The four of you stand inside a minimally furnished room. The room is designed for function, not extravagance. There are two doors, the one you entered, ad the one opposite you that explicitly says "Do Not Enter". You are left waiting for minutes, that seem like hours. After 3 minutes, an older man walks in through the opposite door and takes a seat at his desk. He is in his late 30s, early 40s. He has a bushy mustache, brown hair with the occasional streak of gray highlights. He looks over a set of papers he brought with him, and looks up to the 4 of you after clearing his thoat.
So, you are the rag-tag group that HR seems to be best suited to join our company...we will see how well you fare. You know that we take various goods; including berries, plants, survival gear, among other items to places and people in need that are in the snow covered, treacherous lands of Northern Sinnoh. We pay you a flat amount, based on distance traveled, as well as a percentage of what our company makes from the delivery. No job you take on will be easy or routine, but our work here is important to all that take up business with us.
He takes a sup of water, and continues on.
We like to think that our company, offers the best compensation, and job advancement compared to our main competitors at Pokémon Drop-off Associated. I urge you to go in the next room, and check out the good we have to offer. They will help you on your first job, which I will go into further detail once you seem ready for travel
You head into the next room beyond the "Do Not Enter" sign, and see a set of stairs heading down. You travel down the winding stairs, and reach the bottom after 30 or so feet. Inside the door at the bottom, you see two things: a GIGANTIC warehouse, as well as a woman behind a counter. She looks up to you,
Hello, my name is Pippa, and I run the warehouse. Here is where you can purchase, and pick-up any gear you may want to use for jobs we take, as well as where you can store any pokémon you have, as well as use our healing center to heal them should they require it. We still charge you, but not nearly as much should you use a pokécenter outside the company. Any questions?

Thin-framed with unkempt, blue hair Ian follows the group along as they are briefed and then informed of their new central location for operations; more-or-less. Carrying a rather stocky backpack, looking over at the others, the one that intrigued him the most was the tanned girl. Ian hadn't been to the southern regions yet and hasn't been in contact with a lot of those from that region so it came to no surprise to him that he would find her a peculiarity, but nothing more.
As the woman behind the desk informed them of their items, discounts and services, Ian would speak in-turn with a lax tone, "I've got everything I need." He had his camping supplies, his Pokemon, his portable grower (though he would get another when funds allowed), his water filter, his rope, his pokedex, and extra poke balls in case he came across something he wanted to catch.
As he waited for the others to get whatever they needed, he was ready to begin their journey and would idly look around at the items at a distance for a little while.

Regina walks up to Pippa and shakes her hand. "Hi Pippa, I'm Regina, but you can call me Regi. I'll go take a look around to see if I there is anything left I might need. See you in a moment!"
She walks towards one of the computers to take a look at the items on sale.
"Hmmm, I think I have everything I need already." *She smiles to Pippa and afterwards looks to the rest of the team* "Do you guys need anything else or are we ready to go? Can't wait to get this party started!"
*She says all this while being far too excited*

Quinton walks along in the middle of the group down to the warehouse and when they arrived he split off slightly to see what was on offer to them while keeping listening to the woman's explanation "I don't need anything, I've already got all I need right now in my pack" Quinton says in reply to Regina's question indicating with with his head the pack on his back.

Digger, standing near the back of the group, raises his hand. He awkwardly makes his way to the teller with a small piece of paper. On it is scrawled in chicken scratch a concise list of items. 50 feet of rope. 2 potions. Case of 30 meal bars. Water pills. The list goes on, but the teller swiftly gathers his items and he quickly exchanges his cash for the items.
Digger deftly put the supplies onto his bag. It was clear that this was not his first adventure as Digger had a place for every item. When he was finished the once near empty bag was completely full.
"Sorry if I seem unprepared, but I came straight from a dig. I barely made it here. I'm honestly just glad I made it." Despite the fact that Digger is rugged looking with muscular arms, sharp eyes, and long brown hair, his pale skin and nervous demeanor give you the impression that he isn't exactly a socialite.

Pippa does indeed leave, and very efficiently gathers all that is on Digger's list. A few minutes later, she is finished, and smiles at Digger. Come back any time hun. We keep changing my our inventory and depending on how good you do, you may get bonuses. Take care kids.
You gather up yourselves and your goods. You hear the same man you spoke to upstairs.
When you kids are ready, over this way You see him standing next to a door, that was very well hidden. You walked by it...you think.
You head into the side room. This one is lightly furnished. A table lies in the middle of the room, a map lies on top the table. A handful of chairs surround the table, with a large scale map of Sinnoh is pinned to the opposite wall you walked in from. Your boss stands in front of the large map.
Ready for your first mission, you better be. Our method is "trial by fire". We have been contacted by a city, a weeks travel from our home base here. They have ordered 3 berry plants, as well as basic grow pod. The harsh snow killed off half of their berry plants, and they need these in order to try and survive the upcoming winter storms. We will pay you a total of 1000 P¥ each. 25 for the 14 day round-trip and 650 for the % cut we make. The route will be uploaded to your dex. You leave tomorrow

Glancing over at the other member that had ordered items, he found his mannerisms a little odd, but friendly. As the older man motioned for them to go to him and give the details on their operation, it was clear they would be on their own. It was unsettling that he would be going out in the cold without his father or the bodyguard; just him, these three companions and their pokemon. Yes, it would be thanks to Torchic and Turtwig that he and them would make it through this just fine. Ian was no longer the little boy who gazed in wander at the science his father did. It was his turn to brave the wilderness and find out things for himself; there wasn't going to always be people to protect him.
After having his inner monologue, he looked to the others, "How about we get to know a little about each other to see what each of us brings to the table. I'm Ian and I study plants and weather. I'm a little accustomed to the harsher weather and, though I'm not trained to fight, I can...um...what's a good word to describe it...get bigger?" Unable to find a decent word to describe what occurs without feeling the slightest tinge of embarrassment, he settles on 'getting bigger'. He wanted people to know about it so they can take it into consideration for their planning; assuming they're planning that far ahead or if it was just him. In either case, he would let them either accept it as it is or drop it entirely.
"Anyway, it's nice to meet you all."

Although Digger's used to side passages and secret paths, this one suprised him. He wandered in next to his new companions and smiled. ”Names Digger. I’m a Paleontologist. This is actually the first job I’ve had above ground in years! He said, grinning, not aware of the joke he had made.

Hearing the old man they'd met upstairs call the group through a door that might have been there if he'd looked hard enough. Once he had passed through the door Quinton went to stand to the right of the table. Once the mission had been explained
"Since we're doing introductions and all my name's Quinton Leary, I specialize in Steel-type Pokemon, and am trained to fight" Quinton replies to Ian's question

"And I'm Regina, but you can all call me Regi. I used to be a reporter for a newspaper, but got kind of bored there. So I decided to quit it for a while. I stumbled upon this job by chance and thought, why not?, it's different, it's adventurous, and I'll be able to help other people this way!" She smiles while saying that last part. She also seems to have gotten control over herself again "Also, I can write an article about the hardships of this job, so people will appreciate it more.

As Ian listened to the others talk, he watched them carefully. So a paleontologist, a steel-based fighter and a journalist. An interesting group to work with. He wasn't sure if things were gonna go as smoothly as it did with his bodyguard, but they seemed to be more entertaining then listening to a grown man grunt and flex his muscles in the background when you're trying to conduct research. Quinton might do the same, but at least it's someone a lot closer to his age. There was just something with the tone and pitch of that man's voice that just irked him a little, but those times were over.
"If none has anything else they want to talk about or need me for, I'll be looking deeper into the path we'll be taking." Unless someone interjects with a topic of discussion or wants his attention specifically, he will return to the map the older man had combined with their pokedex for information and look into the path they were going to take.
Sure, knowing the path to get to your destination is good to have, but what about if things go horribly wrong? Your backpack's stolen with all your supplies? What if an Ursaring came by and ate all our food? What if a blizzard sets in; where would they take shelter? The key to survival was planning. He had some food on him, such as his portable grower and candy bars, but he would prefer to rely on the environment, if possible, for food and shelter. In grasslands and forests, there may be edible berries, fruits or wild vegetables that they could come across for nourishment. In the frozen north, knowing any form of cave or dwelling that could act as an impromptu shelter would be crucial if hit by a blizzard. It wouldn't bother him too much, but the others may not be as tolerant.

Regina looks at her teammates and asks them the following question: "So, why did you guys decide to join the PDI?" She flashes one of her warm smiles again. "I'm really interested in getting to know a bit more about you."

Listening to Regi inquire further, he would respond accordingly, "I joined the PDI to both help people and, hopefully, get information on the cause of the changing climate we are seeing spreading from the north and fix it. My father's conducting his own research on it and I'll do mine." As he speaks, his relaxed tone shifts to a more disciplined disposition. Even though he's a kid, he takes his research seriously and when it comes to the changing climate ordeal, he is determined to find a reason for it and change it back in any way he can.
The girl's interest in the group could be summed up as background information for her reports; at least that's what he believed. With the problem needing solved in her story and his declaration of intent, it would seem pretty close to Ian being a main character of the story. A coy grin forms on his face as the fantasy lingers a bit; the thought being unexpectedly intriguing. After a few moments pass, he returns to his gentle facade and listens to the others.

"Me? I joined up with PDI to help people get the supplies to keep their lives running smoothly" Quinton says giving Regina a nod. "Back home my family's been kept busy helping the road out of town clear of snow. Hopefully the weather doesn't worsen too quickly"
When he'd finished talking Quinton leaned forward on the table's edge a slightly worried look to his face which soon faded as he listened to the rest answer Regina's question.

The boss looks at you before you go, One more thing, you are each given an account from the moment you signed the form to work for us. You will be given roughly 1/3 of your earnings in the account before departure, and the other 2/3rd after the client has confirmed they have received their order. Most of the cities, including the one you will be traveling to are small. They may not have much goods to part with, but you are always welcome to purchase goods for your return trip should you need them. Travel fast, and above all else safely
You head out, and sleep before you head out to the city for delivery. Your group makes good time. The first 2 days, goes by smoothly. The land is flat, a few hills here and there to navigate. The weather is cooperative, but Ian warns you that it could change at any given moment. day three, gets a little harrier, as the snow drift get a little bigger and thicker as you progress at a steady incline. You are not too high as to have to worry about oxygenation, or your health, but you can tell the temperature has dropped a few degrees as the elevation climbs.
It is about midday, the sun randomly peeks through the overcast sky.
Perception checks please, DC 14 Please select a pokémon, if any you would like out during your travels

"...Anyway, everyone made it out fine, and the Gravelers left us alone for the rest of the dig. But now that the dig is over, it'll be months, maybe even a year before my dad can get another dig grant. So I found a job. Plus, this one lets me help people! Which is a huge plus for me." Digger had been rattling on for a while now, telling stories of old digs with his dad. He loved to reminisce, and was excited that the others seemed willing enough to listen. His fathers colleagues all work in the field so his stories usually fell flat. But in a group on non-paleontologists they seemed to go over much better. He smiled as he walked and enjoyed the fresh air. Digger had always enjoyed the outdoors. The air was brisk, but his Litwick "Guy" stays close to his side, helping keep him from the cold.

Walking with the group as they make their way to the destination, everything seems to be going well. Torchic is happily scooting alongside him during their adventure, much like during the last field study. Leading the others on the path, as the colder air starts to settle in, an unsettling sensation begins to surface as concern for the others during this trip rises; along with himself, but at a much lower degree.

Everyone is walking along, Ian has a momentary thought of trouble, but it fades just as quick. Digger is walking along, when his Litwick stops in its tracks, almost tripping its trainer as he walks along aimlessly. Its light flickers atop its head, trying to get the attention of its trainer along the others traveling with Digger. Off in the distance, it can see 3 figures, buried in the snow. They appear to be hiding, or at least attempting to.
