You awaken just outside the Morlochta Fire Station. Perhaps you were trying to get in the heavily fortified building, when you collapsed from exhaustion, or maybe you fell off when you tried to snag something shiny. Whatever the case, you are disoriented, and apparently alone on this street. If you can call it a street at this point; it’s clearly undrivable. Maybe a herd of rhyhorn came by, stomping along… North of the Fire Station is a store called “Quality Imports”, and despite the dark condition, you can clearly see their shelves are still well-stocked! There is a figure shuffling around in the gloom, though… Above that store is a building called “Gerald’s Game Corner”, but you can’t see much of it from this angle. Across the road are two more stores; “Ajax Quality Mining” and “Ross and Son’s”. You can’t tell much about either from this distance, but they both look intact. Further north is what appears to be a motel, in rather obvious disrepair. It doesn’t look like anyone still lives there, what with the smashed-in windows and obvious neglect. Far to the north, you can see Morlochta Central, easily dwarfing the other buildings in the area. It almost looks like the building still has power… But back to the surrounding area, you don’t really see any supplies in the rubble, to your disappointment. While there don’t appear to be any zombies out and about, you get the feeling it would be best to avoid staying out in the open. A meal would be nice too, but you and your Pokemon can all last a while at your current Belly, about half-full each. You are free to search for supplies anywhere, take a closer look at any structures or items, or any other basic actions you can think of. Searching for supplies, you would consult Perception or the relevant stat for the type of item you’re looking for. To find Medical Scrap would be Perception or Medicine Education, for example. You can go just about anywhere, within reason. Direct any questions to the OOC thread, Skype chat, or even a Spoiler at the bottom of your post, as you see fit, and sorry it’s taken so long to get this far. :)

Standing up and dusting herself off, Tara takes a moment to gather her surroundings. Hm, not much to go off of. Taking one of the pokeballs from her vest she opens it releasing the pokemon from within. A small white candle shaped creature came forth. "Hey Garnet, want to do me a favor?" she asks in a warm voice with a smile just as sweet. The Litwick looked around the area and back to its trainer with a tilted head for a moment before nodding to hear out her request. "I want to check out that building and the store above it. But something looks to be in there. So I need some recon, think you can do it with me?" Getting a nod from Garnet, she set off watching out for anything out of the ordinary. Being mindful of the road's condition so not to not step wrong. Roll Results: Tara Perception: 16 Garnet Perception: 12

Expertly avoiding the many potholes and pitfalls pocketing the path, you proceed (promptly) to Quality Imports. Along the way, neither you or Garnet see anything out of the ordinary. Or… really, anything at all. If it wasn’t for the zombie you both found in the store, Morlochta could have been a ghost town… If only you were so lucky. From this angle (just outside the store) you can clearly see that there is but one zombie inside, and not an especially impressive one, either. It looks like the shop itself is pretty intact, though. Surprisingly, actually… there’s even a light on! The surrounding area looks just as desolate as it did before, and the zombie inside is oblivious to your presence, not even facing the door. If you’d like, roll Stealth when you enter, for the zombie to not notice you.

Taking her time to look into the window, she made a thoughtful face. At least it seemed to be a safe bet that they could possibly get inside easy enough. Looking to the ghost she made a motion with her hand for it to go ahead. Following her orders the Litwick phased through the wall to get a better angle. Make sure that the door was able to be opened, and to keep and eye on the zombie. Tara placed her hand on the door, though she did glance around to see if there was an easy way up to the gambling store. Garnet passed through the wall without issue, the zombie remaining oblivious to her presence. However, when it moved over to the door, the zombie turned to face the little ghost. Whether it smelled the burning candle-pokemon, or the light reflected just so… it saw the Litwick. It hadn’t decided to attack quite yet, and had yet to notice you, though.
Sneaking a glance at the adjacent store, you quickly spot an entrance. On the second floor is an open window, although the room looks dark. You cannot see anything else from this angle.
The door is not locked, but the zombie will almost certainly notice your entrance now. Garnet is awaiting your instruction.

Tara bit her lip some seeing that the Zombie took notice of her pokemon in the store now. It would be best to deal with it before it turned aggressive. She mouthed to her Litwick "Garnet. Take care of it, try a Flame Burst," watching the zombie closely. Turning her attention back to the thing it was inside with. The Litwick prepared itself before focusing and making an attack. Fire coming forth at the figure inside the store. Using move Flame Burst. The undead vermin barely has time to react before the flames engulf it, and evidently the creature was dry or something, because within no time at all it was just a charred husk. Admiring her handiwork, Garnet dances around in celebration.
Your highly-trained eyes did notice an odd gleam as the flame burst passed by… it looked almost like there was a second fire in the store… for just a few seconds. No sooner had you seen it, than it disappeared again…
There are no other zombies in the store, and the door is easily openable. It doesn't appear that anyone or anything noticed the fight, either… and the zombie is definitely dead again.

A breath of relief left Tara at how quick the problem was dealt with. Easing the door open slowly before entering. A bit confused at the gleam, she could've sworn that she saw. "Good work Garnet!" Tara told the Litwick with a smile, giving the ghost pokemon a gentle highfive. "Now... Let's get a better look at the place," she states looking around her slowly. She didn't know exactly what she'd find in the store front. Either way, the building seemed in good shape from the outside. Maybe it could be fortified for a short while? Roll Results

Looking over the store structurally, the large windows in the front might be an issue for fortification… And besides crashing through a window, the only way in or out for you would be the small door in the back, or the door in front. Maybe the back of the store would be its saving grace, but it wouldn’t be good to get your hopes up. At least there should be something valuable inside?
As you and Garnet peruse the inventory, you see that same gleam, although much less intense, as Garnet floats by a serious-looking display case. Investigating it, you recognize the item as a Type Booster! Probably a Fire-Type Booster, if its behaviour was any indication. You don’t see any way to open the case, though, and just smashing the display would make a lot of noise.
The rest of their inventory was rather unimpressive; they might have called themselves “Quality Imports”, but beyond the Booster, one Potion (not even a high-tier one, but a basic!) and a childish-looking slingshot, there’s nothing but junk! Stealing a glance outside, you can’t see anything suspicious or undead on the street.

"Ehhh, I was hoping for something better than this to be honest," Tara contemplated before taking the one potion and slingshot. But there was a glimmer of hope, that she could come back later and get scrap from here. "We'll have to come back for this later," she notes to Garnet pointing at the Booster. "I guess maybe take a short breather while we're here," she added before finding a secluded back corner. Once situated she opens up her backpack to reorganize and to maybe finagle something together. "Hmmm, if we take this and this...it could make for a distraction," she mused while working to make a couple of things with what she had scavenged before. Finally finished she stands up and approaches the back door to the store. "I wonder if it'll lead us to a way to get up to that gambling place," she thinks looking to her pokemon. "Garnet, can you be a dear and be ready to back me up?" she asks with a smile. Slowly pushing the door to open it. Peeking out through the crack. Rolls+Mechanics

With Garnet keeping watch, there was nothing to distract you from your tinkering. You make the items without any issue.
The only thing of note in the back room is the abundance of heavy crates. A cursory check of some shows that there aren't many useful items… This store appears to have catered more to tourists than trainers, unfortunately. As useless as their quality junk is, the building itself is even more so, with the only exits from this room being the way you entered and a thin-looking supply door.
Said door looks to be ajar, and you cannot hear anything from the alley between this building and the next.
A more thorough search of the room does, however, net you something equally useful to tourists and post-apocalyptic survivors; a few (3) bottles of (relatively) Fresh Water! The bottles don’t even look to be opened, yet!

"Okay, this is actually a lot worse than I expected," she admits as she digs through the crates. Sighing to herself trying to find something useful. "Ah at least we found some stuff here, huh?" she asks the Pokemon with a smile. Noting the door slightly ajar she furrowed her brow. Could that be how the zombie got inside the store? She approached it, opening it further to peer outside. Maybe there were stairs leading up to the second floor? After all it was a gambling place. There could be more snacks. "C'mon Garnet, let's get to looking around."
Having the ghost pokemon come to float beside her side in case something was waiting on the other side. New slingshot ready to grab from her pocket if need be. To attack or cause a distraction would soon to be seen. Looking for stairs or convenient way to get to the gambling place upstairs.

Garnet dances around in response to your question, then quickly hurries along at your command. The alley is pleasantly zombie-free, although the same can’t be said for random junk. To someone with a trained eye, there’s even plenty of useable scrap close at hand. Maybe some of it would even prove useful? At any rate, you’re in no rush, and it would be easy enough to pick up some of the more useful junk. Roll 1d10, and gain 20 times times the amount as Scrap. Looking past all the junk, the alley reaches a dead end just a little further on, and there are no doors into the adjacent building. There are windows, though, and a good number of them are either broken or open. At least a few of them are large enough for you to fit through, although peeking through them, of the three on the ground floor, the first two open into the front entrance and all the zombies therein. The third looks to be a back room, with a stairway going upstairs and a door leading into the front. Outside the alley, you don’t see much of interest. Some crummy-looking motel, or something, across the road, but that’s it.

She'd never pass up the opportunity to get supplies, even if not immediately useful. Part of survival was being able to adapt and learn how to make the best of what you could find. Being mindful of where she stepped not wanting to make noise as she saw what awaited them in the front of the building. Thinking silently she motioned for the Litwick to follow her. Moving to the last window that she could fit through. Peering in, it seemed more safe than the first two windows at least. She wanted to check out this before moving on. If there was a chance at getting a better leg up on surviving she would take it if she could. Easing through the broken glass, she'd look through the dark area. "Gimme a lil' more light please?" she asks Garnet in a hushed voice. Roll Results: Scrap Acquired: 7*20 = 140 scrap worth Tara's Stealth/Perception: 17/21 Garnet's Stealth/Perception: 6/13

Entering utterly silently through the broken window, not much stands out about this room… In fact, although it’s employee only, there isn’t much to warrant it. That said, there’s a reassuringly solid door between you and the adjoining, zombie-filled room. You can spot four of them, around the other room. They appear to be calm enough, right now, and don’t notice you.
As far as the room itself goes, there’s the aforementioned door, and another door with a plaque reading “Manager’s Office”. This door is unlocked, and you cannot hear anything from that direction.
Rooting around quietly in the room, you manage to scrounge up two intact candy bars, and more chips and tokens than you could hope to collect. Not that those are particularly useful… Especially now that you could just take the prizes they would have been traded for! Too bad it looks like they’ve either been stolen, or were stored elsewhere...

Once inside, Tara let a breath leave her lips slowly. Things were going fairly well. Pocketing her findings. Surely she could at least use the chips for something, before grabbing a handful or two. There were candy bars, so she was willing to scrounge a bit more. Thinking on what would be the best course of action, she moves to the door that was open. Leaning against the door, she used her weight to slowly close it. Trying her best not to cause too much noise to result from closing it. Careful now, easy does it.Once the door was closed she let out a sigh of relief. "Good," she whispered to herself. Looking to Garnet, she gives a reassuring smile. Tara nodded towards the Manager's door. Approaching it since she hadn't heard anything. Gripping the handle she turns it slowly before beginning to open it ready to either attack or jump back depending on if there was something or one inside. If allowed, would like to roll for a five minute Pickup roll. Pickup Result: 8 "You find berries!"

None of the zombies the next room over even respond to the door closing, and you carry on without any issues. While there doesn’t appear to be anything else of value in this room, the door to the Manager’s is unlocked. Exercising extreme caution, you open the door, and to your relief, find nothing waiting to jump out. After all, a fight might draw in the zombies in the next room! You quietly make your way up to their office to see what they might have tucked away there, Garnet in tow.
Up in the office, the first thing that stands out is the glaringly white mini-refrigerator, if only because the light from a window is reflecting off of it. You don’t see any traps or locks on it, and it doesn’t look to contain anything valuable… While it looks intact, it’s impossible to determine if it’s still refrigerating from here.
Other features of note include a rather chintzy desk, which takes up most of the room and looks designed to make the deceased manager feel more important. Perhaps he had aspirations to become a casino manager, or something, but that’s not really important, is it? Decorating this desk is a mountain of papers, none of which look immediately helpful. There are a few photos decorating the desk, as well, but nothing else noteworthy (not that those were…) on it. There are a few drawers, you note, but it’s probably office supplies or something equally useless.
The window in this room overlooks the alley opposite the one you entered from, and by your estimate, you should be above the arcade portion of the building. There are no entrances or exits from this room, except for the door you entered, and if you’re feeling adventurous, the window.
Please roll Perception. In addition to any other rolls, of course.

Tara felt a wave of relaxation temporarily wash over herself when there was no one inside to fight her undead or otherwise. Stepping inside she closed the door behind her locking it so that she couldn't get surprised from the outside. Doing a quick rummage of the desk she frowns at the more or less useless items. She kinda figured, but she couldn't help but hope for some luck. Who could blame her? Turning her attention to the fridge she approaches it and braces her foot against the side of the door. Before pushing it open. After all if there was anything rotten inside she didn't want to get a nose full of mildew or mold. Stepping back to glance inside, if it was filled with expired and probably what could be considered an 'experiment' she'd turn her attention to the rest of the room. Looking for perhaps a safe or any other items that might stuffed away. After all the office looked pretty clean. Perception Roll for Tara: 18

It takes more force than you expect to open the fridge, though you’re confident that it wasn’t loud. Not that anything could get in without you or Garnet noticing... Inside the fridge, you see, perhaps to your surprise, but probably to your joy, several berries! They don’t look to be in bad condition, either; the owner had probably stored them in there pretty recently… and then never got around to retrieving them. Setting your sights on the rest of the room, you are interrupted by a distant rumbling in the ground, almost like a small earthquake. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like a danger to the building, and with how faint it was, you’re almost surprised you managed to detect it! Getting back to the task at hand, you quietly and efficiently scour the room. You find more office supplies, surprise-surprise, and (more surprisingly) even a key that was kicked under the desk before you arrived. There doesn’t appear to be anything else in the room. From the window, both the alley and what you can see of the street appear vacant. You can’t tell if the tremor disturbed any of the undead in the building, but it probably didn’t… For berry Identification, roll General Education or Survival.
Congratulations, you acquired a “Generic Key”. And 50 Pokeyen in general scrap.

The sight of the berries before her, caused the woman's face to brighten up, quickly reaching inside and pulling out the surprise to get a better look at them. "This is great!" she said to the ghost pokemon with bright eyes. Sure Garnet didn't eat berries, but the other members of her team would be quite happy she was sure of it. Turning them in her hands as she tried to place the color and shapes to a name. Slipping them into the backpack she carried with her afterwards. She was slightly concerned by the rumbling, not knowing the cause of it. Putting it at the back of her mind for the time being. "Let's be careful," she whispered to her partner, going to the window to get a better look outside and to see how this would serve as an exit method. Taking a ball and letting out her Skiddo, he could help her get to the roof of the next building maybe allowing a more full circle view around them. Berry Identification Roll (General Edu)
