Leaving the Vermillion Gym after losing for the third day in a row, Floyd frowns, considering the leader's words as he waits for his pokemon to be healed. 'I know I can win here. If Esuri would just listen we'd have crushed her pokemon already.' He looks at a map of Kanto as he thinks. 'Lia's probably gone back to Cerulean, and I have no idea about the others. I guess they will tell me if something comes up, like the ninjas or fairies. Or whatever Vasiliwen has. Maybe I'm better off not following the same path as the others though. Battling the Ground gym first was always foolish and Water wasn't exactly easier. Maybe I'd be better off taking luck out of the equation and facing a gym that isn't super effective against steel and doesn't resist it.' He thinks and frowns when he recalls Kanto's gyms. 'Ground, Water, Electric, Poison, Ice, Fighting, Fire and 'Chaos.' Maybe I should just catch the train to Johto or something.' He thinks before shaking his head. 'No, I'm not quitting and Atropa is probably here. I'll head to Celadon and get Esuri to start listening again before I come back here.' He decides and leaves.
After arriving in Celadon he walks into the gym the next day to challenge it.

Vincent sat on a bench outside the Vermillion Gym. He sighed. Well that was... another failure. I guess this was going to happen eventually. I've coasted on the strength of my Pokemon for so long, and now that they actually need my help to compete, we're falling short. The fact that Kaeda's performance was... less than stellar today didn't help. I'm sure it was just a bad day for her and her Pokemon. Another sigh. What can I even do to improve? I have no idea, and I genuinely hope that I haven't hit the ceiling of my skill yet. That would be my worst nightmare. He shakes his head slightly. No, that's not it. I just need to get stronger. We need to get stronger. Vincent then remembered that Kaeda was waiting for him in Cerulean City. Yes... Mega Evolution would be a perfect way to get more power. Carlin and I have fought together long enough to form a great bond, he shields me from harm before I even realize I'm being targeted. I'm certain we can use it.
With the promise of more power luring him, Vincent makes his way to Cerulean City, heading for the ranch.

Kaeda is relaxing on the back of her big Lapras. Orpheus is also by her side, but looks a bit more restless. Upon spotting Vince, she notifies Kaeda, who hops down, and goes over. "Hello there." She pauses for a moment, and scratches the back of her head. "Umm...I never apologized for performance at the gym...I apologize for that. Anyways, what do you suppose our plan should be? From what you guys have told me, it can be quite dangerous."

After arriving in Celadon he walks into the gym the next day to challenge it. As Floyd approaches the Celadon Gym, he sees a somewhat familiar face. It's Bug Catcher Dan, from the Fairy World (Vince's friend)! Strangely though, he looks flushed and red in the face. Not from exertion though, his demeanor is all wrong for that. Seeing you (whether or not he recognizes you immediately), he approaches and waves you off. "Uh.. you..don't want to go in there right now. Trust me.." He seems embarrassed for some reason.

"Are they not accepting challengers today?" Floyd asks with a frown. "I know gyms do that sometimes but they generally post notice outside.."
He pauses and thinks for a moment, looking closer at Dan.
"Are you ok? I normally wouldn't ask, but last time I saw you you were being mind controlled or somehting."

"Oh! N-nothing like that! Just..um.. I mean... 'yes' they're accepting challengers, but...let me put it to you this way: There are no male trainers in there. At all. And I think they're... busy..doing...stuff.." He trails off, turning an even deeper shade of red (if that's even possible for how much he's already blushing).

Floyd looks at Dan and blinks slowly, considering the options available.
"Well if they're open I'm challenging them anyway. I can't afford to waste anymore time."
He says, imagining Esuri eating his armour.
"Good luck with whatever you're doing then."
He says to Dan before heading for the gym.

The Gym is a bit dark. There is enough light to see by, but that's about it. The light also seems to be exclusively from candles. Mood lighting, anyone? You can hear faint giggling all around you.

Floyd frowns as he looks around before shrugging and calling out in a nice loud voice.
"Hello? I've come to challenge the gym."

Your response is more giggling, followed by someone undoing a few straps on your armor. Looking around, you don't see anyone. Each time you turn towards the sound of giggling, it changes directions and more straps are undone until your armor falls off completely.
"Silly boy." A voice says from the shadowed corners of the room. "Why so serious? Just relax...and have a bit of fun with us."

Floyd turns around slowly, his frown deepening.
"Fighting is fun." He says, slowly and deliberately.
"And if I cannot wear armour while challenging this gym, that is fine. If we must do so in the dark, fine. But I demand to know who I am to fight and terms there-off beforehand."

After the work day is done, Lia goes to hunt down Aleisandra again, if she's available.

The female voice seems a bit annoyed. "Wow. Talk about dense. Is fighting all you think about?"
Another voice answers the question for Voice #1, and this one sounds vaguely familiar for some reason... "Yep. He's pretty thick-headed. I doubt that our usual tricks will work on him. Better to go with option B if we want to mess with his head any. Even then, no guarantees."
At this point you start to feel a tad light-headed. You also realize the room smells a little odd, like... flowers? It's a very subtle scent, but it's there.

After the work day is done, Lia goes to hunt down Aleisandra again, if she's available. Aleisandra seems to be in her office, finishing up the day's work reports. She glances up as you enter. "Here to ask for more specific advice on where to look for your Mega Stone?" She smiles at your surprise. "Don't look so surprised. It's written all over your face. As to your answer: Have you considered where you first met your Sharpedo?"

Lia looks a little taken aback.
"I suppose I don't have a good poker face then. Really I wanted to ask about the story about you finding your Blastoise's stone, I was hoping to just glean clues off of that."
Lia thinks on Aleisandra's question a moment and snorts a laugh out as she remembers how she got Los in the first place.
"I originally found Los as a baby in like the tiniest pond right outside of Pewter. Basically just a stones throw into Route 3. I doubt Los would even FIT in the pond anymore as a big ol Sharpedo. And if there was a Mega stone just sitting at the bottom of that tiny pond this whole time, that'd be the most anti-climactic thing ever."

Aleisandra thinks for a moment, trying to recall her journey with Blastoise. "Well, Valuk and I ended up having to go way out to sea in order to find his Mega Stone. It was on a hidden island populated by members of the Squirtle family. It was only accessible via a long, underwater tunnel that was only traversable after moving aside several massive boulders. Once there, the stone itself was easily obtained after a discussion with the Head Blastoise there. We then spent several weeks training to control the new form before returning home."

"Kaeda told me her Gardevoir 'feels' a pull from somewhere, did Valuk have something similar to lead you to that island?"

"It's fine," Vincent waves Kaeda off. "As for a plan... I suppose we should try and attract as little attention to ourselves as possible so as to not alert the guards. This might be easier with only two people. Another option is hoping that maybe Orpheus can open us a way directly into the throne room. That would be incredibly convenient. But in case we simply open a hole in the outer barrier, how good are you at moving quietly? If you're not that good, I think I can help you out a little when we're actually there."

"Kaeda told me her Gardevoir 'feels' a pull from somewhere, did Valuk have something similar to lead you to that island?" "Hmmm... yes, actually, now I think of it. He said something about 'needing' to go to this place to become stronger. Even knowing where to go, it was still a journey of nearly a week in one direction."

Kaeda nods along as Vince lays out some options, and then scratches her head when comes to being quite. "Hmmm...I'm not that good at sneaking around to be quite honest. Some help would be very much appreciated. Oh, and Orpheus could open up an entrance you say? She could definitely give it a try."
