"If you are willing to bring the fight to them we will follow. As for 'camps' the only wood cut is the line you were on. And forces of my brothers are sent out to cut further along this line from 'his' base on the beach."

Ember-Shell nods, and those who are healthy enough to move of the ants gather themselves up alongside your party, and all of you skirt the edge of the clearing, heading toward the supposed camp. After a few hours, night begins to fall. Do you want to continue, as you've had your rest earlier, risking any night-time dangers? Or should you set up camp, hoping to start in the morning?

Chell had been enjoying her relaxing time up in the trees, and thus it is with great reluctance that she comes down when called. When Midna had filled her in on what had been talked about and what the plan was, she answered with a blunt "Why?", not understanding why they were going through all this effort over some robots... again. Still, she follows along when the group leaves - as unwilling as she might be, they are the only people she had spoken to in ages, and she didn't feel like staying behind with the robotic ants - though staying on the periphery of the group, hopping from branch to branch up in the trees, sullenly staying quiet and not interacting with the others much (okay, she hasn't much choice in this regard, but still, the idea is the same), keeping her eyes out for any potential trouble. As they were walking, Frank hardly noticed it was getting darker. It was only when Ember-Shell mentioned the option of stopping that Frank realized night had come. He blinked, realizing with a sly smile that these eyes of his functioned fully at night. When no one else spoke up after several long seconds, Frank said, "I'd like to press on."

Content to just follow along for now, Hura had been remarkably silent for most of the trip. Rested as they were (and of course this body needed that too, just another grievance to add to the list...) he didn't feel too inclined to stop, and while his own night vision wasn't quite top-notch, but he had never been one to fear a surprise attack. Another rest would be boring, though, so when Frank states his opinion, Hura adds, "Yup, let's keep at it... But I don't suppose you know how far the next camp is, do ya?" ES notes that it's still at least three hours off. You'd get there in the dead of night.

Midna tries to hide her relief that they actually have a little rest. She lets out a yawn as she tries to take a short cat nap. That was, if the ants didn't clank about too badly.
She sets out for the others and explains where they're going to the hoppity Chell. She shrugs as the other questions her. "Something to do with finding out more about some guardians," she says offhandedly, "Or maybe find some new allies, though Frank seems to want an army... " She shrugs again, "Still, this Masked Man is sure to have something useful squirreled away. People that grab for power tend to try and find more." She pauses as she lets the other digest, "It still seems a waste of time to me."
When the other two agree to head on, Midna finds herself in agreement too. "We're already rested. And finding them unaware in the middle of the night makes our job easier." She gives a wicked grin. Little chance of Midna getting hurt if everyone was asleep. KL4ElJU31d100 for luck 1d100

"This is all absolute nonsense, you all realize." Freya shook her head. She looked no worse for her injuries earlier, and was perched atop a branch, taking in their surroundings with her ears. They were a great deal better than her eyes were, especially once things got dark. So closed the latter before continuing.
"This entire situation. I'm not convinced this isn't merely a fever dream. Each and every one of you could just be products of some foul Black Magic residue lingering in my mind from Cleyra." she scratched the top of her head, as if that would some how get the rest of it . "So in that regard, we've no need to wait. Pressing onward's as good a choice as there will be. Concluding the dream will simply free me from it sooner, as is the way of these sort of things."

You all continue out throughout the night. Despite the blackness, there is constant flashes of light from the lightning overhead. Finally reaching the beach, you all find a large camp. A large cliff seems to be hanging over the camp full of assorted groups of the ants, mostly sleeping. A large wooden shed is in the middle, guarded by more of the stone men. And even more of them patrol the camp. They don't seem like the kind to sleep anyway. Multiple torches keep everything lit. And in the distance, you see what has to be some sort of wooden boat right on the edge of the water being built. Although it's very... boxy. You can't get a really good look because it isn't lit as well, what would be the point with no work being done on it. Maybe it's just unfinished?

"Freya, are you up to do some reconnaissance? Dark as you are, against the night sky, they'll never spot you. See if you can get numbers, so we know what we're getting into. Also, make sure we don't have any surprises waiting for us in that shack, or the boat."

"Sound plan." She nodded, and moved to spread her wings. "The kitten can speak into minds, yes? If she reads mine while I pass over, I can report as I make my passes."
More or less accustomed to it by this point Freya practically vanished into the gloom, her silhouette barely visible as she climbed. She made it a point to keep her distance as she scanned the structure.

There are 4 main groupings of ants seperated and guarded by 3 of the smaller golems each. There are numerous smaller groups of ants, maybe a few each, and the 7 randomly patrolling guards look over those.
The shed up close is... a shed! Nothing else can really be seen. And now in the air you can see the cliff, where a small wooden building has been contructed, and 3 of the larger ones guard this one. Also behind this building are a selection of what look like wooden boxes from this distance. But they seem weird, somehow. You can't quite put your finger on it.
And then you fly over the beach itself, and see a large pile of trees, both ones stripped of leaves ready for chopping, some that haven't been processed, etc. And you now see the boat, and it's in the shape of an H? Odd. You don't really know what that's about.

Midna is glad to finally come to a halt and surveys the shadowed camp from their distant vantage. She can't quite tell but it seemed there were probably more golems than before. Can we fend off even more? We barely managed the 4 before. Well there had to be someway to distract them. . And then she is quipped at by Freya. That was her job! "I'm not a cat, normally," she snaps before correcting herself. Still, getting an idea on their numbers might help get a plan. And getting a peek before Freya got back might help them do a bit more scheming. "Yes. Fine. I can keep tabs on you while you make your sweep. Just try not to let your mind wander. I couldn't help but pry." Midna would like to know a bit more about the bat. She'd been fairly quiet so far. Well...compared to the other two that could speak.
As the bat takes to the air, Midna tries to keep dialed in on the bat. But as she flies further away, Freya's mind slips from her grasp, leaving Midna guessing. Guess this body has some other limitations... She shrugs, and explains to the others, "It seems that the same rules don't quite apply in this world. She's too far away for me to hear her. We'll just have to wait until she gets back."

Freya didn't have any prior knowledge of just how the whole mind reading process worked. She assumed, if nothing else, that there'd be some back and forth, however, and when there was none, she pulled away from her reconnaissance and flew back towards the rest of the group.
"Is there something the matter, Miss Midna? I couldn't hear anything from you, so I thought to return. But maybe that's for the better: I don't think there's too much more to glean right now, anyway."
"Our Masked Man has 3 more of the larger brutes stationed up ahead, guarding a small shed, and 4 more groups of ants with 7 smaller guards pressing them on. A little past our soldiers and slaves is more lumbering on the beach, with a strangely shaped boat moored nearby. It resembles..." she drew the shape in the ground with a wing tip, "This glyph. I'm not the seafaring type, but it doesn't seem particularly practical to me."

Chell looks down on the symbol Freya had drawn on the ground, somewhat confused that the bat had called it a 'glyph'? "It's just an H, nothing special about it... granted, probably not too good a design for a boat... someone probably has an ego the size of a small moon..."

Midna grumbles about the limitations of this tiny body, when Freya asks about her mind reading deficiencies. Instead she focuses on Freya's description of the camp. Eleven golems was likely more than their small band could overcome. "We might be able to pick them off one at a time if they are patrolling widely enough," she muses, "Unless you two want to try being diplomatic again."
Chell grabbing for her attention brings her back around to the boat and it's strange shape. She gestures to the rabbit, "Chell says it's an 'H' and probably bad boat design. And probably some terrible hubris." Still the talk of the boat gives her another idea. "Embershell, you said we couldn't get off the island on a boat right? So why not set it ablaze as a distraction. He's sure to come looking if his bet project is going up in smoke."

"An intriguing notion. This masked man seems to have put a great deal of his effort into this boat construction, as you said. He certainly wouldn't take kindly to his vessel's destruction. He'd likely devote an inordinate amount of resources to quashing would be interlopers. I propose this. We send out a strike force to burn the boat. It doesn't particularly matter if they succeed in doing so or not, simply that they gather his wrath. He then sends out what I hope is the bulk of his forces to fight, where that group performs a fighting retreat, while the real strike force deals with the camp, freeing the other ants and confronting this Masked Man directly."
"Assuming that we decide to go this route, who would prefer to be in each group? The majority of our force would need to be in the secondary force. I think that is where I'd be best, for certain."

Ember Shell steps up, flanked by his brothers.
"We will execute this task. Unlike your group, we cannot do harm to these stone men. So for a task of merely getting their attention, we can do that. As well as the fire, which 'I' shall handle."

"May we borrow one of your number, someone you trust, a second in command perhaps, who might inspire your fellows to action in a moment's notice when we arrive? I don't think we'll have the opportunity to tolerate lethargy."
