Adventure Thread - Group A

Tiki looks around to take in the familiar guild's surroundings. She then looks to Clay. "Um. I'll come along with you. Investigating that alone is dangerous. Where did you say it was?"

Clay and Tiki find the door in question easily enough. It's even unlocked, strangely enough. That probably means one of two things: 1) They left nothing useful behind and have abandoned the Guild Hall (which kinda renders all the defenses put up by the other branches moot) or 2) they're expecting someone to come by and are waiting to ambush them. Luckily for the two teens, nothing jumps out at them immediately. The main room seems darker than before, but it's not like Clay ever actually entered Dark Branch previously.

"I mean, I guess if you left the lights on when you left they might start a fire? Master Nob always told me to put the candles out when I left a room. But I can do something, sure... Hey, sis!"

He calls out Fan, and she holds her head up as high as she can, letting the flames she's crowned with cast their light around the room. Clay never did bother carrying a flint. "Maybe there's a lamp around here somewhere we can use. Or I guess they might just let their Pokémon navigate for 'em."

He looks around the front room cautiously, now that Fan's fire is lighting it up at least a bit. "Let's see if we can find anything important. Let me know if you see anything weird, sis," he adds in monkey-talk. "Like, papers or anything."

The main room doesn't seem to have anything noteworthy, except for a seemingly inexplicable lack of dust; though that may be explained by unaligned Guild Workers who just clean everything because it's their job. In fact, that's probably what's going on there.

There are both male and female dorms in the Dark Branch, like with most others, though the female dorm seems to have seen quite a bit more use than the male, if the latter had any use at all. The sheets on beds in the male dorms are turned down like they've been freshly made, but show no signs of wear like the ones in the female dorm. It also appears that the secretive Dark Branch had a lot more members than Clay & Co were aware of, as at least half of the two dozen or so rooms in the female dorm appear to have been lived in. There is otherwise nothing of real note within the regular dorms.

Much like with the Fire Branch, there are 'officer' dorms in the Dark Branch. It's in this area that you'll have the best luck find something, if indeed there is something to find. It's doubtful that D'Mara left anything, but it can't hurt to check. Outside of D'Mara's office is a lovely plant. It's a faintly glowing fern plant. Weird thing to have outside of your office, but not especially noteworthy. The office door, is, as one might expect, locked.

Clay has, in fact, not seen this sort of plant before. Not in the mountains or the swamp. In fact, Clay can't ever recall seeing a glowing plant before. It just seems to be naturally glowing. There otherwise seems to be nothing spectacular about it. It's just a glowing fern. Though Clay could have sworn that he heard something humming or chiming a moment ago. Could...the plant be making noise?!

"Yeah, I think it's just a decoration you can actually see. But... hm."

Clay cocks his head, straining to hear the noise again. "You've got better ears than me. Can you hear kind of a humming sound?"

Tiki does here a faint humming/chiming sound coming from the plant. It's just a constant, if faint, noise. How odd. A plant that both glows in the dark and makes noise! One wonders where D'Mara got it from.

When Tiki touches the plant, nothing happens. When she tries to pluck off a leaf, something suddenly jabs her hand. Examining it, there is a small spine sticking out of the side of her hand that wasn't there before. At first, it's just a minor pain. Then, she begins to feel woozy and her legs buckle beneath her. Welp. Time to say 'goodnight' Tiki!

"Oh, great." Clay catches Tiki before her head gets the ground, but now he's got a poisoned friend and a still-locked door. "Well, I thought we were on to something here, but I guess it was just kinda bait. Great."

He looks from Tiki to the door with a sigh and pretty much starts talking to her out loud. "Guess all we can do is break the door down. But if you don't wake up in a couple minutes I'm gonna run you to the infirmary first. Hope somebody's still there. The healers are pretty dedicated, there's probably somebody there still."

He'll wait for a moment to see if she's going to be anything more than just woozy before proceeding.
