11:30AM, Day 1, January 1090
Virizion's New Year party was the most worldly and classy - take that, Cobalion! - of all four schools. With their emphasis on learning the world and the high amount of foreign students, the school has always encouraged a global village-themed party where not only were students able to go crazy and have fun, but to do it and learn something at the same time. The food has the most varieties - take that, chefs from Keldeo! - and the activities were all pretty unique, and weird, and sometime dull. As a whole, Virizion's party has always been the most structured of all, with set events at a certain time and so, and on-stage performance for the first few hours of the event. The after-party could be crazy in some years but if we were to compare it to the other schools, it was really nothing.
While the Virizion might not quell the thirst of the party animals among the students, the students rarely suffered from all the after-party drawbacks in the next morning. The graduation ceremony, hosted in the grand hall designed by famous designer and an alumni, Peter Versace, famous for incorporating the traditional elements of different regions into his design, started precisely at 9AM. After a couple of speeches from the headmaster, with his hot-blooded "we are the world theme" every year, the factualty representative, this year it was Mr. Louis McFarren with his Geology-inspired speech that relates students to different biome and how important it is to work together into one like Mother Earth, and then the student representative and graduate committee of the year, Minnie Bellis, who was a real beyotch to most students, with her typical pretentious speech that could be summarized as "ten reasons as to why I am freaking awesome and why I deserve this position".
The certification process came followed the speech, where every student took their time up the stage for their "starter package". For one of the foreign students from Sinnoh, this was the special day as his parents were the only foreign parents to attend. Heck, even most of the locals did not come, but that was always the case. After everyone was done, the ceremony ended there. The small scale post-ceremony tea party afterward was hosted in the same exact hall. Some students stayed, some went away immediately and some were spending time with their Pokemon starters.

For Marcus, his last night at Virizion Academy started with a difficult choice. Did he go to bed early so he could start his journey sooner, or did he stay up and experience all the exotic things the celebration had to offer? In the end, it was his desire to explore that won out, and sent him wandering like a Zigzagoon across campus all night. He tried everything from a Kalosian dish that he could have sworn looked like it was made from Shelmet, to a little too much rice wine from Kanto. The night culminated in a race across the Portwich harbour, Marcus swimming against a couple students from Hoenn. They emerged from the water to ragged cheers from the assembled spectators, Marcus having taken second, and then all three of them collapsed on the wharf, the combined intoxication and exhaustion ending their party for them.
Marcus woke first of the three the following morning, his body's clock still set to wake him early. It took him a moment to realise where he was, why his clothes were damp from head to toe, and who the guy and girl sleeping on the concrete next to him were, but he got there eventually. When he did he smiled, and then hesitated for a moment, before shaking the other two students awake. They wouldn't want to miss graduation, and they were getting some strange looks from the morning shift dock workers. Together, they returned to the dorms, laughing about how stupid they'd been the previous night.
When Marcus arrived at the grand hall, he looked pretty good for where he'd spent the night. Sure, his stomach felt like it was full of gravel, but he wore a sharp brown sport coat over a nice button-down shirt, and straight cut bright green chinos. He'd even had time to style his hair before noticing he was almost late to the ceremony. He now sat on the edge of one of the middle rows of chairs, waiting with the trademark patience his professors had come to expect from him. Suffice it to say, the speeches couldn't end quickly enough.
Eventually though they did, and Professor McFarren's speech had actually been kind of interesting, so it wasn't all bad. Regardless, it was out of his mind the instant he stepped up onto the stage to receive his starter package. His parents had actually come to graduation, unlike many of the other students, but they were only able to stay for a single picture before saying their goodbyes and dashing off to catch a flight to Johto. Marcus left the stage with a similar speed, no longer able to wait to meet his new partner.
The Treeko burst from her Pokeball onto the floor, looking pretty cute as the summoning sparkles dissipated around her. "Hey there," Marcus said to her with a wide grin, "Nice to meet you. My name's Marcus. We're going to be exploring together from now on." He reached out a hand to the small green lizard, intending to let her sniff his fingers. Instead, she hopped up onto his arm, and crawled around it to his shoulder. Marcus laughed, turning his head to look at her again, "We're going to get along fine. I've been trying to think of a name for you since I saw your pictures a week ago. I think I finally settled on Sorrel. How does that sound?"
Sorrel answered him with a happy, "Tree~," and Marcus renewed his smile.
Now, Marcus thought to himself, Let's see about finding you a friend, so you don't get lonely while we're adventuring. He looked around the area of the hall in which he stood, hoping to find a potential traveling companion. Ideally, he was hoping he'd see one of the foreigners he'd swam against last night, but anyone who wasn't in a conversation with someone already, and didn't have a Water Pokemon would work.

Marcus was lucky enough to find his two foreign friends around the hall. They were not among the few early leavers who were probably half way off the city by now. At this point of the meeting, almost everyone were in the middle of chatting with others, most of them in group, or were busy with their Pokemon. The buffet tables were especially packed, as trainers and Pokemon were delighted to share their first meal together. No one could argue with free food, especially when these trainers were not expecting to earn a lot in the early stage of their career. Some might not even earn a decent amount until their retirement, not something anyone would like to think about on their first day, but a harsh and brutal truth nonetheless.
Marcus did spot his two foreign friends from Hoenn among the crowd. First, Okamoto Tekkan, the Karate Kid of the class, the president of the school's martial art club until today, whose biggest achievement is winning the regional annual Karate tournament last year. Among the classmates, he was seen as the one that would do great in full-contact battle right away and he sure looked as ready as he could to do so. Okamoto was a little...dense, and sometime made some questionable decisions in battle but his fighting spirit and general toughness covered that weakness of him easily. Okamoto has all the raw athleticism but he was not that good in all kind of brainiac activities, even survival knowledge eluded him. Marcus was a big reason why he passed the survival class, they were in the same group in the group test to survive in the wilderness for three days. It was safe to say Marcus did all the things out there but Okamoto did help a lot in all the strength-oriented works so he was not completely useless out there. At the current moment, he was kneeling and chatting with his starter, a Tyrogue, even gave the little fellow martial artist a brofist to kickstart their bond.
The other Hoenn graduate, Gresa Cosgrove, was sitting by the edge of the empty stage right now. Gresa was...let's just say, unique, of a person. She was kind of a know-it-all but only on obscure, unimportant, not-useful-in-life knowledge. It's as if she was only interested in things that would not help her in life. On one hand, she did fit the Virizion ideal of learning everything about the whole wide world, but on the other hand, she should maybe focus a little bit more on things that might be useful to his career, trainer or otherwise. Gresa was downright average in almost every class, except knowledge-based classes that not many people care about, most of them optional, like Pokemon legends and myth, geology, astrology and so on. At the moment, she was sharing some food with the Natu besides her while looking at what others were doing around the hall.
[If you want other options, please say so.]

Marcus approached Gresa, pretending for a minute or two to just be leaning up against the stage nearby, looking around, and interacting with Sorrel, before finally managing to get himself to talk to her. "He Gresa," he began, planting himself in front of where she was gazing out into the crowd. "Nice race last night. I can't believe Okamoto can swim that fast," he said with a rueful grin. "I was wondering what your plans were now that we're free to go wherever we please. Are you going to try and study legends or something?"
He had chosen Gresa, because he felt her talents best complimented his own. Much of what Okamoto was good at, he could already handle, and...to put it lightly...he found the guy a little dull, and therefore hard to talk to. He and his Tyrogue probably wouldn't make the best friends for Sorrel. Marcus hoped Gresa would prove otherwise.

Life inside the hall proceeded like usual in the last two minutes Marcus spent on chilling by the side of the stage. Aside from a barrage of Pokeball beams all over that place that would put someone with high sensitivity to light into seizure, nothing eye-catching really happened. The few minutes of peering around did give him some information. He found not too many of his peers started with a water type. The typing was quite balanced actually, ignoring the rarer types like steel, dragon and maybe something else, the field is well-distributed. So, finding a friend for Sorrel should not be very hard. One thing of note though, many others have also started to group up and some of the loners did not look like they planned to travel with other people.
Sorrel was as attentive as her written description, responding to whatever Marcus has for her. For other time, she just stood calmly on top of Marcus' shoulder, sometime sticking one of her hands at Marcus' neck for extra support. She was mostly quiet and did not do much proactively, preferred to wait and react, but Marcus did see her eyeing the buffet table more than anything else around the room.
Then, Marcus finally approached Gresa, who was chuckling at something as Marcus closed in. Marcus leaned himself by the stage; the ledge is just right for putting his arms for some rest if he chose to. Sorrel happily landed herself up on the stage since it was just a short leap and scouting the room quietly and enthusiastically from the position, looking at Gresa an her owner on occasion. Gresa's feet swinging in sync by Marcus' side, the girl was happy and relaxed, that's all Marcus would know by now. "You are not good at pretending, aren't you? That is quite unlike you. You always head into something...head first."
Whether Marcus enjoy Gresa's keen observation or not, he asked the question, propting a little moment of silence from Gresa. The only voice between the two of you was her little Natu pecking at the fruit cake she has put down on the stage floor. The rest of the hall was as loud and vibrant as usual, but the two of you could easily ignore that part of the space. "Are you...asking me to join your expedition? Do you think I am good enough, physically? I know alcohol kidn of mess up with one's body but my normal swimming speed is not much different from last night's. And I am like like that all across the board." Sorrel focused on the conversation at hand, even though she was not so sure about everything that was discussed. The Natu, on the other hand, continued to enjoy her food and ignoring everything so far.
"Some classmates have said that you would be either fishing for Magmortar and Magcargo at the tip of the volcano or punching Sharpedo in the depth of the sea by the end of this month. I don't think your progress would be that good if I am to tag along." Gresa continued.

Marcus actually let out a small sigh of relief at the direct route she took to the conversation. He could handle small talk, but he didn't really enjoy it, so her cutting to the chase was appreciated. "Truth be told," he began, indeed resting an arm on the stage, "that doesn't sound too far off what my plan was a week ago. I've had to make some adjustments for Sorrel though," he nods to the Treecko to ensure clarity. "So yeah, I am asking you to join me. I think our skills likely compliment each other. And swimming speed isn't going to be a problem at least for a while."

Gresa took a small bite of the cupcake as Marcus talked. "I kind of jumped the gun, didn't I? I haven't even answer your initial questions. Studying legends can be fun but if I am to do that, I would have just become an archaeologist in Hoenn and travel the world since then. I don't know what I am to do but I know I will have to improve my team, make new Pokemon friends, and hopefully win something soon so I have the time and money to do whatever I like." Gresa took a short break from the talking, her legs have stopped their enthusiastic kicks and swings.
"I never expect anyone to ask me to travel together, so I have not even think about this. You might have to give me a few minutes to consider." The young girl put up a smile on her face as she looked at Marcus. "But before that, I have some questions. How many others are you looking for to join you...or us? And how deep into the wild are you planning to go? And where are you headed right now?" Gresa followed up with a few questions of her own.
The Natu continued to ignore the developing conversation, sticking to her food as of now. Sorrel flinched a little bit whenever the word "swim" was mentioned but did not much else besides that. She might not understand every word thrown out but such sensitive words gave her chills, and hopefully not nightmare tonight.

Marcus reaches out a hand for Sorrel, hoping she'll hop onto it so he can hold her in his arms and comfort her a little after the mention of swimming. "I was really only planning on asking you," he begins in response to Gresa's first question. "I just need a couple of friends for Sorrel so she doesn't get lonely. As far as where I'm intending to go, eventually I do want to be well off the beaten path, but I imagine we can just start by heading to a forest near here and seeing what we can find." He pauses for a moment before continuing, "I had originally planned to try to find an unpopulated island to explore, paying my way there by working on a boat, but Sorrel isn't exactly a fan of H20," purposefully using a term for water that he thinks the Treecko will be less familiar with.

Sorrel was in her own world when Marcus reached out for her. She did not notice the hand at all and just stood there as if she is freezed or a lifeless statue. "I have heard that a lot but most of them solve that by befriending or capturing some wild Pokemon. Either way, I am fine spending the day outside today. Maybe I can decide on traveling with you or not after our trial in the wild." She took a peek at her Natu, who was still consuming the food at the moment. She gave her a soft rub on the head before turning back to Marcus.
"My Natu eats slow so, it's best you find something else to do now. Maybe some advance planning? Oh hey, I don't see you and your Treecko eating, might as well do that now that you have a chance." She waved at the Treecko, who was still in her own world, and then she waved closer to her big eyes until she snapped back into reality. "Sor...rel, right? You hungry? Want to eat something?" The Treecko nodded to the question, but merely looked back at Marcus for now. Either she expected a "yes" from her owner before doing so or she was waiting for food to be passed up to her.
"I am quite surprised you pick a partner that limit the places you can explore. Are your three choices really that bad? There are some islands out there by the north of here. You would be on your way there if you have a different partner, maybe really punching some Sharpedo by the end of the month." The girl turned back to you when she realized the Treecko wouldn't move.

"Food sounds like a good idea actually, I'll be right back," Marcus says before walking over to one of the serving tables. He grabs a meat and vegetable skewer for himself, along with a fruity foreign drink, and then lets Sorrel pick whatever she wants. "Go ahead and grab something you like," he says to her with a smile.
That done, he returns to Gresa, to answer the question she had asked. "All of my starter choices were really good. The other two were an Aipom and a Mudbray. I chose Sorrel because I felt like she could most use my help." He stands silently for a moment, taking a sip of his drink, then continues, "Anyway yeah, a trial run today sounds like a good idea."

11:41AM, Day 1, January 1090
Sorrel happily followed Marcus to the food table, climbing up to his shoulder from the extended hand before her owner turned and walked. The buffet table was still filled with a lot of people and Pokemon. Many of them were having fun sharing food with their own Pokemon. Love was in the air. What did pull Marcu's attention more than others was a group of trainers chatting by the table. Marcus has known that some of his fellow graduate friends were closer to each other. There were some cliques and stuff, even though he was not in any of them. Marcus was the type of guy that was friend with everyone but not best friend with anyone. The group mostly talked about their plan to go east to the paradise known as El Giubilo. It was hard to make up every word they said but Marcus definitely heard something about the city being wonderful for vacation, which it is - Marcus has heard of El Giubilo a couple time as the city that single-handedly carrying the tourism of Varius today - and they were thinking about how to get there, by foot or by train. There were some mention of islands to go from there but Marcus did not stay for a long time on the table to hear everything. He was there to pick up the food, not eavesdropping.
Sorrel obliged her master's order of picking anything she liked. Though her trip on the table was far more eventful than Marcus'. While Marcus has it easy since he could just grab anything he wanted by the side of the table, Sorrel was on the table and so were everyone's Pokemon. The young Treecko has to put all her training into use there, carefully avoiding the Pokemon and the plates of food just to reach the one she wanted to grab. The middle part of the table was especially chaotic, with a few Pokemon having a feast over there and they were all eating like savages, lots of limbs movement and shards of food flying all over the air. Sorrel was calm though, she analyzed the situation, found a path between them and just ran acrossed it as fast as possible, jumping over if necessary. Of all the foods on the table, the Treecko has her heart set on the salad and the various berries-made dishes. However, with her limited hand space she could not carry as much as she wanted. She thought of just eating some by the table but she then looked back at Marcus who did not eat, so she did not eat too. She just grabbed as much as she could before returning to his owner. The food in her hands made climbing hard to do so she settled just following Marcus by his legs. Sorrel was cool with the drinks on the table, so at least Marcus knew that she was fine with the that amount of water around her.
With foods in hand, the duo went back to Gresa. "If you ask me, I would bet on you picking the Aipom. Either way, I need to go back to my room and finishing my packing. As you obviously know, no packing is done last night. Let's meet at the gate 30 minutes later, okay? You will need time to eat." Rhetorical, Gresa simply jumped down from the stage and grabbed the half-eaten food away from the Natu, who protested ferociously at its owner. "You eat too slow, so just eat along the way." Righto, it can do just that. She flew up and hovered around Gresa's shoulder for now. "Meet you there." She said with a smile before turning back and taking her leave. That left Marcus with 30 minutes to do whatever he wanted.

Marcus wasn't one to stand around alone in the dining hall. However, he also wasn't one to wait awkwardly at the gate for half an hour with nothing to do. Initially, he simply left the building and struck out in a random direction, walking into campus. Basically just to look like he had something he was doing. Eventually though, he did get an idea, and so he adjusted his course to head for the Virizion library.
Once there, he was disappointed to discover that he would have to leave Sorrel outside to eat. For a moment he considered trying to sneak her in, but it seemed like too much of a hassle, so he said, "You're going to have to finish eating out here. Once you're done, come find me inside." Once he entered the library, he searched through the shelves for an atlas of the region. He was hoping to get some information on the islands those other students had been talking about at the social. He might not be going there immediately, but he still intended to eventually. This was probably as good a time as any to look them up.
Afterward, with roughly ten minutes before he's supposed to meet Gresa, he walks to the gate.

And so, Marcus headed to the library, eating on his way there. Sorrel waited and waited like the good girl she was and immediately bite into the food as soon as she saw Marcus was eating too. Eating on the run was a new thing to her. In the ranch, she always ate with her friends, together in a round table kind of deal, except the round table was not really a human-made table but table of Mother Earth...so, ground. Between having to keep her food balance and well between her hands and chest, eating, and keeping up with her owner, the young Treecko was too busy multitasking to eat at a fair pace.
After a few minutes of walking, they reached the door of the library and the only issue Marcus has was that Sorrel has not done eating and the no food sign was right by the library door. After taking few seconds of his limited time for some quick thinking, Sorrel asked Sorrel to stay and eat outside. Sorrel cried happily before sitting down on the ground and laying the food she has all over the floor. She sent Marcus off with a charming smile before taking a bite on the food. Finally, she could have her lunch.
In complete constract of Sorrel calmly enjoying her lunch by soft grass, Marcus was having his intense thriller moment in the library. The fifteen minutes could be filmed into something like National Treasure where the protagonist has to find a clue fast from a library, coupled with intense soundtrack and quick cuts all over the place. Marcus rushed past the librarian without saying a word. The librarian was about to say hi and the young man just blitz passed the reception desk. Marcus was not a frequent library user but as a Virizion student over the years, he knew enough about this particular library. Or at least he knew about the section his targets would be in, thanked to his frequent reading of books of this kind. The geography section was likely his best shot with one attempt and it was closer to the entrance than culture and world knowledge so geography it is! Geography was 320 so Marcus blitzed through the beginning shelves without a care. No running was allowed in the library but Marcus did not need to run to achieve fast speed -- he was a very good speed walker.
100...150...200...getting close...250...310...here! Marcus turned to his right and entered in between the bookshelves. Now came the tough part, scanning for the right book. Marcus found a surprisingly amount of fancy book titles among them. Instead of giving this kind of books their non-fiction, factual-based names like "Islands of Varius", many publishers went fancy with names like "The Raging Fire", "The Land Under The Wind", "The Womb of Mother Nature", like come on, how could one find what he want easily with these kind of names? After a while, he decided to just try his luck and took out whatever title he found to be island-related. Apparently, luck was with him. First pull and he was on the track. "The Sunken" turned out to be a book about one particular island there. Black Reef, sunken pirate boat, okay. Moving on, no time to read on the details. The next few books were all duds. They all talked about islands not north of the Varius mainland and some of them were not even about islands. Then, he found another one. Jackpot! This was about the various resort islands, might not the best place for exploration but they were better than nothing. Looking for the names, Marcus saw 'Bodega Rock'...and a lot of pages about that...'Little Madeira Hammock Towhead'...'Mokupala'...okay, that's all. Looking at the time, he has a few more chances before he has to go. Duds, duds, duds, Payabiru. Alright, out of time, it's 12:39PM already.
Rushing back to the entrance, Marcus found Sorrel on top of the reception desk, talking to the librarian. The small Pokemon was more than happy to see Marcus once again. It sprinted to the edge of the table and jumped toward Marcus. A long jump, but she was as capable as Marcus in athletic ability. She stuck herself around the waist of Marcus and easily climbed herself up to his shoulder. "Oh hey, it's yours. Good. She is smart. She knows the door is transparent and she just climb up on it and call for my help once she realizes she can't push herself in." The librarian looks glad that the Pokemon has found her owner and does not bother Marcus anymore than that.

Marcus is pleased to find Sorrel at the entrance, though he had expected her to be able to find him in the library on her own. "Alright Sorrel," he says with a smile, "Time for us to get going."
Conscious of his lack of time, Marcus makes his way quickly to the designated meeting place, finding Gresa waiting for him. "You packed quickly," he says. "Ready to go?"

12:13PM, Day 1, January 1090
Sorrel enjoyed her position at Marcus' shoulder and stayed there throughout their way to the entrance. Aside from looking around on occasion, the Treecko did not do much else in the time being. The path to the school gate was quiet for the most time but Marcus did see another group of his fellow graduates just ahead of him on their way out. This was perhaps the last time they would be stepping out of the college gate for some time to come. Following the group out of the gate, Marcus did see Gresa waiting just besides the gate.
Like Sorrel, the Natu rested above the girl's shoulder. The girl was not much different from just now aside from the addition of a backpack, which was surprisingly thin of one. Compared to Marcus', which looked like he could be ready for a mountain trek and a week or two in the wild, the girl's backpack seemed almost empty. "I don't have a lot to pack." The girl replied. "I am ready but, where to?"

"Well, I'm not really sure," Marcus says, looking out away from the college. He was finally free to go off and explore! This was going to be amazing! "As I said before, my plans have changed slightly. But I'm sure we can think of somewhere to go!" he says with a smile. "Let's just start off and see where we end up!"

1:15PM, Day 1, January 1090
Marcus and Gresa headed for the west entrance of Portwich right away. It was lunch time so the street was crowded than usual in this Monday noon. There were some workers around the street but not as much as the swarm of children who were done with their school. The first day was shorter than usual and all the children looked like they enjoyed meeting their friends once again. So much that they decided to spent the after-school together. Some of them spotted the Natu and Sorrel above the shoulders of the two trainers and stared at them with gaze of admiration. Aside from those occasional long stare, the duo did not see anything interesting on their way out.
The western outskirt of Portwich was an neverending stream of green - or of boredom, for Marcus - and the surrounding grew quieter the further the duo were from the west gate. The straight paved road was quiet and lifeless for a while. Marcus knew he has to go a bit further from the edge of town to get a good reading on the terrain and hopefully found something special over the plain that was just...plain, pun intended. Gresa followed quietly. The girl was always quiet in class and the later hangout under the influence of alcohol was the most talkactive hours Marcus has ever seen on the girl. Though, he did not know the girl very much, so that observation might not hold true.
After about 20 minutes of walk, the duo did not see many people on the road. Aside from a few lone backpackers once in a while, the most significant sight was a Tauros carriage with a lot of boxes. Marcus started to go into work after that, going off the road into the wild and checking on all the signs he could find around the place. Gresa, quite confident in Marcus' ability, did not participate in the activity. She merely scanned around the empty grassland as she waited, talking to her Natu once in a while.
An half hour of investigation later, Marcus has come to the sad conclusion that the plain, boring green patch could be there for a very long stretch. Marcus' survey has also come with some extra information. Judging by a blackened area, there could be a Fire type of an Electric type in this habitat, likely the predator. Or maybe a Pokemon battle has happened around here. That was undetermined. What he was 100% positive so far were two species: Nidoran, based on some of the feces and random, untracable footprints around the ground, and Budew, or even Roselia, based on the petals he found on the ground and "the smell" around. Grass Pokemon left pollen as they moved around but only the expert, or someone with some kind of Grass affinity, could "smell" them in the air. Marcus was far from able to identify every species, but this one he was quite sure, as he rememebered this blindfold smell test in one of his classes. Pokemon academy can be weird sometimes.
"I don't think we are going to find something else than plains today. Maybe a river if we are lucky and go far enough. Portwich is built to be very safe from wild Pokemon as it is the first destination of every visiting tourist and is a planned-and-built city, like the capital. Also, there is a chance that it will rain...and I don't have a tent so, maybe we should start searching for Pokemon in the nearby area? I don't mind going a little further if you think we can find more Pokemon there." Marcus has all the time to think about the plan but Gresa was true on one thing. Raining, it could happen. He did check the sky and it was cloudy at the moment and some of the clouds were of the darker shades.

Marcus is surprised by Gresa's plan. He hadn't even considered going back to the school. This was the start of their adventure! There was no time to turn back! And he tells her such, saying, "Oh...I hadn't expected to return. I have a tent that you can use; I'm fine with just my sleeping bag under a tree. But if you're planning to head back to the school, we should probably just part ways." The social failure stung him a bit inside, but this was not something he wanted to compromise on. He'd waited too long already.
OOC: Sorry for the lack of response! I had exams, and am generally just indecisive. I beg your forgiveness /kneel

[Let's see, I think Guile is mostly like the roll, roll it in the roll thread.]

Gresa has the most expressive face thus far after the verbal bomb was dropped right on her laps by Marcus. The girl blinked a few times at first, unsure of how to respond. Her Pokemon, of course, did not necessarily get the situation. The bird was just chirping away at the sight and had its own fun by the shoulder of Gresa. "I thought our agreement is to have an one-day test run or something..." Gresa looked at the sky, and then the surrounding once again, looked like she was really contemplating the whole deal. After blowing out some air, literally, she spoke again. "Alright, I trust you can handle everything out there, and I am sure we can catch more Pokemon out there. Maybe this is indeed a good move...so, let's do it." Inside the girl's voice, you could sense that ever slight hint of skepticism, but she seemed fine following you deeper in the wild for now.
That left Marcus with a decision to make. If he wanted to find something more than a neverending stream of plain, then going deeper into the area was obviously the way to go. The only question was...which way? Assuming that he would be continuing with the idea of ignoring the water by the north and start to head deeper into this patch of green on the southwest of the city, he has to decide whether to go all west, all south or southwest. Different direction might lead him to a slightly different places after they have reached the end of the plain. Of course, continue to track things around him would help him to get a lead on that goal. Marcus was well-aware that they would eventually stumble into wild territory soon enough and wild Pokemon and other miscellaneous danger would be a thing. Speaking of tracking, the Treecko looked like she wanted to help Marcus too, if he would have her assist!
