Eyes fixed firmly to Amelia's desk, Karen answered, "I don't- All I was ever good for was treating injuries and making cures... I guess it wasn't enough, though, or they- umm... Sorry, ma'am."

"No reason to be sorry dear. All of us here are castaways from the shelters. We had out uses but they still cast us aside. Have no worries we will not kick you out unless you break the laws here. Each of you is useful to Salvation in some way shape or form. Here we ask that you do what you can to make this place grow and better than it is," she says looking at each of you and motioning you towards the wooden seats in the room. The seats looks to be hand made and have small cushions on them to offer some padding. "The rules are simple. Everyone is expected to take turns on watch duty and occasionally on scavenging as well. No killing, no raping. No stealing from another Salvation member. You will be sharing a small home on the eastern side of the community. It is still being worked on but it is in good enough condition that the bed rooms are safe to live in. Here are your assignments for tomorrow. You each have the day to do with as you please. Explore, get to know people, or what ever you wish."
Hazel and Joe are assigned to perimeter watch. Nikki is assigned to the science office. Karen is to be at the infirmary in the morning. There is a map of Salvation on the bottom of the paper she handed each of you.
"Breakfast is from 8 am til 10 am, lunch 12 pm to 2 pm, and dinner is from 4 pm to 7 pm. Food supplies are not the best right now but hopefully that will change with the scavenging group coming back in two days," Amelia says. "Have a good day."

"Well then," Hazel says, "I guess that's that. I'm gonna go wander around to get a feel for the layout of the place, then get some grub. See y'all later!"
With a casual wave, she flips aside the tent flap and strides out into the camp at large. She decides that since she'll be working on guarding the perimeter, she might as well check out those arrangements first, and then take a look over the rest of the place, just so she knows where everything is.
After that, though, she definitely needed to get something to eat. The walk here wasn't exactly a joyride, and it had been quite a while since breakfast. She just hoped they had enough food for a good meal; a warrior does need to keep up her strength after all.

Nikki nods in understanding at the rules, assignments and explanations. She was somewhat worried about that they felt had to explicitly state 'no killing or raping' but better safe then sorry! The promise of being able to merely explore at their leisure for the first day was certainly nice! And Science Office sounds nice. she nodded to herself. So things are going great so far! But before departing she had a minor question to bring up. In her Sheltered life Nikki hadn't seen much of nature at all and was a bit curious.
"Are the wilds around Salvation dangerous or more on the sorta-safe side? I wouldn't mind taking a look at the nature!" With a hopeful smile she looked around at the others. "If someone wants to come along ... Or maybe just on a small tour around Salvation and then down to check out the Running Water?"

"Th-thank you, Miss Amelia.", Karen says, accepting the paper.
Before she can leave to explore on her own, though, the enthusiastic girl asked a question. "I could... go with you? A tour sounds nice...", she replies.

"Yes! Of course!" Nikki smiled. The prospect of seeing all these new things had her bubbling with excitement. "Maybe we should settle to just take a look around Salvation then? And maybe our living area too. And the running water!"
Nikki will wait to see if Joe also would like to join (of if Hazel changed her mind!) and then drag the small party around Salvation to look at the most interesting sights. She would like to see the creek (having not really experienced free-flowing water before!) and their house. She'd be more then willing to follow along with any other destination suggestions as well.

Oh, I might be able to see some of the local population on the perimeter. He startles a bit, lost in thought, "Oh, I'll be happy to join. He rubbed the back of his neck nervously, I'm not used to being on my own just yet. I think we should look at our living area first and set down our packs." He hummed a little bit, while waiting to leave, he turns toward Nikki "So you have a Mawile? Those are quite rare in my shelter's area. May I ask how you met?

"Of course!" Nikki replied. "She managed to get inside the Shelter building; most of our is derelict. I was scavenging near one of the broken down reactors for parts to our own when I saw her. Just by walking in the wrong spots you can get the Glowing Sickness and she had wandered over the place, was in quite the bad spot. But I managed to pull her out and luckily, she's quite tough so we managed to patch her up again!" Nikki gently picked up Lis and carefully handed her over to Joe. The Mawile looked somewhat unamused but was docile for now. Lis had a small bracelet around her left arm that occasionally let out blink of light. "Her bracelet is just to monitor her health, she is quite safe to hold now..."

"All right then, lets go!" Nikki heads out towards their assigned living area. Joe's suggestion was good - they probably ought to see where they actually lived before heading off and looking at stuff for fun! Maybe I should take the opportunity to train my pokémon too? That way they all get to meet their new neighbours!

Watching the Mawile quizzically, but maintaining a fair distance, Karen nods in agreement - she figured they'd see the whole town soon enough anyways, and the order didn't matter to her.

Joe smiles at the Mawile placed in his arm, "You do seem like a healthy Mawile." He laughs, "And a bit of a heavy one too." Joe happily follows the other two.

The house that is given to you all is a small two story house with four bedrooms and a living room. The kitchen no longer exists due to having been destroyed along time ago but the hole where it was has been paved over in an obvious way. The house is lightly furnished with two full couches and a wooden chair with a cushion. Each bedroom is very Spartan with just a bed, desk with chair, and dressor with curtains over the window. All of the walls are faded colors.
The creek is a small trickle of water flowing beside Salvation. On the otherside of the creek is a couple of trees.

@ The House Having never had her own building - even shared with others and in this condition before - Nikki spend quite some time looking over every nook and crevice. They would probably be expected to maintain it all and then it was always good to know the layout! Hmm. Like Hazel did but for the house! After wandering trough the house at least twice Nikki heads into one of the bedrooms to claim it. While she didn't have much to unpack, she preferred to keep her few pokeballs and medicine close at hand, the other belongings she did possess went up against one of the walls for now. All except a stuffed Teddyursa which she plopped down on the bed itself. With an satisfied nod she headed out to the living room again and called - "I'm just going to take some time to show my Pokémons their new home too. And work on their training a little."In addition to the Lis the Mawile that had hitched a ride on Joe earlier she also sent out an Drifloon creatively named Up and a Skrelp called Vryn. With her trio of pokemon in tow she went over the house once more and then headed outside to practice a bit in the sunlight; a rare treat to the ex-shelter dwellers! @ Lunch Nikki looks around a bit to find Hazel again. She was, after all, part of their 'generation' so it seemed proper to ask if she wanted to come with them. And if she had seen their house yet! "Heya! Did you find anything? We took a look at our house - it was quite cosy! And we were thinking of going down to the Running Water after lunch if you want to come?"@ The Creek Nikki heads down to the edge of the creek and sits down, staring at the water as if hypnotized. She keeps a tight hold on Lis to keep the (healthy and a bit heavy ) Mawile out of trouble. "Look at all this! Mhm. I wonder why someone would just pump so much just here...?"

The house
Karin thought their accommodations were nice enough, especially given the state the community was in. Having an intact house like this, and entirely filled with people like you was probably a really rare thing... She'd have to remember to thank their Leader, later...
After her energetic new friend left to train her Pokemon, she figured her own could use some training. Or, in their case, some grooming. Holing up in one of the rooms, she tends to them before following the other two to lunch.
The creek
More concerned with the trees than the small creek, Karin considers going to the other side, to let her Swadloon, Edwin make something from the leaves scattered about. If the trees were healthy, he'd probably have a lot of fun 'designing' a new coat.

Hazel bumps into the others at the lunch area and decides to take them up on their offer to go to the creek together. They were going to be staying together for a while, after all, so she might as well take this opportunity to get to know them better.
She comments on how it's admirable that this community is able to sustain itself without the advanced hydroponics equipment and material recyclers from the Shelters. "I just hope my own former home doesn't have to resort to all this. The machines have barely been working for years..."
-- -- --
At the creek, Hazel finally lets her pokemon out for some fresh air, tossing out a Tyrunt, a fluffy little Woobat, and a Darumka with long horns growing out of the side of its head. While the other two run around and stretch their legs, the Woobat flies over to Karin and flies around her head and attempts to land on her shoulder.
"It looks like Kedama's taken a shine to you," Hazel notes, "Don't worry, she's harmless, unless you're food." With a sudden teasing glint in her eyes, she leans close and whispers "But maybe she just thinks you look really tasty."
-- -- --
At some point, Hazel trains her pokemon a little, practicing dodging through the trees and over the water. Suika the Darumaka gets stuck a few times trying to follow Tyndarios the Tyrunt through gaps in the trees that are too small for her horns, causing Hazel to laugh at her antics.

Joe looks through the house carefully, setting Mawile down so she can follow her trainer. It's nice of them to provide a house this nice compared to the rest of community. I wonder what happened to the kitchen? He sets his stuff down in one of the rooms.
When Nikki calls out, Joe nods his head and walks out the door saying, "I think I'll also train." When Nikki joins them outside, Roxanne shies away from Steel type Mawile, remembering a particular Klink's reaction. Andy turns his nose up at the other pokemon, before Joe scolds him. "I learned quite a bit about training pokemon in my shelter. If you want, I can help your pokemon be a little faster, stronger, jump higher, be more stealthy, whatever. But its limited what a pokemon can learn so I can only teach so many... Joe grows a little red and rubs the back of his next. "Sorry, you probably knew that."
When they leave the house, Andy and Plato return to their pokeballs while Roxanne climbs and sits on Joe's back while watching over his shoulder.
At the creek, Joe calls out a greeting to Hazel. Sitting on the edge of creek with his toes in the water, Joe smiles at the playing Pokemon, letting Plato and Andy out. Andy sits next to Joe while Plato attempts to irritate him enough to get up. Roxanne stays on Joe's back.

@ The House/Training
"That would be nice!" Nikki replies to Joe's offer. With a small laugh she continues "Thanks! I'll hold you to it once I know what would be good for them to know!"
@ Lunch
"Mhm. We didn't grow much food back home - we traded it for Power and sometimes our expertise in things technological." Nikki chimed in on Hazel's train of thought. With a small nod she added "Maybe we should send a letter home? They might be able to help eachother ..."
@ Creek
Seeing as the area seems safe enough - and that the others let most of their pokemons out to play - Nikki also releases Up the Drifloon and Vryn the Skrelp. The later eagerly checks out the water and after only a moments consideration bounces into the small creek, splashing happily. He swims in small circles for a small while and then simply floats lazily close to the water's edge. Up goes straight to the lazily floating and simply hovers a bit above it all content to watch and enjoy the faint breeze.
Nikki herself gets up and giggles a little at the overly friendly Woobat. "Nawww that looks really cute!" she comments and digs trough her bag for her Dowsing Rod. "I'm just going to have a quick look around here and see if there are any shards washed up!"
Freed from her bonds Lis the Mawile wanders about to check out all the other pokémon and people in the area before walking back and following closely in her trainers footsteps. She gives the Fire type pokémons a few curious glances but doesn't seem overly bothered by their presence. Lis, after all, didn't think too much about potential dangers.

After about an hour at the creek a young girl looking like she is 14 years old. Her short blond hair is back in a short ponytail. Her dress is covered in stains from dirt and something else. A Pikachu sits on her shoulder with a paw on the girls head sniffing the air as it looks around. "Hi my name is Anna, I work in the kitchens and gardens here in Salvation," she says. "Just thought I should introduce myself."

Intrigued by having another person around her age nearby, Karin brings Edwin closer, but stays on the other side of the creek. The girl looked nice, there was no doubt about that, but she didn't want to be the first one to introduce herself...
