This hero has been transported across time and space in order to battle in the Arena. In the beginning, Link had been confused and dazed, appearing suddenly with two strange creatures by his side. A green canine that was reminiscent of his own wolf form and a fox who's dark colouring and flame-like hair/fur reminded him of Midna. She acted like Midna too, mischievous, sly and able to use illusions to change her appearance. As he fought in the arena to find a way back home and finish his quest, his team of Pokemon grew. Being a Pokemon Trainer wasn't quite as hard as he had thought. Link didn't talk much, but his Pokemon seemed to understand what he wanted them to do when he whistled or gave a battle cry. They were just like the animals that he had befriended back in Hyrule, who came to his aid when he used a grass whistle.
Link could feel it. He was getting closer to finally returning to his home. All he had to do was beat this opponent and any that came after.
"..." Link says nothing as he releases his first Pokemon onto the battlefield; a powerful looking Manectric. He then draws his sword.
The battle will be fought using this map. It's set so you can edit it as required by your actions, just remember to post where you're moving here too. Feel free to use tokens or add anything you like.
The opponent before him is a being that Link hasn't encountered before. She reminds him on the Zora but is rather different from them. She wears clothes for one. Link puts the thoughts out of his mind as she sends out a Pokemon. It seems to be a Grass-type by its coloration alone.
Putting two fingers of his right hand into his mouth, he whistles in a certain way and then issues a war cry, "Haaa!" With that, both Pokemon and trainer jump into action. The Manectric, who howled in tandem with its trainer's cry stays in place, rears back its head and then lets out a torrent of flame, before moving back to get itself a little more space. Link then runs towards to his opponent, stopping in front of the Pokemon they had released just after Wolf Link stopped his attack. He readies his shield and sword and attacks with a horizontal slash.
Wolf Link: Standard Action: Use Flamethrower; Range 4, 1 Target. Burns the target on 19+. WzHR9QcS1d20+1 vs AC2+Special Evasion. Damage: 2d10+40.
Shift Action: Move to S11.
Link: Swift Action: Ready his shield via Sield Bearer spending 1 AP. Link is granted +6 Evasion and +15 Damage Reduction.
Link already has his sword equipped in the Main Hand Slot and so doesn't need to spend a Standard Action to equip it (I think? Can edit otherwise).
Shift Action: Move to Z11.
Standard Action: Use Bleed!; The target loses a Tick of Hit Points during their next three turns. 1d20 vs AC3+Physical Evasion. Damage: 3d10+28 I accidentally gave Link Combat Stages. The Damage should be 3 less.
Free Action: Harrier; If Link hits, Chesnaught is Flanked and Slowed and cannot take actions as Priority or Interrupt.
Free Action: Fortress; Chesnaught is Marked. It takes a penalty to Attack Rolls to any target other than Link equal to 2.
If the user is hit by an attack, the user may use Spiky Shield. The user is instead not hit by the Move. You do not take any damage nor are you affected by any of the Move’s effects. In addition, if the triggering attack was Melee-ranged, the attacker loses Hit Points equal to 1/10th of their Max Hit Points.
Undyne used Wounding Strike!
3WZPMy971d20+Accuracy Bonus ≥ 2 + Target Evasion
WR, 1 Target
The target loses an additional Tick of Hit Points.
As Undyne is also a Fortress, she marks Link, to the same effect as his mark.
Hey! I've been maintaining the PTU Roll20 sheet! If ever you have trouble, let me know!
~Arena Master, along with TenabreTrevellian, Revenant, and Zephias~
Seeing its master besieged by the two opponents, the canine rushes back into the combat, its muzzle crackling with electricity. It snapped angrily at the humanoid fish monster, hoping to pierce through the armor.
Link sees the strike coming and blocks it with his shield in such a way that the blow glances off the metal, before immediately parrying with a quick slash. Then he goes in for another strike of his own, with another cry, "Hyaa!", eager to test his mettle against the warrior.
Since the attack missed, Counter Stance activates as Free Action and Link gets an AoO. Damage: JxeLib2x2d6+25
Wolf Link uses Thunder Fang; Paralyzes or Flinches on 18-19. 1d20+1 vs AC3+Physical Evasion (-2 from Flanking). Damage: 2d10+49.
Link uses Wounding Strike; the target loses a tick of HP. 1d20 vs AC3+Physical Evasion(-2 from Flanking). Damage: 2d8+25.
Link activates Flutter as shift action and readies his shield again (spending 1 AP) as swift action, gaining a total of +9 Evasion and 15 Damage Reduction. Effectively he's at 10 Evasion counting speed and being flanked.
Undyne watches Link hit the ground with his ill-aimed first attack, before the dog-thing goes in for a bite. She raises her own shield, Protecting against the blow! Link's subsequent attack still hits hard, of course, but she uses the opportunity to activate her food buff, Salty Surprise, gaining 5 temporary HP!
Chesnaught uses his foes' preoccupation with his commander to use Leech Seed on the Manectric!
If the user is hit by a Move, the user may use Protect. The user is instead not hit by the Move. The user does not take any damage nor is affected by any of the Move's effects.
Chesnaught used Leech Seed!
QAolaWkI1d20+Accuracy Bonus ≥ 3 + Target Evasion
6, 1 Target
At the beginning of each of the target's turns, Leech Seed's target loses 1/10th of their full HP. Leech Seed's user then gains HP equal to the amount the target lost. Leech Seed lasts until the target faints or is returned to a Poké Ball. Grass Types and targets immune to Grass Attacks are immune to Leech Seed
As a side note, remember that evasion caps out at +9 total, just for the future.
The seed that the Chesnaught spat at Wolf Link greedily sucked away some of his strength. It was barely noticeable but the Manectric could feel it. Angry having its energy taken, the canine takes aim at his original opponent and releases another torrent of flame at the green knight Pokemon.
Link performs a back flip to move around the fish monster knight, and then his whole body tenses as if he was charging an attack.
Manectric yowls as the spikes hit it and seemed to want to retaliate, but a whistle from its master caused it to focus on Undyne instead. It tried to clamp down on her armor with the electrified teeth of Thunder Fang.
Link also attacked Undyne with a slash aimed to hurt; Wounding Strike.
Move: Thunder Fang Type: Electric Frequency: At-Will AC: 3+Evasion (Undyne is Flanked) vs M4IOkaOe1d20+1 Damage: 2d10+49 Crit Damage: 2d10+10 Class: Physical Range: Melee, 1 Target Effect: Thunder Fang Paralyzes or Flinches on 18- 19 during Accuracy Check; flip a coin to determine whether the foe gets Paralyzed or Flinches. On 20 during Accuracy Check, the foe is Paralyzed and Flinched.
Move: Wounding Strike Type: Normal Frequency: EOT AC: 3+Evasion vs 1d20 Damage: 2d8+28 Crit Damage: 2d8+10 Class: Physical Range: Melee, 1 Target Effect: The target loses a Tick of Hit Points.
Link will use Flutter as Shift Action for a total of 7 Evasion (Forgot the +1 from Light Shield earlier).
Manectric loses 10HP from Leech Seed, so Chesnaught gains 10HP, but just in case you forgot, it also loses a tick of HP for three turns since Link used Bleed! on it.
Also shouldn't that Pin Missile have a DB of 9? Damage Base 3 x 3 from rolling a 6?

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Anyone else here a Hunter x Hunter fan?

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.
Dec 2, 2019 19:05:30 GMT
but how else do i find games then?
Nov 28, 2019 6:17:00 GMT
Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

i wanted to join a living server on roll20 to learn the system but they ignored my application for 2 weeks then blocked me

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.

Post on the Game Masters Seeking Players page. There are plenty examples there to go off of.
