On top of a hill sits the community known as Salvation. Many buildings were falling or states of being repaired. A wall was being formed on the eastern side of the community. Many young people could be seen going about tasks and trying to get things done. Many were thin and some looked like they were about to fall over but everyone was working hard to do their part in keeping the community going. A small creek could be seen on the eastern side of the hill and a garden was in the works on that side.
As you approach the community, a guard stops you and demands, "Halt, what brings you to Salvation?"

Nikki trudged up the hill with Lis the Mawile beside her. Unfamiliar with the brightness of Overland she shielded her eyes with a hand and squinted at the marvels. Water just running like that? Without pipes and without pumps? So strange! But the people seemed similar at least - many was thin and frail like her. Maybe they too get stuck with the Sickness here? Or it could be hunger ... With her eyes looking everywhere but where she was walking she almost collided with the guard - luckily his prompt and Lis grabbing her feet stopped her from making such an poor impression.
"Oh -" Nikki blinked and stammered, handcombing some of her insistent hair away from her face. "My Shelter has fallen on hard times and I was told to come here. To Salvation - for Salvation!

Karin made a point of not looking at the community of Salvation. Maybe she was being too hard on it, but she wasn't ready to call this new community her home. Of course, she hadn't expected them to not be ready to accept her! They hadn't mentioned anything like this, when they kicked her out... But then, how would they even know?, she thought ruefully.
Stopping a good few feet from the guard, she explains, "I was... thrown out of my home and told to come here, sir.". She really hoped her story was common enough that she wouldn't have to keep explaining, but the way her luck was going, it seemed unlikely.

Approaching the entrance to the community, Hazel marveled at how small and weak everyone looked here. I thought this place was supposed to be thriving, but this almost looks worse than the shelter. I mean, at least they have plenty of space. And the people! They don't look like they could possibly defend themselves against wild pokemon. Why, that one there looks like she could barely lift a pokeball! Though I guess that's what I'm here for, after all.
Casually coming to a stop in front of the guard, Hazel idly toys with the weapon on her hip, which looked something like a large black metal morningstar, but with holes in the head instead of spikes, and colored buttons on the haft. "Sir," she says, not quite saluting, I'm here because my shelter doesn't have enough room for everybody. Much like this scrawny specimen," she claps Nikki on the back, "I am here to make a new life in Salvation."

"Erp.!" Nikki exclaimed in confusion. She had noted that there were others around her - but not expected them to touch her so she stumbled half a step forward before stopping herself. It's okay they do that up here - take a deep breath! With a giant inhalation and a face shifting a bit towards red she quipped - "Sorry I wasn't prepared for that ..."
The Mawile at her feet looked up on the offending stranger and circled Nikki to make sure there no more "threats" until Nikki noticed and scooped up the Mawile.

Nikki: "It is fine," he says looking at you and Lis with a raised eyebrow.
Everyone: "Name please," he requests grabbing a walkie talkie from his his back pocket as a Weavile appears at his side. "Sir, I have a ... at the gates seeking to enter. .... Yes, yes sir right away." The guard turns to look at you and says, "Go ahead, leader has been expecting a new set of people coming in. Leader wants to meet you in the building at the end of this road. Just follow this road for a bit and you will see a better repaired building. Good luck."

"Nikki Neijin." After a short moment she added - "This is Lis." and held up her Mawile a little. She wasn't sure if he had actually asked for her name too, but better safe then sorry. Especially in this new strange place. Then, seeing as she wasn't stopped or detained or anything like that, Nikki continued up the road towards the building. All right! So far so good!

"Karin Lavonne, sir.", Karin replies to the guard. That done, she takes her time walking down the road. Not to admire the scenery or anything, although there was a charm to the town. Rather, she was trying to avoid any of the residents along the way.

"The name's Hazel. Hazel Praline." With a grin, Hazel walks through the gate and up the road as if she owns the place.

Joe hiked up the hill toward the entrance to Salvation. He took in the frail looking people with a frown. The Elders certainly made it out to be more prosperous than this. I hope I can help. Joe got to the guard just as three people passed the entrance and began to head in.
He answered the guard's questions quickly, "Shelter got too full sir, I was chosen to leave."..."My name is Joe Grace."..."Okay, I'll head up there right away."
Joe walked into the dilapidated community, walking a little faster than normal. Its one of the signs that he's nervous. Gotta make a good impression. Sis always said, "First Impressions are the most Important interaction. Don't screw it up" Come to think of it, I did step on two of the Elder's toes and still got a Pokemon, so I'm not sure how relevant that advice was. Especially to a four year old. Grimacing at the memory, he walked even faster, hoping to not have a repeat. He doubted the leader would be as forgiving as Elder Elizabeth.

Walking towards the center of town gives each of you a good chance to look around. It seems a bit better once you get going. Quite a few buildings a near finished with repairs while seem to be being expanded upon. In the middle of community is a building with stone columns lining one side of it. It is a grey color that may have long ago been white but age has changed it. Walking inside of the building, you can see a large entrance room with furniture decorating it in a wide variety of styles. There is an open door at the opposite side of the room with Office written on it.
"Come on in, I just have a few questions," a feminine voice says from inside of the room.

Not wanting to face... whoever that was (could it be their "Leader"?) alone, Karin waited quietly in the entrance room for a minute. Maybe she'd be lucky, and another group would come by. Then the lady could focus on them!

Joe notices the smaller girl in front of him doesn't move when the feminine voice calls out. He thinks she looks a little nervous and he approaches her from the side, making sure she sees him. Joe nods his head toward the office, "I think she is addressing all of us at once, yeah?" After receiving some sort of reaction, he enters the office, not wanting to be rude by keeping the leader waiting.

With an smile at the girl outside Nikki attempts to back up the encouraging archers words. "Yes, let's see what they have to say! Isn't it a bit exciting?" With a hopeful grin and her mawile still in her clutches Nikki heads inside the office. If there were places to sit, she'd pick one behind the archer. A bow was something she really hadn't ever actually seen so she was curious to take a closer look at it!

Looking between the two of them, Karen nods and follows them in. Answering the girl, she says, "I guess it is exciting. But scary, too...".

"Hell yeah, they didn't even make us wait! It's like we're actually important, already!"
Noticing that while she was preening, the others had moved ahead, Hazel quickly catches up and pushes her way into the tent.

A woman in her younger twenties is sitting behind a desk. Her long blond hair is tied back in a bun. She is looking down at a map. She looks up at you all evaluating each of you as her eyes pass over you.
"Welcome to Salvation. My name is Amelia Van Rose. Each of you are welcome here but I must ask what can you offer us here at Salvation," she asks petting the silver Dragonair at her side with pale eyes.

"To put it simply, protection," replies Hazel, "I've been training to fight monsters since I was little, and I like to think I'm pretty good at it. If I run into trouble, well, that's what I've got these guys for." She pats the pokeballs on her belt.
She leans back and crosses her arms as if to say that is simply all there is to say on the matter.

"In my shelter, I was responsibly for teaching children all about pokemon. I was given access to the shelter's library and information storage computer so I could answer any question the students had. Thanks to that experience, I am quite knowledgeable about pokemon and can tell you the diet, habits, and moves of most pokemon. In addition, I can help with pokemon training and help them become faster, stronger, and more skillful. Joe spoke up after Hazel leaned back. With a nod at Hazel, he continued, "While I don't think I have her experience, I have recieved some training with weapons. Here he pats his bow. For those who want to know, I'm basing his bow off the Martin Saber bow with a few changes.
It looks like a solid piece of wood from a far, but a close examination will reveal that it can be broken into 3 pieces. Also it is not wood. It was a design choice. It is 64 inches long when fully assembled.
I think those with advance tech would see an aluminium handle, with glass and laminated wood limbs. The string is made of Dyneema, a synthetic material, 15x stronger than steel. Joe looks a little thoughtful "I would like to take a look at pokemon populations around here."

"That only makes it more exciting!" Nikki nods and winks at the other girl. ________________________________
Chirping in after the warriors Nikki stood up and spoke - "I helped maintain the Shelter Power Source back home. And I'm *uh* quite handy with other tech too!" She added the last part with a nervous giggle, betraying that she might in fact share more then just Karen's excitement, and patted Lis the Mawile with her mechanical hand. "But if you don't need that I'd be more then happy to help in the fields! We never had that much Green back home, most of our food was traded."
With a small nod to herself she sat down again and eyed the last person in their small company, wondering what talents she possessed. And also she tried to steal another glance or two at the strange bow - she recognized some of the materials now up close (and without the glare of the sun!).
