So I am doing a Roughneck / Hex Maniac with my build, and I wanted to know how much freedom I had with fluffing the manner in which I developed my Hex Maniac powers? Or if there is a required fluff for Occult Education and/or Hex Maniac?
Relatedly, how much freedom do we have to add to the setting on a macro-scale? If there isn't a required pre-set fluff, I was hoping to add a desert region somehwere on the continent with a deceased egypt-like civilization; one that my character has a marked interest in, to the point of ordering a pokemon local to that region (Trapinch), dabbling in some of the Heiroglyphs found in an old book from the school library (Occult Education), and even attempting to manifest some hexes (Hex Maniac).

I updated Orin with some fluff
Orin - Fashionista/SurvivalistFather, Charles: Maintenance Man Mother, Alina: Drug Store Clerk Brother, Rory: Age 22 Starter Pokemon- Tyranitar named Tremor Brother, Coji: Age 18 Sister, Ina: Age 18 Orin: Age 15 Orin was raised in a family where he was the youngest of four children. He was fortunate to have both his parents; and what his family lacked in money they made up for in warmth of spirit. It was a loving household not bereft of typical family squabbles, and being the youngest afforded him mostly hand me downs (having two older brothers). His sister showed him the way around a sewing machine and other techniques like hemming and darning. Despite the light hearted teasing from his brothers, Orin enjoyed transforming his second hand clothing into something new(ish); something he could call all his own.
On the rare occasion he was gifted something new it was often essential like underwear, or a small trinket like a comic book. Not having a lavish income, the children turned to entertaining themselves, most of the time outdoors. Orin’s eldest brother began leading scouting expeditions for the younger neighborhood children like Orin. These camping trips, fishing trips and the like, thrilled Orin, not only were they exciting, but he could spend more time with Rory. It was an opportunity to see his brother take charge; to admire him, and learn some skills along the way. When his parents informed him he would be attending the academy, Orin was shocked to put it mildly. For the most part he attended his basic education classes, staying close to his family to help around the house. It was a combination of saving from his parents and a new scholarship he had been awarded. What Orin didn’t know was the “scholarship” was actually prize money Rory had won in pokemon tournaments. Not expecting to ever have such an opportunity, Orin was excited to see new places, learn new things, and get a pokemon of his very own.

stygianrose The terrain is fairly well set, and, while there are some sandy regions, they are mostly extensions of beachways, and not deserts. Furthermore, precursor civs are complicated, and already plot-written, for the most part. (As an asside, please have a character finished and submitted by tomorrow, as I am rolling to see who gets in on the tenth when I wake up.) Tazukie Looks good! If you make it in, we can talk more about that brother, assuming your interest was having him out and adventuring.

infomantisTazukiesandsofazorinRNG has picked you! Lucky winners, Welcome to the world of Devolution, where your hopes in humanity will eventually devolve into simply trying to finish your journey, and the names of the towns and citys will degrade your seriousness to that of mild hilarity.
