"Mother you know the champion has an iron grip over almost everything, and imposes her will on everybody. She can bully anyone she wants for any reason. I'm pretty sure she's punishing Cerulean for some reason. Probably because the champion, and Aleisandra don't see eye to eye. Shutting down the entire gym not because of a lack of quality, but for some petty grudge. I have a chance to help, and it has to be a drop in pond for us anyways. Maybe even half? Please Mother.

If she really wants this woman out of her position as Gym Leader, there's nothing you can really do to stop her. If you want to help this person, then I suggest you use some of those savings you have stored up and do so."

Lia could really only hear Kaeda's side of the conversation, but she could understand the tone of where the conversation was headed. Mostly, nowhere. She gives Kaeda a kiss on the cheek.
"It's ok. It would have been a nice quick solution but I guess life doesn't work that way. You tried your best. I'm sure we'll figure something out. Or bust some heads until we achieve something."
Lia looks off akwardly.
"So how did the 'before' part go? When you were catching up? I didn't hear any of that."

KAeda returns the kiss, and sighs. "I guess....We caught up alright. Only got to talk to my mom. Hopefully my dad will be more receptive. Anyways, it was all stuff I heard before a thousand times."

Lia nods. She's itching to ask if Kaeda talked about their relationship at all to her parents. Not like she needs to (I mean this is Lia who hasn't spoken to her parents since she ran off from Johto), but it would be nice to know if Kaeda wants to show off that she has someone. Although thinking on her parents is making her wonder if her own are still searching for her. It's been quite a while now, and she disconnected from the Dojo's ranch as soon as she went in with Floyd on theirs. That should have been a clue. Maybe they've been more chill about this whole thing than she thought? That also brings up speaking to HER family about her and Kaeda at some point. As serious as the two have been, and with Lia thinking on their future at this point, these are things that will eventually have to come up.
She just leans back.
"Alright then. I guess that's a dead end. But I uhhh... kinda figured it'd go that route with the way you've described them in the past."

"You tried what you could. It means a lot. Life doesn't work in miracles. Would have been nice to have that solved but Aleisandra is working on it, Missy is working on the fundraiser, and I gave what I could. For now I'm on standby and if I can I'll help out."
