11:00AM, Day 1, January 1090
After one crazy (or not, depending what each student does) New Year prom party last night, the graduation ceremony is finally here, the event every student has strived for over the past three years, and more for those who have been detained, but the most important thing is to make it and all of the "to-be" graduates do. The Virizion party has always been an affair of multi cultures, the tradition is that all the foreigners are asked have to run one of their festivals or drinking game in the party so it does not take very long into the party to have people doing all kind of crazy stuffs. Hakan, as a Pure, will of course be bringing something Pure into the party, unless he refuses to do so.
Hours after the party come the graduation ceremony, hosted in the grand hall designed by famous designer and an alumni, Peter Versace, famous for incorporating the traditional elements of different regions into his design. Of course, it does not look impressive at all after three years. The Virizion prefers a quick and simple ceremony, beginning at 9AM and usually ends after two hours. Pokemon schools have no dress code, so people who are looking forward to be academic dresses will not get their wishes done.
After a short yet inspiration speech from the headmaster and the head of the graduation committee, a different lecturer every year, the students are queue up in a line to go up the stage one by one to receive their "trainer package": trainer ID, Pokedex and starter's Pokeball. As this graduation is usually done on Monday, including this year's, and students are from all over the regions, not many families attend the ceremony. For the few who do, mostly the locals, it is extra special for the graduates themselves.
As usual, the ceremony is done a little short of two hours. A small-scale tea party follows right after the ceremony in the same hall after everyone's effort to clean up the hall. With a quick glance, one can see that all the foods are re-heated leftovers(that, of course, won't work as Leftovers in game) from the party last night. As a port city, the food are of different varieties and fusion is very common among them.
Taking a quick look around, one can see that some of the students had already left. Some of them have their own family celebration plan and the others simply cannot wait one second longer to start their journey. Majority of students do stay to hang around with their fellow alumni and bond with their starter in a happy atmosphere.
As for Hakan, the world is his Cloyster, he is free to do whatever he wants, whether it be looking for traveling companion, searching for more Pokemon in the wild, going to another city or town by train, walk the Earth, hang around in the city, look for money-earning opportunity and any other options on the near-infinite list of things-to-do.
Hakan has tried to do some traveling around the region on his free time so at least he knows what's what around Portwich City. Located at the southeast of Portwich is El Giubilo, the tourist hotspot, the city of resorts, the place where many are discussing about going around you at the moment. To the west is a small, obscure port town that you don't even know its name, but you know it is a quiet place and has the small town feel that some people like. To the south and bringing you one step closer to the capital, if that is a place you are interested in, is another small town that you can't recall the name. You do heard a fair bit of that town over the years in Varius, mostly on the ruins of the past on the outskirt of said town. You are quite certain you can find more information in the train station.

Hakan's could feel the blood pounding through his veins. Finally! It was finally up to him to explore Varius. He hadn't been able to sleep the night before. A combination of partying and excitement for today had made sleeping impossible, at least until the graduation speeches started. But now his mental haziness melted into pure adrenaline. He was going to go out into the world of Pokemon! He'd made his way through portwich many times, but he hadn't been able to travel outside except on field trips. He wanted to run straight out into the wilderness.
In fact, he moved to do it. Telling his friends, "see you on the trainer circuit!" And his teachers "thanks for everything!", he made his way as quickly as possible to the door. Neither his friends nor his professors would blame him, they knew how indignant he got when he wanted something. They could see him eyeing the door over their shoulders.
He burst outside into the daylight, almost the first one from his class. He took a deep breath of the familiar salt air, saw wingulls gliding on warm air over white sails. "Wow, what a place" he said with a touch of preemptive nostalgia. But, Hakan's nostalgia never lasted long. He was much more concerned with what was in front of him than what was behind him.
As he stood there for a moment, appreciating his new home, the oft repeated Pure saying echoed in his head "to stay alive, one must be prepared. To be prepared, one must be knowledgeable." With his half-dazed mind catching up to his feet, he realized the wrinkle in his plan. He didn't know the faintest thing about the area around him. While he had no doubt he could survive it, he needed to know which Pokemon were in the area. Pokemon. His pokemon!!! How did he forget???
He dropped his bag to the ground and rummaged speedily through it to find his pokeball. He grabbed the ball, and held it to his face. “My own Pokemon!” he exclaimed. The sheer improbability of a person born where he was being able to say something like that made it all the more special.
Grinning from ear to ear, he pressed the button to release his Pokemon. As Lillipup popped out of the ball, Hakan immediately dropped to a knee. “Hey Lillipup, I’m Hakan, and it’s my fantastic pleasure to meet you,” he said, scooping Lillipup into his arms, “I think we’re going to be fast friends”. Hakan had seen a few Lillipups before, but he was astounded by quality of his own. Her heritage showed through in her coat and its (relatively) muscular build. “I’m going to call you Najma, is that okay with you?” He asked. “Now Najma, we have some other friends to meet, but first we’re going to have to figure out where they are. We’re going to the train station to get some information.” Winking, he shouted “race you there!” and ran off towards the station.

Fueled by adrenaline and gumption, Hakan soon found himself out of the school gate, trailing the path of the few students who shared the same thinking before him. It would likely be a long time before he would step into the school ground once again as the whole wide world welcomed Hakan with open arms.
It was a beautiful day in the dawn of spring, sunny but not too hot. The snow has give its way to blooming flowers and Pokemon were getting active once again. Flocks of Wingulls, with a few Pelippers leading in front, soared through the sky toward the port and water. Despite Pokemon has no knowledge of "date" or "new year", Hakan could feel the vibrancy in them, the thrill of hunting and the gentle weather were more than enough treats for the Flying Pokemon. The port, situated at the north side of the city, was buzzing with activities, even in distance Hakan heard some faint noise coming from that direction. New Year was a good time of vacation for many families, all the ferries, in and out, were booked full today.
After three years of staying in Portwich, Hakan knew the city very well. A foreigner himself, he has spent a fair share of time exploring every corner of Portwich City. The north part of the city was the busiest, filled with entertainment and shopping centers for the tourists. Hakan were fooled by those places the first few months he was in Varius, paying "tourist price" for daily products and such. It took some time for him to recongize the west part of the time as the "local zone", where things were of normal price and the go-to zone for the locals to do their shopping. East side of the town lied the open market and all sort of restaurants, a "food heaven" for tourists and locals alike. Night market was especially hot, with all types of multi-cultural dishes and items available. South part of the town was the residence area and the main attraction for tourists was the train station. Unless one is a backpacker, then one can find plenty of cheap inns in the south side. Hakan, however, knew some good food and small but unique stores in the southern area. It was a fun experience for any explorer, to find treasure among the normal housing. Shops there were small and cozy, in constrast with the five stars design of the north.
But Hakan did not care about any of them aside from the train station, in his search for information of the surrounding towns and cities. Before that though, he released his chosen Lillipup for their little meet cute. The little canine with furry face popped right out of the ball following the red beam. A trained Mon since the very beginning of her life, the Lillipup did not move one millimeter away from the spot she landed on, merely staring at her new owner with a blank face. Her tail wiggled along with the wind, her fur followed, as she was scooped by the young adult. Indeed Hakan was right about the Lillipup's build as he could easily felt the muscle on her leg and the overall tone of her body as she was inside his hands.
Najma barked in response on her new name, not necessarily because she was thrilled of another name but as a trained response to say "yes". She wondered about what Hakan said. Fast friends, her previous owners had been fine but she would not consider them her "friends", just owners who trained her and keep her fed.
After putting the small Pokemon back onto the ground, the Pure headed off to the local train station immediately, leaving Najma alone on the ground. The little Pokemon sighed; first thing she was asked to do by her new trainer was the same old racing. Unhappy with the instruction yet knowing that she had to obey, the Lillipup picked up the pace, showing the result of her yearlong training.
The clear opening toward the main road was simple for both Hakan and Najma, yet trouble found its way to the duo, and more specifically Najma, when they hit the main road. Full of tourists coming and going on both sides, the race turned into an obstacle course as Hakan found himself maneuvering a lot in the sea of people just to get around. He did not mind that though - some tourists probably did - too obsessed with the idea of starting his adventure to consider much else. Najma, with the massive size disadvantage, was having a hard time on the road with a thousand feet. As a race dog, she was trained to run on straight, clear road, twenty dogs at the most, and this was simply chaos. She could actually use the corner and gap of the street to her advantage if she wasn't so hellbent on sticking to the road. Her training has instil the idea that she must stick to the road no matter what, as getting sidetracked in an actual race would result in instant disqulification. The little canine tried her best to navigate over what might as well be a very tight forest, drilling through any opening she could find like a Rattata, but soon she realized she was lost. She could not see the back of Hakan either. She barked while leaping as high as she could, getting hit from a briefcase in the process, trying to find Hakan, who was too absorbed in the race to heard her. All the noise generated by the people around did not help either. Not giving up, little Najma continued to run to the direction she thought was right and barked whenever she was free to do so.
It was by the third bark that Hakan heard the cry for help from his little starter and turning back he would find many people...and people was all he found.

This… was going to require some rethinking on Hakan’s part. He had thought that a casual race would be a great bonding experience for a trainer and starter who were both competitive by nature. He was not necessarily surprised that Najma had gotten lost, not because he expected it to happen but because the race was also an attempt to appraise the skills of his new starter. When he used to find scraps of metal or traces of water in the sand, he learned that the best way to appraise the material was to test it. Now, he was trying to see what Najma was made of with this race. And, he had thought that she would crush him in this race, even with his size advantage. The fact that she didn’t wasn’t disappointing, it would just require a reassessment. But for now, he needed to get her back. Hakan had spun around as soon as he had heard Najma’s bark, but found only an encroaching wall of tourists he’d pissed off the first time he’d passed them. If he could still hear her with all the street noise, he guessed that she had to be at most fifty meters away. And, she was alone and probably scared of being trampled by people five times her size. Hakan wasn’t about to let that happen to his new friend.
“Najma, I’m coming!” he shouted, then “MOVE” to the tourists, as he shouldered through them.

"What's your problem, boy?"
"Hey, look out!"
"What the fuck?"
"Ahhh~"
"Touch me again, I dare you, punk."
Shoving people surely did not leave a good impression on them, even having a minor negative impact on the tourists' impression of Varius but those were not Hakan's concern, not when compared to finding his own little Pokemon. It took a few shoves for the lane to open up as no one was stupid enough to just stand and let the boy push aside. Soon, Hakan saw Najma on the now open path, and the canine Pokemon quickly launched herself at him, barking as she was going toward him, and leaped up to his head. The little Pokemon jumped extremely well for a Lillipup as the normal kind could never jump above Hakan's chest and Hakan remembered tested them himself on a Pokemon class about the athletic ability of various Pokemon and the lecturer had varius species of Pokemon demonstrating their athleticism on the field. She was also very fast on the open road, though that raise the question on why she failed to catch up to you.
Either way, Najma looked very happy resting on top of your head or just relieved at the very least. After all, Hakan were the only safe spot for her in this whole new world of her, the only thing with a tad of familiarity to her in this whole new environment. The minor mishap aside, and whatever place you decided to hold Najma, the remaining trip to the train station was uneventful.
11:20AM, Day 1, January 1090
As Hakan would expect, the train station was packed with people of all kind. The whole place buzzing with chatter and sounds of various machines at work. There are various things that can help you to acquire information. The most obvious way was the information kiosks, if only there weren't two long lines of people waiting. Based on raw estimation, you would probably have to wait in line for around half an hour if you choose to do so. Alternatively, there were plenty of travel booklet on the nearby counters. They wouldn't answer every question but you could definitely find some information reading them and you can do so immediately. You also saw two of your former classmates sitting and chatting by themselves on the bench, possible source of information too if you don't mind the information being 100% correct.

As he assessed the situation, Hakan ran his hand through his sandy blonde hair. His entire life he’d been forced to balance his excitable nature with the caution that had been instilled in him. Even though he’d been doing it his entire life, it hadn’t gotten any easier.
The fire in his stomach told him to ask his classmates and then sprint in the direction he wanted to go, but he knew that imperfect information was more dangerous than none at all. Biting his lip to restrain his jitters, he resolved to wait in line for the information kiosks.
“Alright Najma, I hope you don’t mind waiting,” he said, rubbing her ears as he stepped into line.

12:05PM, Day 1, January 1090 Having a canine Pokemon on top of your head was a sure way to get a lot of attention on you. Many people in the station were curiously pondering about why the Lillipup was on that dude's head and why hasn't that dude done anything about it? Najma was rather cautious about the packed station, especially after the little incident just now, so she stood firmly on top of Hakan's head the whole time, her balance not a problem at all. Despite having the intention to turn her body around to take full advantage of her position and explore the surrounding, the little puppy kept her feet firmly there as Hakan was moving, occasionally adjusting her limbs to not slip. Once Hakan stopped moving, queueing like the others before him, Najma was free to rotate around and see what's what. A human might find train station boring, it is merely a place for people to get on and off the train rather than a place to visit, but the little Pokemon was happy to just look around for whatever amount of time needed. It barked gently at you when you rub her ears, taking her time on top of you. Waiting was not new to Najma, as a race dog for a very short time, she was used to waiting. Race day was a lot of waiting and only few minutes of racing. She waited for her turn to race and waited until the end of the race day after her race before she and her race dog friends in other races could go back together. She had other Pokemon to play and chat with after her race unlike here, but she was fine as of now anyway. They have not waited for very long. As if fate was playing with him, the queue Hakan was in was the slowest moving among the three booths, much slower than Hakan initially expected, mostly because many people before him had way too many questions to ask the assistant. Some clearly did not do any research online before coming into Varius region and felt that people here should tell them everything. How spoiled. One of them was even flirting with the beautiful assistant. It was very obvious as the man was trying way too hard to find any question to ask and refused to leave until he was asked to leave by the tourist behind him. That asker was one intimidating figure and had more ink on his hand than bottle of ink in the market, good enough to make the pervert go away without a second thought. In the slow line, all Hakan could do, aside from playing with Najma, was looking around. It was super hard to heard anything though, all the chatters from everywhere and the trains arriving and departing, all were remixed into one loud track of gibberish for Hakan. However, Hakan did spot the price board: Price: Standard/First Class
Portwich <-> El Giubilo $500/$1000 ETA: 4 Hours
Portwich <-> Rajamak $300/$550 ETA: 4 Hours
Portwich <-> Galenesa $450/$800 ETA: 6 Hours Forty five minutes later, it was finally your turn to get some information about the nearby towns and cities. Whew, it'd better be worth the time. The booth assistant, the most beautiful among the three, her blonde hair smooth as the silk even when they were all wrapped and tied up under a flowery hair clip on the back. "Good afternoon, sir. How may I help you today? Are you looking for a travel package in the amazing El Giubilo? The finest resort?" Great instinct and intuition were not needed to know the assistant was hardpushing El Giubilo on you, glaring over the other booths you would see the same thing.

Hakan definitely noticed the other people’s stares, but wasn’t remotely embarrassed. He’d never been very shy, but four years of being a total stranger to the world of Pokemon had given him the skin of an Aron when it came to these kinds of things. Plus, his elation from being reunited with her still hadn’t died down.
As he waited in line for what seemed like a literal eternity, he tried to distract himself by creating various Pokemon teams in his head. Lillipup, Drillbur, Gligar, Onix? Lillipup, Cubone, Rhyhorn, numel? Lillipup, Hippopotas, Golett, Sandile? Lillipup, geodude, mudkip, swinub? He couldn’t decide. All he knew was that he needed to find some ground pokemon, and fast. Finally, he burst to the front of the line.
Seeing the woman at the counter, he noticed that she was very beautiful, and used to using that to her advantage. El Giubilo she said? So that’s what she wanted him to do. Hakan would play this close to his chest. “Hmm. El Giubilo? I’m not so sure. Could I find ground pokemon anywhere around here or at the other destinations?” and he waited to read her response to see if she was withholding information from him.

There was no need to read the assistant's response as the lady was completely beaten by that one question. "Erm..." The assistant looked around, as if she could find any help around her with the other assistants busy with their own clients and unlikely to know anything about Pokemon. The beautiful lady genuinely looked like she wanted to help but she really got nothing. "El Giubilo is surrounded by water so you can find a lot of Water Pokemon? I am very sorry sir, but we don't really have information about Pokemon here. We are happy to provide information and answer any question of El Giubilo, Rajamak and Galenesa but we are afraid we can't help you with enquiry about Pokemon." The assistant replied apologetically, even though she did nothing wrong.
"Hey jackass, why don't you go to the academy if you want to learn about Pokemon? Don't waste people's time here, see the long line behind you." Harsh words from the person behind Hakan. If Hakan was to Turning around, he would had vague image of that guy being one of the people he shoved just now. It was not 100% certain about it but that would explain the man's unfriendly tone. Najma did not like the man's tone either and was fighting back with some barks of her own.

Damn, he thought, Maybe I should have just asked someone at the academy. Najma’s barking snapped him back into the moment. He quite enjoyed her fiery temper. It’ll make her a wonderful competitor, he told himself. Focusing back on the attendant, he said, “Well if that’s the case, then I’d like to hear some basic information about those three locations.”
After getting the information, an idea popped into his head. This woman was a city-dweller. Of course she couldn’t help him with pokemon, she’d probably never even been into the wild. Maybe even never outside Portwich. But these people in line, these were travelers! They’d probably seen more this year than Hakan had his entire life. At least one of them must have extensive pokemon knowledge. He smirked, spinning around to see the angry faces in the line.
“Alright,” he announced, “Portwich is the only place in Varius I’ve ever been, so I’m brimming with questions about the region. But, what I really want to do is get started on my journey to find pokemon. So, I could stand here and ask this attendant questions all day, or if one of you can point me towards a place to find ground pokemon, I’ll be on my way.”

"Sure, sir." The lady replied Hakan before turning her focus on the angry man behind, "Sorry sir, I apologizes for any inconvenience but please wait for your turn." With that said, the lady sat back down to help you. Hakan could definitely feel the man's anger, especially since Najma was still barking at him. The man had a moment of stare down with the little Lillipup, who showed no fear or any sign of backing down at all, and the man eventually gave in and lowered his head, murmuring something that Hakan could not make up now that he has his attention on the booth.
"El Giubilo, or 'Heaven' in many tourist's mind, is the city to go for vacation. There are no better palce to be if you are looking for the most beautiful beaches in Varius. Resorts are easily found around the city but if you are on a budget, don't worry, there are plenty of affordable options too. There are also multiple islands you can visit by boat from El Giubilo, each of them with different activities to do. The city itself also features multiple shopping mall, its own golf course and a theme park for leisure activities." The lady elaborated before passing you multiple booklets on El Giubilo.
"If you would prefer somewhere cozy and quiet, then Galenesa is the place to go. THe main port used to be located in Galenesa before it was moved to Portwich. Now, Galenesa is a quiet little sanctuary for people who are looking to relax in a small town environment. Tours around the shipyard and factory are available and you can also rent boats and go fishing. Other activities are however limited." She continued before passing you a single El Giubilo booklet. It is a very thin one too, four pages at best, all pointing to the sign that Galenesa is not a popular spot for the tourists.
"Lastly, we have Rajamak. Rajamak was once the headquarter of the foreign army who invaded Varius long time ago. Now, it was a place to visit if you are interested in anything war-related or wants to take a look at another culture in Varius. In the city, you can find a war museum and the war prison on the outskirt is also open for visitors. Tours to the ruins outside are also available but only at a certain time per month so you might have to check on the schedule." The lady concluded as she slid the final booklet to you. The Rajamak booklet was as small as the one of Galenesa, maybe two pages more at best.
All the information was good for Hakan, but not necessarily helpful in his quest of acquiring Ground Pokemon, and he decided the best way to get information was to turn around and ask the travelers in the queue. He however missed a critical point, there were no experienced travelers in the queue. Experience travelers need no information from the booth, not at all, they would just buy a ticket and wait for the train. All the people behind him were as clueless as he was, and they were pretty clueless on what to do with this apparent crazy man who decided to hold up the line. The angry man behind him has a clear idea on what he wanted to do though, "Alright, that's it, I am calling security on you!" but before he was to leave the line and look for one, a security was already there. "Sorry sir but you will have to leave the line. Or I am going to call the police and charge you for public obstruction."
Before Hakan could respond, he felt two hands on his back and another hand holding his right hand. "We are sorry, officer, my friend here is still drunk from last night. Hahaha..." The awkward laugh faded quickly and Hakan was pushed-and-dragged out of the line by...oh, the two classmates he saw earlier, Vitoria and Toby. Najma sat firmly on Hakan's head for the entire course of the rough drag, too shaky to stand. They dragged Hakan to their seat before releasing their grip. "What are you doing, Hakan? First hour out of the school and you are already causing trouble." Victoria asked, concerned.

After that idiot behind him finally quieted down, he took care to remember what the attendant was saying. El Giubilo sounded like a tourist trap, but it could potentially have some interesting challenges. Hakan thought that if he were to go there he would probably be entertaining people with his battles, and not as a tourist. Galanesa seemed like a bore. I’d need a really good reason to make it over there, he thought.
But, Rajamak piqued his curiosity. He had no idea that Varius had been invaded, and he had a deep interest in all things ancient, so he’d definitely have to make it over to the ruins. After he got some more Pokemon, of course.
“Thank you very much,” he said, smiling. Then he spun around and pulled his little stunt.
As he appraised the confused faces of people in line, his self satisfaction melted. They were all clearly ignorant of everything outside city life. Now he remembered that experienced trainers would have just bought their tickets elsewhere. And the jerk from before was threatening him now.
“You’re gonna call security on me?” he glared, “You’ve heard my Lillipup’s bark, you wanna feel her bite?”
But, as he saw security come up he knew he’d lost this one. As the security guard spoke he was trying to think of some way to get out of the line with his pride intact when he felt a familiar pressure on his back and hands. Turning his head to see who had come to his aid, Hakan's cheeks turned red. Toby and Victoria, of course. He was in too much of a hurry to notice them when he'd come in. Toby was relatively new to saving his ass, but Victoria had been doing it since before they were even at Virizion together. When he arrived an hour late to his interview, she was the one who had steered him into the right room. Since then, she's stopped him from making huge mistakes more times than he could count.
"Oh uh, hey guys!" The smile on his face stretching from red cheek to red cheek. "In my defense, that guy behind me in line started it, I was just trying to get some Intel on earth Pokemon and he had to go and make a ruckus. What are you guys doing here?"

[Hakan did see Toby and Victoria actually, they were the classmates sitting and chatting on the bench when Hakan first entered the station.]
"You are welcomed, feel free to ask if you have ot--" were the final words Hakan heard from the receptionist before he turned to ask the crowd and almost got himself into trouble. He did get one off the big a-hole behind him before the security thing happened as the man quickly averted his eyes in silence once again after the threat of biting. It was obvious that the man was all talk and no bite. Najma alone would be enough to win the battle.
"You should have asked Professor Livingston or any other professor before leaving the school if you are looking for location of Earth -- I mean, Rock and Ground Pokemon. Or maybe Dr.Isaac, he knows way too much to be a student anyway." 'Dr.Isaac' or simply 'Data' was the nicknames bestowed upon your class's ultimate book nerd but Hakan was never too close to the man. No surprise as Dr.Isaac preferred book as his company. Most students only approached him when they have things to ask and left him alone in his own world otherwise. "And you might need to be careful with the threat. I know you are just scaring the man but I hope you remember we can't do that to other people, hurting them with our Pokemon will get your license banned and maybe even have you jailed. You have to be think everything thorough now that you are alone and out in the world." Victoria replied, as motherly as always.
"Maybe you can try the mountain range in the middle area of Varius? If you go by foot, you will have go through the mountains and caves before you can reach the capital. Or maybe you can choose between crossing the mountain and by cave, I don't know, I have only been there by train. Going into the tunnel is very fun, I like it a lot." Toby added and chuckled at the end. If what he said was true, then Hakan has one more reason to go to Rajamak, the beginning of his journey to the south. "I mean, I don't know what Pokemon are in there but it is very likely to find Rock and Ground Pokemon there, if you can stand being harassed by thousands of Zubat I guess."
"Oh come on Toby, don't bored people with your long story and lousy advice. And Hakan, not sure why you have your Pokemon on top of you or whether it is a tradition in your place but you look stupid in Varius, take her down please." said another person with a familiar voice. As Hakan looked to the nearby bench, he saw Megan, who he missed just now. Or maybe the girl just arrived? Megan was another person Hakan did not know too much about aside from her legendary bitchiness. She did not even look at Toby or Hakan when talking to them, just staring at her phone screen -- if Hakan were to take a look, he would see she is on her Cherbook page. Her bitchiness was the reason many students avoided her(maybe Hakan too) but as her boyfriend, Callum, was the sweetest and friendly guy in the class, Megan did have some friends who were willing to put up with her personality. Or maybe she did not see them as friends, Hakan did not know. "And you better call your friend Justin to come quickly or he better know how to go there by himself." Megan continued, the tone as harsh as her reputation. "Oh hey baby, we are at the train station already. Hot dog? Come on, you know I am trying to watch my weight here." And her tone quickly soften up as she picked up the call. Just like any girl of her age, she talked very gently to her boyfriend.

Livingston! How had he not thought to ask Professor Livingston?? And then Hakan heard Victoria say earth pokemon, and realized he’d slipped back into the Pure naming conventions. He hadn’t known that rock and ground were different types until his first Pokemon education. “Isn’t that a little redundant?” he remembered asking.
“Ah damn, then there are really no ground pokemon around here?” He asked after hearing Toby’s explanation. “I don’t think I’m ready to burn my cash on a train ticket yet. I’ll have to backtrack to campus then, Livingston should still be around his office.” And then he remembered something he’d overheard from a Virizion student about receiving a pokemon by posting a trade in the pokemon center. “Oh, but I’ll stop by the pokemon center first to post interest in ground pokemon.”
And then as he was turning to leave he was interrupted by Megan. He smirked as she scolded him for having Najma on his head. Hakan actually didn’t mind Megan much, but that was probably because he never took her seriously. Well, and because he took immense pleasure in seeing her annoyed. He knew the one thing that would irk her more than anything would be if he just ignored her entirely, so that’s what he decided to do.
Turning back to Toby and Victoria, he said “Thanks very much for the info guys, I’ll see you on the trainer circuit!” Walking out of the train station, Hakan headed to the pokemon center. “Looks like we’re going to have to wait a little longer before venturing into the wild” he explained to Najma.
Once at the pokemon center, Hakan sped over to the boards to post his notice of interest:
Recent Virizion graduate looking to acquire any ground type pokemon. If interested, please contact me here:
And he attached his number to the bottom of the notice. It was a long shot, but he figured there might be some Virizion alums in the area looking to help a young trainer out. “Alright, Najma, now we’re going to find Professor Livingston. I expect he’ll love to meet you in person!” he exclaimed, as he walked out of the pokemon center. He then began running back to find Livingston at Virizion.

1:05PM, Day 1, January 1090
"I don't know much about the surrounding area, can't help you there." Toby said while checking his phone, presumbly to contact his friend Justin thanks to Megan's inquiry. "You might want to be quick about going back to the campus, it's New Year and all of the profess, ors are on vacation. Chances are Professor Livingston will not be in campus by now." Victoria said.
Megan was not bothered by you ignoring her since she was paying full attention to her love on the other end of the phone call, but at the very least Hakan did not give her any satisfaction by giving her any sort of reaction. Najma, however, seemed to be affected by that and decided to move to Hakan's shoulder on his way out out of the station.
Taking Victoria's advice, Hakan went straight back to the campus with all the energy he got. The day has been taxing for him physically. In two hours, he had sprinted through the crowded street, the same one at that, two times, almost lost his starter, and had to stand in line and wait for almost an hour. After all these standing and running and he still had not move closer to his target of finding a Ground Pokemon. Maybe Professor Livingston would be Hakan's saving grace, and the man was right by the school gate when Hakan reached the campus. Phew, just a minute later and he would have missed man.
"Oh hey Hakan, forget something in your room?" The professor asked with a smile as he looked at the young man gasping for air in front of him. His faithful companion, a Geodude, floating in mid-air stared blankly at Hakan. As Hakan has spent a fair share of time with the professor, Hakan knew Rook(the Geodude) very well, and it him, and the Rock Pokemon was as "rocky" as usual when it came to expression. Rook was the professor's pet, not trained to compete or coordinate, just a companion in the professor's daily life. "Want to grab a bite with me? Nevermind if you just had lunch." Najma barked in response of the lunch comment, the young Pokemon sure seemed like she wanted a bite or two. "Oh hey there, nice to see you again." The professor petted Najma. "Your Lillipup looks hungry, come on, let's eat, my treat, and I will wait for you to grab whatever you need from your room."
