor, the solution probably doesn't have anything to do with that. Then, there was no way she could get that far up in the ceiling; even if there was something hiding there. All that left was the walls.
She frowns. Ok. So, the fingernail idea didn't really work, but she really wasn't paying all that much attention when she was doing it. It wouldn't take too much effort to try again but... Eh. There was probably some kind insanity clause for this. If she kept trying, she'd probably go dangerously mad. Mad I say! Mad. Mad... Mad science!
Salena bursts into a fit of giggles. Of course! Why didn't she think of this sooner? There was no problem that science couldn't solve!
She slams down her chemistry kit down onto the ground and immediately gets to work on melting down her scented candles in the old Bunsen Cauldron. There were two distinct reasons for this. First, is that they made the room smell good. Reason two is that when the candles were soft enough, the wax would be able to take the shape of a surface. This meant that any indentation would be reflected by a ridge in the wax!
So, after pouring the wax into an empty pester ball casing (Which, were already basically just plasticky bags designed to hold potentially caustic chemicals), she presses the bag up against the wall to investigate, occasionally reheating the wax when it grows too firm to investigate with.
Failing that? Well. Maybe she could watch the steam? The properties of a gas dictated that it was going to seek the most impeded way out of the room, but that could just as easily mean the trap door right above her. Still. Maybe it would be a worth a shot, if all else failed...
Technology Edu. to create, and manipulate wax balls in the name of a more scientifically driven method of escape! yBA4Z5rX5d6+3
Perception, because oh no, the wax isn't doing anything this was probably a bad idea, oh no this wax is hot ow. Better watch the steam and see where it goes, ow. 2d6+15d6+3·2d6+1

The only thing accomplished by attempting to twist the handle is hurting your hand when it won't budge. The other thing noticed is that somehow her bag full of goodies disappeared when she fell down the trap door. Salena has only things she kept on her person.

Salena blinks twice and her science related fantasies all drift away. Geeze. How didn't she notice her bag was missing like that? Sneaky gym. Sneaky.
Ok so. She didn't have her things to test that hypothesis, but she was still reasonably, not insanely, sure that there was probably some kind of secret passage in the wall. There were always passages in the walls. That's just a staple of these kind of things.
So, if that was the only way out, then that was the only way she needed to search! Except, not with her fingernails this time. That kind of hurt a little anyways. This time, she would simply knock, and if it sounded hollow, than she knew that was the door with the secret passage, which meant she had to explore it further. Easy, right? Easy!

It takes several circuits of the room, knocking on walls to eventually determine that there is something different about one of them. It's not quite hollow, but there is definitely something there. After further, more determined examination, Salena discovers a door hidden behind a wall panel! Clever girl! This door opens right up into a long hallway with what seems to be another door at the far end. Perhaps you're home free?

Yes! Definitely home free! Salena charges forward with reckless abandon to open said door with her mat key. It doesn't matter whether it fits in the lock or not, it just needs to open!

Of course, Salena quickly realizes she's not actually getting anywhere near the door. That's very odd. Apparently they aren't out of tricks yet!

"Trick hooooouse!" Salena cries in exasperation. "I'll show you!"
...
After another minute of these shenanigans, Salena is laid out on the floor having done her cardio for the day. "Ok... So... Huff. Oh geeze. This room... Huff."
Her hands reach down to her pockets and retrieves a Pokéball. Mr. Brown immediately fills up the hallway, observing all with an even, scrupulous gaze. Arms. To think he has arms now, what fun! Oh wait, trainer trying to say something. "-go... Oh dear... Could you ah... Open the ah... Door Mr. Brown? Nnnngh..."
Mr. Brown stares at the door.. Then at Salena. Then back at the door. It wasn't his place to ask why Salena just didn't get up and walk over there herself, he thought, but it's still very lazy. But, being a nice pumpkin, he levitates placidly over to the door (If he is able), and attempts to finesse his noodle arms around the doorknob.

Mr. Brown levitates over to the far end just fine, but finds that there is nothing over there for him to grab onto. Seems it's yet another trick! Mr. Brown returns to Salena's side to express this.

Salena finishes staring into Mr. Brown's eyes long enough to register this newfound fact with a great deal of confusion. "The door... Is a fake? No way..." After a quick dust-off, she rises, returns Mr. Brown, and has another thinking session.
Ok. So, this is what information has been gathered so far. She can't reach the door by walking. But, something that's not walking on the floor can reach the door. Which, was fake. So, maybe it wasn't worth going over there anyways? Maybe. For now, she goes off the assumption that Mr. Brown and her aren't insane. So. Options? Well for starters, the mystery of the floor. She gets into door way and begins to crawl. Maybe there was something that she couldn't notice when she was standing up. She needed to take a look at this from the ground level!

Even when bringing it to eye level it's difficult to see, but the floor appears to be different in the hallway, save for narrow strips along the walls. Seems it's a conveyor belt floor to throw people off! The narrow strips along the walls must be regular floor then.

Aha! Easy peasy! Salena giggles manically as she hugs the wall to her destination up to the door. Hopefully, there wouldn't be more conveyer belts at the end of the hall. If she is able to reach the end, she stands before the 'door' and checks it for secrets using the knock-knock method. Failing that, it would mean she goes to check the other walls nearby. Somewhere, there might be yet another passage. And behind that passage, surely there would be freedom!
