After three days of being confined to headquarters, aware of being monitored, even beyond all of the questions that were asked of you, it's a relief to finally get the message to report to a briefing. When all of you have arrived there, though, you notice you aren't the only ones in the room. Though there doesn't yet appear to be anyone to conduct the briefing, the other Technicians from training are there in the room.
As you all walk in, Emily turns towards you, and says "Well, I heard that you lot managed to shut down the powder distribution, and that's why we got pulled back to base fairly quickly. Is that true? If so, that's quite impressive." Her tone doesn't quite match the words, though, with a hint of jealousy shining through.

Thoron was excited enough after having to while away time at Headquarters that Solomon's not-praise wouldn't phase him whatsoever. Especially once he learned they had outperformed the other novice group! Keeping his voice neutral, he says, "That is correct. In spite of the potent psychic powers the Scintilla distributor displayed - the reason for our brief hiatus, even - we were more than capable of permanently shutting down their production." He wondered for a moment how they had taken the order to return... hopefully with no small amount of irritation. At least it didn't seem like their team had been given a full report on what happened.

While Soleil had been fine returning to her room the first night she had been very antsy after that.
She had typically avoided sleeping in the small room and done her best to try and sleep on the floor in more open areas (like the shared area unless people bothered her).
The small area had made her antsy and she had spent most the off days testing the limits of how much of the base she could explore snapping pictures of interesting spots.
When the mission came she had skipped into the room quickly hoping to finally get to leave base. This time she was hugging her rifle extremely tightly to her. She didn't want it to be taken away again like last time.
When the other girl had made her comment Soleil grinned eager to try and one up the other group and agitate the Emily girl.
"Yep! We were pretty awesome! But it wasn't that big a deal to be honest. I mean given a week or two I bet you guys could have nailed it to. It was a lot of fun though!"

Silias enters the break room, looking short on sleep and with a slight floral scent surrounding him. He had barely managed to get some time to study his Pokemon, and it had taken the first two days to convince someone to give him access to it. The bug had seemed a bit disappointed to see only Silas, but it was still willing to give him a few spores to work with. The compounds involved made for a fascinating comparison to the once he'd used in the past. It had been years since the last time research had cut into his sleep, but this was worth it.
When he sees Solomon and his teammates trading barbs, Silas is forced to suppress a sigh. They're likely to end up on a joint mission eventually, and it'd a bad idea to antagonize people you may need to save your life. He understood though. Solomon's naked ambition is thoroughly obnoxious, and her behavior is going to cause problems someday. Silas attempts to ease the conversation by turning the topic to a narcissist's favorite subject. "They wouldn't have called you back if we hadn't finished the job. What was the mission like for your team?"

"Mrrrng, purrrrglr-buuu."
A considerably sleepy Leslie shuffles into the briefing room, eyes blinking out of sync with each other. Not like it's her fault, people shouldn't schedule meetings when she's sleeping. They should know ahead of time when she plans to nap, and delay anything until she wakes up. It's only proper.
She wobbles to an open table seat, grumbling all the way. People need to know she doesn't like this, dammit. Just this though, the past few days were great. Sleep when she wanted. Food when she wanted. She didn't have to clean anything... not that she would have, anyway. Being possibly compromised by a psychic drug dealer/terrorist has it's benefits, for sure.

"A week or two?" Emily glares at Soleil. "Now, you may have such a high opinion of yourself, but if we had your-" "Em." A gentle reprimand comes from Rose, who has turned away from her other conversation. "It's not worth getting worked up about. The past is the past. The only thing you can do is look to the future." "But..." "Just let it go."
After a terse moment, Emily relents, and turns instead to Silas. "Well, for us, we-" She's interrupted by the door opening, and a tall, blond woman in an officer's uniform hurries in, whom you recognize as Lieutenant Leah Foster. "My apologies for being late when I'm supposed to be briefing you," she says, as soon as she settles. "However, there's been some... unexpected developments, which necessitated a last minute change of plans." Looking at her datatablet, she begins a little spiel, "Beginning yesterday, there was elevated Pokémon activity around Warehouse Two-Three. That in and of itself wouldn't be particularly concerning, at least not beyond the worry that we'll lose primary supply storage for the District. But, such attacks happened before, and it will happen again. Technician Melling's team should have been enough. But there's been something different about it, this time. Pokémon have appeared that are reportedly unable to be caught. We haven't seen these before. They seem to be based on a... semiliquid state, though, rather than energy. At least that's what preliminary reports say. It's... concerning that we don't have any more data. So if you could achieve that, that would be fantastic. However, your primary purpose is you need to attempt to find out where these other Pokémon are coming from, and then stop it, if you can. Since capture seems to be unattainable, permission is granted to terminate these ones... you'll be able to tell them from normal ones. Anyways, at the rate that the report says they seem to be increasing, we'd have to draw more and more resources there just to keep people safe, so... the plan was to send both teams down to Two-Three. However, earlier today, we got reports of similar occurrences happening around Warehouse Two-Six. So one team will be sent to Two-Three, the others to Two-Six. Before I send you off to get armed, I imagine there are a fair amount of questions. I'll do my best to answer them as quickly as I can, because every minute spent briefing is a another moment those monsters are still out there." She looks around for inquiries.

Getting a sneaking suspicion time was of the essence, Thoron tries to keep his questions brief. "Was Melling's team able to defeat even a single specimen? From the description, I gather either they were unsuccessful, or even in defeat it failed to dissipate as expected? And by "unable", do you mean to say that the Pokeballs failed to energize them outright, or that they proved too evasive to even mount an attempt?"

Leslie speaks up, surprisingly. Like, wow, look at her be proactive and a member of a team, gee golly gosh. Sure yeah, her head is resting on the table and she doesn't make eye contact with anyone, but baby steps are steps all the same! "Did the initial team's report detail the size, numbers, and potential Species or Typings of the Pokemon? Any, mmrrrf-", she grumbles, clearing her throat.
"Any insight into their tactics or weaknesses would help too."
In another surprising turn of events, she's too tired to draw out her words. Go buy lottery tickets everyone, today's gonna be a good day.

"Wait...so I can shoot everything?" Soleil asked excitedly. She didn't have to leave her gun this time! Her tight hug to her gun changed from one of defensiveness to one of excitement. She didn't care to ask most of the important details since she figured between Thoron and Silas those two would ask stuff...huh...Leslie had actually asked something. That was weird.

Silas is happy to see his team composed and ready for business. With this information and a straightforward mission, there's a chance at the team actually getting along. With the major tactical concerns answered, Silas turns his mind to the why behind the event. "What is the known criminal activity in the area? It sounds like an unnatural phenomenon, either failed containment or a distraction, so what kind of human resistance can we expect?"

"Well..." there's a slight hesitation, "they didn't dissipate per se, but when they sustained enough damage, they tended to burst apart into puddles of inanimate... well, I suppose goop might be the best word for it. We haven't had time to study it, though. But the remains are still there, reportedly. And, well, as for the capturing... indeed, they failed to energize."
Turning to Leslie next, Foster continues, "Well... originally there were only a few, of various types and species. But after a lull, a larger amount came, with that same pattern repeating at irregular frequencies. If there's rhyme or reason to what's happening, we haven't found it, yet. The only thing that we know for sure is that, well, they don't seem to be that smart, or even cunning. Melling reported that they tended to head towards or attack the nearest target they could see. She wasn't able to get a whole lot of data, though, given that she has limited numbers."
"You can shoot any of the unusual Pokémon," Foster confirms, though clarifying what the acceptable targets are. "If there happen to be any typical Pokémon remaining, please attempt to capture them."
"Known criminal activity? Nothing major. Just the regular amount of petty crime. The incidents seem to be centered closer to the Warehouses, so the increased security presence there tends to keep levels down. As for human resistance..." she hesitates, "Well, there have been a few unconfirmed reports of a human occasionally amongst the Pokémon, seemingly untouched. But, descriptions are vague. So, there is potential. But it's unknown of what variety or strength."
"Alright, who's getting sent where?" Emily's voice definitely has a slight bit more than a hint of impatience in it. "Em..." Once again, there's that gentle warning tone from Rose.
"I'll answer any further questions before turning you loose," Foster explains, "but since you really want to know now, your team will be heading to Two-Six, while the others go to Two-Three." She turns back to the general room. "Any more questions before I give you equipment allocations and directions?"

"Do we know if the human people explode in goop? And if we don't know do we have permission to find out?" She asked. "For science of course. Or do they count in the 'hit in face with pokeballs don't shoot' category?" Soleil asked.

In the interest of time, Thoron replies, "I believe we have enough data to proceed. Barring the protocol for these peculiar people." Truthfully, there were more questions, but they didn't have the luxury to explore all of them right now, anyways. Not to mention their data was incomplete; perhaps they would be able to relay pertinent information of their own, once they arrived on-scene?

"Just one more question: what about the civilians? Are they evacuated from the area?" After asking this, Silas stands up and prepares to leave. His team has been entrusted with the bigger problem, and it'd be nice if the goo-Pokemon hadn't fused into some massive blob monstrosity by the time he arrived.

"Mmmrrnnngg-nnnnggg-nnnggg..." That sounded quite like snoring. Did she...? Did she even stay awake long enough to hear the answer? Is she actually asleep?
Leslie. One baby step forward, two floor rolls back. As her face is, well, facing the exit side of the room, anyone over there would be able to make out a little bit of drool escaping her mouth.

"I assume if they're human, then they won't explode in goop," explains the Lieutenant. "And, please, if there are humans... do your best to take them in a state where we can ask them questions."
"Well... I'd like to assume that the civilians have cleared out, or are at least smart enough to stay out of the path of any Pokémon. But, Floros..." she hesitates a little, sighing. "Do you have any idea what the logistics would be to actually attempt to evacuate even a fraction of a District? There is a reason why SPEED IS A FACTOR, KINCAID." The last bit is almost a yell, directed at the possibly-asleep Technician.
"Anyways," Foster says, calming down, "you'll be able collect your Pokémon at the armoury, then requisition up to ten thousand credits each of equipment. That should be adequate. You can request more information from your P*DA en route to the Warehouse in 1-3 or 1-6, where you'll be able to take a lift down to where you need to be. Dismissed."

Leslie only responded to the shout by a small movement that one could liken to a curtain being buffeted by a small breeze. Notice and respond to the stimuli, a slight jiggle in her seat, then revert to previous state. Foster is woefully under-trained for Leslie if that was her best. This sloth has had decades of practice. She does get up and head out though, once the teams start jostling for the door. Not even the last one out of the room, this slacker. Armoury means equipment, and equipment means her cute fuzzball AND Peter. She hasn't seen either in days. Unfortunately, by the sounds of it, there's no time to make her personal devices and various paraphernalia. Everyone's loss, that. Items requisitioned:
Bean Cap: x7 at 50ea.
Glue Cap: x5 at 100ea.
Net Cap: x4 at 200ea.
Pesterball: Rage: x1 at 350.
Pesterball: Poison: x1 at 350.
Pesterball: Paralysis: x3 at 350ea.
Smoke Bomb: x2 at 500ea.
Lum Berry: x1 at 250.
Lax Incense: x1 at 2000.
Great Ball: x1 at 450.
Flashlight: x1 at 200.
Max Repel: x1 at 400.
Super Potion: x2 at 380ea.
Enriched Water: x1 at 75.
Gas Mask: x1 at 1500.

It was unfortunate that they were so pressed for time, but Thoron couldn't think of anything critical that he would have done, anyways. Training with Lowe would have been ideal, but no doubt the people storing his equipment also ensured things of that nature were kept in working order. At least they had time to requisition items, and with a larger budget than their previous mission. This time, he made sure not to neglect certain restoratives that were rather essential for someone operating a single Pokemon. Items requisitioned: 3x Bait -750 3x Caltrops - 1500 3x Great Ball - 1200 3x Heal, Burn -600 3x Heal, Paralyze -600 3x Heal, Poison -600 2x Max Repel -800 3x Pesterball, Confusion -1050 2x Revive -600 1x Sitrus Berry -250 (Digestion buff for Lowe) 1x Smoke Ball -500 3x Super Potion -1140
Extra Funds (410)

As Silas reviews the equipment list, he frowns to himself. The time pressure on this mission is keeping him from preparing everything that he'd like. It might be wise to keep a set of supplies ready at all times. There's no time to worry about that now, so he has to accept higher prices. This time, he focuses on locking down a human target, as that will probably be the best way to get information about the incident. In addition, a few jars to collect samples of the "liquid" Pokemon seems wise. If he's lucky, he might be able to keep a jar for his own purposes. Sleep Pesterball 3 350 1050
Paralysis Pesterball 1 350 350 Sturdy Rope, 25ft 1 400 400
Collection Jar 5 100 500
First Aid Kit 1 500 500
Crude Knife 1 500 500
Hyper Potion 4 800 3200
Full Heal 2 450 900
Revive 4 300 1200
Great Ball 1 400 400
Pokeball 4 250 1000
