As Bunnie wakes up, she sits up startled. She looks around, panicked that she was in the hands of Genechildren again. Seeing Cecil and the others, she closes her eyes and breathes in deeply. Placing a hand on her gun she gets up and walks through the commons area, glaring angrily at the two captives. As she passes Marissa, something Cecil had said off hand stops her in her tracks. Bunnie grips the gun tightly, but makes a strained effort to remove her hand from the weapon and steps over to the girl. She calms down again and speaks softly so as not to seem like a threat.
"You. You're mom was... Used by the Genechildren? What can you tell me about them?"

"Yeah. I think I just need to find the actual chemicals. I'll look when we're back in town, see what I can find," Amber says with a shrug. She flashes Christine a small smile at the other girl's decision to use the darts, and makes a mental note to make sure she keeps her stocked.
"If you need me, I'll be outside," She says, nuzzling down into Pichu where the fuzzy beastie is curled up in her arms. "Going to check on the little fuzzy thing, introduce him to Sapphire and Topaz."
With that she heads out, passing nods to Cecil, Kat, and Bunnie if she sees them and they're awake. She'll spend time getting to know her new mon, introducing them, and finally going through some exercises to teach it how to move faster as a group!
Amber trains Sapphire, Topaz, and Jasper with Agility Orders and Experience Training! Topaz gains a level! Topaz is level 14. Topaz is ready to evolve. All pokemon are agility trained!

Marissa wets her lips lightly as she stares up at Bunnie. "Yeah, they took my ma. Said they were gunna use her to spread enlightenment. Probably a fancy way of saying that she was gonna turn tricks for their conclave. But you wanna know 'bout the Gene Children? They're crazy, full stop. I mean, I'm off in the head, but those guys, they're whacked. They convert people, bring em in by offering them things, get into their heads and brainwash em. Some people, they think there ain't nothin' left in the wastes, no hope of survival. S'always gonna be folks that wanna hear the message, even if it's junk. Others... like mama, they take em, use em for the pleasure of the willing, entertainment an' sacrifice all in one."
She takes a breath. "An then, they start building up their convert's pokerus levels. Till eventually, they ain't all human. Lotta them die. Some, they say they get weird powers. Our gang, used to be a lot bigger... till we came 'cross one of their "Enlightened". Couldn't tell where the man stopped and the plants on his body... in his body, began. Killed a third of the crew before we put him down. 'Nother third left after Annie got fixated on the Ursaring again... just us that y'all kicked in the teeth..." She shakes her head, before looking Bunnie in the chest. "But yeah, some of them, they take the plunge, go all the way. Overload their bodies with pokerus. Lot of em die. But some... they get turned inta mon instead. Minimal memories, if any, maybe some minor human features or behavioral tics... but the person they were went bye-bye," she sing-songs the last bit.
Outside, Topaz seems to have taken to the training with gusto, and seems to have figured out a trick of some kind, streaming his energy from his cheek sacs to his tiny stub of his tail, the field giving him increased movement... but something seems to happen as he continues training. His speed is increasing even further, thicker and thicker streams of energy coating his body... until some kind of threshold seems to be reached. He lets out a high cry of "PIIIIIII!" as the energy saturates his body, which begins to glow bright white even as electricity continues to stream over his form. His body begins to enlarge, forms filling out in a smooth gradual process. His ears lengthen and slim, while his stub of a tail expands out, fanning into a lightning bolt shape. Finally, the process ends in moments, the energy sinking into Topaz' new form, revealing darker yellow fur, dark brown bands across his back, while his ears are tipped with black. His cheek pouches hav darkened to a cheery red color, and spark for a moment before the energy sinks back into his body fully. Examining himself, Topaz lets out a glad "Pika-CHU!" hopping in place happily.

Cecil had spent the remainder of the night in quiet reflection, lazing against one of the clinic's walls. He greeted each of them in passing as they rose for their day's routine, petting Boneyard between the ears, the dog's head in his lap while he watched Annie and Marissa. The Yellowjacket leader was a ball of fury, and while it amused him to no end to see her fight as she was, he was careful not to antagonize her. Any of the girl's walked in on that and it would be a new hot mess to deal with.
Once Bunnie moved to engage Marissa, Cecil paused in the doorway to listen. There was a certain tenseness about Bunnie's throat, and it flowed into her shoulders. He had always remembered her being very animated when she spoke, and the hand in her pocket was disconcerting. He settled on leaving it, Bunnie was a good girl, she'd just fallen on hard times, it would be fine.
Topaz was going through it's own changes when the greaser finally made his way outside. Today was going to be eventful again, but he would settle on a little time with his critters to get them into line. After that, he wanted a look at the weird scorpion critter. It looked rad, and he wanted it for his own.
(Cecil does training, then attempts peaceful interaction with the Skorupi, setting the Pokeballs out for the others to choose from or fritter with as they so choose, probably on the hood of the jeep.)

Amber pauses to watch Topaz's transformation, expression stunned. "Did I know you could do that?" She asks, squinting down at the slightly bigger pokemon. It's still pretty small...so she guesses she's still got her cuddler but. Christine had that big pink thing that had done something like this, hadn't she? Amber resolves to ask Cecil about it later. Was this something they all did? Did they just like...keep cycling through forms or...
She tries to imagine Topaz doing it again and becoming that little prong thing she'd found it with, or eventually cycling into...into that sludge pile that Joe'd had. Is that a final form? Do they turn into sludge and then, like, die? She looks at Topaz with wide, watering eyes.
"I don't want you to turn into sludge," She whines.

Kat's up early for her watch, and sharpens her weapons as the sun begins its daily ascent. After a bit of training, she claims the ball containing Annie's Beedrill and finds a quiet spot to introduce herself--properly this time--to the crazy creature, offering up some of her food to dampen its probable temper.
Once satisfied that she might have a chance of winning it over (though admitting that it wouldn't be an easy feat), she rejoins the group near the jalopy, eyeing both Annie and Marissa with severe distrust, and frowning at Cecil and Bunnie.
"We gettin' a move on, then?" she grumbles out, tugging her hair-materials into a messy plait. "Sooner we can get these chicks to Purewater, the better. See what the guards make of 'em."

Bunnie takes some time to think about what Marissa had said about happening to her mother. The Genechildren were scum. Worse than scum. She'd make sure they got what they deserved.
Gritting her teeth, she spits on the ground near Marissa and heads to the jalopy.

The Skorupi is understandably skittish when it's released, the new faces making it curl up defensively, barbed pincers raised and ready to strike on its tail. But Cecil's gentle tone of voice and offering of small bits of food manages to coax the insect out of its defensive position. While it's not entirely calm, the bug seems to have warmed up to the greaser, eating the offered tidbits quickly while keeping one faceted eye trained on the male. It's not full trust, but it's a start. Male Bashful Skorupi Level: 10 Injuries: 3 Moves known: Pin Missile, Knock Off, Leer, Poison Sting, Bite
Marissa calls after Bunnie, sounding genuinely confused. "Was it something I said?"
Kat's attempts at dealing with the Beedrill start out difficult, to say the least. The insect is battered, but not broken even with the incredible wounds that had been inflicted on it. A staring contest ensues over the food scraps that Kat sets down in front of it. The standoff lasts for several long moments, before the Beedrill bows its head ever so slightly, and spears on of the scraps with one of its arm-stingers, bringing the piece of jerky up to its mandibles cautiously, as if it's expecting a trick or attack. It's a start at least, the creature seems to have some modicum of respect for Kat now. Female Relaxed Beedrill Level: 16 Ability: Sniper Injuries: 4 Known moves: Twineedle, Focus Energy, Fury Attack, Poison Sting, String Shot, Harden
Topaz, seeing Amber upset, tries to wipe away the burgeoning tears with the tip of his new tail, managing to brush them away softly and without loosing a single erg of electricity... before overbalancing and falling onto his face with a dismayed "Chuu!"

Amber giggles at the tiny beastie, and scans it with her dex curiously. After, she settles in against a tree, pulling out her toolset, and stats fiddling with the small mountain of scrap that is pulled out of her pockets. She keeps glancing at the remains of one of the slingshot capsules, and a disorienting syringe, in between slotting pieces together. She ignores the discussion about leaving, sure someone will get her when it's time to go.

Cecil finishes the time with his little group of bio weapons, and makes his way to the jalopy. It takes a few minutes, but with everything shuffled around in the extended bed, there's certainly room for more stuff, and a whole building sits unexplored in their little makeshift camp. With a halfhearted shrug, Cecil fishes a ball from his pocket. "Ey, Bunnie, Kat, got some digging we could be doing if you need something to keep your hands busy."
Without further ado, he approaches the warehouse and releases Fender, the bigheaded little steel muncher would be invaluable, and get a meal out of this. The greaser set to work. The more they went home with, the better odds he had of getting his hands on more smokes, and maybe a gas mask for downstairs. (Athletics of 10, with a single Power 5 mon's assistance.)

As Kat, Cecil and Bunnie all start tearing into the wreckage, there's myriad sounds of scurrying and slithering from underneath, with the long grass on the far side of the old warehouse's frame trebling violently as numerous small things make their escape. With Cecil and Fender doing the majority of the heavy lifting, coupled with the weathered and decrepit nature of the wreckage, the three make good time, before Cecil hears a crunch of glass underfoot, as something gives way slightly underfoot. With Fender helping to clear the area, the four are able to unearth their find. Numerous half-rotted crates of clothing, mostly medical gowns and scrubs, spill their contents with ease. Not much is of use there, but underneath the initial outer layer, there are a couple of crates that are still intact, the cloth within untouched by time. At the very least, a tradeable good that's got some worth to people. The crate Cecil had stepped on held something of greater interest though, gas masks, all marked with the Vault-tec symbol. The greater majority of them however were useless as they were, the glass of the lenses cracked, the filters smashed and misshapen, or buckles rusted away. Digging through though, you unearth a single intact mask near the very bottom of the pile. The rest is best used as salvage and scrap. Other than the few intact crates, you find hundreds of fragments of eggshells. Some are purple with creme spots, while others seem to have been purple with a broad yellow band around them. Amongst the debris you find shed skins of some type of large serpent, the smallest of them thicker than Amber's arm, while the largest are thicker around than Bunnie's thigh. You also find... feathers? Strange small white feathers, fluffy and soft, but nothing to indicate what type of bird that they may have come from. Finally, as you finish combing through the wreckage, Bunnie stumbles across one last find. An egg, slightly smaller than her head, a cheery yellow color with blue-rimmed creme spots. The egg is warm to the touch, and shudders slightly when handled. You found 1 working gas mask you fond 6K worth of clothing and equipment scrap You found one ? Egg
Back with Amber, her Vault-dex whirs and beeps after a moment, before the robotic voice begins to speak. Pikachu, the Mouse Pokemon. An electric type, Pikachu was one of the early experiments in elemental infusion. It's cute appearance and intelligent nature made it an ideal pet and was the first pokemon to be introduced to the public, becoming the mascot for the Tajiri Laboratories, the creators of the first Pokemon. Highly intelligent, Pikachu are known to cook unripe berries and nuts with their electricity, making them tender enough to eat.

Bunnie stares at the egg, knowing there is a Pokemon inside. She considers breaking it for a split second, but sighs inward knowing that what happened to her had nothing to do with this creature. Holding the egg close to herself, she hugs it carefully and feels its warmth against her. Bunnie makes a simple sling out of some of that garbage cloth, the fresh stuff too valuable to waste, to carry the egg and walks over to Kat.
"Can I talk to you real fast? Can be in private or right here, don't care much for which."

Kat takes out her frustration by stomping down on the already-broken egg shells, hoisting the material scrap into her bags for later use. Surely someone back in Purewater could make them proper gear with the stuff-- and if she was gonna be front-lining for the vaulties for a while, any protection was welcome. The egg is one she vaguely recognized, but can't remember for the life of her what the species is called. Not one for dealing with infant pokemon of any sort--as the previous day's interactions with Bonsly proved--she doesn't spare a thought to Bunnie wrapping it up and claiming it as her own. But when Bunnie approaches her, Kat scans the girl up and down, trying to gauge intentions. "Y'can talk as slow or fast as you want, it don't much bother me. Is it somethin' I'd be worried that others might hear?" Her gaze flicks to Cecil and back, clearly frustrated. Let me know if you want them to have this convo over skype or not so we don't hold people up. :L
EDIT: Also, Kat is giving 775 tech scrap to Amber and 4 confusion pester balls to Christine.

Amber will, as the group finishes their hour of work, finally stumble up from her spot at the tree with a groan and a hand pressed to her back from being hunched over for an hour, working. She shoves the last of her creations in her pockets, except for a great ball that she lets Topaz hold onto for her, and wanders to find the group while muttering something about chemical compounds and 'is that even something they sell to the general public or'.
Meeting up with them by the car, she takes a moment to use the front seat to sort out the gear from her pockets.
"I think I figured this stuff out, so I have something for you guys," She mutters, laying out an excessive amount of mechanical bits, the syringe gun and it's collection of darts, and a small pile of capture devices. She sorts out one of the basic red and one of the yellow great capture balls for each of them and hands them out carefully. "I've made some extra, too, if you run short. If they sell anywhere near the way the sneasel did, it's a better investment to use these on useful things, right? So, um, don't hold back, okay?"
She also takes a moment to split her collection of darts with Christine, the holder of the other syringe gun, before starting to pocket things again.
In her two hours of extended actions, Amber can create 14 items. She crafts 6 great balls and 8 basic balls (cost of 1050 in great, 800 in basic for a total of 1850 spent. She gives 2 of each to the party and pockets 2 great balls and 4 basic balls of surplus. She gives Christine 10 of each of the darts, and pockets 10 sleep, confusion, and rage darts unless someone would like to speak up and claim a gun and 10 of each darts, since she's got combat skills without them.
She pockets 1275 of tech scrap, 775 from Kat and 500 from Cecil's findings. She's spent 1850, resulting in a net loss of 575 tech scrap.
For leveling up from Pikachu's evolution, Amber takes a bonus adept tech edu edge and a normal expert perception edge and boosts her attack +1.
While she was crafting, assume she let Sapphire and Jasper roam or whatever. Jasper's daily pick up: 8p6z|_Vq1d201d20

Hauling Marissa to the Jalopy, Cecil had since requisitioned what he felt was his share of things, with little intent to ask. There wasn't really any squabble over who got what. Bunnie and Kat had been acting a little weird, but he'd gotten used to it, or was that the shift in perspective he was still entertaining? Setting the first girl in the truck bed with relatively little issue, he went to collect Annie. Their salvaging was over, it was time to go back at least for a little while.
Cecil had more contacts to make, deals to broker, and an intense need to share a few of his contacts. Bunnie needed to meet Cindy, the latter had asked for as much. Christine might benefit from some time with Scrimshaw. Marissa meeting Lucien was pivotal to his budding social ties back in Purewater, hopefully it worked out that way. Annie he carried like one might luggage, holding her wrist and ankle restraints. Maybe he could help ease Kat into this a bit better with some social work...

"Oh, wow, you... really did mean a lot of darts." Christine exclaims, as Amber finds her after packing up. "I was expecting a handful, maybe, seeing as how there were just three before. Huh. I wonder why those few were all alone." She starts to head for the Jalopy, but movement catches her eye, a somewhat-familiar rodent-shape following the mechanic. Recalling what had happened to Bones a few days back, she asks, "Hey, uh, Amber... is... is that your mouse? What happened with it?"

"Yeah, I think I found the backup stockpile," Amber says as she tucks the rest of the darts away. She glances back at Topaz, who is still cuddling a pokeball. "Oh. Yeah."
Amber's mood wilts a little. "Topaz did a thing. She's bigger now." She pauses. "I think she might do it again. Bones did it, didn't he? What if she becomes the sludge thing, Christine?"

As Bunnie and Kat head back to the group, Bunnie feels at the Pokeball in her pocket, the one Cecil had given back to her with Ms Maples. She debates tossing it, but realizes quickly that doing so wouldn't fix the problem. She'd have to get her other Pokemon back soon too. With a sigh, she lets Ms Maples out.
"Ok you. Here's the deal. What went down before has nothing to do with anything regarding us from this point forward. I don't know why I'm telling you this, you didn't even do anything. It was the other two. This is dumb." Bunnie tilts her head back and thinks for a moment. "You found something while roaming around before, didn't you? See if you can do that again why dontcha?"

"Don't worry, Amber," Christine says, in a reassuring tone, "I don't think that she'll become sludge. They seem to stay relatively the same when doing... whatever it is that they do. Only bigger. Bones still looks like a pink egg, and Topaz is still a yellow mouse. I imagine that if it keeps happening, it will all be similar to that." She isn't entirely sure of herself, but if there's one thing the medical profession has taught her, it's how to have a good bedside manner. No need to induce panic, here. "But, I'll tell you what. When we get back to town, I'll see if... uh, Scrimsaw, has any books that might be able to help us. He's a historian, right? Chances are, similar things have happened in the town, so hopefully there's something that can help us."
