Hannah opened her mouth to reply to Maril after puzzling out what exactly it was that she said, but Ovelia put her foot down about Golif's request and suddenly everyone was accusing each other to try to get an advantage unfairly. When Ovelia suggested the electric mage go up first, Hannah knew it was for her. She was grateful Ovelia was thinking of her, but she didn't want such friction added onto the already tense relations between the guilds.
"Uhm," Hannah cleared her throat, "What if we drew randomly for the first match up? Our group right now has the advantage of picking first more times so this makes it even to both sides. Also, it would make picking opponents for further rounds easier since a lot of people are only weak against one person, havin' someone be gone will give ya'll more neutral options yeah? We can re-draw if Golif gets matched up against a lady... "

Ovelia glanced over at Hannah, "An interesting suggestion, but hardly one that solves either of the issues. If we just re-draw based on who Golif gets we might as well just let him pick." She then looked back at Galia.
"I agree with you, neutral is indeed the ideal scenario. It was one of the reasons to select Guy. I'm an electric mage myself and so I know our strengths and weaknesses. Our constructs are only weak to the earth as you said. But we lack an earth mage. However, since we are discussing who you would select next match, it'd only be fair to discuss who we could select. A neutral match-up is the goal which leaves our two males out. And the males should be reserved for Golif anyways. I would resist Guy, though Guy would also resist me. So that's not neutral. Instead, I present Hannah for your consideration." Ovelia said motioning towards the woman. "She is a rock mage. Electric isn't weak to rock. Rock isn't weak to electric. And neither resists the other." Ovelia noted. "Thus each sides get an equal neutral match-up for the first two. Nobody wastes their pick. And Golif's honor is maintained."

Oh no, it wasn't Ovelia's fault, she hadn't met Plow Plow yet or seen him do earth magic. Hannah couldn't remember if she mentioned it last night or not. She bit her lip, if she stayed quiet they'd have quite an advantage in the first match up, but if they saw Hannah (or rather Plow Plow) use earth magic after Ovelia claimed Hannah didn't have it so it was a fair match up...
For the first time since the other Sages had met her the smile on Hannah's face had fallen into a frown. This wasn't at all what she expected being a knight was going to be like, not after what William had described to her. Scrabbling for any sort of advantage and squabbling with the other guild when the Youngest Sages were supposed to help and support all guilds. Hannah looked around the room, person by person, the wheels in her head turning. First the opposing team, and then their own.
Hannah was quiet for a few long moments as Ovelia tried to negotiate and then stepped forward with a resolute expression on her face.
"I'll fight her," she pointed at the burly woman in green, "I'll fight her first and ya'll can have the type advantage but it counts as us pickin' first and ya'll gotta pick your folks first for the next two rounds. I volunteer myself if ya'll agree to do that."

Jelenna sighs, and taps her foot impatiently as people just talk and talk. Didn't know you had to think so hard about going out, and beating someone up..."Oi! There's a lota talk about fighting, but no actual fighting! Let's go, win, and listen to the songs of our greatness."

"How is that at all a useful or good deal for us?" Ovelia asked with a frown. "In exchange for limiting out options next round we take a type disadvantage for nothing? Next round they already pick first and we are locked to Niyol or Mael. So it only gains us first pick the following round and they can grab someone that gives a neutral. How is disadvantage for two neutrals fair?" Ovelia asked wondering what the hell Hannah was thinking. "Besides we already have a deal both sides are happy with. Two neutral at the start."

Hannah pulled Ovelia aside, a little bit, bringing her over to the rest of the Youngest Sages so they could talk as a group without the Rainbow Dragons overhearing too much.
"I was just offerin' because if I go then I don' think anyone else gotta fight someone who they're weak against if we pick right. I've gotten pretty good at takin' my licks and gettin' back up again so I ain't scared t' go against the lady. Also, since I just got outta trainin' yesterday and they got a big type advantage I don' think people'll see it as a big dishonor for us right? Ya'll can say I wasn' ready an' even send me back 't training I don't mind..." Hannah paused a moment and then added, "An' they said they didn't wanna lead with Guy 'cause we might have a ground warrior. Like I said last night, Plow Plow's a ground warrior so it ain't really fair to make them pick him, 'specially since they're letting us pick 'tween two people and we're only lettin' them pick one if ya put me up first and ask for an even match up... I don't wanna lie 'bout that."
Hannah gave a cheery smile, "I mean, everyone still gets a vote but we gotta pick first twice an' they got people good against all of us 'cept Ovelia... So I'm sayin' I don't mind bein' paired up badly that's all. I gotta 3 outta 4 chance of it happening anyways at least this way I'm useful in makin' them pick twice in a row so we know what's happenin' next." She looked around the group, "The whole group still gets t' vote or have their say or whatever though, so if ya'll don't agree we can change it."

Mael sighs. "All this back on forth is leading us nowhere. What we need right now is some unity. To that end I am putting my 'vote' in for Ovelia's plan. I see what both plans are trying to achieve, and honestly, I don't care as much whether they do or not as one might think." He is silent for a moment. "Don't take this as me making light of your mental efforts, or not caring about what made you choose these plans, but I'm simply starting to get tired of the discussion. I know that's not helpful and for that I apologize. Anyway, I cast my lot with Ovelia for this one, because I believe her plan has a greater chance of leading us to victory while still being fair."

Niyol look up from eating a bake potato dripping with melted butter when he heard the dark mage cast his opinion into the discussion. Sometime during the discussion Niyol had wondered off to the feast spread out enticed by the food and ended up ignoring the conversation knowing that Oveila will have the running her way one way or another. For a moment Niyol stop to considered maybe letting Oveila argue her way through everything is a very knight like thing to do. But at the moment NIyol didn't care and take care to keep track of the conversation once Oveila started negotiating with Golif so really he had no right to comment at that moment. But at the sound of the dark mage aggitated, and dare he say more tired voice, Niyol look on over with an easy going grin. "Aye, let's go with Oveila plan. Simple as that." And then the pirate return to his potato.

Jelenna looks back and forth at her companions, and taps her chin. "Hmmm...Hannah, you have done a great service to me back in training camp, and you have not looked down on me like some fools. So, I would normally be on your side. But, in the interest of smashing these Rainbow Shmucks as quickly as possible, I will humor the elderly, and chose the old crone's plan. It shames me so, but we will celebrate our victory later."

With a nod then from the other side of the room, the Galia said, "Alright then, if that's the case, I think that's an equal fight. I will say now that you're the one who asked for it."
With that Sans came into the room and chuckled, "Alright everyone head to your seats. I think that we have a consensus."
He lifted the tent flap, and the first round of battles was ready to begin.

After Jelenna is awoken by medics, she clutches her staff, slowly gets to her feet, and swings the staff around at anyone near her. "Get away from me!!" She hits her staff on the ground over and over. "Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!! "She curses, and swears as she limps away back to her room in "The Pot." She doesn't stick around for the remainder of the honor match.

With the end of the match ushers over the crowd of the excitement of the victory now being upon the hands of the order of the youngest sage the young mages still in the viewing area are amazed to notice a quick shift in front of them.
The tables from the room filled with food are lowered next to the field.
At the same times, the small red cherries rush their way to Ovelia, healing her back to a virtually unharmed state.
With that Sans walked over to the groups seated and said, "Congrats and good match. We'll give you all a day off tommorow so party and have fun. We need to make sure the crowd doesn't think their's infighting among the orders."
He started walking toward the food and then added, "Oh and one of you should go talk to Jelena."

Hannah had watched all the matches she could, and could be hear hooting and hollering with the rowdiest of spectators. She was glowing with pride by the time the whole thing was done, the final match had put it all on the line and they had won! It had been much closer than she expected too. She sort of wanted to go find Guy and talk to him, or maybe the guy Jelena had fought, but when Sans mentioned Jelena specifically, Hanna realized for the first time she hadn't seen her since the match.
"Oh shoot! Where did she get off to I didn't even realize she was missin'? I'll go find her an' talk ta her!" Hannah volunteered immediately, actually raising her hand in the air.
With that she set off to find Jelena, eventually knocking gently on Jelena's room at The Pot.
"Jelennaaaa, are ya' in there? The matches are all over everyone's celebratin' without ya. I know you'd hate t' miss it all!"

Jelenna has been lying on her bed just stewing in her own rage, disappointment, and embarrassment. The knocking on her door, and cheerful voice only set her off. She reaches over to her desk, grabs a flower pot, and flings it as hard as she can at he door, loudly shattering it. "Go away!! Leave me alone!!"

With the battle done and victory taken for the Youngest Sage, Ovelia headed toward the food. Hannah was dealing with the childish one, so she saw little need to head there. As she arrived at the food, she grabbed a bite to eat, finally eating now that combat was done.

Hannah didn't flinch on the other side of the door at the crash though she did pull away a little and stare at the door.
"Well if yer' angry at me ya won't hit me without openin' the door. So I guess you gotta not be angry or ya gotta open the door right?" she said, good humor in her voice.
She paused a second and added, "Ya can't miss yer victory party either, it'd be a shame..."

"Ya didn't get cheated," Hannah said, "Ya made a noble sacrifice to take on a big ol' disadvantage so the rest of the party could win th' fight. They didn't trust me with that but they trusted you... Big deal there, real selfless heroic move!" Her voice raised up a little hopefully at the end, as if encouraging Jelenna to buy into the compliment.

Jelenna breaths heavy, and works up a bit of a sweat. "I was cheated! Why did I have the only bad match-up!? Huh!? I was cheated by my own team! Then, I got cheated during the match cuz that old fart kept on...moving, and dodging! *pant pant*" She tosses her staff at the door, and the door pops open a bit. "*pant pant* Hit only 2 or 3 times...and we're done!?...Steals my hat....I *pant* HATE it when they do that!!....No one ever......takes me seriously........." She slowly gets back on her bed, sits up against the corner, and hugs her knees to herself.

Hannah gave a sympathetic but slightly worried smile as Jelenna the door opened. She poked her head in cautiously. "Ya had the bad match up 'cuz you're super brave and weren't scared of it none."
She went over and sat down next to Jelenna at the bed. "Mmm, you wanna be a big ol' hero right? Well, the best kinda heroes are the underdogs right? Those are the ones that everyone love cheerin' for. This is just you bein' under for now."
