"Oh, yeah. In the Dark Branch, everyone is given a mandatory mission every day: Defeat four other people in battle. The only time limit is, of course, completing it within a single day if you want the reward of 500 crowns. No penalty if you don't do it, aside from social stigma, but I've yet to meet anyone who couldn't manage to win four times in a whole day. Even if you're not great at battling in the first place, it's not difficult if you find the right type of person to fight. Personally, I like to challenge myself, but others are less confident in their skills and seek out easier targets." She frowns a bit. "Some of them deliberately go after kids, but that seems rare. Plenty of other people to face."
She shakes her head. "Enough about me though, what about you? You said you're in Steel Branch? I think I heard someone mention them once, but it doesn't seem like they do much except hang around and act all suspicious of Lady D'Mara and other Dark members. It's like they think we're all thieves or something, I dunno."

"Yes I'm in the Steel branch but as far as my experience goes we aren't suspicious of the Dark Branch members or think your thieves."
There's just the ONE who literally stole a person that we are suspicious of but...
"But yes, the Steel Branch is the smallest one. That's the challenge I preferred, myself. But it seems I still have room to grow."
Rei goes to hand Laurel her payout.

For such a small branch, you'd think they'd be more interested in recruiting, but you're honestly the first person I've heard has actually joined them. I heard a rumor that there are only two people in Steel Branch, or, I guess, three counting you. Any truth to that rumor that you know of?"

Rei scoffs a little at these silly rumors about her branch.
"There's more than three. It really wouldn't be a branch if it was just three people. Just a small group of friends at that point. I'm having trouble finding a steel-type myself so I can represent more, but there's still plenty of time. Although I do agree with you, it is strange they don't seek out others. I was told it was a hard path to begin with and it's not for most, so maybe that's why."

As she mentions this, it occurs to you that, in fact, you haven't seen her leave. Granted, you're often off on adventures or missions with Tiki and Clay, but combined with the fact there isn't even a mission board in Steel Branch, and the fact that neither Lady Sorra nor her squire/apprentice/whatever-her-title-is Maya have offered you missions/jobs/what-have-you, it does seem a bit suspicious. Sure, Sorra said herself that her (and by extension, Steel's) job is to monitor Dark for suspicious activity, but based on Laurel's description of the place, Sorra could be jumping at shadows, or being overly cautious/suspicious of people she doesn't understand.

First pokemon out is a pink, bipedal sheep with what looks like a natural fluffy wool hat/scarf.
