Jeremiah makes a disgruntled face for being ignored by Ace. Roderick shrugs at the rapier and puts it in his belt loop. The three men depart to a familiar city.
"You did what you had to do, and she did what she had to do. No crying over spilt milk, ya dig?" Jeremiah says one point during the trip.
After a few minutes of flying, you two arrive at Jeremiah's Dragon Palace to receive medical care. For Tully, a few hours have passed and you saw Roderick leave, and Tatsumaki arrive. "I'll take it from here. Good job today." You could comment on how serious her face looks today. Mera tries to approach you with questions, but is immediately tackled by Jeremiah every time. You see a chained Brooklyn enter the main hall with tape around her mouth. In the main hall, across the you, she is sat down on a bench by the Zoroarks.
She gives you a glare for a while, but it is the look of someone that has given up.
For Jace, the Nurse Joy gives you the ok to move about and tells you that you've suffered a minor concussion. It shouldn't stop you but you can enter the hall whenever you're ready.

Jace sat up, which he immediately regretted. He wasn't in pain anymore, the Pokemon Center was nearly magic about that. Rather, the sudden motion made his head spin. Catching himself with one hand he held his head with the other. What had happened?
The brown fluff-ball that was curled up at his feet must have felt the movement because it leaped up suddenly. Against the wishes of the nurses Ace had stayed with Jace the whole time, and when he woke up the eevee promptly pounced on its trainer.
"Ah! Ace!" The force of the tackle sent Jace back onto the bed. After taking a number of overly aggressive kisses Jace sat up again. The beds next to him were empty. Nobody else was hurt thank goodness. Tully and... Marietta. Right. That's what happened to him. Jace didn't want to let this get between them and he would be sure to give her a talk, wherever she was. He got up out of bed, carrying Ace with him.
Stepping out into the hallway the lights were too bright. Squinting against them, Jace could see Brooklyn, tied up on a bench. Across from her sat Tully, who didn't look as bad as Jace felt. Jace sat down next to Tully, setting Ace in his own lap. When he didn't see Marietta, Jace assumed that she was being kept in a location separate from Brooklyn, which only made sense. "How you doing?" He asked, concerned about Tully's physical health.

"Angry. Confused." Tully replies. "Marietta's dead. Moved the wrong way, got her neck under my knife... happened before I knew it."
He sighs. "I ain't too sorry she's gone. Frankly, I'm surprised it took her this long. But I hate how she made me do it - no need to kill. Or to kill so sloppily or to make a permanent enemy."
He thumps a fist against the wall. "'sa friggin' mess an' I dunno what to think."

TrackJace listened to Tully's words, but they sounded so distant. There was a ringing in his head that wouldn't stop. As Tully went on he slowly slumped lower and lower, until he was squeezing Ace between his chest and legs. Ace, for his part, welcomed the pseudo-embrace. Jace couldn't believe what he was hearing. Marietta was dead? How could that be? He had worked it all out, a plan of attack. His plan should have worked. Why didn't his plan work? Why was Marietta dead? He had failed. Although Jace never considered himself above his teammates, he did think of himself as the leader. He was supposed to have the situation under control. He was supposed to have a strategy. He was supposed to get everyone home okay. Jace shook, not violently, but as someone stricken with grief. It hit him all at once, and suddenly he was crying. Was it because Marietta was dead? Or was it because she was dead on his watch? One thing was for certain: He had failed. The air around Jace grew frigid, although he doesn't notice. Instead he takes his arms off of his knees and wraps them around Ace instead. What if this wan't the end? What if he continued to fail? What if Ace was next to die due to his negligence? He couldn't stand the thought; the mere idea of it shook him to his core. Ace, sensing his trainer's grief, pressed himself tight against Jace.

Brooklyn face morphs from confusion to anger at Tully and prepares to lunge at him. She was never chained to anything, just her hands restricted.
A clap sends the three of you out of stupor. "The successful capture of a member from the renegade group and eliminating a spy... It seems I too have underestimated your potential for growth within our community." Tatsumaki from Paradiso smiles out of the hallway. Her white coat still hangs from her shoulders and emerald eyes visible wherever you look. Brooklyn looks at the elite member in terror, as if she came to a dreadful realization. She finally erupts from her seat, charging at Tatsumaki, but the prisoner of war is pushed back into her seat by an unknown force.
Brooklyn screams and thrashes around. Tatsumaki pays no attention to her, "I heard everything from Jeremiah, it seems Marietta was related to this woman. It was my fault that I pushed her to join. She used the Regibot to establish contact with this woman and tell whatever she knew..."
She notices the mood in the room still not lifting, in response she pulls out a rock of odd shape and presents it to Jace. "Right... So I've also been getting things done on my end. Is this the stone you've fought so hard for?" And just like in Professor Spruce's office, she reels it back into her. A warm and cheerful smiles comes out, "Do you remember our deal?"

The Eviolite. A stone that would give Ace the chance he deserved. A stone that could mean the difference between victory or defeat in the Nexus League championship. A stone that he might finally be getting. But at what cost?
He clenched his fists. "I remember," he said shakily. Jace took a deep, calming breath. He remembered. This wasn't just about him anymore. This wasn't even about Tully and Marietta. If what Brooklyn said was true then the fate of the world could be at stake. "We have a lot of work to do."
Jace stood up, with Ace effortlessly leaping off of his lap. He wiped his eyes with his sleeve. He had shed his tears, but there was no time for them now. Now was the time for action. He held out his hand to Tatsumaki. "And don't think that I will bail on you now. We are going to see this through," Although he was talking about Ace, he assumed that Tully would stick with him too. They had come to far to back out now, especially with everything that is at stake.

"You got that right!" Tully interjects. "These guys're lookin' to take over the world, an' I ain't about to let that happen - don't reckon there'd be a place for me in their world 'cept in a pine box."

A karate chop lands on both of your heads, "I appreciate the morale, but that wasn't our deal. I think Jace was asleep during our trip to Hayden City though..." Tatsumaki juggles the stone in her hands. A message ringtone comes out of her phone. She checks it and puts on her coat correctly, followed by having the sniffles.
"The prisoner over here gave you details on their plan? Can you tell Mera all the information you can on their actions? She will relay it to the rest of us and she'll also tell you what the deal was if you can't remember" She puts the stone in Jace's open hand. "I must be going now, I'm taking the prisoner with me as well. Until next time!"
Brooklyn is lifted up as Tatsumaki violently tugs the chain. Still struggling, she manages to untape her mouth. "IT'S HER! SHE LOOKS DIFFERENT, BUT THIS IS THE MONSTER THAT TOOK OUT EVERYONE SEVEN YEARS AGO! THE ONE THAT KILLED MY HUSBAND! DEATH WIND-" Brooklyn pauses mid-sentence, as if she was choking on something.
Tatsumaki looks back, for a split second, you could see a quite morbid expression coming from her face. "Hmmm... I haven't heard that name in years, but I don't like the translation. I preferred Kazeshini. You certainly look more familiar, now come, let us reminisce the old days."
Brooklyn's muzzled screams ring through the halls once more before the doors close behind them.
