Welcome to the Gladiator Arena an underground illegal battle zone. Hunters for the arena go out and capture people to fight in the arena. Battles are expected to not end in death but sometimes injuries may lead to death of battlers or pokemon. Teams consist of three people: the battler, the medic/supporter(inside and outside of battle), and the spot lighter. Both battlers and medics/supporters participate in a battle doing what their titles suggest. Spot lighters do everything they can to ensure the team has what they need and is able to have some comforts when out side of the battlefield. Life is not easy for a team and is very rough in the beginning with very little commodities or comforts. Electrical collars stops combatants and their pokemon from being able to escape the arena. The only way out is to pay off your team debt which is a million pokeyen which increase monthly with interest. So far no one has been able to pay off their debts but there is rumor that one team is very close to that final goal. Each battle has a payout. Pokémon are transferable between teammates and after sometime on the battlefield pokemon will need to be switched out and given a break(reason for the spot lighter for having pokemon)
Sponsors can supply the team with supplies from very necessary to just small comforts such as favorite foods or just lotion for chapped skin. They can even give you a day off with half a matches pay and a day of pure relaxation. Spot lighters will be asked asked to show their skills to the sponsors in order to obtain more sponsors or money from current sponsors. To not have sponsors or to have very few is a very bad life for even the most hardened team of the arena. Needs/wants will have to be provided by sponsors or paid for by adding on debt.
.
I am wanting to build two teams with three spots in them like mentioned. This will be a mid-ish level campaign so feel free to try out somethings. I ask for one post at least every other day but do understand RL problems so do not feel afraid to let me know of a hard time posting. This will have a plot it is not just a series of battles
Battlers are the main fighters of the group and will dish out the most damage or be able to take the most damage depending on style. Support/medics are expected to be a part of the combat but in a more background way such as offering heals and status effects. They and their team are more oriented towards helping than doing actual damage. In order to defeat a team both the battler and the support/medic have to have no pokemon left or be knocked out. A spot lighter has the job of representing their team to the sponsors, for those that watched or read the Mockingjay series spot lighters have a similar job to Haymitch.
IF you have ever seen the Hostel movies the capturing could be considered close to what they do. The hunters search for candidates that meet team requirements. There are people on the surface who know of the hunters but they keep their mouths shut for fear of them or their family being next. The governments are aware of many people going missing but the Hunters are careful to never leave a trail behind so it is near impossible for them to stop it at the moment until someone makes a mistake.
The creators of the Gladiator Arena made it because they found that people would pay money to see other people and their pokemon hurt for sport just like with gladiators of the past. If the Arena is moved occasionally to insure that it is harder to find. Yes there are spectators. The Spectators pay a lot of money to come in and see a days worth of matches; some even tend to place bets about which side will win the match. They like to see the blood. Spectators who are believed to be close to betraying the Arena are killed.
Recruitment ends Sunday May 22 at 12 pm EST.
