Lia feels a strange sense of vertigo but keeps attacking regardless. Ply's nearly taken down in a similar way to Los, but manages to look at the final one they haven't attacked and lets loose a big boom of bug type energy! Ply uses Bug Buzz vs unhurt Malamar!

Lia sighs and recalls Ply. She may have to resort back to sneaking around until she finds what she's looking for (If there's anything even there). She's getting a bit worn down. Although not sneaking did find her the Hybrid. So it did pay off to be a bit reckless. She heals up and heads further down the spiraling tube...

There is another little side cave off to the left as Lia exits into a larger area again. There she spots what she's looking for. Well, signs of it at least. A few of those Sykata creatures skulking about. No portal here though. It must be deeper still.

Lia pulls out her dex and peeks around the corner, taking video of the Sykata. She's getting close. But remembering what Floyd and Kaeda went through the first time, they did see the Sykata elsewhere before as well. She takes a couple minutes of observations and then moves on.
She heads to area 6 and decides to attempt sneaking through.

This area seems thankfully empty, but there is another chasm between Lia and the deepest parts of the dungeon. Now how to get across? Hmmm.

Lia manages to sneak her way to the end of the tunnel, where lo and behold, there is a spooky dark portal. Just like the last two times, however, the 'portal keeper' (for lack of a better term) is different. Instead of the super-sized Sykata-thing, or the 'outsider' kabutops, it's something different. It... it can't even be fully explained. It looks like a cross between a Chandelure and something else. There are many similar, if smaller critters floating around it; as well as the occasional Sykata.

Lia quickly takes out her dex and starts recording everything she can. Jackpot.She hopes that observation of this and what it took to get here is enough. The fact that the Sykata are here with this one as well as the numerous other creatures makes it clear that they are all related. Maybe Lia should catch a Sykata back where she saw them for D'mara research? Not to mention... this portal didn't 'open'. It's BEEN open. Entering didn't cause it to activate. That'll be useful. If they need an open portal to do this... For now though, this is all Lia can do save to fight it. But damn now she has a hard choice between the Kabutops or this one. Maybe both, heh. Lia heads back to sneak out to the main caves. She'll use Ply again to cross the gap and get out to the spiraling tunnel. She's got two stops on the way back up. That small side cave to try and catch a Sykata. And then she'll try talking to the Hybrid one more time. Stealth for three points:
