Adventure Thread - Group A

Rei wakes to find that Zumu had found some sort of teaching tome.

"Zumu I'm fairly certain you are just stealing at this point! Who would just leave this stuff?"

Zumu continues to insist he just found it all, which Rei doesn't have a reason not to believe, so she just inspects it.

Interesting. It teaches a pokemon move...

Rei pockets it before writing up a few more tags before going to change. When she gets out, she looks to Tiki.

"Did you sleep well?"

Clay is a bit sad that he's stopped just cuddling up in a big pile with all his Pokémon, but there's really too many of them to do it anymore. Besides, Sandy kinda slimes up the bed sometimes, he's still picking wax off the bedpost even after he stopped having Flower out overnight after the first day or two, and he's not sure he wants to even try with Missile's jagged scales, even assuming Missile would be comfortable sleeping in a bed out of water. Or wouldn't gnaw on him in his sleep.

So he wakes up with just Fan and, thanks to his performance yesterday, Baloo snuggled up to him. He's feeling a lot less stressed out than he has the past couple of days. "Think our luck might be turning around, guys! Time to get training! We've only got a week 'til we have to impress the boss lady!" Yes, he's going to continue calling Ashandra "boss lady", even if not to her face. In his defense, it's easier to pronounce.

Training time goes pretty well, and Clay's eager to join in with regained enthusiasm. He has Fan sparring with a serenely floating Flower while he runs along with Red Child through an agility routine, then back to Flower to try and get her moving a little quicker. She's fragile enough that she needs to be much quicker off the mark than she is. Sandy and Missile get to spar underwater in a nearby pond, taking it easier today - and Baloo lazes on the bank. Fan rambles off on a foraging expedition and emerges with a blue-and-green Berry. Nothing quite as phenomenal as what she's come up with before, but hey, not every day you find amazingly valuable stuff lying around on the ground. He's pretty satisfied with their progress when they turn to head inside. Time to meet up with the others for breakfast - as always, training works up an appetite!

If the others don't beat him to the cafeteria, they'll find Clay involved as usual in sharing a massive plate of food with his Pokémon. Missile turns out to like crunchy meat, to the surprise of absolutely no one who's seen a Carvanha's mouth. "Morning, guys! Any plans today?"

Tiki gets dressed, and heads out to train as well. She eventually makes her way to the mess hall after more routine rehearsal. She waves at Clay, and stuffs her mouth with biscuits. "Hiya, Clay."

"Sounds good! I might see if I can find Ashley and pick up some, uh.. tips! That's the word. On training, I mean. She's been here a year, she's gotta have some tricks. Maybe help smooth things over, too, I beat her on the first day and I think she took losing to a new guy kinda hard."

He lowers his voice conspiratorially. "Have you guys thought about the thing with the Zangoose any?"

Tiki frowns, and looks down. She shrugs. "I don't know...Perhaps we'll get called on for more info, but as for doing more..."

Rei gives Clay a hint of the stern look from before.

"I mean Clay, surely yes, if by 'accident' or not, we could run into them, but trouble with the guild is less what I'm worried about."

"Look, I know it's dangerous. I'm not that dumb. But if we're all together, and the Zangoose are there, and they're not expecting us..." Clay sighs and runs a hand through his shaggy hair. "This isn't the desperate thing from yesterday, I promise. I just wanna help. Who knows if the guild will decide on anything before the first raid? And even if they do, it's not like the Zangoose will know they're there to help. If they cared that much about telling humans apart they wouldn't have been attacking travelers to start with."

"Nah, they said 'deal with the first attack', didn't they? Unless the poachers hit them while we were in Cerulean..." Which is a possibility he doesn't really want to contemplate.

He makes a frustrated noise. "I know she means well, but I mean, we're not just kids. Some of the guys my age in the troop had already evolved. ... When do humans evolve anyway?"
