Rei - Solo RP & Special Missions

"I... I... I..."

Rei finally stops struggling and sinks.

"Fine..."

Rei looks down and clearly doesn't accept the circumstances, but at least she's not struggling anymore.

Rei just stares at nothing for a while in Holly's embrace.

To her, this was too much. Everything happening was putting so much pressure on her, causing her to stress out to unbelievable levels, which then in turn puts undue pressure on Holly to keep Rei sane. Their relationship at this point is being built on rocky ground. HER rocky ground. And at some point something bad will happen to ruin it. Just like everything else Rei's going through.

She tries to get up out of Holly's arms.

"...I need some air."

What Rei says almost has some more emphasis than normal speech, as it's a line Holly's had to give her a few times, and Rei actively knows that. She tries to leave the room.

Rei just walks out and heads into Cerulean. She needs something to clear her head. Or at least distract her. She goes out for training with her chosen team, and at least it lets her do 'something' rather than just stress out in the room. After a few matches, she just finds herself wandering nearby. She just looks off at the nearby areas.

It doesn't matter if Holly says it's ok or not, she really hasn't been able to do anything she set out to do. Couldn't stop the poachers, couldn't even 'leave' to find her father... and when she was literally offered power to save everyone, she was too scared to take it.

And every time she tries to actually 'enjoy' something in order to get her mind back in place, it's ruined by something or other. The beach fun times the whole group had? Right after she was attacked by the poacher. Practically every time Holly tries to calm Rei down, SOMETHING has to pop up related to this destiny and ruin it. Celeste after the first time they were together in the woods, and then the Light and Giratina yesterday when Holly was simply trying to distract Rei. Choosing Holly in the first place led to... Tiki issues...

Rei just sits and sighs and looks out into the port town.

Holly is right by her side again. She says nothing; only admitting that she's glad Rei is back as she snuggles up to her to desperately try to cheer her up.

Holly grabs the book and slides into the chair, placing it upon the table. She navigates back to where she last left off and begins to slowly read aloud. She tries to put all of her concern for Rei's well-being to the back of her mind while she focuses on learning to read better.

Holly nods emphatically. "I definitely feel like it's getting easier. Like fewer big words are confusing me." She resumes the reading lesson.

Holly nods briefly as she continues reading. There are still a few words that trip her up, but those grow ever fewer it seems. Who knows? She may even be fully literate (or at least slightly more literate) by the end of the day.

Rei doesn't do that, just maintains her position by the window, looking out into space. She's in two minds about this. Yes, if things didn't happen a certain way, she may not have told them. Not the worst thing considering Clay has enough to worry about them anyway. So if she didn't work it up, Holly saying it/warning them might be for the best. But on the other hand, Holly didn't even give her a CHANCE to reply. And adding in 'it made Rei upset again' was just a bit insulting. Not that it wasn't wrong, but to bring up that as the thing of interest first rather than a warning was just condesending. 

So she doesn't know what side to go on, so she just continues to stare out the window as if nothing changed.
