Adventure Thread - Group A

Rei giggles a little.

"Clay you are smarter than you think. Don't beat yourself up about it. That's usually my job."

Rei chuckles (a bit sadly?).

"Fine. Fine. I get it. No more of it. I'll talk to you later."

Rei and Piesc leave, with no plans to go far or deal with anything heavy!

Rei does indeed panic as the mark begins to activate.

"No! No ple-!"

But she's interrupted as green light surrounds Laurel, and she's shocked into silence. This isn't anything she recognizes, so who heard her then? She watches, practically not breathing as if letting go of it would ruin whatever process this is.

And then... she's just teleported away.

"Wait! I-!"

But nobody is there to hear anything she has to say besides her own pokemon. Koto nuzzles close, and Piesc puts an arm on her other shoulder. Duch is flitting about, still looking for that last target, if it's even gonna show up now. Rei sits there, looking at the same spot Laurel was, for what feels like an age. She's partially shocked, partially angry, partially terrified, and partially confused. There's no one place for her mind to go. While Laurel was in pain, she had seen Laurel's knife, and a desperate thought had entered her mind to try to use her own life to leverage help but... That seemed to no longer be needed.

After a while of sitting there she knows she needs to move. She has no idea what happened to Laurel there. She has absolutely no idea what she or anyone could do to actually stand up to D'mara's power. But she knows one thing for certain. She has no way to prove D'mara is at the source of this. She 'knows' it. That inflection on Laurel's voice to threaten her (something that will probably keep Rei up at nights now) was unmistakably her. Unless someone is going fully out of their way to frame her by using Laurel to point blame at the Dark Branch.

Rei stops. Now she's even doubting herself. She needs something before D'mara just straight up attacks Saffron and the Capitol. Otherwise she can never stay a night in Saffron again. She'll never feel safe or get a good night's sleep again. She heads back to find the others first. They need to know.

Rei needs a minute to sit down and collect her thoughts. She sits on the bed, and she hasn't been to the healer so she's still covered in all sorts of physical wounds at this point. Her eyes are darting around the room, and she's wondering all that she needs to take. She can't stay here. It also means she won't be able to take everyone with her unfortunately...

Rei knows that look. That's her own. She places her hand on Holly's face and leads it back so she's looking at her.

"If everyone yells at me for stressing about protecting others, then you can't either. That's not fair. Either we both can or cannot. You couldn't have known. I didn't even realize I was leaving the city. I had stepped outside as if hypnotized somehow."

Rei takes a long breath.

"And if the implications of what just happened weren't so bad, then I might feel a bit better because I did actually win on my own..."

She takes another breath before going into all what happened. She was just in the city training, not even planning to stray far from the guild, and suddenly finding herself outside the gates facing down Laurel Regal. She seemed off, and Piesc couldn't sense her Aura as if she wasn't even there. She attacked, and they had a pitched battle. During it, Laurel seemed to gain recognition and begged for help. Something, probably D'mara, was controlling her and forcing her to try to kill Rei. And her pokemon had to go along with it, because if Laurel failed, her soul would be forfeit. So it was Rei's life or Laurel's soul. Rei's pokemon eventually won out in the end, but that meant that Laurel had lost. Rei had yelled out and begged something or someone to help her and something must have heard her because a green barrier surrounded Laurel and wisked her away.

Rei watches her for a minute before getting up. They do need to leave, but not without telling someone. Proof or not, she's not going to leave the guild without letting someone know.

"Holly, I'm going to let Anya know. I'm going to let her get everything out of my mind. That... includes you and how D'mara kidnapped you originally. It's about the only thing we've truely witnessed her do. It might be all we can do. I won't leave the guild completely in the dark. Proof or not, SOMEONE needs to know."

Rei turns to leave, and everything she has to do immediately floods her mind.

"Pack up what we can in the meantime. I think it might be time to head to Celedon. Also I need the healers."

With that, Rei leaves to quickly stop at the healers for her team and herself. Once that's done she heads to the psychic branch. Hopefully the stuff she learned from her book will prevent the entire branch from her mind, but she will let that down in front of Anya.

That's not a great sign.

Rei just has to hope that her limit lasts until AFTER she saves all of humanity. Then her body can give up. She takes the healing she can get, and she supposes that she just 'will' have to do a couple days of rest in Cerulean after she gets there. She relays that to the healers in hopes that it'll calm them down. Once she's healed up (relatively) she leaves with Holly. She looks over.

"That's not the greatest news..."

Rei weakly smiles to Holly.

"I... don't know what you could do, but thanks Holly."

She grabs her packed to the brim backpack and has some of her team grab the luggage.

"We need to talk to Clay before we go. Then we have to gather up all my pokemon and all go up north. Lets go find him. We need to let him know what happened and ask him to inform Tiki as well. Then maybe a stop and drop off all my damaged Kimonos at Jojo's to have them fixed. I'm running rather low and I don't want to have to resort to using my mother's special one."

With that, Rei leaves to find Clay. It's been a while, but maybe he's still at the smith? Rei's going to try there first.

Rei doesn't want to be rude, so she just silently enters and waits off to the side for their conversation to finish.
