Between them Harmon and Neel track down a long since ruined and overgrown building , roughly 5 minutes into the forest. The remains are open to the sky and throroughly picked over, though it may have been by pokemon rather than humans. Nevertheless you find a what looks like somewhat melted stone amulet, surrounded by scraps of leather and ribbon. (300P worth of fashion scrap)
At the ruined house Eric finds the tracks of three large, quadrupedal pokemon leading further into the woods. They look easy enough to follow.
Mo and Koka spot no danger for the group and are confident they could lead them back even without Neel's map.

Harmon surreptitiously stashed his 'archaeological discovery' with a triumphant grin - he might be able to earn a few hundred bucks with something like this, and if he was pressed about his debt for the earlier crafting he could fashion something to satisfy it easily. Rattling off a few legitimate-sounding theories about the people who might have constructed this building and what purpose it might have served as he wandered around it, the Professor eventually ended up near Eric. The man seemed to be studying something on the ground, though Harmon didn't see anything interesting. "Hmm... found something there, have you?" He crouched, pretending to look at whatever Eric was and nodding with a few more 'hmm, hmmmm's.

Eric crouches on the ground as he examines the marks he found on the ground. He nods to himself as he looks into the woods. Then Harmon asks whether he found something. "Yes," Eric answers. "These are the tracks of three large Pokemon. Quadrupeds." He turns towards the group. "If you guys want to catch some interesting Pokemon while you're here, just follow me and I'll lead you to them." With that, Eric starts walking deeper into the woods following the trail of the Pokemon. Zephyr coos softly as she flies overhead.

"That sounds like a fine idea," Harmon concurred, following Eric as he tracked the 'interesting' Pokemon. "These ruins will serve as an excellent landmark to find our way back, after all."

(Roll a DC 8 Survival roll to follow the tracks. I am assuming Neel and Mo follow along)

Now that the tracks had been pointed out, Harmon could see the trail, attempting to make himself look useful in assisting with Eric's tracking. "Why, this reminds me of the time I was backpacking through the Johto countryside..." he began, spouting off a story about trailing a grounded Natu with a wounded wing for miles until it led him to an undiscovered ruin hidden under a cliff. Neel follows along behind them making sure they don't leave the tracks by mistake as they travel further into the forest, as well as making a mental note of the way they headed to put it onto his map later. "Your story reminds me of the time I followed a Pikachu through Petalburg Woods for a day, and found a clearing deep within the woods. I saw all types of pokemon there it was my favorite spot in the whole woods." He says after Harmon finishes his story. Poke Edu, to possibly identify the tracks K7HJE2HF3d6

Judging from the fact that they're hoofprints and their size, Neel judges that the tracks either belong to a Ponyta, BLitzle or Deerling. After ten minutes following the tracks you come across a river, where a trio of Blitzle are drinking from the river. They don't seem to have seen you. While leading the group with Harmon, Eric is distracted by Zephyr cooing to him as if she saw something. It ends up being nothing and Eric worries about losing the trail, but thankfully, Neel was there to pick it up. A little embarrassed by his lapse in concentration, Eric resolves to do a little better next time. "I'm going on ahead, I'll try to charm them," he says as he looks at the Blitzle at the river. He tries to walk towards them softly and slowly but not inaudibly. If they see him appear as if out of nowhere, Eric figures they might run or attack, but if he's a known quantity they might be more interested in what he has to say. Eric does his best to look unassuming and harmless as he approaches the Blitzle, with a relaxed posture and keeping his hands where the Blitzle can see them. Stealth for soft footsteps: TH9JoKR22d6

Harmon didn't approach the Blitzle directly; like Eric, he tried to make himself look everything the frail, unassuming old man, ambling towards the river several meters downstream from the striped purple Pokemon. At the same time, he kept his eyes on their surroundings rather than the drinking Pokemon; no sense in assuming they were the only thing here. Aside from the coloration, their differences from the standard breed weren't as obvious at first glance compared to the Machop and Pawniard they'd encountered earlier. Neel stayed where he was when he had first caught sight of the Blitzle, he knew that even if he could move silently his large size wasn't very easy to hide, as many pokemon in the past hadn't heard him approaching but upon seeing him, either fled or attacked. So Neel stayed back keeping an eye on both Harmon and Eric as well as their surroundings making sure they were all safe and ready to attack in case the Blitzle decided that they were a threat. The Blitzle stiffen as Eric steps out. One shys away as another steps forwards. The third snorts and looks around, clearly preparing to bolt. The Blitzle that stepped forwards sniffs his hands before outright poking him with it's head. After a moments of investigation it barks at the others, the shy one returning to it's drink as the third remains wary.

"Hello there, Blitzle," Eric greets them cheerfully, but not too loudly, with a smile on his face. "Anyone of you perhaps interested in seeing more than what this forest has to offer? Perhaps interested in what kinds of Pokemon there are out there? Maybe you even want to measure yourself up against them? Or maybe you just want to have a great time? Well if anyone of those is you, how about joining me or one of my friends?" Eric gets out a Pokeball though he makes sure to keep it near him so that the Pokemon don't feel like he's going to catch them without their permission. Eric is honestly not quite above doing that sometimes, but he much prefers to catch a Pokemon that is aware of what is going on. Charm Roll: 8eF6ZCqm4d6 4d6

Harmon waited tensely to see how effective Eric's pacifist strategy turned out to be, his hand on Agni's Pokeball in case things went south. And things always went south sooner or later, in his experience. It was simply a matter of being prepared to make the most of any advantage one could nab. Still, he was pleasantly surprised to see Eric was capable of more subtle manipulation. He could almost swear the boy was being sincere! Readying an action to release Agni if any of the Blitzle attack.

With the Blitzle not attacking when Eric announced his presence, Neel stops paying immediate attention to the trio of Blitlze, and instead pulls out his notebook to start making notes on the changed Pokémon. Once he finishes, he starts to wander slightly through the trees, keeping one eye on Eric at all times, and the other looking around for any interesting berries.

The brave Blitzle regards Eric with an unreadable expression before headbutting him and smiling. The wary zebra huffs and returns to it's drink alongside its fellow.
Neel looks up and spots that one of the trees has numerous scorched branches. On the tallest of these branches are several wacan berries, though only one is ripe.

Eric smiles back at the Blitzle, and assuming he has permission, touches the Pokeball in his hand to its side. "Welcome to the team," Eric says jovially.

The Blitzle is captured! ( Moveset here. Jolly nature, lv 6) Seemingly spooked by this the other two Blitzle take off.

Harmon suppressed a frown as the other two zebra Pokemon disappeared into the brush - while he had no doubt they could track the beasts, it would take quite a while to catch up. "Excellent work, m'boy! I think we've got some interesting things to tell our guide. Perhaps it's about time we double back, eh? I'm certain he's long cleared the road by now." The older man seemed eager to get back on track, his cane tapping rapid-pace once they began to retrace their steps.

Mo watch Eric interact with the Blitzles, his muscles wound up to charge to his guild mate's defense while at the same time Mo look on with a mildly disbelieving look. Sure he have seen others like the Flower Girls at his work convince grass pokemon into joining them and even Mo treated Koka nicely now that they are together but he had also had to prove himself strong enough to be Koka's trainer at the offset.
When the Blitzle look uninterested in gauging Eric with their horns, Mo relaxed slightly and silently observe the others as they each did their own thing.
After Harmon, Mo nods at Eric in a form of congratulation for 'catching' the Blitzle before taking a glance at his watch. "We should head back." Mo agreed with Harmon and continued to keep a look out for danger as they headed back toward the path.
