Arata presses the button on his ball and then jumps in surprise as the light beam attempts to release the Nidoran into his arms. He fumbles a catch and then lowers him to the ground. "I caught this fellow. I believe I will call him Saitama. It means 'Coloured Jewel' where I am from." he pats the rabbit, thinking to himself how it can also mean coloured cape, and maybe he should get this guy a red cape. He would look quite fearsome in a cape... he thinks to himself. "I believe you also caught one similar, am I correct Ori'Cos?" Arata still has some trouble with the name, but it comes out mostly correct.

Bug nods, pressing the button on the two balls to release his new wiggly friends... Only to be greeted by their tough carapaces. He looks them over, a bit confused as he looks at the ball. After a moment, recognition appears on his face. It's not the first time he's seen a bug go into a cocoon, and he looks to Jace with pride. "Bug would like to introduce Aegis and Spear! The two were more wiggly when Bug saw the two for the first time." He indicates the green and yellow cocoons respectively, nodding happily. "The two are friends of Bug, and will become Guardians like Bug!" He seems very pleased with himself, and the growth of his two new friends.

Cho releases her prize as well. "I believe this one is called 'Pichu', but I think I'll be naming it Miles. I don't know why, but it just looks like a Miles to me."
The newly christened Miles, not having any knowledge of human naming habits (and thus not knowing that Cho had accidentally given it a name for the opposite gender, not that it would have cared), peers around the room it finds itself in curiously, not having had much experience with places outside of the forest before.

Ruta let his hands fall back under his cloak empty of the Pokeball and deliberately gave the man an impassive look. ‘Why is it I should react to anything this old man says simply for his amusement.’ Ruta clearing seeing that old man was just trying to rile him up, albeit, for some unknown reason. ‘Ah, maybe he’s like some of the other Orzhov servants that likes to get ‘a kick out’ of torturing their subordinates. Sadistic, i think they are called.’ Ruta had some experience with those members of the guild and he knew that the most important thing was never react to their bullying, no matter what.
With that in mind, Ruta stood rigidly in his spot as the group watch how Kurt create the Apricorn Balls. Ruta admit to himself that it was interesting to see Kurt channel mana into the balls and that it be something productive to look into later when he tries it for himself. Faultless in turn, seem to react for Ruta earlier silence, letting out a low growl at the old man every now and then and casting his sinister red eyes upon him as he messed with the round balls.
As the other voiced their decision, Ruta was more than ready to head back and nod his head in agreement, all the while ignoring Kurt even as they traveled down the same route together. Really, Ruta couldn’t see the amusement in the situation to laugh about it like the others perhaps creating the situation even more awkward for being the only one completely unamused.
Casting his gaze at the others and their catch first, Ruta then release the bird Pokemon and held out his arm for it to lad on his forearm as if he had always been a falconer. “This one is called a Pidgey. Usually I wouldn’t consider naming a creature when it already have a name. But in this case, ‘Pidgey’ seem unrespectable. If i have to choose… ‘Penance’, yes, much more respectable. Penance.”

Oak takes his time checking out the Pokemon you all present him. Every few seconds he goes to writing in a notebook, taking particularly long when detailing the Pichu and the two Nidoran. He almost passes up the Pidgey entirely until something catches his attention and he begins scribbling furiously. He takes some notes on the Kakuna and Metapod, but nothing seemed too terribly out of the ordinary for them based on appearance alone.
Upon finishing his notes Oak walks over to the you.
"Wont lie. You've all got interesting specimens here. They've all got something going on that changes them from the norm. I knew that Pokemon were changing but I didn't know it was happening so quickly... This changes everything my grandfather worked on."
Another man, wearing a red hat and jacket, steps into the room. He stops in the doorway upon seeing all of you but Oak goes ahead and waves him in. Apart from his initially being startled by you all, he otherwise ignores you as he walks to Oak and hands him a small red electronic device. Oak grabs it and begins to cycle through it, eyes growing worried as he looks at each new thing on the screen. He pats the man in red on the back and thanks him as Jace walks in.
"Well, how'd they do?"
Oak sighs loudly, not sure where to begin.
"Well, they all caught Pokemon. And they're definitely Deltas, although I wasn't sure about the bird at first. I don't know how to explain it happening, its like when Red ascended it changed the entire nature of our plane. Which is weird, isn't it? Does this mean that people here are going to start doing things like you, with the mana and whatnot?"

"Well..." Cho replies, remembering their experiences earlier that day, "We met a man named Kurt in the forest. He showed us some techniques for creating a pokeball, and he seemed to be using mana unconsciously to do it. I hypothesize that many people on this plane are in fact magically inclined, but simply do not know it, or do not truly understand the mechanics behind their abilities. It is possible that if knowledge of mana and its use was widely disseminated, this plane could experience a surge in the number of people who could perform feats previously considered exceptional."
Looking at the man in red quizzically, she asks "Hello, are you the 'Red' in question? You certainly seem the part."

Arata muses over what he had heard of these Pokémon. They also seemed to channel mana to an extent, producing fire and lightning, or beams of solid ice. Not too different to other planes really, when he considered the blue mana that Shiki-kan can sometimes channel. He thought back to when he first learned to visualise the mana he now channeled, how this small warrior he had chosen possessed mostly blue, but also some white, and how his own mana colour was naturally white. It was this that had drawn them together. Indeed focusing on the mana in Saitama, he could see the black and white, and again it seems the white mana had bonded them. When Arata fights, he channels his white mana into his swords. Maybe he had always done that, as Kurt channels into his Pokéballs. It had come naturally after his ascension after all. What then would happen if the denizens of this plane became more magic. Would it become a place of war, like so many other planes... like Kamigawa? he thought.
As Cho talks to the red-decked person, Arata addresses Oak "Are there many wars on this plane."

Bug listens quietly as everyone else talks, taking in all the information. He wasn't really sure what to say, since he didn't know a lot of the theory behind what he did. He only knew the practice. He spoke up quietly, unsure how to say the things he wanted to with this new language. "Bug is... Unsure. Kurt seems like Bug, knowing by doing, not by knowledge. Many others will appear, if magic grows. But magic does not decide good or evil. People do. People must be guided to find correct path, or risk falling into abyss. And magic does not only affect people." He patted each of the cocoons, locking eyes with Oak. "Bug thinks that pokemon may not have started as these Deltas Oak mentioned. Bug things Planeswalker influence may have played large part and allowed pokemon to evolve INTO Deltas after caught."

"Hmm, Bug may be onto something here. It should be an easy hypothesis to test, assuming you possess a device that can tell you the specifics of an individual before and after you capture it. I'd volunteer myself, but I don't know what Jace has planned for us, and thus no idea if we'd have the time to gather a proper sample size to prove or disprove anything."
Cho taps her lip in thought. "Perhaps if you gathered data from any others coming on a similar assignment? Of course, you'd need a control group, so you'd have to read in a civilian, preferably one who doesn't unconsciously use mana to avoid contaminating the results..."

Professor Oak strokes his chin while thinking over the new information. The man, Red, that Cho addressed seems rather disinclined to respond to anything asked to him, choosing instead to nod when Cho asked him his name. Jace takes the lead in the discussion.
"So you're saying that its possible Red's ascension is the cause for the species of Pokemon in the world being changed so dramatically. Sounds reasonable enough. But then that leads us to other questions, such as why weren't there any Planeswalkers from here before. And why are they only falling into line with their owners' Mana now?"
Oak speaks up, choosing to interject his own theory.
"Perhaps our Plane was different somehow? Like it wasn't quite in line with the rest of the Multiverse for whatever reason, but Red's ascension is bringing us more towards that point. I can hardly believe some of the Planes you've told me about, but the one thing they have in common is that they're all vastly different from one another in their own little ways."
Oak turns away from everyone and walks over to a large mechanical structure. He begins to tap at the machine.
"My grandfather originally gave Red and me these devices to catalog the Pokemon here in Kanto. It was his dream to have a definitive list of all the Pokemon in our region and Red and I were exactly the correct people to do it. Since then kids starting their journies have been receiving one of their own, but more for them to be able to keep an organized list of the Pokemon they encounter. Red there has been going to different Planes and explained to me that while the creatures on other Planes are vastly different than our own they seem to follow a lot of the same rules as the Pokemon here. So if my hypothesis is correct, and it should be, then this should work."
A few moments later he retrieves a number of small red devices. He points it at Faultless. It takes a couple seconds to scan before an image of a small purple cat appears on the screen with the name "Purloin" underneath. Oak gives a broad smile to Red, showing him the result. Red, for his part, shows more expression than before and looks visibly excited at what he sees in front of him. Oak hands one of the devices to each of you, as well as Jace.
"This is the Pokedex. It was one of my grandfather's greatest contributions to the research of Pokemon here in this Plane. It would seem that even the creatures you all brought from wherever you're from are essentially Pokemon, which means these things should make your lives at least a little bit easier. See, as Pokemon grow they gain a number of powers and abilities. And some, like the ones Bug caught for example, even change form. The Pokedex will be able to tell you what species of Pokemon the creatures you encounter most resemble in form, and also have a comprehensive list of what abilities and powers they can gain, not accounting for Planar differences yet obviously. If you all wouldn't mind, I'd like you to take these devices with you and catalog the Pokemon you come across. It will upload the data directly to me and could definitely help with the research I'm conducting here on the Deltas."

This conversation went somewhat over Arata's head, though the Pokédex and it's functions seemed simple enough. Oak's last sentence left him puzzling a conundrum. "Will these devices transmit to you across planes?" he turns to Jace, "Or if not, might our guildmages be able to assist? Even more, if these creatures match the creatures of the other planes even without the recent shifts, might it be wise to have information shared here also?"

Accepting the pokedex from the professor, Cho turns it on her gelectrode.
"So you are saying the creatures we brought with us are all analogous to species found here on this plane? What if they are man-made?"
After scanning the target and puzzling it over for a while, the pokedex finally beeps and returns a result: Voltorb [Unknown Variant], with a stock picture of the base form. Cho takes a look at the entry.
"Oh, so you have artificial creatures on this plane, too. Hmm, this sure doesn't look that much like a gelectrode, but I suppose that's due to the type differences mentioned. At least they appear to be useful for similar reasons, so I guess they aren't as different as they may seem."
She looks back up at Jace and the professor. "So, we've caught a creature and have our fancy new electronic encyclopedia. What's next?"

Oak nods at Arata's question.
"I believe so, in any case. From what I can tell, the Pokeball information from various Planes seem to connect back here, somehow. I'm assuming the Pokedex will function similarly. If not, we'll figure something out. As for what's next, I have a promise to keep for Bug here, but its going to take me some time to reach my contact. He tends to venture out into the field without any way to get a hold of him, which has proven problematic in the past. But he gets results, so I don't argue with him."
Jace steps forward, addressing the group.
"That said, it would seem you've all managed to pass the exam. And managed to do so without trying to kill one another, which is a welcome change from some of the previous groups. So I have a mission for you, on the Plane of Innistrad. This is, of course, assuming you all wish to join the Consortium?"

This was it. The entry way into the ranks of the Consortium. Surely an organisation of this size would be able to handle the task Arata had in mind... And he would climb this ladder until he could make this happen. "You have my blade. I will join the Consortium." Arata pulls his blade and bows holding it towards Jace... The standard pledge of allegiance.

"Of course I want in; that's what I took this test for after all!" Well, that and to see more of the multiverse without accidentally running into a dangerous situation alone again, and because she was intrigued by the strange balls, but that was besides the point. "'Innistrad' sounds like an interesting name. What does the Consortium want with it? Is it as nice as this world?" Cho continued to rapid-fire questions. It was clear she was excited.

Bug simply nods, scooping up his new friends and returning them to their capsules for safety. "Bug will help Blue Hood if that is what is required. Bug enjoys helping, and will join Consortium for now. When goals align, it is foolish to not work together." He grins, preparing to Walk to this... Innistrad.
