Not long after boarding the ferry, which was simply named Tangelo 2, you all were receiving your boarding passes on the back deck, free with the scan of a valid pokedex. The sun had set, with dusk taking hold, and you were about to head into the cabin when a commotion broke out on the back deck. From your vantage point you could see a pair of headlights racing out of the forest and down the road toward the pier. The car seemed to be travelling far too fast...but as it continued on its collision course with the yacht, a series of mechanical sounds started clicking and clacking from the back of the yacht. a section of the yach's stern opened up like a garage, light pouring out as a ramp extended down to the shore. The driver of the vehicle never missed a beat, expertly driving the red sportscar into the garage without incident. As they did, you all could hear that same cackling laugh, along with a loud statement.
"Oh-hohohoho! Look at all of those...people...on the ferry! How...pedestrian! Oh-hohohoho!"
Following that, the garage shut, and nothing more could be heard. The assembled crowd mumbled amongst themselves as they dispersed. "So cool. Man, I'd kill to ride on that thing. So jealous, lucky kid...that Damien... Showoffs..."
Returning to the matter at hand, the crew made ready to leave. As you all entered the cabin, you found the communal room was at about two-thirds capacity. There were a number of hammocks and bunk beds, each with their own black-out privacy curtains. You were able to find your own bunks easily enough, and it didn't take long for you to feel the vessel start moving. Shortly after leaving port, a nurse--who looked like a very tanned Nurse Joy--came around with her Chansey. She offered ginger snaps, ginger ale, and a medicine called dramamine to help those that worried about seasickness.
The journey was very uneventful. The seas were calm, there were no major confrontations (as pokemon battling was not allowed onboard), but there were many pokemon of all types around aboard the ship. perhaps the most eventful part of the evening was around 4:00 am when a Koffing got seasick and set off the smoke alarm. Otherwise the journey was without incident.
The next day, around 8:30 am, an announcement came over the loudspeaker, and within the hour the ship had pulled into port on Tangelo Island. The Captain and Crew thanked you for your patronage, and wished you well. And so, at 10:00 am , you all found yourselves on Tangelo Island.
Tangelo Island was not large, but it was packed. Cruise Ships, yachts, pleasure boats, shrimp and fishing boats of all sizes and description crowded the docks, and just about everywhere you could see dockhands hard at work...but far more numerous than the dockhands were the tourists. Families with children, groups of young teens, adult couples, all in gaudy floral shirts of bright colors, straw hats, flip flops, tinted visors...they were everywhere, and they all seemed to be getting ready to board busses to head to Pokemon World.
The signs, fliers, banners and billboards were everywhere. Pokemon World! Ride the Dueling Gyarados! Watch a performance at the Johto Theater! Take a Pokemon Safari through their own Safari Zone! Meet with friends, battle, or let your pokemon play in the Battle Park! Take the plunge on the Mount Silver Splash! And, perhaps best of all, Half Price Admittance for Trainers!
The allure was irresistible. A theme park, a water park, a battle park, a safari zone...so many options! But the busses were filling up quickly. What will you do? Where will you go...first?

At the egoistical display, Val simply shrugs and carries on. Those who look down on others will get there comeuppance one way or another. She knew that, having dealt out a few of them herself back home.
***
The ferry ride over to the new island wasn't as bad as the ride to the archipelago in the first place. For one, it was shorter. For two, the seasickness things helped - in turning 'barely able to move' into 'constantly feeling like almost throwing up'. Which was an improvement. Marginally. At least it enabled her to get to 'Training' her new Pokémon. A good portion of which mostly consisted of a prolonged staring contest. There was a bit of seeing what he could do. But, it certainly wasn't as intense as her usual ones. She was quite happy to just collapse on the floor in the evening - the hammock swayed too much.
In the morning, she feels slightly better - after taking some more of that anti-seasickness stuff. With that, she's able to get in a little bit more serious training regimen in. But only a little bit. Once getting onto land again, though, Val perks up. And relaxes, due to there not being the omnipresent risk of death by drowning.
After taking stock of all the options, Val says, "Uh, I don't know about you guys, but the Safari Zone seem interesting. What do you guys think? Do we want to split up, then meet back here, or at the Center or something, at the end of the day?"

Matt shook his head as the jerk and his friends drove into the Yacht before rolling his eyes and heading onto the ferry.
Once the boat was actually out onto the sea he took in a large breath of the salty air before smiling. He may have only been gone for a little while, but it felt nice to be back on the open ocean. Least this way he couldn't fall down a tree, and if he fell in...well he was always a good swimmer.
He lowered the little Klink to the ground and smiled at it "Alright, Julie has decided I can be your trainer, as long as I call ya Torque, so welcome to the crew Torque" He pulls out a Pokeball and holds it out to the little Steel Type "One day, I'm gonna help you get real strong and then you can help me take on my old man and become the strongest in the whole Orange Islands. You just gotta enter this Pokeball"
***
Once they reach Tangelo Island, Matt looks around with wonder in his eyes. He had heard about it from passengers but had never actually been able to go, his parents always too busy keeping the ship moving and taking on challengers. This was it, HIS chance to finally have some fun. But of course he immediately set his sights on the Battle Park. No way he could go to a place like this and NOT try and get as strong as possible
"I'm fine with the Safari Zone, as long as I get a shot at that Battle Park at some point while we're here."

Julie settles into the cots comfortably. She had taken the ferry a few times before, and while it wasn't natural... it was alright. She spent most of her time with her new friends, familiarizing herself with them.
--- Julie is the first one off the boat when they reached Tangelo Island. Sure, it was still the gross Orange Islands, but it was a new one, somewhere different. And it had an amusement park! At the mention of the Safari Zone she begins to bounce up and down excitedly. Catching pokemon was exactly what she wanted to do! "Come on, let's do it! Safari Zone!"

Steven snorts at the rich kids actions, amused by their... triteness. He spends most of his time on the ship relexing, chatting with his new companions, as well as spending some time training Leila and Sirius (he really didn't feel like letting out the Scatterbug in a space as confined as the ship they were on. It'd come later).
Steven follows closely behind Julie off the boat, looking his eyes out. So many people, so much colours, so much to do and see!
"Nice." He's too engrossed in the sights to immediately react, but eventually does focus enough to speak. "Oh yeah, Safari Zone sounds fine, awesome even! Let's go!" He immediately begins moving to the nearest bus going to the Safari Zone, waving for the others to follow.

The four of you are directed to the bus terminal to purchase your day passes and tickets, but before you get there, you are stopped by a man at a booth, taking down numbers, filling out cards, and feeding them into a machine.
"Pokedex please. How many in your party," he asks in a somewhat unenthusiastic voice. He notes down your Trainer ID numbers on the card and feeds it into the machine. The machine is silent for a moment, but then an alarm on top of it goes off! There's a lot of commotion, and people start rushing toward you. You hear several loud popping noises as things are pointed at you, projectiles flying toward you from all sides!
"Ladies and Gentlemen we have our monthly lottery winners! Trainer ID Number 74175, Steven Malachite, congratulations! You've just won an all expense paid, two day, one night stay at Pokemon World for you and your party!," the previously unenthusiastic man shouts over a loudspeaker. People around you are looking on, clapping, some happy, others clearly jealous. With the commotion calming down somewhat, the projectiles are revealed to be streamers and confetti. Four lovely ladies in hula skirts also come out of some back room, giving each of you a decorative necklace of flowers interspersed with pokeballs.
"Give these kids a round of applause, ladies and gentlemen!," the man says as the dancers lead you out of line and off to the side.
You're all led to a back room where exactly what you've won is explained to you. Two all expense paid day passes, complete with three, three course meals per day at any on-site restaurants, express passes on any and all rides and attractions, behind the scenes VIP passes at performances, and a one night stay at the five star Wonderful World resort in the Presidential Sweet, as well as all resort services including pool, hot tub, gym, spa and salon, all paid in full. After signing some personal liability papers explaining that theme park rides have understood risks, the four of you are on your way to the park in the island's interior in your own private limousine.
The first stop is the Wonderful World resort, a modern, upscale location where you are greeted by the staff as VIP's. Your bags are carried up to your room which is nothing short of spectacular. It's a two story penthouse suite with its own private balcony, elevator, and a 360-degree window on the first floor giving you a bird's eye view of the park, island, and surrounding ocean. Each of you has your own room, and then rooms to spate. After settling in for a few moments, you're able to call down to call down to your private driver and head to the Safari Zone without delay.

Steven stands quiet for a few moments as the fanfare starts up around him, blinking as he takes it all in, before he starts grinning widely, a grin that doesn't disappear for quite some time. It is grinning that he sits back in the comfy limousine bench, popping open a can of Professor Spice, before taking a long gulp and sighing contentedly. "Aaaah, this is the life, my friends!" he says, somewhat smugly, "Always nice when that good old Malachite luck pops up. Sure, most of the family are wickedly good in their field of research, but to be frank, I think I prefer my own brand of luck a bit more." His grin by now has grown almost insufferably smug, and this smugness doesn't leave him as he sees their room for the day, even if it has to make some room for genuine awe at the entire... awesomeness of it all. "Is this cool or is this cool?" he asks the others as he looks over the entire island from the all-round window in their rooms. "You guys wanna go to the Safari Zone immediately or enjoy the facilities around here for a bit first?"

Val just... she doesn't really get what just happened. Something about Steven winning... something. Then getting rushed off... somewhere. Some paperwork... or something. And being hustled off to a fancy resort place... apparently. Really, her head's still spinning. And, uh, where did I get this necklace from?
"Uh, Safari Zone, I think," Val says, weakly, still trying to figure out exactly what in Giratina's Void had just happened. And was still happening. Getting back to plan would be good... at least then she'll know what's going on. "Is... is this usual around here?" she ventures.

In the whirlwind of activity that follows after Steven's luck, Julie keeps right up with it, perhaps adding to the whirlwind in her excitement. She snags an extra flower necklace from the hula girl, scooping some of the confetti out of the air and throwing it into Matt's face with a laugh. She doesn't skip a beat in signing the forms, just giving them a real quick scan before giving them the old scribble. She takes full advantage of the minibar, shoving a few drinks in her pack while she has the chance so as to not waste them.
When they get to the penthouse suite, her eyes widen in awe. There's a noise that sounds somewhat between a squeal and a shriek, and then she begins running around the entire penthouse, exploring and looking at everything. "Oh my gosh guys it even has a kitchen and have you seen the rooms yet and look at this view and holy crap we have two whole floors to ourselves and the balcony is awesome and weeachhaveourownkingsizebedsandI'msurewegetroomserviceanddidyouhearaboutthefreemealsatalloftheseamazingexpensiverestaurantsthisis-" She takes a breath as Steven asks his question and then immediately continues "IT'SSOCOOLSTEVENguyswehavetotakeadvantageofeverythinganddoeverythingandohmygoshtheviewisamazingandSAFARIZONEandwehavethisplacealltoourselvesand..." this will continue until someone stops her.

Matt calmly blinks as the necklace is placed around his neck, though he wasn't quite sure how to react when Julie threw extra confetti in his face. When a contract is placed in front of him, he attempts to read it for a moment, before scratching his head and just signing, trusting nothing would go wrong.
Finally, when they reach the room, he shakes his head at Val "I don't think this is a common thing, no. Steven just got lucky and it paid off for all of us." He then looked over at Steven and shrugged "I'd rather go sooner than later. Because I DO want to hit up the Battle Park at some point"
He then looked over, placed his hand on Julies shoulder and looked at her "Breathe Julie, breathe. I don't speak whatever language you were just now, though I think I made out 'Safari Zone' at some point"

Julie takes a deep breath, shaking a little bit from lack of oxygen, and slowly tries to compose herself. After a few deep breaths, she blinks a few times and looks down at Matt's hand on her shoulder. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal, but because she had already been so worked worked up from before, a red glow begins to fill her cheeks. Not wanting Matt to see this, she quickly (and totally smoothly) resumes freaking out. "Right, Safari zone! There's so many capture techniques that I want to practice and see if I can get used to, and a place where they'll give free pokeballs to practice with! And maybe we'll find cool pokemon, or rare items or maybewecouldevenfindsomethinglikeavulpixoragrowlitheorponytaor..." And so it begins again.

With your hearts set on the Safari Zone, it didn't take long to get there. The same limousine driver, a dapper, older gentleman was waiting for you, and happy to drive you over to the entrance to that section of the park and await your return. His name, as he introduced himself to you, was Thaddeus Crane, and he was every bit the proper gentleman.
When you arrived at the Safari Zone, you were able to enter the express line and skip over all of the other park goers. At the counter, you were asked to present your gym badges, or your pokedex with a valid Trainer ID. As you waited for your ID's to be scanned, you could see that the Safari Zone was broken up into subzones, each with a different set of rules. The White Zone was for trainers with 0-2 badges, trainer pokemon were allowed, and the area was closed after dark. The Green Zone was designated for trainers with 3-5 badges, and trainer pokemon were not allowed. Likewise, the area was closed after dark. The Red Zone was reserved for trainers with 6-8 badges. Trainer Pokemon were not permitted, but this area was open to eligible trainers after dark. The last zone, the Orange Zone, was reserved for Champions, Gym Leaders, Elite Four members, and their guests only, with all other restrictions being waived.
"Alright ladies and gentlemen, you are all cleared for the White Zone. Trainer pokemon are optional, so don't be afraid to use them if you get in over your head, and the park closes one hour before sun down. These wrist bands will allow you to leave or return at any point today. Here are your Safari Balls," he said, handing out four wristbands, eight pieces of Bait, and 15 Safari Balls per person.
"Have a good time, and happy hunting!," he said as the door to the White Zone opened, waving them through.
Inside the gate, the area was very reminiscent of a Savannah. It was wild, untamed, with the sounds of many different types of pokemon off in the distance...and the occasional sound of trainers, too. Fortunately it wasn't too crowded right now, at least where you were. There were no foot paths to follow--only your eyes, survival skills, and gut instincts to be your guide.

Val feels a little uncomfortable at everything that's just happened. She's not used to special treatment or anything. Usually quite the opposite, in fact. She certainly doesn't feel like she deserves this. The fact that she was able to get out of the snow was enough of a gift as far as she was concerned.
Finally speaking again after entering the Zone (the others had certainly said enough words to account for her part), Val ventures, "So, uh, do we want to stick together, or split up? Safety in numbers, but, then again... more people might scare off the more skittish Pokémon."

Matt was oblivious to Julies blushing, scratching the back of his head when she began again "Yeah, maybe we'll see somethin like that"
Once they made it to the Safari Zone he bit his lip a bit at Val's question "That's a good point, about us making more noise as a group. How about we go in pairs. I'll stick with Julie and then you and Steven can stay together. We can meet back up here in like an hour or so. How does that sound?"

Steven thinks for a bit about Matt's suggestion, before frowning slightly and shaking his head. "Something tells me that isn't too good an idea, really... better to stick together, strength in numbers and all."

The ride to the safari zone served to help calm Julie down slightly, her rate of speech slowing down to one more normal, although still slightly fast. The rest of the party would be able to know this, because she was talking the entire time. The chatterbox switch had been turned on. Eventually, they would be granted a slight amount of relief by her having to shut up in order to listen to the safari zone explanation. As they enter the zone she looks around excitedly, doing her now standard bouncing up and down in excitement. There had to be some many things around here to catch!
At Matt's comment about splitting the party, Julie immediately has to catch herself from interjecting with a loud noise of agreement. Think Julie, think. You have a habit of getting overexcited, and a lot of things have happened today and there's two rather attractive boys in the party and you're read about psychological phenomena once or twice so you probably shouldn't split up and maybe you should try and hang with Val a little bit more yeah that would be a good idea right oh wait breeeeeeeeeeeeeathe. She eventually manages to compose herself well enough. "I think we should stick together for now. Can always split up later if we feel like it, but this way none of us will get too lost from each other."

With the group deciding to stay together, for the moment at least, the four of you begin to make your way into the Safari Zone. Aso you enter the first patch of tall grass, you realize that it's not quite as tall as it looked. It's actually a hill. Cresting the hill, you see the land laid out before you.
The hill you are atop abruptly ends with a cliff and a fifty foot drop, though there are clearly gentler paths down to either side--and you certainly want to go down. Before you lies a valley that is a veritable savanna. You can see some rock outcroppings in the distance with black figures moving atop them, far too distant to identify, and herds of pokemon travelling across the plains. From your vantage point you can see a far larger cliff opposite you, a significant ways off, with a waterfall running down its face. The water pools below it, forming a river and flowing into a large lake where many pokemon seem to be congregating. The view from where you stand is clearly breathtaking, almost as if the whole thing was engineered to be so.
Your basking in the moment is interrupted, however, by a series of loud squawks coming from nearby. A quartet of flying-type pokemon seems to have claimed this cliffside, and are none too happy about your presence. Their squawking intensifies, and they begin flapping their wings at you, clearly aggressive. How do you respond?

Steven is, or rather, was enjoying the view when a bunch of angry squawks distracting. Looking over, he spots a group of birds, some Pidgey, a Pidove and a Starly, approaching, squawking and flapping their wings at them. "Looks like we got visitors, fellas. Seems like some birdbrains don'tlike us hanging out on their turf." As he's speaking, he tries to gauge something more from the birds' behaviour, desperately trying to come up wiht a plan. It wasn't like he was worried as such, but more that he didn't want to resort to violence if he could help it. Intuition: 16

"Is there anyone who wants to try and catch one of them?" Val asks, looking around. The birds didn't really catch her interest. Fairly flighty, and the ones that she'd seen tended to rely more on speed than power. "If so, I'll gladly take this challenge, but if not, our time's probably better spent elsewhere. We don't have forever, after all." Pokémon Edu: 9
