Iris is last on the scene, figures, and she arrives to a conflict mostly resolved. Well, if it could be called a conflict in the first place. The Tarphaggos that she had figured wanted to stay behind at its lake home had evidently actually been following them... and the poor guy looked absolutely terrified of Yoko. Initiating contact, Iris requested permission to channel the turtle to answer her questions. In the meantime, she waves her hand in a downward motion to sign that everyone can put their weapons down, with everyone being just Yoko as even Shossk hadn't pulled out his bow and arrow... He probably didn't have it. After all, he was naked. Iris hadn't checked. She wasn't perfect, okay? "It's okay, the turtle isn't hostile," she confirms, "He's (She's?) lonely and quite nice, actually. We talked while you guys were finishing with the Bleech and Floappul earlier." She wished she could say more about the turtle's immediate motive for following the group all the way out here. There could have been another threat as much as the turtle could have just been slow in moving, but as long as Iris was trying to verbally sort out everything, the amount she could pay heed to anything but what the Tarphaggos wanted her to know immediately was limited.
Iris also remembered that, despite all her misgivings about Light, Light had been of some comfort to the Tarphaggos. She presses the pokeball and releases her Zorua.
Light, upon release, is also confused by the scene in front of her. She had been expecting a battle, but now it seemed her trainer's teammate was the threat? That didn't make sense. The Zorua looks up at Iris and then back at the Tarphaggos and then back at Iris, waiting for an answer.
Iris nods in response, not needing to channel Light to know that she wanted to approach the Tarphaggos.
Having permission now, Light trotted up to her new friend, who she had thought she would not see again for a while, if at all. A concerned mewl from Light, wanting to know, before anything else, if the Tarphaggos was all right.
Ah, and of course Yoko wasn't forgotten. "Yoko, are you alright?" Iris looked to the girl who very obviously looked like she wasn't alright but... She didn't look hurt, either.

Yoko couldn't help but inwardly sigh in relief at the familiar sight of her companions, relieved to know that she hadn't been abandoned, and that she was just being paranoid about it. A few long seconds later and she finally drops her guard, though she warily keeps her eyes on the turtle creature that was now cowering behind Layl. When Iris asks her if she's alright, Yoko pauses, unsure of what to say. Every time she had been asked if she was okay, she had either lied or avoided the question. Maybe, just this once, she could be honest. After letting her gaze linger on the turtle creature for a few more seconds, she turns to address Iris.
"I'm going to be honest here. I'm not alright. I'm scared, tired, and confused, and now I'm getting paranoid. I keep thinking that something's just going to jump out and attack me, and then that thing appeared out of nowhere and ran straight at me. I panicked and lashed out at it because in my mind, I thought it was going to attack me. I'm sorry I hit you," Yoko apologizes, turning to the turtle creature and giving it a low bow. She then straightened up and continued. "I'm trying to be brave and act calm, but the truth is, I'm really scared and confused. I just don't know what's going on any more." With her honest feelings now out in the open, Yoko lets her gaze drop down to look at her feet.

The Tarphaggos eagerly allows the connection to form, Iris feels a wave of relief coming from it. Doubly so once Light was released. It gave Light a wan smile and a wave as once she looked at it. When Yoko apologizes it looks up at her, then at Layl, then back to Yoko before sidling out from behind Layl to stand by Light.

Layl looked over at Light, grateful for the help with the turtle. It was clear Mr. Turtle here wanted to follow the group, and admittedly, that would be easier if he just joined them. Layl nodded to herself, if the turtle still wanted to stay with the group after this, she would offer to take it onto her team.
Yoko's speech grabbed her attention before she could voice her idea, how long has it been since she was in the same position as Yoko here? How many months...years? has it been since she joined her union and started the fight against heartless, barely understanding what's going on around her? She had honestly forgotten how it felt to be so lost and confused and...unprepared for all of this. She slowly started walking towards Yoko, trying her best to ease her worries."Yoko...don't worry, you're not alone, we're all scared, and I'm certainly paranoid about this, but you can take solace in knowing you aren't alone in this...we're all here for you, sure, some of us aren't really good at the whole emotional support thing, but...all our hearts are connected, y'know? You're never really alone, you have your friends and family right here" As she reaches Yoko, Layl lays her hand right on Yoko's chest right where her heart is.

Shossk stares at Yoko impassively. She was not attacked, and she appeared to be unharmed. It may have been unpleasant to be left by herself, but now she was relatively safe. What was her concern? "You are right. Wwe were mistaken to leave you alone - it put you in danger. But nnow we are gathered. You do not need to be so concerned for your ssafety at this moment."
Meanwhile, Calt notices the mysterious, multiplying turtle again. The owl peers at him suspiciously, not taking his eyes off of him for fear of missing its trick again.

Light tries to cheer up the turtle but... but... Iris had been so angry last time. Iris, still keeping half an eye on the Pokemon and the other half on the people, momentarily gave her full attention to the Pokemon when she noticed Light staring intently at her. Light does the glancing thing again, but she was already next to the turtle. Iris just stared at her Zorua, quite confused, so she had no choice but to channel Light as well. Through their channel, she felt a request to transform like the last time, a request that was immediately met with... not disgust but a similar feeling of drawing away. A dash of fear, definitely suspicion, and overall suspicion. However... in the end, Light's pure intentions won out. Iris reluctantly gave permission... which Light would have not acted upon if she also couldn't feel that her intent and the trainers were the same, to quickly help the Tarphaggos feel better after getting a bump on his head.
Iris returned to splitting her attention to keep tabs on the group as a whole while Light shifted. Propping herself on her hind legs in front of the Tarphaggos again, she cloaked herself in an illusion and began to mirror the Tarphaggos once more, a yip before it all letting the turtle know she was about to play with it again.
Calt, if he bothered to pay attention to not just Light but also the yet retained connection with Iris, probably got a hint regarding what Light did. Iris was just accustomed to sharing everything she learned and felt through channeling one Pokemon with the others in the link.
Iris said her own bit for the discussion between trainers, "Yoko, it's fine to make mistakes. Everyone does. I mean, look at me," a point at the fruit splattered all over Iris and a smile to show just how little it mattered, "I got into quite the mess myself while alone. Ahahaha. I'm sure the Tarphaggos is appreciative of the apology. Um... and in case you find it difficult to consider people you met less than half a day ago to be friends and family, it's fine. I'm sure as our lives get threatened, we'll warm up fast enough. Until then, we're all in this together, clueless and everything. That being said, I definitely agree with what Layl means, but at the same time, don't be afraid to figure out your own way. I think it's important to explore all your options and find something that helps you cope. Everyone has a different way. Some people Head Smash rocks. Some dig holes in beaches. In the end, we all came together."
Talking about messes. Iris turned to Calt and Shossk. She asked the to, "Also, Calt. Shossk. I... um... left all the fruit I picked back there. Do you mind bringing it back? And my sleeping bag, too? I would go with you, especially right after a scare... but I'd really like to wash up if you don't mind." She'd also pointed out the splatter of fruit on her head and clothes.

Calt's eyes bulge as Light transforms into a turtle! Or... he gets the feeling Light's just disguising himself as a turtle? So it wasn't the turtle multiplying at all! Calt trots over and pats the Light-turtle with a leafy wing.
Shossk nods at Iris. "Iff you wish to wait until I return, I will wwatch for you as you bathe. If it cannot wait, do nnot go alone." He tilts his head marginally. "Perhaps the hippo creaturre will assist you?"
Shossk then goes off to retrieve Iris' sleeping bag and fruit, bringing his bow (and only his bow) this time. Calt comes too, after congratulating himself on discovering the turtle's secret that had nothing to do with the turtle.

With all these comforting words being sent her way, Yoko musters the courage to bring her head back up to look at the others, a teary-eyed smile on her face. "Thank you," she said to them, grateful for their support. She then gently brushes away Layl's hand and wipes the tears away, then gave them a reassuring smile and said, "I feel better now."

Layl gave a soft smile back, glad that she had helped Yoko through this, Layl was confident it wasn't over, but as long as they all had each other's backs, everything would be fine. Layl patted the girl on the shoulder, giving a reassuring squeeze before walking off to the turtle. Speaking of having each other's backs...
"Well Mr. Turtle, you've seen us at our worst, still want to follow around with our crazy, little family?" She pulled out one of the strange little contraptions for catching things and held it out to the turtle. If he wanted to come along, this would be a far easier way than him having to keep up with the group.

The Tarphaggos bounced up and down with joy when Light transformed, Iris could feel another wave of happiness wash over it. Once again it began making poses and faces as Light mimicked it. Once Layl approached it the Tarphaggos looked up at her. Iris could feel that it didn't quite know what the strange red and white sphere was but she could feel that the talk of family brought about a slew of emotions. Mostly positive but with undercurrents of the previous loss. It nodded at Layl after only a few seconds consideration, determined to go with them and not be left alone again.

"I won't be far," Iris assured Shossk after returning Yoko's smile, "and I'll be careful." She did, visibly, accept Shossk's offer, though, waving over to the Floappull. She cut her connection with Light to channel the still eating Floappul, wondering if it would mind going a little further upriver to continuing dredging for her food. That way, Iris could have some privacy.
As for the turtle, she answered its curiosity. <The ball is...,> Iris sent thoughts and memories of what the ball would do. A sort of promise, a contract, between trainer and Pokemon to be partners. Once captured, he might not ever return home, but he would also find a new home and family.

The Floappull stands up in the river as it begrudgingly accepts the channel. Water splashes everywhere as it begins splashing upriver at Iris's request.
Tarphaggos looks up at Iris as she begins to explain what the Pokeball does. It nods, sending her a mix of longing to be part of something and the desire to not be alone anymore. The feeling of long days sitting on a beach alone with days going by where it saw nothing but the occasional bug or bird flying over head or the occasional creature coming for a drink. Turning back to Layl it nods once more and reaches for the sphere.

Shossk returns some time later with the fruit stashed in Iris' sleeping bag. The thought occurred to him to spend some extra time harvesting more fruit, but he realizes that Iris will likely want to wash her sleeping bag as well, in which case she'll need time to dry it.
He will attempt to deposit the fruit into the paper bags of holding before taking the sleeping bag to the part of the river in which Iris may or may not still be bathing.

Layl let's the turtle hit it, expecting the same affair as with the Bleech before. This was exactly what she offered so there weren't any complaints here if it wanted to join her team...though she had no idea what to name it....Mr. Turtle it is!

Iris tried to wash as quickly as possible, accompanied by the feeding Floappull and, of course, Light, who she also gave a quick scrub down of. Clothes were... going to be difficult. Not washing them, of course. She just needed to soak, squeeze, and repeat a few times to get the juices out. It was what to do after washing while they were drying and she was distinctly without any clothes. Her own fire? She could try with her presumably water logged lighter. Hide behind the Floappull and go back to camp? Now, that would be a bit funny and might elicit a laugh. On the downside, staying in water for too long couldn't be good. <I've bathed in public bathrooms before,> Iris tried to reason why it wouldn't be so bad, <But not as the only one naked.> Funny how a small detail made everything so much harder.
Well, Iris never was one to linger so long on uncertainty. It was all just girls... plus Shossk, but as evident from when Shossk burst in with no clothes, and thankfully nothing showing because of that, he didn't care much for clothes or lack thereof. Yes, everything will be fine. Unpleasant but fine, and overall less unpleasant than being caught alone and unawares by some vicious predator out here. Still... <Yes,> Iris very firmly decided, <I shouldn't interrupt the Floappull again. I should let it finish feeding first and then go back to the group,> to procrastinate. Maybe by then, her clothes would even have dried enough to very uncomfortably put them on? The underwear at least?
That was how Shossk would reach Iris as she stood on the shore after she was done bathing, still stark naked and waving her underwear in the air in the hopes the a man-made breeze will hasten the drying after she's squeezed out as much water as she could without stretching the fabric. At least, that was what she was doing until footsteps and the like drew her attention to Shossk's arrival. Once Shossk made his appearance, Iris just froze... just as speechless as she was clothesless.

Shossk blinks and stares. Iris was definitely female, he could see. He had assumed as much due to her slightness of build, but wasn't entirely certain until now. Though, he still wasn't certain whether she was a small human or a large halfling - he had a difficult time telling the various human-like races apart.
The lack of coverings sparked another thought, namely how rare it was to see any member of the human-like races as such. It made sense, with how soft their skin was. It offered no real protection, unlike lizardfolk scales, so to compensate the human-likes were near universally clothed and armored, save for their hairy heads. It was to the point that his companions had told Shossk to wear clothes himself, so he wouldn't be mistaken for a monster in the various villages and cities the adventurers visited. It occurred to him that Iris may have mistaken him for one just now, with how she stands frozen.
"Do nnot be alarmed. I have brought your bedroll," he says to unlikely alleviate her concerns, hefting the sticky sleeping bag. He blinks again and tilts his head marginally. "Iff you are drying, I may clean it for you."

"U-uh... S-sure that will be a lot, I mean, really appreciated. Then I'll... I'll just be... over there," Iris tries to keep her cool. Iris tries to smile, though the upward curve of her lips was rather obviously broken and... awkward. Iris tries to not run as she walks as quickly as possible to "over there," which was into the jungle and behind a tree. Once out of sight, she exhaled a silent groan and covered her face with her hands, and her underwear by extension of being held in said hands. <I was right. I was right,> she tries to reason her way to calm, <Shossk doesn't care. He doesn't care. He probably doesn't even know what was wrooooong. Gah! But that somehow makes it feel worse even as it feels better?! I mean, human decency, right?! I should be able to be angry at him for walking in on me like that, but not only did he not really mean to, he doesn't really know he's done anything wrong it looks like?!>. Trying to vent her emotions, she tried out what Xenna would often do and banged her head into the nearest solid object, this one being a tree. The results, <Ow ow ow. Bad idea. Baaaad idea.>
Light had followed Iris, but she could still be seen from the river bank. Maybe if Shossk could read the Zorua's emotions from her profile and the way she stood on all fours with her hair on end, he would see concern, confusion, and alarm all mixed together. However, she hadn't charged or taken any other action, something Light would have most definitely done if Iris was in any sort of actual danger.

Shossk's head tilted another degree as Iris retreated behind a tree. She was behaving strangely, he understood that much. Did she feel vulnerable without her clothes? It was possible. Veska acted strangely, too, when she first disrobed in front of Shossk. She felt weird and uncomfortable, she had told him, though the feeling subsided the more she repeated the act. Veska was a kobold, but she was still small and fragile compared to most races, especially compared to a lizardman. Perhaps the feeling was instinctual for her, as well as for the softer-skinned races?
"Iff you feel vulnerable without your clothes," Shossk says, wading into the river with the stained sleeping bag, "I am willinng to watch and protect you, should you need to remmove them in the future."

Layl didn't really pay attention to the antics that may or may not be happening elsewhere, she didn't even really notice Shossk was missing. Layl sent out Mr. Turtle, she was trying to get to know Umbra so might as well get to know them both at the same time.
"We haven't exactly had a proper intoduction yet, My name's Layl, it's a pleasure to meet you both!" She gave the two a smile and a wave as she introduced herself, impressions matter!...even though she had beat Umbra with a key as her first impression.
