I was easy for Jamie to win the race having a leg up on her competition. As the town grew larger before then, the excitement in Orin did the same. It wasn't the norm for him to travel and he was still getting used to his reality. 'I wonder if people swim in that water.'
"I'm going to get a better lay of the land, maybe there's a bulletin board, or a town map or something. I want to find a mart and check out their wears. You mentioned lunch before; that sounds like a pretty good idea too."
Bandit perked up at the mention of food, breaking out of his lackadaisical state.
"Try to stay close Bandit, and stay out of trouble, remember, these people don't know you like they do back home."
Bandit pouted at the verbal leash that was put upon him, but didn't instantly lash out and break things, though he did consider procuring said lunch- by any means necessary.
Orin attempts to locate a simple source of further information about the town.

Jamie only slowed down a little bit once she had entered the town, waving at the guard as she runs by and calling back to Orin. "I'm gonna drop by the Pokecenter to start, they'll probably have any info for trainers and my team could use some care. We'll meet up there in a bit?"

Skylar didn't really take part in the race, more so because he didn't feel like running all the way to the town despite it being a short distance away. By the time he got to the entrance of the town, he heard mention of the group breaking off to go do stuff before lunch.
"Sure, I'm just gonna walk around a bit and try and get Scuttle used to people." He said, recalling his turtle before pulling out the bug. On his shoulder, Scuttle merely shook a bit as she firmly glued herself to his shoulder. As Sklyar broke off from the group, his mind was on one thing and one thing only, the river. While it was true that he was gonna walk around, he never said _where_ he was gonna walk too. After making sure he was away from the group, Skylar got close to the water's edge and began to poke around, seeing if he could find anything.

The mart was stocked with basic cosumables, and useables that a trainer could want, but as a small town market, nothing more then 1000$ worth at once was there. infomantisThe nurse smiles, taking the pokeballs, and slotting them into the machines. "Sorry dear, you missed lunch! Dinner will be in about three hours from now, though, so you needn't wait too long!" She'd say brightly. "As for interesting things to do, an ambitious trainer like you is usually interested in the gym! They are open to single, double, and co-operative battles!"

Orin was hoping for a bit more for the mushrooms, and believed that they did have a higher value than wan was being offered. He wanted to get more in the trade, but at the same time didn't wish to offend. "I've seen these types of mushrooms sell for a lot more and I still want to leave you some fair room for profit. Would you agree to a one for one trade?"

The items about the shop were fascinating to look at, as he browsed he engaged with the shopkeep. "My friends and I are new in town, we just set off on our journey; we're newly matriculated students form the school in Startertown. We're off to get stronger, learn about the world and the pokemon that inhabit it, and maybe do some good along the way."
Orin truly hoped he could leave the places he traveled to better off when he could, trying to have a positive impact. "Do you mind me asking, what should we know about Beginner Springs? Any way for a group of trainers to be of service?"2d6

"Nice! Can't wait to tell the other guys about this. If you see a kid with a Turtwig or a guy with a Pawniard, tell them I'll be back in an hour or so, ok?" With Spike still looking around at the new town with interest on her shoulder, she runs out towards the gym to check out what kind of fights she'll be expecting later on.

I don't got that much need. Like I said, if I wanted Mushrooms, I could just head outside for a bit, or go find a paras." infomantisThe nurse would give an okay sign. The gym was an enclosed building without windows, the front entrance splitting off into a changing room: free swimsuit rentals avalable. Clearly, there was some danger of getting wet here.

Skylar took his shoes off, and dipped his feet into the water as let out Coatli. He simply wanted to relax for a bit before doing the gym challenge, which is likely what the group wanted to do. While Coatli simply splashed around in the water, Scuttle simply kept watch from his shoulder. He easily lost track of time, simply content on watching the river and the clouds go by. It took the ringing of his dex to snap him out of his haze, as the young man hastily recalled Coatli, put on his shoes and ran to the Pokemon center.

Jamie looks around the entrance for a little, then turns to leave, sighing. She guessed that there was some kind of water theme going on when she had seen the gym on the river from the outside, and the changing rooms only really confirmed it. While her bugs were great, she'd probably need to train a bit before they could take home the victory, and a bit of time for planning couldn't hurt either. Looking at the clock on her Pokedex, she saw she still had a bit of time before meeting back up with the gang, may as well take some time to wander around town to see if there's anything interesting running around.

If he didn't otherwise talk to her immediately, she'd bring up that his friend has mentioned him, otherwise bringing it up shortly after Tazukiethe shopkeep would take the mushrooms, putting them in a small plastic bag, and setting a fresh, bright red and white pokeball on the countertop for the trainer. It looked freshly polished! He would think a bit. "Well, there's been some odd sounds coming from the local sandpit in the evening. That's when a lot of the trainers from the gym come out to buy dinner, or pick up groceries on the way home, however, so I never have time to look!" infomantisJamie would eventuially stumble across an older man, who was contently fishing with a very nice-looking rod, the springs babbling in the usual pleasent tone of calm water.

As he turns to go, he adds, "my name's Orin by the way."
Orin makes his way to the PokeCenter, looking at the town around him.

Jamie made her way over towards the fisherman and sat down on the bank near where he was, looking into the brook for any fish. It had been a while since the last time her dad had gone fishing with her, and would almost be enough to make her miss him a bit... except that she had just left home that morning, and he had left home a few weeks earlier to fish at sea. Turning her attention back to the present, she comments, "Catch anything good today, mister?"

infomantisThe old man would lift his head slightly, and giving a tired smile. "Aye lassie. The fish are biting as well as ever." He'd say, struggling a little, and pulling a magikarp from the water, and then letting it go back into the brook. "I just got this here new rod, and it's been doing wonders! You youngsters fish anymore nowadays?" He'd ask a twinkling smile on his face as he casted his line out again. The water had the occasional Magikarp, many of which seemed to be going for the mountain, and the sight of oter possible pokemon definately avalable. The old man himself had a few pokeballs on his hip, though they all looked rather old.

"Oh, hey Orin! They're at the center, other than Spike here obviously." Spike wiggles at hearing her name, turning a small circle on Jamie's shoulder. "But yea," Jamie says, turning back to the fisherman, "I fish sometimes with my dad, he's really good at it! Haven't gone in a bit, but I guess I could always try netting a fish if I had to..." Jamie trails off, contemplating if her net's really large enough for most fish.
