The odd Pokemon raise their arms in tandem, and a squealing sound fills the room. Though it hurts Julia's ears, Eric is affected even more- his eyes water up in pain, and he covers his ears with his tiny hands. Reks is also affected, though not as badly as poor Eric. Afterwards, the odd Pokemon withdraw from Reks' flashlight, hiding behind some old boxes. Skout, having finished relieving himself on the door, bounds downstairs to stand by his master's side, panting happily. OOC Reks could not intimidate the Duskull.
Both Duskull used the interference ability. Eric's accuracy checks take a -4 penalty until the Duskull's next turn. Reks' accuracy checks take a -2 penalty until the Duskulls' next turn.
Both Duskull are now in cover. Initiative Reks: 15 Skout 15 Julia: 12 Eric: 5 Duskull: 5

Reks psychs himself up one more time, We can do this, rawrrg. Reks beats on his chest a couple more times, and the points his flashlight towards the duskull on the left. Skout, take the ghoul on the right. Make it hard to breath, and use Smog!
Skout nods at the order and moves up close to the hiding duskull. Taking in a deep breath and letting out a noxious gas towards the ghoul.
Reks uses bulk increasing attack and defense by +1 cs again, bringing it to +2 each.
Skout moves to I-C, and uses smog on the duskull behind the box1d20

Julia winces at the noise, more in sympathy with Eric than because of her own irritation. "Come on, focus, Eric, everybody! Don't let it get to you, stay on target!"Eric grinds his little teeth and squints as he tries to focus through the noise. Still curled up, he rolls his way forward, searching for a good angle to strike around the boxes his quarry has hidden behind. When he can finally get a clear shot, his quills lengthen into long vines that lash around the corner of the box. He does his best to concentrate on his target, despite the painful noise shaking his focus and his own curled-up state obscuring his view a little. Julia's Standard: Use Focused Training on Eric! Eric is doubly Focused (+2 to accuracy checks, +4 to Skill checks) Julia's Swift: Trigger Battle Conductor! Focused Training now applies to Reks and Skout as well (+1 to accuracy checks, +2 to Skill checks)

Eric's attempt to smack the odd Pokemon around fails; the Pokemon seems to fade from reality for a moment, and Eric's attack passes through thin air. Skout is only a little more successful; his poisonous gas hits the Pokemon, but it barely seems affected. As the move connects, the creature's eyes flash for a moment, and Skout howls in pain. This seems to amuse the creatures, who give a horrible coughing sound that only loosely sounds like laughter. Their mirth then subsides, and both extend their arms so quickly you can barely track them. Eric has no problem sidestepping the first attack, but Skout gets hit by the second, though it doesn't seem to be very effective. Julia You get the feeling that these Pokemon may be too much for you to handle without your Min and Cloak. OOC Skout hits with Smog and dealt a whopping 1 damage. In response, Duskull used Disable. Smog is now disabled. Both Duskull attacked with Shadow Sneak. Eric dodged. Skout was hit and takes 8 damage. Initiative Reks: 15 Skout 15 Julia: 12 Eric: 5 Duskull: 5

Reks watches as his buddy Skout howls in pain, and then taking a big hit. Shrugging it off so he can focus, he yells out. Skout! Time to light these things on fire! Use Ember!
Skouts reels his head back, and unleases a burst of embers into the face of the Duskull. Skout uses Ember on the Duskull in front of him.

Julia makes a low noise of frustration, shaking her head. "I don't think this is one we can handle on our own. Maybe with all four of us we'd stand a chance, but like this..." She jerks her head to the entrance. "We should pull back and get Min and Cloak. These things are too strong to deal with one-on-one."She doesn't like the idea of leaving Lazuli's brother in here, wherever he is, but with only Reks and their two Pokémon against the more powerful ghosts, their odds of making it to him aren't good. If they go on this way they're only going to get themselves killed. "Come on, Eric, pull back! We gotta get reinforcements!"Eric chirrups in frustration - between missing his target and now being told to break off the attack, this isn't turning out to be his idea of a good fight even if he hasn't taken much of a beating so far. Still, he rolls back away from the boxes and uncurls, shaking his head in irritation as he sets himself up to cover their retreat. Julia's Shift: back up to A-D Julia's Standard: Use Sentinel Stance on Eric! Until the end of Julia's next turn, Eric can attempt to intercept for any ally as a Shift action, and gains 10 DR against the intercepted attack.
Eric's Shift: back to E-E

The one Skout hit is set ablaze. Shrieking, it sinks into the floor. The second one follows suit. You no longer see them, but you know they're there... in the floor.... waiting. Spooky.

Reks watches as the ghouls disappear into the shadows. He calls out to Skout. Skout come back here, we don't know where they went.

"Seriously, let's get out of here and get Min and Cloak. Those things are too much for the two of us." Julia likes to think she's a pretty good judge of such things. After all, it's been frankly her biggest contribution to the caravan up to now. She beckons Eric to her side and starts heading for the door. "Getting this Lapis kid is no good if we get ourselves killed along the way. We need more firepower. And maybe those spores Cloak's Paras can shoot, that oughta take the wind out of their sails." Not that Julia's ever seen a sailboat. Julia and Eric both move to A-D.

The monsters do not emerge to harass you. This concerns you slightly, though you're not sure why. OOC You are now out of initiative. To allay (or confirm) your concerns, make an intuition or Pokemon Edu. check.

Reks, seeing that the foes have "disappeared" backs up a bit. Keeping his light pointing forwards still to see if they try to bull rush them from the shadows. Julia, go get the others. Quick. I'll make sure they don't follow you up. Hurry. We need to get the boy before he gets injured down here. Skout, on me!
Reks moves to B-D and get skout right in front of him at C-D

"Okay, fine. Don't stand around if they come after you and you can't hold out. We'd rather not lose you."Julia dashes up the stairs as quickly as she can and calls out the door. "Cloak, Min! Got some nasties in here, we could use your help. Two we've seen and they're pretty strong - skulls for faces, probably Ghost-type I guess. They disappeared into the floor just now, but Reks and I can't handle them alone."Intuition: CjbSLuVZ3d6 Just what are those ghosties up to? 3d6

"What?" Min looks surprised at Julia. "G-g-ghosts?" Min looks a bit afraid at Julia. Then she quickly turns to Emma."C-can you take them? No, I must be brave now, right Emma? Even if it is too soon."

Sorry. Min, give me something to eat. Half of portion, no more, no. And bit of water. Then, go, yes, and leave us alone.Cloak continued examination, and, at same time, started to remove part of his.. well, cloak, to then order Spore... Cut out part of fabric. Careful, do not wound me.He ensured Spore have good access to his clothes (that's what's under what's usually visible. Grey, featureless), and guided it to prepare few impromptu bandages. Then he took out one of potions, and mixed it a bit before soaking one of bandages in third part of mixture and carefully covering damaged arm, while, at same time, ensuring that damaged issue will be on proper places. Then he waited for Min to bring water and food, and looked at Julia Spore, go with her, yes. Skull-ghosts are your patients, yes. Prevent their movement with stun spore, then prevent infection spread with poison powder in their eyes, got it? Follow Julia's guidelines.Patch Cure - potion into 3 patch potions. Apply one to Lazuli's hand. Epnu2vVT4d6Medicine to treat her well 4d6

As Spore trundles off, Cloak finishes the bandaging. And he actually did pretty well, all things considered. While her hands are going to need to heal on their own, at least they won't be exposed to the possibility of infection. The bandages will need to be changed ever so often, however. As Cloak admires his handiwork, a horrific apparition arises from the ground in front of him. It's a skull-faced specter, but it's on fire. Chunks slough off, causing the ghoulish appearance to become even more disturbing. It claws at itself for a moment, trying to numb the pain, before turning to Cloak, fixing its crimson-eyed gaze on him and unleashing an unearthly howl of fury. But for all its fury, it's backing away from you. OOC Make an Intuition or Pokemon Edu. check to guess why.

Julia's halfway back down the stairs - she can hear something going on up there but isn't quite sure what. She calls out down the stairs to Reks. "Everything okay? Did they come back up yet?"

Min gives cloak what he asked for, before turning to follow Julia. But then she hears something behind her, and turns around quicky. Frozen for a moment, she stares at the creature in front of Cloak, before starting to scream. "G-G-GHOSTS!" She screams, taking a few paces back. She keeps looking at it, unsure what to do.

Julia mutters something very unpleasant. "They're up top now! Try looking for the guy, yell if you get in trouble!"
She dashes back up the stairs in an attempt to salvage whatever the heck has happened back aboveground.
