Sarah sighed looking at her pokemon, "You guys did amazing today though."
She put the pieces of paper away and smiled at them, "I mean that guys, we just gotta keep it up. Training hard to pull ahead of them permanently."
She then added, "let's do our best, so that way when we get to the next town, and fight raven in the tournament, we do our best!"

"Yeah, I guess... and it's not like I've never lost before, this one just hit home. You know, I could have stayed back in Johto, and my parents would have caught and trained my pokemon for me and carted me from gym to gym. Then I'd been sure to at least reach the elite four - and they would have considered losing there a failure. Me, smart as I am, told them I could and wanted to do this on my own, so I came here, and I thought I'd rather lose by myself than have them hand me my victories. But I never thought I'd actually start losing, and I know it's stupid, but I just realized that maybe I can't make it on my own, maybe all I am is my parent's legacy. Maybe they're right and I'm not much of anything without them."

Sarah's Pokémon smiled after hearing the praise their worries about the papers fading, as they nodded in agreement ready to get stronger for the next fight.
Cassy listened carefully to Raven's explanation of her situation "B...but today wasn't your start was it? You've won one gym already and your fight with me... unless that doesn't count...which I understand if it doesn't I know I wouldn't be much of a rival" she said shuffling her feet.

"I know, and I guess I'm being a bit childish about it. I knew that things would be harder without them, but now it's real. I'm not as likely to get as far as I would with my parents. But in the end, maybe that makes success more valuable or something? At least it means I have to keep practicing. I'm not giving up on my lifelong dreams because of one setback."
Raven dried her eyes and managed a small smile. "And you'd make a great rival, I think. You didn't even use your strongest pokemon against me did you? So give yourself a little more credit. There's no shame in losing... "
Raven paused and grinned wide, and added with her trademark wink: "...to me!"
Then she laughed heartily. "I suppose I should go back out there and congratulate Sarah. She really is quite the battler herself. See you 'round!"
Raven exited the restroom and walked over to where Sarah was with her pokemon (though she did stop to pick up her own from the counter). "Good match, Sarah. I'll get you next time."

Sarah was still putting away her own notes, as Raven came back out, "Probably!"
She smiled looking at Raven, "It was a close match, and the reason we ended up winning is the right things pulled our way."

Sarah nodded , "Yeah, I was just finishing my post battle review with the pokemon. Making sure they learned what they needed to know for the next time we fight. I'd rather not be that close to losing again."

Cassy worked up a smile, glad to see Raven out of her funk and was more than a little pleased that she would consider her a rival "S...See you at the tournament" she said waving as she walked off.
The pokemon that battled Raven with Fufu looking extra determined, nodded letting her know that they wouldn't take things easy next time just because she was there travel companion.
Meanwhile the hulking Cindy Lou walked up to them "That was one humdinger of a battle" she said grinning "Ya'll two patched up and ready to go?" she asked looking at the girls.

Raven skips and hops alongside Sarah, hoping to shake the last glooms out of her system. A few cartwheels and pirouttes later she is quite back to normal.

The girls walked along the path for about an hour, before finally coming to a spot on the route that was a bit greener than the rest of the path, numerous flowers dotting around the area. Upon getting closer they could spot a scuffle going on, on one side a Swarm of Combee facing off with 3 Murkrow's, behind the Combees the girls could see a tree with a large hive in it. The Pokemon fighting did not seem to notice the girls yet, too focused on their struggle.

Sarah looked at the situation and smiled, "Looks like we need to help!"
With a flick of her wrist she released out Ruru, and pointed, "Come on! let's get to it!"
Then rushed inbetween the two group yelling, "Stop!"

The Combee and Murkrow stopped looking a bit surprised when Sarah suddenly rushed in stopping quickly eyeing the other side wondering if she was support for them, but when they were met with equal surprise, both sides realized she was a new party. Immediately a Combee from one side flew back to the hive soon coming back with a glob of yellow goo dropping it at Ruru and Sarah's feet, motioning to it than to Ruru and Sarah giving a happy sounding buzz, before motioning to the Murkrows making a threatening buzz.
Seeing this a Murkrow flew off into the trees soon coming back dropping a few oran berries and sitrus berries in front of Sarah, motioning to the berries and her with a happy chirp, before pointing at the Combee running it's wing across it's throat.
Both sides seemed willing to pay Sarah and Ruru if they'd help take down the other side.

Raven rushed to Sarah's side, drawing Ruu's pokeball to hand. She made it spin on top of her upward-pointed index finger in a classic showoff. "How do you wanna play this? I'm partial to defending the combees' home myself..."

The Murkrows looked a little nervous when Raven mentioned the Combee, as two of them reached under their wings pulling out items, tossing them down onto the pile, a disc and a large unappetizing looking root. The Combee let out a worried buzz, seeming like Honey was the best thing they could offer.

With a look Sarah noted, "I think the answer is obvious."
With that she snapped, and pointed at the nearest Murkrow, "Rara! Charge in and spark!"
With that the small pokemon quickly moved forward slamming it's electrified body into the nearest Murkrow.

Raven grinned. "Great minds think alike."Suddenly, she flicked her wrist, throwing the still spinning ball toward the murkrows. "Ruu, give them a good jolt!"As Ruu appeared, it spun wildly and shot a small bolt of electricity at the furthest murkrow. Ruu's initiative is 17 this round (7 later), I doubt anyone has higher thant that.

The attacks caught the Murkrow by suprise as from the swarm of Combee one with a red mark on it's lower face flew forward to aid the girls, biting the one Murkrow left over. Rara's electric charge seeming to heavily injure the Murkrow, Ruu's electric attack hitting seeming to get a good hit on the Murkow, while the bug bite glanced off the third. Combee's Bug Bite AC 2:7 DB 8:18 This round counted as a Suprise Round so Ruu is top of intiative this turn. Here's a map and intiative Map and Intiative, I'll also post it in the first post of the ooc. Cindy Lou stepped a bit away and sat down "I don't know iffin I should get involved in natural struggles like this, but if you two are in trouble I'll step in." she called out ready to act if the girls pokemon took too much damage. |

This started well."And now, follow up with another thudershock, but this time with feeling!"Ruu suddenly stopped spinning, clicked once to the other direction like it was winding up, then released into a rapid clicking in the usual direction, while sending a bolt of lightning at the same murkrow. Thundershock at Murkrow 1

The bolt of lightning stuck the purple bird as it let out a painful cry, seeming injured before seizing up from the Paralysis.
Mean while the Murkrow the Combee had bitten into turned it's attention to the Bee pokemon, as it it's wing glowed black as it struck forward, striking the Bee hurting it and grabbing some Honey off of it. It seemed to hurt the bee a bit, but the bee was more surprised than hurt as it realized the item it was holding was gone.
