I can take Breeder now if it helps, that's no problem. By the way lordfhalkyn does it matter if none of our 4 classes are a combat class? I'm thinking of taking Commander as last class fairly soonish. If it's a bad idea I'll probably take Musician instead, but the problem is that as soon as level 3, I'm going to take Expend Momentum, which is an Orders Feature and will therefore take up Jamie's Standard Actions together with Focused Training once I get Commander's Voice. With his Swift Actions already taken by Duelist, that doesn't really leave many options for getting in some combat.

If none of your four classes are combat-oriented, that's fine. It just means you'll have to hang back when facing Team Tempest (and some League challenges), and play your Pokemon smarter.

Alright. So I'm trying to think how I should apply Helen's Level up, and I'm kinda torn in several directions. I was planning on just taking 'This One is Special, I know It', the last researcher feat I can get before having Expert skills next level, but Shako is giving Laurel the only Pokemon in the party we can presently make a breeding pair with, so that feat may be useless for awhile. (Helen is only two TEXP from another Level Up, so I can't assume we will have too many more Pokemon by the time I hit level 3)
With this in mind, I kinda have choose another class a little earlier than I would have liked to, which likely means using this level up to grab the skills I need. With that in mind, I have several ideas on how to progress, and would like some feedback.
Plan A: Level 2 - Take Novice Charm and Novice Intimidate Level 3 - Take Fashionista
The first idea is to take a dip into Fashionista, with the goal of taking the Dashing Makeover Feature at Level 5. Dashing Makeover is insanely good for a character with access to artificer recipes, as the Feat does not specifically call for Fashionista Items. With Dashing Makeover Helen could give anybody the effects of any held item or equipment she can make by binding 2AP, and as she can make Type Boosters, Type Braces, Stat Boosters, and eventually Focuses and Plates, this could be very powerful. There is also nothing to say it doesn't stack with the actual item... So I could stack a Dashing Makeover with an actual Brace or Booster to grant +10 damage or +30 damage resistance.
The con here is that I would basically be burning a class slot for one feature. There are some good other good things in the class, but Fashionista Items take money to make, and investing too much in Charm or Intimidate sort of makes the Pokepsycologist edge I took redundant. The only way I could see Helen further raising her charm is if I decide to make her a Fairy Ace/Elementalist at some point down the line (I'm expecting Diance at some point, and two of my mons will Mega Evolve into fairies).
Plan B: Level 2 - Take Novice Perception and another undecided edge Level 3 - Take Chronicler
Chronicler would help Helen get revenge on characters she has encountered before, and study the techniques of Holon Pokemon. Depending on how nice our GM is, it may eventually allow Helen to teach Holon's Wrath to our Pokemon somewhere way down the line via Archive Tutor. Target Profiling might help Helen overcome whatever bullshit defensive abilities Darius and Friends use to protect themselves.
Plan C: Level 2 - Take Novice Tech Education and Repel Crafter Level 3 - Take Another Instance of Researcher, with the Occultism and Chemistry Research Fields
Keep Helen a pure researcher. The Occultism field gives Helen tools to deal with that big, bad, Telekinetic she is now obsessing over, as well as other psychic, dark, and ghost types. Honestly, I'd likely focus Chemistry off the bat though (Perhaps taking Med Edu and Medic Training), as X-Items without the turn skipping and Poison/Burn Pester Balls are no joke. I assume a Chemistry Set can be purchased at a research camp like the one we are in.
Plan D: Level 2 - Take Edges to qualify for a Combat Class Level 3 - Take a Combat Class
The party is a group of non-combat trainers. Our main enemies are trainers with lightning guns. I'm not sure which Combat Class would suit Helen, but it might be a decent idea to have somebody in the party who can get involved in the fights herself. Hex Maniac and/or Sage would be Helen's best options, requiring no extra skills on her part, but I'm not sure if/when the GM will allow me to take those classes.

Totally shipping Helen and Jamie after weirdsound's last post, by the way (not in-game, of course. Unless you're not opposed to it....)

I'm not opposed to any ship with Helen OOC. ICly, for now she lacks the confidence in her people skills required to make the first move on anybody, and her low intuition means that she is likely to miss all but the most straightforward and blunt attempts to flirt with her.

Not sure if you've been keeping up with the Pokemon: Generations series on Youtube, but the most recent one was pretty darn creepy.
'course, I wouldn't be so mean as to put something like that Haunter in those Nuyan Ruins. .....would I?

If/When y'all get into combat, I'll make a proper map for it. Until then....
