Frowning slightly at the insect's words, Chell winks at the cat, before suddenly jumping over to the bug, landing right in front of it so she's facing it, smirking slightly. She then proceeds to give a slight prod to the horn protruding from the bug's head. It looked like someone had issues with their balance.

Illuminating as her the view she'd taken in was, getting back down to the others to report it was going to take some doing. It brought her back a little - to training and getting stuck atop statues after a leap that was a step or so too successful for where she was as a dragoon. At least this time, she had branches to land on as she slipped and slides back down to earth.
At the very least, she managed to avoid smashing any bones in the process, but she had more than aching wings to contend with by the time she was touching the ground again.
"So... before I give my report... are any of you islanders? Or familiar with any? Particularly of the mountain topped variety?"

Perhaps to Hura's surprise, the crocodile who towers over the smaller creatures gives a toothy grin. "By all means, I'd hate to be excluded from the club here. All friendships have to start somewhere. Now, where are my manners? I suppose in all this chaos I have neglected the most common of courtesies. My name is Frank. Who do I have the pleasure of addressing?"
When Freya returns and poses her question, Frank pipes up, "I've never lived on an island before, but I've visited plenty. Why do you ask? Is that what we're on?"

A smile cracks the corner of Midna's lips, "Wouldn't dream of it." It wasn't strictly a lie. She normally didn't dream. Midna might have found herself a cat's paw. But the thought gives her pause. The rabbit's joyful bounces make it seem, distasteful. Maybe I should trust them?
The decision could keep; she still didn't know if any of them might be responsible. She returns the bunny's smile weakly before frowning as the bug parrots her. It wasn't funny if he did it too. Serves him right to be tumbled. She keeps quiet at Franks question. They'd know who she was when it suited her.
The bat's return and subsequent question is almost as helpful the crocodile's. That is to say none. Nonetheless she tries to be helpful. "The only island that I know of is in the middle of a lake, so no. As for mountains," She takes a moment to fruitlessly smooth her fur, "I might have explored a mountain or two. Of course, the one was active." She waves it off as a sliver of concern enters her voice, "So you didn't see anything familiar?"

At the sudden pounce from the bunny, Hura started babbling a hasty, "Hey wait what, what do you think you're- aïe!" Their cry was, of course, far more dramatic than necessary, and he even had it fade out as he hit the ground. Then came a fit of giggling as he tossed and turned on the floor.
He calmed down when the bat returned though, and after a jolly (if short of breath), "O-okay, I get it. Not everyone can have an impenetrable shell like mine, its fine to be envious~", taking a moment to roll a few paces away, and then getting up (yet again!), Hura answered, "Ah... no and no. Plenty of mountains, but no islands."

"That's unfortunate. It would seem no one among us is familiar with the surrounding terrain, than." Freya rubbed her chin with a the broad side of her left wing, staring up into the canopy overhead.
"It would appear we're on one surrounded by a sort of dome of storm clouds, overhead and all around, as if the whole ocean surrounded us is raging with foul weather. Or, perhaps more accurately," she turned, pointing in the direction she'd seen the cloud spewing mountain, "the island itself, or someone interfering with it, is billowing out clouds in every direction surrounding it. Evidently our host doesn't want us leaving by air or sea. The source of the clouds is from the inside of a mountain at the center of our island. It might as well be a dragon made of stone."
She inclined her head respectfully in the uncoordinated bug's direction. "Mr. Beetle. If what you say is true, perhaps you're most qualified to lead any expedition we might make in that direction."

With what must have seemed like a questionable delay, Hura finally took note of their exceptionally tall 'friend's' question... Usually, their introduction had to be forced upon someone unwilling. Especially dinner. So being asked for an introduction was... well, really weird. Eyeing the crocodile quizzically, he says, "Right... Where are my manners?", and after a stray snicker, "I am the... Mighty Hura! Feared throughout the... The, err, no, my...? Ah, forget it, the moods gone. I'm Hura."
Weirder still, when he offered a suggestion someone had listened to it? Better set that straight... "Eh-heh, not... not quite. While its true, I am amazing, I'm not one to lead any expeditions. Haha, most of my experience with mountains is just hiding in them, really." And, of course, crawling my way out of the rubble if whatever I hid from destroyed it... That part wasn't as important, though. Probably. The description of the mountain had worried him just a little, but if it was something serious, it wasn't like there would still be an island. So, maybe there was something exciting atop the mountain?

"It's a pleasure, Hura. Perhaps we'd be best served by our flighted friend serving as our eyes. Are we prepared to depart? If nothing else, this mountain will provide us greater sense of where we are, and perhaps we will find our way out there. I certainly wouldn't mind calling this game quits. I am starting to get hungry."

"Freya Crescent. Dragon Knight of Burmecia." For all that meant to this strange lot she inwardly sighed. All thr same, the bat bowed about as well as a creature that was more wings and torso than anything else could manage, and tried to frown away the pain still troubling her back, wings, head....
"Once introductions are done, perhaps it wouldn't hurt to search elsewhere on the island before we head up the mountain top right away? Perhaps there are natives, or others like us. Humans and the like in beast form."

The bat's description don't give Midna any clues. This doesn't sound like anything Zant could do...So what's going on? But that mountain sounds promising. She didn't fancy a swim out of here. Maybe there was some portal or something off of here.
Oh goody. Everyone was giving out names. Well there was no real reason to deny them. Even if she feels slightly snubbed, by Freya passing over her for leading the way. "You may call me Midna. And while there might be others on this island, we're just as likely to find them going towards the mountain." She turns to face the smooth talking Frank, "And what kind of place even has a game where you lose your body?"

"I'd also prefer to head for the mountain. It's far enough away by the sound of it that if anything were to dissuade us, we'd encounter it plenty before we got there. So, Hura, Freya, Midna, what's your name, quiet one?"
Frank addresses Midna with a frown. "Soon enough, we'll get out of here. I don't yet know what sort of trick is being played on me, but I have votes to whip in the morning. I hope this isn't interrupting my sleep cycle."
"In any case, walk and talk. Freya, you said the mountain was in this direction?" Frank begins walking without turning to see if the others are following.

Chell smirks as the bug once again topples over, before raising an eyebrow at his? her? its words. She then turns to the bat thingy and shakes her head in the negative. When the others start introducing themselves, she gestures to the cat... Midna, before mentally saying. "My name's Chell."
She just listens as the others discuss where to go, not really inputting anything herself. Honestly, it had been so long since she'd been outside, anywere outside would be nice to go right now. She wasn't exactly keen on jus blindly following the crocoile... Frank though. In her experience, blindly following people you'd just met rarely ended well...
So instead, she again turns to Midna, head tilted slightly in thought. "To give you an answer by someone who isn't delusional - at least, I don't think so- the company I worked for could have made a game just like that... heck, they probably even have done so, most likely by accident... But I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be it... Too ... natural looking, really." She vaguely waves her paws over to the trees. She looks over to where Frank was going. "Wonder how long it takes before he figures out no one is following him..."

Midna dutifully relays the rabbit's name, "The 'silent one' says that her name is Chell." She doesn't furnish an explanation. This Frank, wouldn't believe her anyway. Silly human. And it's not like he was even making sense right now. Surely addled.
As Frank begins to set off, Chell catches Midna's attention once again. This is gonna get tedious. But she doesn't know what to think about the rabbit's answer. It leaves ends up leaving her with even more questions than answers. "How could someone do something like this," she extends her paws wide, "By accident? And people normally tell you the most basic rules before shunting you into a game. That way they can cheat you later."
She turns to Freya as she she continues, "Frank seems pretty oblivious. If we don't follow him now he's likely to get lost or run into something not so friendly." Midna shrugs. "But, as I said, the mountain is our best bet so we might as well chase after him." She's ready to move out once the rest are ready.

Hura was pretty giddy at having an amiable conversation partner... As opposed to the standard violent one, or even the reluctant kind. Although that bat seemed determined to get under his skin... shell? Carapace? Whatever, the point was that dragons were bad news. Unless she was one of those humans who called themselves "knights"? That would be way, way better than a dragon that also called itself a knight, considering the only good thing about a dragon was that it couldn't care less about doing anything. It did beg the question of what self-important-respecting dragon would let a human ride it, though.
At his surprisingly chummy buddy's question (the one posed to the bunny), he pipes up, "Ooh, if you can get an answer out of her, I'll be truly impre-eh? Eh?! Well that's a silly name, how would she even tell you? Nope, I'm not going to let you have all the fun giving our tight-lipped, pushy friend a name! She can be henceforth known as... Baroness Bounce-a-lot of Bun-bun Village." After a pause for 'dramatic' effect, Hura blurts, "Oh, wait, I've got it. Fluffy! They'll never expect your hard, unyielding and well-muscled bunny body with a name like that!"
Their thoughtful suggestions given, Hura does, in fact, waddle after the crocodile. It didn't matter much where they were going, but it wasn't like there was anything to do here. And besides, he needed the practice walking. Stupid little legs, how was he supposed to scurry around on these stubs?

Chell frowns at the bug's incessant rambling, tempted to retaliate, but she refrains. For now. Regardless of how amusing it would be to tell him that the last talkative idiot who annoyed her had ended up in orbit around Earth.
She grins slightly at Midna's question, amused. "Beats me. Aperture Science had a rather... unorthodox way of making science, shall we say." She shakes her head, "But I really don't think that's this all is a game... at least, not for us. More likely that we're the pieces..." She frowns at her last thought, annoyed at being once again nothing but a toy...
She sighs and shrugs "I suppose we might as well follow, yeah... as good a place to go, I guess."

"Flying might work better for me, for starters. Seems this body needs the exercise at any rate." She replied to Frank. he wasn't any more right in the head than the others, the silent rabbit and the cat - abrasive as she seemed - not withstanding, but at the very least he was polite enough. Insanity came in all sorts of packages, maybe.
The aforementioned cat's words made her throw her wings up in a shrug. "You might be right. I've the feeling in my heart that our host would like us to visit the mountain sooner or later, regardless. But there's strength in numbers and knowledge , and we're lacking both at the time... but it's the best lead we've to follow, I suppose."
The bug's antics made her ears flatten as much as her expression did. His was the kind of insanity she'd seen before. A lot of humans and other visitors didn't take to Burmecia's rain well and wound up with drowned skulls like his, as her people liked to call them. Maybe the higher elevation would be enough to dry his out, if bugs even had that sort of thing.
"... No point in lingering than." Freya sighed, beat her wings, and tried gliding. It was still a little awkward, and the former Burmecian had to flap the things hard enough that the muscles ached all over again, but it beat crawling about on tiny, useless legs not much better than Hura's. "It was in this direction." She gestured after landing on another branch. "I couldn't see enough of the terrain to surrounding it to tell how difficult the trip will be."

You all begin traveling in the direction of the mountain, and away from the un-searched shore. Walking uneventfully (and quietly, sorta) for a half-hour, you notice something red in the distance. Getting closer, those who are able to recognize it see a crashed one-seater plane! It hadn't fully reached the forest floor yet, stuck leaning against a tree, held up by numerous branches.
All seems quiet at the moment, there's no sign that the plane will fall. Or that it even crashed recently, with all the overgrowth on it.

Midna can't argue with Chell's assessment. Wouldn't it be nice if someone didn't come along swiping her stuff for once? "Well whoever they are, they sound like a jerk." Her distaste at the whole ordeal simmers as they travel along. It's almost enough for her to ignore the fact that she's walking long distances. Almost.
The sight of the plane brings her pause. "Who would build such a weird house out here and just abandon it?"

"These are the kind of homes you live in?" Freya had been alternating resting on trees and flying throughout the trip. She settled on some branches high enough that, were the strange red thing to come crashing down, she wouldn't crushed by it.
"The real you can't be much larger than how you are now, than."

Chell shakes her head at Freya's and Midna's conversation. "Not a house. It's an air plane... A type of vehicle used to fly through the air. Looks like it crashed here some time ago." She moves over closer to inspect the machine, first checking to see if it's stable before hopping up a branch near it to get a closer look at the machinery. Who knows, there might be something salvageable left? Edu: Tech: EAZM8eVr3d6 Perception: 3d6 3d6·3d6
