Clay grinds his teeth, but he lets the point drop. There's not much to say that wouldn't just be repeating himself. Or insulting Rei, and as frustrated as he is he's pretty sure that won't help. "Fine. So the plan is Tiki and I go back to Saffron and you and Holly do... whatever you're doing, then? Is that okay with everybody?"
He's assuming Holly is sticking to Rei like glue. He sure hopes she is. It'd be a shame for Rei to be so paranoid about Saffron and then get jumped in Celadon while she was isolated.

"Mhm." Tiki gets up, and heads for the exit. "I'm stopping by the mansion to grab some supplies. I'll meet you by the gates, so we can get going."

Clay runs a hand through his hair one more time. "Okay, meet at the east road, got it."
He glances back at Lady Sorra. "So I guess you've heard the plan. As much of one as we've got anyway. I guess the only thing I can ask is whether you have any advice." Because he can't really say You were mentoring Rei, tell her she's not helping.

At this point Rei is clear on that she's just upsetting everyone. Time to leave. Rei walks out, hopefully with Holly in tow.

Holly silently follows Rei after giving Clay an apologetic look. She's not sure why Rei feels like she has to do everything "alone" (because Holly is a huge help, right?), but she's learned that there is really no reasoning with Rei on this.

Rei leaves in a huff. Clay's not wrong, but at this point she can't tell him what she's really up to. And she still has work here in Celadon. D'mara must have something where she lives and it must be nearby, she being the Queen's aide at one point. There's got to be a way she can inquire about her location, especially being even deeper in the city now. There must be somewhere for public records of that sort of thing...

Tiki takes off without much more to say. The meeting was awkward, nothing got accomplished, and that seemed par for the course. Tiki headed on back to the mansion to assemble her team of pokemon, and she made her way to the east road. She waited outside the town while on top of her Tauros until Clay arrived. This was probably going to be dangerous, but letting Clay go alone would be really bad.

Rei is silent as she and Holly go through the city. The meeting really only upset her, and even Sorra, her branch leader, had nothing to say. She searches for a while, but really doesn't know where to start searching for a clue as to where D'mara held up in the city. After just walking and wracking her brain for a while, she finds herself just walking in circles. It's clear she's not going to find something public to get said info. She needs something to distract herself.
...Wasn't there supposed to be a basement to the castle filled with occultish pokemon? Didn't that woman with the golem get it from there? Rei decides maybe it's worth checking out and starts looking.

Clay grumbles quietly to Fan as he makes sure he has things ready for heading back into Saffron. He's still not actually convinced that going to Saffron is any more dangerous than anywhere else, except maybe that D'mara knows they've been there before. Maybe they'll learn different once they get there, but if D'mara's turned the whole city into trouble you'd think they'd have heard it somehow.
He guesses he can't blame Rei for being afraid, but it's getting in the way of their only solid idea for getting more information - and if Rei has a better one he wishes she would share it so they could help.
He meets Tiki at the gate and mounts up on Red Child. "Okay, so do you have anything you wanna do in the city? I want to look around and see if anybody knows anything about what's going on... ask Ashandra about the orange thing, and maybe visit Master Nob, too. I know you said you were headed out to train on the plains... anything else you want to do?"

Tiki shakes her head. "I really don't got any business at the guild. I'll probably just have a look around for a bit. I'm mostly there for strength in numbers. Just in case something does happen. I'll then head out to the plains when I'm ready."

Tiki shrugs. "I don't care what she does. In my opinion, she's as much of a problem as the dark branch." Tiki looks through her old book that she borrowed from the mansion's library. She looks through it for a picture of what they are looking for.

Clay's admittedly sparse description still manages to sort-of match only one creature in the book. A Mythical Creature called "Victini, the Victory Pokemon".

"Yeah, but it's a different kind of problem." Clay waves a hand vaguely. "Like, the Dark Branch are actually working against us, but they're being controlled. Ashandra's got the same goal as us, but she could screw us up accidentally. Or set us on fire 'cause she's a jerk. She's not actually trying to destroy the world like D'mara. She's just kind of awful."
He sidles Red Child a little closer out of curiosity. "You find anything interesting?"

Clay squints at it. "That looks... a little bit like it. I mean, it's got pointy ears and it's orange. I guess if you never saw it yourself and just had to draw what somebody said you could get to that. It kinda explains the fire in that victory symbol, too, doesn't it?"
He straightens up, pulling Red Child back to a more comfortable distance so he's not so close to shoulder-to-shoulder with Tiki's Tauros. "Well, I guess we'll ask and see if Ashandra wants to talk about it. I also wanna see if I can figure out where Lady Anya went so I can ask her if my idea of talking back to Darkrai makes any sense at all." He frowns. "Dreaming back at the god of nightmares is probably not gonna be fun. But I wanna at least try. We know Darkrai's an ally, we just don't know how much it can do to help us besides sending warnings."

Tiki just sighs to herself, and shakes her head. She didn't want to talk these people ever again! But....Letting Clay try, and solve these problems on his own would suck. She might as well suck it up, and go along with what Clay was thinking. Hopefully she wouldn't have to deal with these people for too long. "Y-Yeah...Sure. Let's just hurry so we can do all that while it's light out." Tiki pats Toppo's sides to pick up the pace.

A few hours later, Team Cliki arrive back in Saffron. It is not only not in ruins, as they might have feared, but in fact just as lively as ever. Everyone is just going about their day, performing their daily routines. The Guild, on the other hand, seems.. empty. At least from the outside. Approaching the entrance reveals nothing out of the ordinary, so the pair head on in. Where before, one could hardly go 10 steps without bumping into someone, given this is the entrance/main hall, now it's like a ghost town. Where to first?

Tiki shifts around uneasily as seeing the guild this quiet is quite eerie. "....I guess the branches still here stick to their halls now....Perhaps we check in first with the fire branch, Clay?"
