The festival of Arceus has finally arrived. As the newest priest you are some of the last people to arrive. Each of you is covered in a black cloak. You are not allowed to reveal yourselves until the induction ceremonies at dusk. You are allowed to explore the grounds but must make sre to not reveal wo you are. To the south is the housing tents for the non-priests of the Asati. To the East is the shopping centers. To the west is the tournament area and the main temple and living quarters for the priest. Each tent varries in olor according to the tribe to which it belongs. Paper laterns hang from wires between different tents.
You hear that the sign ups for the tournament begins tomorrow and ends at the end of the day. Rumors have spread of an attack on the Amar in the mountains.

Annabelle had been to the festival many times before, coming with her mother and grandmother for the induction of other new priestesses, but this was the first time she was an inductee herself. It was strange and exciting, and she was nervous about making a good impression tonight...Her hair was tied back into a low pun to prevent it from showing under her hood, as her family was well known for the color. She kept her cloak tight around her, her pokemon in their balls to prevent them from revealing her identity on accident, and she made sure not to raise her head too high when examining the wares in the shopping area. Very, very careful.
...However, it was getting to be a bit much for her, with all the stares and whispers about who could be under the cloak. She soon returned to the quieter priest living area, taking a seat in a central area and releasing her Meowth; it wasn't a pokemon specific to her tribe, so it should be fine. Jewel hopped into her lap, purring and nuzzling her hand for pets. She obliged, waiting anxiously for dusk.

Dorian watched the festival from a short distance away. Never one for larger crowds, he silently watched people enjoying themselves. A small smile played on his lips while listening to people trying to guess who might be under the cloaks. Eventually, he stands and wanders through the festival, making sure that his cloak is secured and his hood is drawn over his face so people who approach can't see his face.
walking the expanse of the festival he found himself in the priest's tent area and saw a Meowth sitting on another cloaked figure's lap. "Too risky," he muttered to himself, his hand double checking that the Pokeballs for Meeran and Crystal were safely tucked away. Sitting a little bit away, he watched the Meowth and its owner.

Looking out over the festival grounds, but making sure to keep the hood of her cloak low, Maria was almost surprised as to how many people were here. Attempting to make her way through the throng of black cloaked figures isn't easy, but she manages it and finds herself at her destination, the priest's living quarters.
Staying away from the central area of the living quarters (as Maria felt that there would be too many eyes on her there), Maria reached as subtly as she could manage to her pokeballs, the familiar feeling slightly calming her nerves. For a little while, Maria wondered whether she should release either Selene (her Spheal) or Leif (her Vulpix), but decided against either as she wasn't sure how comfortable either was among large crowds like this. Instead, Maria decided to just watch all of the people coming and going, while making sure to keep her hood low the entire time.

Dust wasn't a stranger to dark hoods, to be sure: "don't catch undue attention" was a command that suited him just fine... even if he didn't particularly enjoy all the ceremony and pomp: all the priests had already been chosen, and now they - like him - had work to do, and that work hardly included putting up fashion shows. Still this was what tradition required, and complying was much, much easier than complaining.
He wandered aimlessly through the festival grounds, taking in the sights to pass the time. Even if pokémon wouldn't have been a dead giveaway, he didn't want to risk breaching his cover, so both of his were currently resting in their respective balls. Never one for shopping and partying, this bored him immensely fast, and after a few attempts at eavesdropping discussions about trouble in the mountains (that seemed to be the most noteworthy event) he decided to head back to the priest quarter and wait for the ceremony to start.
And from the amount of hooded figures gathered there, he wasn't the first one with that idea.

With others in black robes coming and sitting nearby, Jewel sniffed and peered around at the new 'faces'. She hopped down from her trainer's lap and began investigating the new people; Ana froze under the cloak, unsure of what to do. If she called out, that would be a big indicator of who she was(or at least that she was female). She might accidentally reveal more of herself trying to get her little kitty out of trouble, especially since said Meowth had no real knowledge of all this pomp and circumstance. She could just try and return the pokemon from under her cloak...
Jewel happily started rubbing her head against random cloaked figures, including Dorian and Dust, but at least she was well-groomed enough to not get creamy fur on everything. A small sign escaped Ana, and she returned her nosy, friendly pokemon to keep her from getting into too much trouble. She offered a bow to the others in apology, trying to make sure none of her features showed.
...Man, the ceremony could NOT get here fast enough.

Dorian watched as the Meowth pet itself against his leg. Looking up just barely to see the other cloaked figure return the Meowth to its ball. When she bowed, Dorian gave a small bow of the head to acknowledge that he had seen the person who bowed to him. Dorian sits back against the tree, watching the people pass by under their cloaks. Seeing the Pokemon who were out of their balls.
He wanted to be done with ceremony and be rid of the cloak, but traditions were there for a reason and he just had to wait.

Noticing the small commotion being caused by the Meowth, Maria felt reassured in her decision to keep her own pokemon in their pokeballs. Impatiently tapping her foot on the floor, Maria instead took to listening for any snippets of conversation she could gather. After having heard earlier in the day about the attack on the Amar, Maria was really curious about any details she could find out, and whether or not the Amar tribe was ok.
After spending a while in the living quarters, Maria started to realize just how much she was sweating in the black robes. If it wasn't for traditions sake, she would've no doubt shed the cloak a long time ago. However, as she would rather not cause a fuss, she resigned herself to put up with it for however long she needed to (although she was tempted to call out Selene in a vain attempt at keeping herself cool in the sweltering robes).
