By dint of taking place while most other people are getting their Pokemon healed, due to a lack of capacity in the healing machine, your battle for third place attracts a slightly larger crowd than might have otherwise been expected.

Isabella's still smarting from her loss to Oscar, even if her Pokémon are healed up. Getting stomped two matches in a row hasn't done much for her ego - even if she won her first match, it was a near thing despite having numbers on her side.
"Okay, let's get things rolling. Prickles, go!" Cue one Zigzagoon, who has his own ego to avenge, too.
Sibyl stretches her arms out in front of her as she strides onto the battlefield again. She'd been looking forward to facing off against one of her teammates: it should be very interesting. For this match though, she changes it up a little. Because why not.
She tosses out her Pokeball as she starts off sending out Petilil - who likewise is probably out for redemption too, after a somewhat underwhelming performance earlier...
"Alright, lets go! You can do this, Paddy! Oh, and good luck, Iz!"
Sibyl replies a little bit condescendingly, "Aww, come on. Its just playoffs but it still counts!" To be honest however, she hadn't forgotten her prior loss, but in her mind, it happens. She'd since decided she wouldn't let that get in the way of enjoying the battle.
Paddy meanwhile looks confusedly at Prickles' display, losing her focus on the battle. Sibyl briefly looks mildly annoyed at Paddy, but doesn't pay it much mind after a few seconds. "Never mind it, just go get him Paddy!" She shouts.
Sibyl's eyes follow Paddy as she flies away from the impact of Prickle's Tackle, looking a little concerned. She doesn't sound like it though, as she first takes the time to respond to Isabella: "Yeah I know the feeling, I mean, there was that Munchlax too! It even hits Ghosts!" She shrugs. "Maybe he can tell us some secrets..." referring to Oscar, as she trails away to continue with the battle. "Right, OK Paddy, at least we got some space to move away! Keep the Absorbing up!"

"Heh, maybe he can - look out, Prickles!" Isabella sighs in relief as he dodges the Absorb attack. "Okay, buddy, don't let her get away! Tackle her again!"
Prickles closes the distance quickly, ramming into Paddy again. Isabella's luck finally seems to be turning a little. She'd vary her technique a bit more, except that Tackle is... really the only damaging move Prickles knows.
Sibyl looks like she's going to continue the chat, but her face tightens up a little as Prickles avoids the Absorb. Looks like their edge is gone. This brought back the bad memories from before. She decides to take a gamble, to keep Petilil in the game for longer. As long as it works, that is. She shouts, "Lets take back the flow Paddy! Use Sleep Powder!", as Paddy unleashes a cloud of dust in Prickle's general direction.

Oh, that's not good at all. Apart from a couple of brief brushes with confusion, Isabella hasn't had an opponent try and turn her status effect ace in the hole around on her yet. Prickles just barely fails to get out of the way of the powder, and his head droops until he's sprawled out on the ground, fast asleep.
She's beginning to wish she'd led with Chouette this time. Chouette would have shrugged off the sleep and would have an advantageous matchup against Paddy even with her lackluster defenses. As it is, all she can do is shout for Prickles - running onto the field to shake him awake would be against the rules. "C'mon, Prickles, are you going to let a little dust get you down? You've got this! C'mon, just wake up..."
Luckily, her calling works, and Prickles blinks awake again, shaking his head sleepily - but they've lost their chance to do anything before Paddy can attack again. "Yeah! We're still in this!"
Sibyl clicks her tongue in annoyance. She'd been hoping that Prickles didn't wake up straight away. This wasn't the situation she wanted, but she decided to press ahead with stage 2 regardless. It was a significantly less ideal circumstance for it, but those were the breaks. "Just follow up with Leech Seed, Paddy! Don't worry!"
Post by carnackiArdent on Oct 28, 2016 19:09:19 GMT
Prickles shakes his snout but can't dislodge Paddy's seeds. He whines a little as they start draining him. That's not ideal, but Isabella's pretty sure she can bring Paddy down before the Leech Seed does too much damage. "Okay, looks like we need to finish this quick! Hang in there, Prickles, we can do it! Another Tackle!"
Evidently heartened by Isabella's encouragement, Prickles lowers his spiky head and charges with a low snarl, putting his full weight into the tackle.
Sibyl stares in astonishment as Prickles charges into Paddy with such great ferocity she nearly felt it too. It's such that the only thing she can say is, "Uh...? Are... are you alright?", looking extremely concerned. Somehow, the little plant picks herself up, and stares back at Prickles, though backing away. "Nice one Paddy! Just keep at it!", Sibyl crows at Paddy's tenacity as she lets loose another blast of absorbing energy.
Post by carnackiArdent on Oct 29, 2016 4:16:50 GMT
For a moment there, Isabella thinks that powerful charge has taken Paddy down - but then she rallies and starts draining away at Prickles' energy again. And draining... And draining...
After a long, tense moment, Prickles wobbles and falls. Isabella breathes out a heavy sigh as she recalls him, swapping Poké Balls in a deft motion. "All right, Chouette! Let's see if you can turn things around! Hypnosis!"
Chouette twirls in the air with a trilling hoot before fixing her gaze on Paddy, her eyes glowing hypnotically.
Sibyl can scarcely believe that Paddy not only just hung on from such a ferocious blow, but managed to land one of her own which then took out the opposing Prickles, causing her to erupt in a cheer, yelling, "You did it Paddy! You're so amazing!", and jumps up and down on the spot briefly before collecting herself: she'd nearly lost control and ran out to hug Paddy. She doesn't pay mind to her opponent at all during the celebration.
As Chouette hits the field, Sibyl's mood wears off more or less entirely as Paddy falls easily to her hypnotic stare, falling asleep making quiet sleeping sounds. Maybe because Paddy's so tired out already. Turnabout's fair play though, Sibyl thought. In any case, she simply countinues yelling at Paddy, "Come on, you just shook off way worse!" ... to no avail.
Post by carnackiArdent on Oct 30, 2016 3:07:59 GMT
"Yes!" Isabella grins as Chouette manages to lull Paddy to sleep - and then Paddy stays asleep despite Sibyl's yelling. "Nice going, Chouette! Now hit her with a Peck attack!"
Privately, Isabella really can't wait until Chouette learns some more energetic attacks and doesn't have to rely on her lackluster brute strength. Or at least works up a few more unusual moves so she can actually accomplish more during her opponents' slumber than just getting in one attack while their guard is down - she could Growl, Isabella supposes, but against Paddy there's little point to that.
But until Chouette picks up some more tricks, it's all academic, so Isabella just watches as Chouette swoops in to go after Paddy with her beak.
Sibyl frowns intensely as Chouette charges into Paddy: free hits against you aren't good. Regardless, thanks to the attack, Paddy wakes up, looking annoyed at the interruption to its quick nap. Sibyl decides the Absorb is probably not the best option right now, given the type matchup. It was a little sad a straight charge can compete with that attack, but that was all they had at this point.
"Stay sharp, though you just got up! Smack 'em in the face!", she shouts as Paddy lunges in Chouette's general direction.
Post by carnackiArdent on Nov 2, 2016 21:42:51 GMT
Chouette flutters upward briefly, evading Paddy's strike. She gives Paddy a disapproving look over the glasses Isabella gave her.
Isabella is frankly amazed that Paddy is still upright. She's not sure whether that says more about Chouette's lack of physical power or Paddy's sheer toughness. "Come on, we've almost got her! Give her a Tackle, Chouette!" Chouette drops down at an angle, driving her wide foot toward Paddy.
Paddy takes the solid hit from Chouette, attempts to fight it off one last time, but its clearly too much. Paddy keels over, but Sibyl doesn't really mind. She's put up a fantastic fight, and Sibyl's happy to give her a rest. "Alright Paddy, well done! Take a break, you really earned it!", she calls with a smile. To be honest, she was also a little worried at a punishment Paddy took, but she was clearly a battler. She'd be fine.
"Alright now Miri, its up to you! Psywave!" She shouts, hurling the next Pokeball, with Miri coming out and soaring past Chouette. Miri complies with the order, letting loose a multicoloured wavy blast of pink-purpleish psychic energy at Chouette.
Post by carnackiArdent on Nov 4, 2016 16:25:54 GMT
Chouette manages to dive out of the way of the wave of energy, missing getting hit by a narrow margin. Isabella has to admit, she was holding her breath there for a moment - if Psywave had gotten a lucky hit in it might have been all over before it began.
But she knows how to deal with Ghost-types. "Chouette, keep her in your sights! Foresight!" A beam of light, the same red as the Hoothoot's eyes, lances out, zeroing in on Miri. As tricky as Ghost-types can be, there's no escape from Chouette's gaze now. "Now Tackle! Take her down!" And Chouette hurls herself at Miri.
Chouette: Swift: Foresight (for the rest of the turn, Chouette's Normal and Fighting moves can hit Ghost-types) Standard: use Tackle on Miri AC vs 2: 10 Damage: 18 Physical Normal damage; on hit, Miri is Pushed 2 meters

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.
Dec 2, 2019 19:05:30 GMT
but how else do i find games then?

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
