As team 2 enters the Solemn Forests north east entrance, you'll notice an eerie silence almost immediately. With every step your team takes, the silence momentarily ceases then resumes. The path in front of you is abnormally narrow, forcing you to walk in line at first. With no real point to searching this thin path, you are forced to continue. After a few turns, you are finally greeted with a small lake in the middle of a decent sized enclosure.
You may choose to explore the enclosure and lake, or to look for a way to continue forward.

All the way down the path, Helios was casting furtive glances into the forest, searching the trees for dangers that never come. The unnatural silence creeps him out, and he wants to get out of here as soon as possible.
Once the party reaches the clearing, he finally speaks, turning to Nette. "Hey, uh, tree girl, you're a forest spirit, right? Talk to the trees or something, ask them what the heck is going on here. I don't like this silence."

Bee sketches out the narrow, twisting path on the map as they make their way into the forest. Once they have a moment of peace she'll make it pretty... for now she'll concentrate on accurate. The unnatural quiet disturbs her a little, too, and she keeps an ear cocked to see if she can discern any noises in the hush besides the group's movements. As they step into the clearing, Bee glances around, checking for exits besides the one they entered by. "Forests don't quiet down like this," she murmurs. "There's something very wrong here... Everybody hold up a minute, I want to do something."Bee takes a deep breath. When she exhales, a thin, cool mist blows out of her mouth, circling around the team. "This should help protect us a little. All sorts of nasty poisonous Pokémon like forests."Perception to listen for other sounds: 10 Spend 1 AP: Make a Record of Solemn Forest F1 (NE), to be added to the Travel Archive Bee used Mist! Blessing uses remaining: 3

"I think you two are just too fussy." Olivier interjected, waving his arms. "The lovely singing birds and dangerous murder monsters have to sleep at some point!"He tapped his hand on his mouth. Well. They might have had just a slight point though. "Rain, rain, go away. Only happy days to stay... The Sage then waved his staff slightly, sending a shimmering array of sparkles into the air. "A good luck chant! If something should want to be rather mean to us poor travelers, they're going to have a hard time landing a really good hit with that around! Now let's map that lake!"He grinned. "Nee, just as we practiced. Fairy Lights!"Nee nodded in confusion at her strange companion who had placed him upon her head. They hadn't practiced anything. The young elf or human thing just sort of prattled on about many things that a Cottonee could never hope to entirely understand. But. Perhaps she wasn't hopeless. Nee sneezed, sending out a trio of billowing cotton lights about her. Oh. That was new. The strange one had talked about this. Well then. The little Cottonee wiggled her ear leaves vigorously, willing the cotton balls of light to cast themselves out across the waters six meters out. This wasn't quite enough to completely satisfy her though. Once Olivier got close to the water, Nee dunked one of the lights down beneath the billowy depths. Perhaps there was something down there as well! Olivier casts a Lucky Chant over the party! 3 Uses Remain!
Nee casts Fairy Light! It creates three candle like balls of light around her within 6 meters. Nee and Olivier are using these lights to illuminate some of the depths of the pond.

As the party leaves the city and enters the forest Nette quickly shifts from her earlier jumpy self to a much more relaxed one. Occasionally she points to a tree or flower and shares its name, should anyone be interested. She lets her new Mawile friend walk beside her most of the time only to pick her up once the pace becomes too quick for her tiny legs. Hmm. I need a name for you ...________________ Silent? I suppose it is silent ... Nette tilted her head to the side and listened. She hadn't paid much attention to the soundscape of the forest - she really never did. But yeah, it shouldn't be this quiet! With a small frown she looked around and tried to figure out why. (Survival 14, Gen Ed 13, Perception 1) "Don't be silly I can't ask the trees. They don't have any eyes so they never have anything useful to say. Just complaints about the weather ... And the forest is usually only silent when dangerous predators are around!Still though they couldn't let such a minor thing stop them from completing their quest. And Oliver and his fluffy friend didn't seem deterred, so she couldn't really be worse could she? With a brief look of concentration Nette sent out some of her roots, making sure she was anchored against any surprises at every step, and followed the others towards the water. "Let's see what we can find! I'm sure we could handle one pesky pokemon or so!"Using Ingrain; Can't be pushed, pulled or switched. Heals 1/10 at the end of every turn!

The fairy lights light up the small lake revealing nothing within. The entire area shows no signs of recent pokemon life at all. (Kssshh shshh shhhhhh) "Oh hi there team 2. I'm gett-" (khsh) "-terference." (khsh) "-silence -" (khsh) "- normal in the beginning." (khsh) "didn't get the chance to tell you that before so" (khsh) "careful of-" (khsh) "-try team 1 again." The rings on your fingers transmit various noises from your guild leader, Farina, along with some weird static noises. "Pre-recorder message 1! By Sariah (best assistant ever) Redwood!" This speech is quite clear to all four of you. "Hi everyone I pre-recorded this message into your rings to activate the first time Farina sends you a message. Aside from acting as your link back to the guild HQ in an emergency, Farina is able to send you messages through the rings, but you cannot send any back. That is all. Oh wait, bring me stuff!" You may choose to continue searching the area, such as the shiny spot in the corner, or move further in to the forest. From now on, you won't be getting more choices, it'll be up to you guys to decide what possibilities there are. As usual, you guys have complete freedom in this.
Team 1 isn't getting a message from Farina, so don't mention anything to them.
If you're from Team 1 and are reading this, try to act in character as if you didn't see any of this ^^

"What a strange pair of messages." Olivier pondered. "It sounds like she was forgetting to tell us that it would be normal in the beginning! I guess it's only later that things are supposed to get really strange."
Olivier frowned. Then he smiled, because frowning sucks. "Oh well! At least this pool doesn't have any lurking baddies! This will be a nice place for a cool refreshing drink before we continue on!"
Saying so, Olivier bent down and tasted the pretty lake water!

"Uhum." Nette agreed. Puzzling the phrases together could make something really mundane - or a dire warning. But since they didn't really have any way of figuring out which they couldn't really do much about it. "'be careful' she said; I guess we just have to be careful in general!"
Still the water looked tempting after the long walk. And Oliver nor his cottonee friend had been eaten by any lake monster yet so it was probably safe. So Nette joined him at the edge of the lake, sitting down and dipping her toes into the water so her roots could drink. "Should we take a look at that shiny spot next? Might just be a shiny rock - but even a shiny rock can be nice!"

Helios had been unsettled before, and the interference with Fariah's message hadn't helped. The others' preparations made him feel better, but he was still uneasy. He decided to try to take his mind off of his concerns by checking out the shining spot in the corner of the clearing. Perception: 15

"Doesn't look like there've been any Pokémon around here at all... That's weird. I'd wonder if something lives here except that I don't see any signs of that, either." She's a little apprehensive, but she's actually curious now, too. Good thing her name isn't Catherine.
Bee shakes her head and follows Helios over to check out the shiny thing. "Wonder what that is..." She glances over toward the southwest corner, where another track leads out of the clearing. "That way goes deeper into the forest, let's head that way next!"

Nette, being the first one to look around, sees it first; a little flower with golden petals. It's quite pretty, but almost everyone knows that these small feathers are popular in medicines. Helios, leaning next to her, spots another object dropped in the bushes nearby. It's a thick, silk thread that almost any adventurer would recognize; an Ariados Thread, one of the most important tools for any adventurer. *victory music*. You obtained one Small Flower, a rare ingredient from a Take spot! You also receive an Ariados Thread, which will teleport the user and everyone in a Burst 2 around them out of a dungeon. Would you like to continue on?

"Oho~! What a lovely flower!" Olivier says, wiping the water from his lips. He rises and takes up his wicker-worn staff once more. "If you are all ready, I propose we continue along the beaten path into the forest with vigor. We have much more to keep exploring!"

"It is very beautiful. Sariah will be happy to get this!" Nette agrees with the general sentiment of the prettiness of the flower. It was nice to see nature being appreciated! She gently knelled next to the flower and picked it up, handing it to whomever had their bag ready. Then she stood up again and collected the Thread. "Someone that will always remain up should carry this - so they can rescue the rest if needed!"
With all the loot related matters taken care of she looked in the direction Bee indicated and Oliver advocated. "Mmm. Lets see what more we can find! Maybe some of the elusive pokemons to test ourselves against? Or an explanation for the silence ..."

Helios delicately takes the Ariados Thread and puts it in his bag. Glancing around once more, he doesn't see anything requiring his attention in this area any more.
He falls in behind the group as they head to the path.

"Okay, let's go!" Bee takes up the rear - with her magic and her bow she can go rearguard or shoot over the others if she needs to. Lance snuffles along at her feet.

It does not take much traversing for the team to find themselves at a fork in the road. The path splits three ways, each of them with a monolithic stone door before them. None of the doors seem to have much suspicious about them, although only the left door and middle doors seem to have been opened recently; the right door is still flooded with dust and vines.

Bee peers around the rest of the group to look over the doors. "Hmm... Now what do we have here?"She skirts around everybody to examine the ground near the recently-used doors (quite possibly stepping on somebody's foot in the process). She is, of course, looking for tracks to see what, if anything, might have passed through them. Perception to look for tracks: 14 Survival to identify tracks if I find them: 21

Nette advances and places herself right between all the doors and look around. "The door that is 'locked' feels best. If no-one has been there for a while there might be plenty of things laying around!" She took a steps towards the rightmost door and placed her hand on it. "But we should map the entire area, so which one we start with matters little? Anyway I'm going to see if I can open this ..."
Edit: Nette braced herself against the door and pushed (for athletics 11). Her Mawile companion looked up quizzically then also joined in (for athletics 11). "Let's see if it won't yeild ..."

Olivier jigged a little. Oho! What fun! He waited to see if Nette could open the door.

Through Lessah's struggle, the door in front of her creaks open. The noise made from opening this door has clearly disturbed the rest of the pokemon taking a nap behind it, as you can hear somewhat of a snort. Although not quite awake, the massive sawsbuck behind the door (nearly 15 feet tall while still lying down) is halfway between waking up and falling back asleep. Whatever you decide to do next: roll a stealth check along with it. Group DC 25. (Add up your scores) I hope you don't fail this ^^.
